After a 600 km-ish drive from home to Pukekohe Raceway for the final hosting of Supercars action I just had to grab a cache before hitting the road again Sunday night to return home. That didn't fully go to plan as, due to the gridlocked traffic, it took almost 90mins to drive a couple of kms to this GZ. It was already dark when I arrived so couldn't really appreciate the area, but at least the park was empty. I suspect this cache may not be an easy grab during daylight hours. TNLNSL TFTC

It was the first Matariki public holiday thru NZ today, I had been down to Pokeno from Auckland a few weeks ago caching and spotted the info about this market day at the Pokeno community hall, so asked Mum and Dad if they wanted to come here for that, it was a bit of fun, hangi's, cooked sausages, bacon and egg sandwiches, were all available and we bought sausages from the famous bacon shop, ate a hot sausage outside their shop, then later big ice creams! Later a bite to eat at a cafe in Pukekohe. Great day.

So me and my parents have done Pokeno and now M+D fancy a bite to eat here at a cafe in Pukekohe. Mum's knee getting rather sore, and since she spotted the dragon thing, I took a foto of it to show her. it is rather interesting, the maker of it has some good imagination. No problem with the hide today, all is hunky dory, thanks for that.

13-May-22
Thanks - kids loved coming to the park and made a quick find . Better still we picked up a trackable called Sophie’s Dragon yesterday that we are going to take to Taupo, but we will definitely come back here first to take a photo with the dragon. We’ve been looking everywhere for dragons and forgot about this one .

Cool dragon, pretty stinky find

05-Mar-22
Quick find. Had muggles checking us out so had to wait until they stopped looking at us. Tftc

05-Mar-22

A nice quick find thanks. The dragon was keeping an eye on things!

Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Today we did a little cruising around to the Franklin area. Will this long hot summer never end?

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Nice day out caching with the girls.

07-Jan-21
This was the last find for us on a girls day out caching with Supernannny, Merlot58 and Nette1234. Quick find here and fortunately the cache was far enough away from Puff and the children playing in the playground.

07-Jan-21
Heading home after a day caching in Waiuku with Supernanny, Jag50 and Nette1234 we decided to collect a few in Pukekohe as we passed through. There were a few people in the playground but luckily we were far enough away to grab this one

09-Jul-20
We are staying close by so had to get this one
Many thanks

Looong time ago I came here to find mhhh nothing, since the cache was muggled. Then it became premium and I thought it was archived. And then I became premium Wink... And there it was, popping up at my screen again. So what am I waiting for? Got it. Nice and easy find. Tftc.

30-May-20
As we arrived at GZ we remembered coming to look for this one before, although can't remember why we didn't get it. Possibly could have been that there were too many muggles in the playground.
In any case, today there was no one around and we made a quick find.
Nice park and nice to finally gain a smiley. Thanks thejaybees.

The gz item has not yet been replaced. Was a bin for rubbish etc in the shape of a plastic dog. About the only good place for a cache. Give it another month if you can ..We are after all waiting for Auckland Council to replace the statue.

20-Oct-19
still waiting for Council to replace item

22-Sep-19
Council have still not replaced the item at GZ that the cache was under. Hope they do it soon.

10-May-19
Missing after fire. Will replace when gz is repaired

25-Apr-19
Decided to take a break from my studies and spend the day out caching. I offered to also take out my 2 nephews and niece along with me. We decided to head out to Pukekohe after picking up my nephew in Opaheke.

It looks like Puff has visited GZ as the entire area has been burnt and there is melted plastic everywhere. One of the kids had a quick look but couldn't locate the cache. I didn't search as there were too many muggles around.

14-Mar-19
Most undignified search!

11-Mar-19
Nice spot

16-Feb-19
With time to spare before I had to head to the airport and home, I continued to wander around Pukekohe finding a few caches along the way. The coast was clear while I searched. The only things watching me were the dragons. TFTC, Biggles.

16-Feb-19
No children muggles around today, so a quick search soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

02-Feb-19
Good hiding spot, thanks for cash

23-Jan-19
Yay. A quick find in between muggles with geo mermaid. My caching count may increase significantly in 2019 as geo toddler is no more and has finally become interested in treasure hunting. Replaced log as it had come apart and the official log has blown in the wind. TFTC.L

16-Jan-19
Great find. Thanks for the hint

28-Dec-18
On a day trip to Pukekohe we decided to get a few caches. We found this one easily enough, the playground being completely deserted. The cache was home to a large family of bugs which we sent packing (or rather toadless screamed and threw on the ground, which had the same result). We replaced the container as found (sans bugs). TFTC.

28-Dec-18
Found it

22-Oct-18

Geocaching day in Pukekohe. This part of the town visited on my bike. Once again ... Hi-vis jacket does the job at GZ. All good here. TFTC

02-Sep-18
We planned to take a walk at Duders today for Fathers Day morning but due to the heavy rain decided on Pukekohe for transformer finding and quicker grabs from the car.

This was the first stop and rain was quite heavy while we made the find - clue helped a lot under these conditions, TFTC.

26-Jul-18
Cache check. All good here.

23-Jul-18
On a 24hr mission to Auckland with Philip.Perry and three of my kids started caching at about 3pm getting back to accommodation at 330am then up and back on the road for a xouple of hours before heading home. We decided we had three caches we had to find this mission then the rest was all about getting our numbers up so concentrated on a high cache area. Meet Sethraven just on dusk who helped us on a cache we couldnt find before she headed home so that was great. Really enjoy caching in Auckland at night no traffic and no muggles to get in our way. We only had a few DNF caches for the day which isnt to bad. Thanks to all th CO for the caches.

22-Jul-18
Had a cheeky Auckland Mission on the cards this weekend and this was day two. It was a late one last night so today we figured we'd take it easy and try to clear Pukekohe out today before heading home. This was our fifth stop and the cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a good hint. Cheers thejaybees, TFTC Smile

24-Jan-17
Joining HKCB, 11hpg11 and iammrwalker on a geocaching mission to Pukekohe on a school night.

Wow that dragon was so cool! Wouldn't have found it if not for geocaching. Still not convinced about the recent rock craze though..

24-Jan-17
I decided to organise a mini night mission to Pukekohe before things got busier at work and found some other keen Geocachers in HKCB, 11hpg11 and Kyb3r to join me after putting the feelers out for any interested parties at a local event. We left about 7:30 once I got the kids into bed and left for home just after midnight. We had hoped to find more than we managed so we will have to come again and grab those we missed. A big thank you to all those CO’s for hiding and maintaining the caches we found.

I thought the dragon was super cool. Not just cool. Super cool. Painted rocks sitting on it, not so much, but each to their own. TFTC.

24-Jan-17
Out and about tonight, heading to Pukekohe to clean out a few caches with Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and HKCB. We only had a few hours to spare and so we left Hamilton at 7.30 and finished up just after midnight before it was time for home for a few hours sleep so we could all be bright eyed and bushy tailed for work the next day. (silly idea!) Perhaps next time we just keep going and don't sleep!

What a great playground! My son would have loved to see this one, will have to remember it if we are up this way. Found an Auckland Rocks Rock before finding the cache. Thanks for the hide.

24-Jan-17
Teamed up with Iammrwalker, 11HPG11 and Kyb3r for a night raid on Pukekohe. I've been wanting to find a few caches up here for a while but never had the time or other missions got in the way. Had heard talks of this night raid at an event recently and quickly put my hand up to tag along. It turned out to be a very successful mission, even with the handful of DNF's we had. A big thanks to the CO's who's caches we found. Signed the logs as HOAC to save room.

What a cool playground, cache easily found and even spotted a few of the "Auckland Rocks" nearby. Thanks for the hide.

23-Jan-17
Tftc!

20-Jan-17
Thanks!!

18-Jan-17
Woohoo awesome find

12-Dec-16
Found

11-Dec-16
Thanks for the hint! Magnetic

10-Dec-16
Did not find in tree

04-Dec-16
Replaced the log with a waterproof strip. Took old log away and found that many people do claim finds without writing on the log. Funny that.

01-Dec-16
Down in Pukekohe area to pick up some parts and thought would attempt a few caches on the way back to office.

Well this will have to be my last cache here today.

Parked close to GZ and with the area clear of muggle was able to make a very quick easy find.

Retreated to the park seats to sign the log and quickly returned cache to its hiding spot as walking back to the car.

Now back to work and am thinking "the traffic was shocking " excuse will have to suffice as to why I am a little late getting back to office....
