Ditto Geckoh's comments. Fantastic views up here. With the steady stream of hikers going up and down here on the well used and marked track access itself is obviously not a problem. Maybe leaving the cache disabled, but still 'active' as it is currently is a good temporary solution. Cache is well placed and in excellent condition. Nice to have this up there as an extra reward for the walk up and as an incentive to head out to this fantastic viewing point
Was up here on the 16th, training run with the soccer team. Couldn't resist going to have a look if the cache was still there. No GPS, but there it was, so signed log.
Presumably walking access to the mountain is not a problem, just the "tupperware"? If so, given the geology of the mountain, why not try for a Earthcache? No container, "leave nothing take nothing (except photos)".
The issue with Mt Tauhara is that it is on private land (Maori land) and permission has to be sought to place a cache. I (and others it seems) have tried to get permission but this hasn't happened yet, hence the cache being withdrawn.

Will claim the FTF,
Had the coords in the GPS so assumed all was ok, didn't encounter any access issues whatsoever, the cache is on a track used by dozens of people a day, today I saw 5 people up there in the 2 hrs I was up there, and that was with not the best of weather conditions, I hope the cache gets enabled so more Geocachers can enjoy the great walk and splendourous views from up there, I have been up here before looking for a Geocache that was missing, the only issue with that one was that the owner of the cache was no longer actively involved.
Took the geocoin and also placed another cache to entice more people up here, will hope to have this listed within the next couple of weeks.
