It was quite chilly and blowing a gale up here, but we found the cache and enjoyed the wonderful views from this spot. TFTC
I had been wanting to go to Lake Onslow for years and no-one was ever that keen to come along, but today was the day! This unfortunately was the only cache I managed to find in the area but I did make it to the lake. It wasn't very exciting and I'm probably not going to return again!! The cache was located and I avoided those nasty spaniards, all is well with container - its nice and dry. TFTC
Focusing on driving and drove right past Oops
• doing an Onslow Saturday drive, and stopped here on the way.

On a tour of the area with kiscardi getting some caches. All good with the cache. Thanks
I shifted my snail shell to Roxburgh yesterday for a few days to enable me to locate and sign off a few caches up in thar hills.
Now I am on the road to Onslow Lake.
Cheers for the cache.

This was as close as we got to Lake Onslow today Thanks for the cache. Planned a bike ride but too cold and wet for that today so got my suv really dirty up here trying to get to Lake Onslow. Decided to head back before making our destination but will be back in drier weather
I was invited to Millers Flat for the weekend to wallpaper some feature walls in a new house. With two thirds of the work done on Saturday and 2 nights accommodation paid for, I decided to drive into the hills before tea at the pub. This was the first stop of the day, a great spot to claim the 2nd last dot of December.
Took a couple moments, was battling with the flax type plants with very spiky points, which ended up drawing blood on my legs.
Thanks Deano for the pain. Lol.

A quick find on the way towards Styx via Lake Onslow this afternoon. Signed log, TFTC!
Must've just missed a muster going by the stock signs still up but no one around the yards today. Found the cache and SL. Great day to take a drive to the lake. Thanks for bringing me here.
Found on a geoday with RowenaD and we are introducing some people to geocaching today. Wonder if they will get addicted to it too.
Noice place to park off the road at the Yards in the morning but the concern for passing traffic wasn't the case here until they started heading to the lake at 3pm that afternoon. Cache walked down noice and timely and grabbed the goods with PVC baggy for the 400ml after SL and throwing in some swag. All's well here Deane. TFTC Jim. Noice to log this addition to my BIG OE (Onslow-fisherman Experience) to Lake Onslow.
A quick park and grab on way up to Lake Onslow. Was very misty up here this morning got wet shoes while getting thus cache. Not much has of a view with the mist about. Grabbed a TB to take for a ride. TFTC
Found at 3:29:00 p.m. on 13/02/2015.
Heading over to the Styx via Lake Onslow - misty today but not too bad.
Pretty desolate spot to round up the old woolly jumpers

19.50: Heading home to dinner from visiting three lakes (Manorburn, Poolburn and Onslow) and a great day 4WD-driving with sometimes challenging moments. This was our last one just before going down into the valley of the Clutha. The landscape up here is just magnificent!
Weather: fine, sun, 10°C;
Wheelchair: no, high tussock with sharp edges...[xx(];
State: all good.
IN & OUT: nothing.
Thank you!

Found this cache a couple of years ago in February 2014 but forgot all about logging it until I was back in the area in the weekend (6 February 2016). Drove past and it all seemed very familiar, sure enough found my name on 16/2/2014.
Wainui Yards (Central Otago) was transferred from Onslow Fisherman to user Sonya and Deane
On my way to Central Otago I had a chance to check out some of Onslow Fisherman's caches. After dodging a couple of returning fishermen with their boats, the silhouette of the yards loomed up large. I managed to side step a few nasty Spaniards and soon had the cache.
tried to achieve this one several months ago, but got stopped by snow. Nothing like that today tho.
Quick drive by in the mist on the way to Lake Onslow - shame about the mist as we couldn't see anything but it cleared as we neared the lake.

Had planned on a bike ride to get "Is Berry Apt" at long last, however mechanical problems won and we have reverted to doing the trip by van.
got to within 1km from this one when a deep snow drift stopped us. probably have to give this one a miss now. But who knows...Manana
A very bitter-sweet find today after attending Harolds funeral today. A nice drive up the hill and then a muddy scramble along the Lake Onslow Road to the cache spot as the road was very wet. A quick find and a few minutes spent remembering a dear old mate in Harold and admiring his handy work and the view he would have enjoyed from this spot as he toiled away. Thanks OF for another great cache and RIP Harold.
This was as far up the road as we were gong today - now to have a closer look at those wind turbines.
Found on an excursion over the Lake Onslow road and through to the Upper Taieri valley.
It was from these stockyards that the clouds started to thin and we could see glimpses of blue sky. Meantime, it was a pleasure to view the fine craftsmanship of Harold's fair hands. Thanks Onslow Fisherman.

Quick find, classic placement. Good place to stop for refreshments while admiring the view. TFTC
Headed out on the bike pre-dawn for a 30 cache raid on the Lake Onslow/Millers Flat/Beaumont area. Over Old Dunstan Rd to Paerau and over to Lake Onslow. Saw at least three others caching in the area and played tag with one down the Millenium Track. She told me there had been a caching event in Roxburgh the previous day which probably explained the number.
A quick find at this roadside cache, it must have been heavy work building these, yards good work Harold.
After doing a few caches around the corner we finally found ourselves back on the correct track to Lake Onslow, after driving down the gravel road we finally got to GZ and I sent Mrs Yeetrees out to find this one which she found quickly without any issues. We were grateful that the yards we empty today and were able to sneak in and grab the cache without any issues, another nice spot for a cache, thanks for bringing us here, TFTC TNLNSL (3053)
Saw our first vehicle since leaving Roxburgh four hours ago here - a tractor cultivating the paddock.
+ a marble, - nothing.

A quick easy find at the mayoral yards, with an excellent view. TFTC

FTF A busy road today as a vehicle and boat passed by as we pulled up to begin the search, starting to get fairly high over here so there was great views all around.
