I have quite a few photo's from this event but sill me took them in large 14mb format which wont load on this event log upload photo's.

Does anyone know a simple solution to make these a smaller size for uploading. I have tried a simple Paint reduction but it crops the picture.
I do have many other photo editing programs like Photoshop. If anyone has a suggestion please email me

Well done Jonti, they get bigger and better each year.
We look forward to the next one.
Cheers,
from Romax.

Mary & David were there - tremendous fun. Cachers were gathering and lurking in every patch of shade just before the appointed time. Suddenly we saw the case, and there was almost a stampede to log in. A muggle lady approached Mary and Mrs Rabbitto and asked what she had to 'do'?? So many cachers to meet, so little time! Our thanks to 379Jonti379 for setting it all up.

Fantastic Event Jonti!!!

was a great day out haven't been to Bendigo for a few years and this was great reason to come back!!

Thanks for the event

26-Feb-11
Grabbed while up from Melbourne for the 2 local events. Spladem and I had a great time doing all these great local caches.

26-Feb-11
Up in Bendigo today for the Flash Mob and Marong meet and greet events. Met up with my mate Blacklegend (Marshy) and cached together for the day; which was rather warm and getting progressively humid as well. This was my first flash mob event and it was great to see all the cachers appear from no where when the time was right. Caught up with some cachers I already knew and a lot of cachers whose names i'd seen in many a log; always great to put some faces to these names. Overall had a great 25 minutes before heading out for some more caching. Thanks 379jonti379.
PS : Also my 2000th cache.

26-Feb-11
Attended as host of the event, Last year we saw about 60 teams show up, this year the total count was confirmed at 70! A massive turnout for Bendigo Event Day 2011, and I look forward to hosting it again in 2012!

Thanks to all that attended.

The Cache will be archived in about a week.

26-Feb-11
Attended this with the Crazy Creels, Team Geotwins and Team Boofa. My first event.

26-Feb-11
This was our first FME, hopefully not our last, it was quite bizzare, but fantastic to be a part of.
The weekend continued caching in the area.
Many thanks to all involved in making this event happen.

26-Feb-11
Got there just at the last second. Turned into a great day caching.

26-Feb-11
I went to this one with Mum & Dad - skullracing. Thanks for the fun there was a lot of people there.

26-Feb-11
Arriving with coley_babee we stood around and looked like shoppers for a short while until 1300!
WOW! Amazing the numbers of 'shoppers' turned geocachers!
Stood around for far longer than the departure time chatting and looking at pathtags.
Thanks 379Jonti379 for hosting this event.

26-Feb-11

Attended our first Flash Mob event with some geo friends. It was great to catch up with old friends and meet a few new ones. We will put this one in our calender for next year.

Person number 60 to log and one of 70 that C@H and I found this weekend whilst here for the two events, well attended, well setup and great weather, thanks Jonti, one for the calendar for next year..

26-Feb-11
We decided that seeing there was 2 events in the Bendigo area we would make it a full weekend and tackle some great caches and excellent hides in the company of Team Crackers.

We got near the event coordinates at 12.45 and catching up with a few other cachers we were informed that there was a lot of people attending. Sure enough as the clock got to 1pm cachers appeared from all directions which was drawing an even larger crowd of onlookers.

Within minutes log sheets were being handed out and as I took a position on a nearby elevated art work I was approached by 3 muggles who wanted to know what was going on.

The 45 second version of geocaching was explained and 3 muggles left to go and look up geocaching, I also noticed many muggles questioning other geocachers so maybe there will be a few new teams in the future.

As per a flash event in no time everyone dispersed and it was off for more caches before the evening pub event.

Our sincere thanks to Bendigo and 379Jonti379 for putting on this flash event, this was our 64th event and they are always fun.

Regards Mr.Coffee and the “we all love to flash in public places.lol” Coffee Clan.

26-Feb-11
Came here with 42below and Nalhcal. Got here and spied quite a few cachers we know. Good to see them again.
It was funny to see the faces on the local muggles when everyone descended on the cache.
Thanks for a great flash mob event

#1080 @ 1.00pm. Getting into town late with haveanez it was a matter of the boys dropping the girls whilst they went to find a place to park the 4WD's. An amazing sight to see the convergence of people once the brief case was opened, it had some locals and shop keepers a little perplexed Wink. Great to see a good turn out and the weather was certainly kind to us. Thanks 379Jonti379 for bringing us to the lovely city of Bendigo. TFTE - a great event, congratulations.

Thanks for organizing this. Great fun

26-Feb-11
I should have got FTF on this one. After all, I was first there at 9.30am and waited and waited..... at 9.59 I couldn't believe I was still sitting there on my own.... Time to check the Desciption.... Ah huh! I'm 3 hours early!!!! Got coffee nearby, and then headed off caching, only to return again later on with tackle_head. A well organised and well attended event. Well done Jonti! I'm sure to be back again next year. Enjoyed my first Flash Mob.

26-Feb-11
Over my first year of caching the opportunity to attend any events never crossed however 2 in one day what a buzz
daylight hours today found paths being crossed with other caches unlike a normal day [^]
Really good stuff Jonti

26-Feb-11
Yes, we were there, ate lunch in the mall and joined in the "Spot the Geocacher" game and an interesting experience it was! Had the grandies in tow, one of whom selected the lovely Yellow Traveling Bug for us to move along and had marvellous fun playing with it in the meantime. The youngest (18mos) who noticed how hot everyone was and endeavoured to spray them with water from the novel fountains. Our apologies, we hope no-one was offended didn't want to spoil a 'fun' event. Well done 379Jonti379 TFTC

Well @ first i was not going to go to this event but after doing another cache near home & having a spot of difficalty i did the PAF to get some help with it.
Well part of the conversation was em i going to the event my first reply was no then after compleating the cache i was looking for & heading back to the hairdressers were the GLW was getting her hair done i told here that there was an event on in Bendigo that i would like to go to, Her reply was lets go then.
So after getting out of the hairdressers we shot home threw a few things in the suit case made a couple of phone calls to get accomadation & off we troted.

The event was great. It was great to meet up with some old faces & just as great to meet some new faces.

Thanks to 379Jonti379 for holding the event.

26-Feb-11
Team Geotwins attended this event accompanied by our aunty and cousins, the Crazy Creels. A good event but we really just wanted to get out and find some "treasure"!

26-Feb-11
Our first flash mob, and a great excuse to visit Bendigo. We drove down from Wodonga this morning, picking up a couple of caches along the way. We arrived just in time. It was great to see so many cachers here, and funny to watch the curious locals trying to figure out what was going on! We're also using this as P18 on the Country Road Challenge cache

26-Feb-11
Managed to arrive at this one with a minute or so to spare, and suddenly everyone had gathered! A precious few minutes chatting, asking for hints, having photos taken, and then it was over! These Flash events are way too quick for my liking. Sad but many thanks to 379Jonti379 for organising it.

26-Feb-11
2nd ever Flash event for me. Great to see such a huge turnout. Sure had some of the locals puzzled Smile
Thanks Jonti for organising it.

Cheers

26-Feb-11
Just made it to our first Flash Mob with minutes to spare in the company of skullracing. The girls jumped out, whilst the boys found a carpark as we were running behind time! Glad we made it!
Enjoyed catching up with a few of the friendly locals and meeting some new cachers!
Quite enjoyed the quick event and watching the public staring and asking what we were up to! Big Grin
Many thanks Jonti for your efforts in organising the event. Looking forward to next years!

Thank you Jonti .a good turn out of cachers

26-Feb-11
Sorry my last log was meant to be "Attended" now "will attend". Lots of people standing around before and after the 15min spoiled the flash aspect but thanks for putting this on anyway.

26-Feb-11
Thats for my first Flash Mob Jonti379 interesting, people seemed to flock from everywhere. One minute no one then loads.

26-Feb-11
Interesting event by Jonti. I was surprised about the amount of people that suddenly appeared when he opened the cache. had lots of fun. Mitch

26-Feb-11
Had a lot of fun playing spot the geocacher before the event started and we did a pretty good job of it too. Those back packs, hats and lanyards from gps are deag give aways. Met a few new people and put a few faces to names. TFTC

Hmmmm, looks like this is the 2nd largest attendance at a NON mega event in Australia.... HOWEVER IF I MAY START A NEW RECORD, THE LARGEST ATTENDANCE AT A NON MEGA GEOCACHING EVENT THAT IS NOT IN A CAPITAL CITY!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! Smile

26-Feb-11
A couple of photos of the event.

26-Feb-11
Well, attended with Quasar3617. Got there with about 30 seconds to spare after running 600m from our parking spot. Great to see the crowd form out of nowhere, sensational. Caught up with a few local cachers including Purpledreamer, Lostmonster, Skullracing, Havenez, and some other teams from Melbourne C@H and Spladem. Great day, now time for a cold drink. Had my little boy James with me, who also made the run, and did it very well. Thanks Jonti for another fantastic event. Will be there next year if there is one (im sure there will be).

26-Feb-11
We arrived in the Mall with about 10 mins to spare with Team Geotwins and met up with Emma's JAM and Team Boofa. At 1pm, the swarm to GZ had the muggles heads turning. Another great event and an excuse to catch up with people we only cross paths with at these events. TFTC Jonti.

Yay, we made it to a flashmob this year!! Met up with quite a few familiar faces - we can even put 'real' names to some of them. Gee, there were a lot of people eating lunch in the Mall today. Then this fellow with a big silver case starts walking through and everyone gets up and follows him and takes a piece of paper and writes something on it and gives it back! There were quite a few muggle locals who were totally perplexed by all this! We geocachers were enjoying ourselves though. Glad to know that there is another event this evening where we can all socialise a little longer than 15minutes. TFTC and the fun 379Jonti379. Now it's off to find some Bendigo caches. Big GrinBig Grin

26-Feb-11
Great numbers again this year. Nice to see some familiar faces including ones I didn't know were cachers.

26-Feb-11
Great event to catch up with known caches and meet new ones... Interesting to watch heads turn as so many people moved to 1 spot... TFTC 379 Jonti 379

26-Feb-11
Whilst on holiday from France we happened to stumble upon a meeting in Bendigo which coincided with us staying with friends nearby, we we decided to attend !
Met a few geocachers in town whilst caching. An interesting event, we had 2 muggles ask us what was going on whilst we were stood there !
Dropped off Booby bird geocoin into the cache

26-Feb-11
Found @ 1.00pm, Find #712.
We arrived at the Mall a little early but we saw alot of faces we knew sitting around in different areas, we when for a walk around and came back in time to see the case arrive, not long after it was opened the mob swarmed in. We got in and signed our piece of paper, hang around for a little while, jumped in for the group photo and then we were off to find some more caches.
Thanks to 379Jonti379 for hosting this very successful flash mob event.

26-Feb-11
Our first Flash Mob Event. On arrival a bit early, we could see all the Melbourne local caches, but was surprised at all the Local Bendigo and other caches attend when the cache opened. Always good to catch up with fellow nutters. Even got to trade pathtags, yeah. Thanks 379Jonti379. TFTH

26-Feb-11
We wandered down tot e Mall early and found a place to have coffee and watch the hordes gather. While we spotted several groups we couldn't believe the numbers that swarmed when the case was opened. TFTC

26-Feb-11
This meet gave me a chance to return to Romax one of his cache containers that was washed out of its hiding place in the floods last year. Thanks Jonti for selecting good weather and attracting a great crowd.

26-Feb-11
Met up with the only other Geocachers I knew, my mentors Tigersden. In the lead up to the case arriving we discussed how the Geocahers in the mall all stuck out as groupings of people.
At 13:00 hrs when the case opened Tigersden and I moved forward to be the first to reach the case/cache, I noticed that so many people were still accessing the paper like (seagulls over a lonely chip on the beach, but I guess that's the comradery of the cachers), as I place my log back in the case (first in I believe).

Well done 379Jonti379 and congrats on the record and hopefully each and every year can get better and bigger

26-Feb-11
GREAT FUN

26-Feb-11
2011-02-26 13:22 #285 Arrived at the mall to see a few obvious lurkers about. Met up again with Carl am Debbie (IAMAPOM). When 1.00pm came a huge crowd suddenly converged on the cache and paper was grabbed to fill in the log. Sue said she heard shop assistants wondering what was going on! A very successful flash-mob. Collected some TBs. Dropped a TB. Swapped a pathtag

26-Feb-11
Arrived in plenty of time & noted lots of geocahers busy doing what one does before a Flash Mob. Case arrived, log was signed & photos taken. People at "country" Flash Mobs don't dispearse as quicly as they should which kind of detrats from the falsh part of Flash Mob.......
TFTC JONTI

26-Feb-11
Another good turn out. Looks like this will have to be a regular occurrance. Lots of old faces as usual, but I was able to meet some new people too. Thanks for organising this.

26-Feb-11
Attended the event which is a lot of fun with sully1 , Mingled and it was over so quick so I will look forward to next Meeting at the Mall event , tftc 379Jonti379

26-Feb-11
We attended this cache today ay 1:00pm as the 14th of 31 on our Tour de Bendigo XI. The only worry about these sorts of events is that you can't be late so you have to either time your previous caches really well or get there really early. I always love watching the muggles at these events who think that there is something going on that they should be a part of and can never quite figure out what is happening. Our 2nd Bendigo Event cache, 98th Bendigo cache find and 41st event cache attendance overall. Thanks from D & HA B-A.

Attended by PR&F and Geomum @ 1pm.
Geomum hadn't been to a Flash Mob (or any other event) before so she was looking forward to seeing how it all worked.
Lots of familiar faces, had a chat to many and before we knew it, the flash was over!
Made our way over to La Porchetta for a pizza before completing some finds to finish off the afternoon!
Thanks for the organisation 379Jonti379 and great attendance by all!

26-Feb-11
Attended by The Empire @ 1pm
As I was walking from my car to the Mall, squalid tooted his horn and took the car space next to mine. We head over and walked through GZ at about 12:50pm, we could spy plenty of geocachers we knew, trying to look casual. As we waited for 1pm pocketrocket and her geomum met us and we had a chat waiting for 1pm. When we saw everyone make a move, we did too. Muggles walking past thought someone was handing out free samples of something good! Unlike last year, I didn't get a FTF on this one!

26-Feb-11
Busy Saturday morning arrived at GZ bout ten minutes early. Sat down in the shade to enjoy a nice cold drink, As soon as the case was open everyone swarmed in with a lot of confused muggles standing on the sidelines wondering what on earth was going on. I took the opportunity to introduce myself to some cachers and have a chat. I also caught up with some familiar faces and was introduced to some of the locals.
I managed to somehow take out the FTF honer and was given a certificate and a pathtag from Jonti. Was a nice turnout enjoyed the time for chatting.
Thanks to 379Jonti379 for this event.
Cheers

26-Feb-11
Our 2nd Flash Mob in the Mall...another great turnout. Thanx Jonti for organizing it.

Another fun cache day thanks Jonti, congrats on breaking the record yet again.

26-Feb-11
My brothers event cache. Was fun a quick log then I had to leave so I could go shop ping with my friends Smile Thanks for the cache glad you broke the record.

26-Feb-11
Thanks for the event - the first of it's type for me. Met some people I knew and met many new!

26-Feb-11
Arrived just as the case was being opened, and watched people swarm in from all directions.
Good the hear the record was broken yet again.

26-Feb-11
TFTC. I suspect many cachers are pretty introverted. I drove 2hrs15mins there and the same back to Melbourne to visit this event and tried chatting to a few other cachers to get to know some people but it was really challenging getting into a convo with anyone bar the cache owner himself. I left feeling quite disappointed. I spoke with way more curious and friendly muggles today at the event than I did fellow cachers. Sad

25-Feb-11
Fantastic Event Jonti!!!
