As I no longer need to travel to Yass on a regular basis, I have decided to archive some of my poorer hides in order to reduce my "maintenance liability". Thanks to all the finders.

This one has had a good run. Being a nano, required regular log changes, but not much love in recent times.

Streak day 69
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

Day 312 - It was time to go home and this was the planned cache as we were travelling without that big box on the back it was a good time to make the stop for this well placed cache. Arriving at the parking palce the gate was soon found and with the aid of that all important tool a light the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.

Thanks Pacania for placing this cache for us to find on our return trip home.

This is our last day here, after attending the Clearwater Mega Event. Time to leave the showgrounds we have made home to for 10 days
Today we headed to Yass, after lunch we went caching with the Snakepiters, a rural tour to Coolalie.
Crossing the highway was the most hazzardest part of doing this cache. Entered into the tunnel, so many spider webs in here.
Mr. Sankepitermade the find.

Today i spent the morning packing up camp and washing and cleaning after my stay in Queanbeyan for the Mega event. I had planned to grab a few early caches, but my plans were thwarted by all the ANZAC Day activities.

I headed off on my way back to Adelaide, once again opting for a circuitous route to check out a few places I’ve not been before.

I noticed this one as I traveled down the highway and wondered just what it might entail. It all became clear when I got there and it was a quick find. An interesting multi.

Thanks Pacmania for the cache.

Found on the 18/11/2018 at 5:20:00 PM

My last day of my caching holiday, and I spent most of it driving back to Sydney. While I couldn't find as many caches as I wanted, I still managed to get my hands on 23, which brought my total finds up to 11,111!
I had an enjoyable and relaxing week of caching. Sad it had to finish so soon... until next time.

This was another cache that I had driven too far past before realising, and thus had yet to claim.
This time it was still light and I managed to snag it while travelling North.

Thanks for the cache.

A fantastic little series of 100 caches today plus 50 others to get 150 finds on a day yet again. Yes I know it took Loci622 and I 13 hours but it was worth every min.

**This Cache**

After working out where the path was in the dark (took almost as long to find the path and gate!) we were soon on our way to GZ.

Eyes adjust? Adjust to what? Oh wait, we are finding this cache at nighttime so there is no need! Razz Makes it a little bit spookier however!

Wasn't too keen about a magnetic nano in the dark bush, but when we found out where it would be hidden it was actually very easy under torchlight!

Thanks Pacmania, absolutely awesome location! Well done

*See generic log below of today's adventure*

**The Day:**

Today consisted of teaming up with Darksidedan, AngelG27 and joeylovestreasure to do the Tarago powertrail by ALL7. After finishing up at 1pm we all enjoyed lunch in Bungendore, before parting ways. Myself and Dan decided to keep going and spent a further 6 hours caching till dark! We went through Goulburn, Breadalbane, Cullerin, Gunning and then looped around back through Murrumbateman to finally return home.

All up a huge day that totalled close to 13 hours by the time we were done with it!

Thanks to all the CO's for providing a great day out Smile

Bloody awesome cache. Read the description as we we approached the icon and couldn’t resist a look. Luckily nobody was behind us so we were able to pull over in the car park safely where we grabbed our torches and made our way to the tunnel. Found the cache without any trouble then made our way to the other side for a sticky beak and photos.

Thanks Pacmania for the placement in a great location.

Wondering back home after the Alexandra event. 2861 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache Pacmania, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby.Smile Signed log. took nothing, left nothing. Please take a bow. we did many caches today and most if not all were in good condition and actually there. We cache in a lot of country towns, the caches on the open roads are usually there but the town ones are a mixed bag. The cache owners around here take a bow. really well done.Smile

This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.

We used the first two days of our trip to travel from Melbourne to Goulburn, caching along the way. For most of the travel we focused on caches on the north bound side of the Hume Freeway. We spent a few hours between Wangaratta and Beechworth on the rail trails – we try to find a number of caches in this caching mecca each time we come through the area. We then spent today working from Goulburn back to Yass finding caches on the south bound side of the highway. We then cached around the Murrumbateman area before heading back to Goulburn for the night. Although there were a few light showers, they didn’t interfere with or enjoyment today.

We were pleased to find good parking off the highway. From there we quickly found the path and headed off to look for the cache. It took a little while for our eyes to adjust but we were lucky because one of our strong torches located the cache very quickly, tucked away in a secure hide. We must have been coming from the right angle and were looking at the right height. We could imagine that if you were not lucky, finding this cache could take quite some time. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Pacmania for the good multi and hide.

***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 126 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 89.2. Progress is being made but there is still a long way before we achieve our goal.*****

With the long weekend apon us, nice weather and a full tank of fuel, it was time to head off on a little drive to pick up some caches to the north. This was a solo mission today, the music cranked up and windows down. Found a nice range of caches today and turned alot of unfound caches to some nice smiley faces Smile

I have driven past this one toooo many times. This time, I made the stop, went for the walk, adjusted the eyes, and was rewarded with a nice cache to sign Big Grin

Suscoe and Phetlern were continuing their Yass and beyond adventures today with a trip to the north east and north of the Yass area. We even ventured into the Upper Lachlan Shire for a while as well.
Weather wise today was a mixed bag with a coll start, some sunny breaks, some heavier cloud and a stiff breeze at times.
We enjoyed the changing scenery and the little townships that we travelled through.
Thanks to Pacmania for this hide, something different to do and a bit of fun, a favourite from us.

Another great day of caching in the company of our good friends Suscoe. Our route was a "loop" Yass - Gunning, Dalton, Jerrawa, Coolalie - Yass. Varied scenery, great flocks of galahs and cockatoos and of course many caches to find. Ooh into the dark without a GPS'r, guess that's how the critters cross and a smiley token for us!

Thanks Pacmania for placing caches, for everyone's enjoyment.

2877 9 of 20 today.

A fine return to form for the weather today which has been pretty ordinary of late. I thought a nice long country drive-by session was in order to take advantage of the lovely, but warm conditions. I started at Yass and headed east through Gunning and out as far as Collector before returning back to Canberra. Nice to see the countryside greening up after all the rain.

Pretty cool. I was a bit confused as I headed up the wrong way at fist & thought I'd need to squeeze into a barely-man-sized pipe. Glad I checked for alternatives before trying that way.

Leaving Friday at midday, and finally landing back in bed Sunday night just before the stroke of midnight, this weekend was spent on an epic 2100km, 60 hour geocaching journey chasing a mega multi-cache. That's an average speed of 35kph - we were even speedy in our sleep!

We initially made the same mistake as a few before us - without reading the cache description properly, we went to the wrong gate! After a quick check and getting to the right place, we were on our way "under". Luckily, today was a nice warm and dry day so we didn't have to worry about getting wet as some other previous finders have. We did, however, need to fight off an army of blowflies who seem to have taken residence in the entrance to GZ. A qucik find was made thanks to our trusty torch - TFTC.

**Cache 3 of 3**

I was on my way to get the cache called 'Under' and I saw 2 green dots on my map that was near 'Under' and I said what the heck I'll give these other 2 a go as I may never get back here again.

After coming back down the hill I went to find this one because the souvenir for this weekend was finding a multi-cache. So I made my way into the tunnel and because I already knew the hint I made a quick and easy find with the help of a torch lighting the way. TFTC

My time in Queensland had come to an end, it was now time to head back to Melbourne but there were a few caches that needed to be found on the way.
I stopped at this one as it was close to the road and it was a multicache.
I headed into the tunnel and through but didn't see the cache, I then checked the hint, had another look and the cache was found.

**Thanks to Pacmania for placing this cache.**

I spent the day today on a koala survey in the Nature Reserve, volunteering from NSW National Parks. Unfortunately we didn't find any sign of koalas. With my car parked right on the poster coordinates it was a short stroll at the end of the day to where the actual cache is. With darkness falling it was lucky I had my phone so I could use the flashlight app. It still took a couple of passes before I spotted the wee blighter. TFTC Smile

#3956 - 11.20; I needed to pick up an item from the little bakery near Collector, so organized with MrDamage to do a caching run through the area to the north of the ACT to collect a few recently published caches and visit some new areas as well. We were now well under way having visited Collector, Gunning and Dalton and now found ourselves back on the highway and headed to Yass for the main part of the day's mission. Spotted the turn off to the parking area for this cache at the last minute, but managed it okay. Parked the geomobile and made our way towards GZ for an easy find which could easily have been more difficult. TFTC Pacmania Smile

Found 11:19 am with LuckyL10n. We were out on a caching run with LuckyL10n on a mission to do 50ish caches. This one was a fairly simple multi so we could fit it in easily. However the hint was needed otherwise one could spend a lot of time here looking for this little blighter. Used our initials to sign the log.
Thanks for the cache.

Saturday had arrived and the sun was out-so I decided to make the most of it and nab some more caches in Yass as well as several others on the way Smile

After making the finds on two others on the nearby hill, I decided to nab this one as well. Parked at the little parking area nearby and then made the wander down. I came armed with a torch so that made making my way to GZ a lot easier and assisted in finding the cache when I saw the gleam of the little bugger Big Grin Signed and replaced and then it was back to the car to continue the geomission.

Thanks for another, Pacmaina Smile

Driving home from Sydney grabbing a few close to the highway caches as I went. Parked in the recommended area and followed the instructions to the start of the hidden tunnel. A few years ago I saw a similar thing in the USA to try and force the deer to cross the road in a single spot - without the tunnel so the deer were actually on the road! Of course when I drove through it there was a deer on the road (you don't want to hit one of these, they are big!) and what happened - it got scared and rn but away from the opening and down the road as it the fences kept it there - a tunnel works so much better. Anyway, back to the cache - this in an interesting concept for hunting the cache and as it was getting dark I had to use a torch as my eyes could see anything in the dim light and had the cash in hand after a short search. Thanks to Pacmania for this one.

Today was a teenage birthday celebration. The Fromskis had acquired their first handheld GPS, so with Fromski Jr (whose birthday it was) in tow, and the two families together, we set off to discover what all this geocaching hype was about.
This cache "Under" was their number 2 find, and it was great fun for all the young children to walk through the tunnel. Finally it was Junior Ms Fromski who made the clever find. This tunner is close to the Fromskis home, and as Fromski Jr noted-he had ridden his bike through this tunnel on many occasions, oblivious to any other adventure that was here to be discovered.

Thanks Pacmania-we have another interpid adventurer to add to the fraternity,

Driving from Melbourne up to Fishing Point on Lake Macquarie today.
An opportunity to pick up some caches needed for the Well Travelled Cacher Challenge Cache.
After lunch at the Yass Servo complex, we moved on north for a few kms before pulling over for this one.
Missed it on the first pass, then a closer examination grabbed it on the second pass in the 8 degree wind tunnel.
Interesting animal freeway. It would be neat to have a camera set up to monitor its use.

{22} A Pacmania multi cache? No way! First of two multis for me today. It was BatgirlandCo who made the find, while I looked in completely the wrong area very diligently. Tks Pacmania! One of a bunch found on a run with Noikmeister as part of the Hume and Hovell cache.

01-Jun-14
We were on the trail of Hume and Hovell all around Capital Country with Noikmeister and TripperOutThere today. Whilst completing the research for that challenge we picked up a few other caches that were either on our radar or in the vicinity. I had actually had this one on the list for two previous trips to Yass but had missed it for one reason or another both times so I was glad of the opportunity to stop for a bit of a leg stretch. A quick read and we knew what to do. I hadn't brought a torch from the car but apps are useful for such things - certainly useful enough for this one and after an initial cursory wander soon had the little blighter in hand. We then continued on in the rain.
