An enjoyable long weekend caching with friends around the Southern Tablelands.Quick find in a beautiful location. TFTC becon4046!
A cool and fun day of caching around the Central Tablelands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in ok condition. Some nice history here. Thanks!
I actually ended up right next to this cache by taking the wrong turn to get back to Mitchell hwy but I intended to find this cache anyway so it was really fortunate. An interesting monument and old tree. Thanks for highlighting the history and bringing me here.
Finally got this one checked off to clear my map in the Macquarie Woods. TFTC.
Catching up with late logs.We are traveling with Geoturtle 37, Papi4506 & The Drovers to do an assault on Bathurst and surrounds. We solved all the puzzles we could before we left home which was also an enjoyable part of this journey. We had a great time here in the Orangearea finding all types of cache sizes and hides but unfortunately we have got behind in our logging and are trying to catch up now.We can no longer remember the caches individually so we apologize for the generic log, it's certainly not meant to take anything away from our experience, it's just the old minds just ain't what they used to be.We signed the logs as The Mob.Many thanks for adding this piece to the game board for our enjoyment.
Team Crackers, The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and I are staying in Bathurst for a few days. Each day we head out in a different direction. This sounded quite interesting. When we arrived, we were concerned about climbing the fence but it seemed that it has been climbed often. GT37 was busy taking photos of the numerous Amenita muscaria in the area. You could smell them as you approached and couldn't help but stand on them. We had already had a cursory look where Mr Drovers eventually made the find. He helped those following, by making the container a little easier to access than what he had had to contend with. The weather was rather drizzly but didn't cause us any big issues. Eventually, we had the cache, signed it and returned it to where it was found. Thanks for placing it for us to find and pointing out this remaining tree.
Day 3 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today we did a lot of country driving, and included Orange in our travels. The scenery was lovely with the trees turning a multitude of different colours for winter. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped to find along the way.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Becon4046 & Alwyn255, for us and others to find.
I had deviated to grab some more caches before heading to Canberra.I parked up and made my way to this one. I soon sorted out access and found myself at said "tree". After a cursory look around I soon came up with the prize. There is some type of stick and stone arrangement going on on the ground near GZ. No idea what it was about - but I moved myself on.A great place for a cache. TFTC Becon4046 & Alwyn255
Passeb by the forest after not finding this cache in 2019, wasn't going to leave till it was found. Sucess
Tftc - came around the long way only to realise you can get through from the highway.

This was one of the closer out of town caches on my list, so I was keen to check out the area. Found a nice place to park, and once at GZ, I was surprised at the focus gone on here to look after this particular tree. It was great to see.

Cairns to Sydney Road Trip
Day Eight: Orange to Sydney.
Weather: nasty in the Blue Mountains.
Greetings from a transiting South Australian.
This is not the first example I’ve seen of a plaque being mounted where nobody is ever going to see it. Why an oak? I came face to face with some cows on the way in and enjoyed the view on the way out.
Thanks for the cache and the maintenance becon4046.

To much roadworks, cars up or ar$%. No chance to pull over for this one unfortunately.
The forestry people are going to have this closed for a while. If anyone sees it open please let us know as we only drive this way about once a month.
Drove out to check after a recent log and found the road is closed for tree harvesting.
Tftc, this is quite a big tree considering it was only planted in 1985.

fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out for a long weekend away. Basing ourselves at Macquarie Woods, we ended up visiting Orange, Parkes, Dubbo and lots of towns inbetween.
Day 3 saw us pack up camp early, finish the caches in the Woods then into Orange before heading home.
Quick find here today.

20,301. Found with minniek and albida33 during a Canberra Day Long Weekend caching meander around the Orange/Parkes/Dubbo regions.
A plan was hatched for the three of us to head up this way for some quality caching over the 3 days. Day 3 and we packed up camp before trying for all the caches in the Woods. Quick find on this one, finally knocking off a 7 year old DNF for me - Yay ! We were soon off to the next one. Being a Monday we had to dodge the logging vehicles which were everywhere.
Thanks becon4046 !!

Having based ourselves in Bathurst we enjoyed caching around the locality. So green now after the recent rain and we loved the scenery and history at many of the caches. This was one we targetted and found. Nice hide. Thanks to becon4046 for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
#313 On my way to the Australian National field days in Borenore. Quick stop to stretch the legs and a quick cache in hand. Why the fence? TFTC
Gosh this was a doozy. Searched high and low. Had to widen the search and it wasn't until I got my head and looked down and BINGO! Out in the open. the coordinates were 11m out on a sunny clear day. I placed it a bit closer to where the coordinates are. TFTC lovely area
We didn't have any luck finding the cache today but we did find a Highway patrol hiding behind a big pile of dirt......he soon took off once his hiding spot was found.....lol. Maybe a bit more of a look next time we are in the area.
Spent way to long here. A micro cache with no hint is like looking for a needle in a haystack. With no hint it’s no wonder most rocks are overturned as that is a potential hiding place. The autumn leaves might not have helped. Looked up the tree, no cigar. Theskype second eyes did not help either. Those that found it need a medal.
On our way home to Sydney after a camping Easter in Macquarie Woods Recreation camping Area we took some back roads towards Bathurst. We stopped at the side of road and jumped over the barbed wire. Searched all over the place - but today was not the our day for us.
Our last day in Bathurst and surroundings grabbing caches, puzzles that have been solved and multis along the way.
Thank you to all the COs for their hides.

Third big day around Bathurst, finishing of the TRLT trail and picking up multis and puzzles. Finally the weather is a bit more human but still warm. Again really enjoyed the great surroundings and views. Thanks again for putting out all these caches. And thanks to J+J.AU for joining me in this adventure.

Only had a few minutes to search for this one whilst we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately DNF.
A quick find in good condition. This is very definitely a tree. Impressive old specimen. Easy access by a quick crossing of the fence with surprisingly accurate GPS direction today.

Took some finding, but only after reading past activity for a subtle hint. Nice drive. TFTC
Took a while but good to be successful! Enjoyed the drive while camping at Macquarie Woods. Tftc.
Found today, After hubby searched for this and another one not far from camp yesterday. He came home disheartened and we decided to come back this morning. What a cheer went up when he found it, put a smile on his dial it did. And rightfully so! Persistence does pay off thanks for the cache And for bringing us to this spot. A fave point given for the oak and the cache
Previously logged under team account BoogieRogue. Re-logging with my individual account. Found it on the way back to Bathurst. TFTC
What a beautiful old Oak. If it was only planted in 1985, does that mean it was already mature when planted? Fence looks about the right age.
Got to work finding this one. I figured where I would hide it and spent some time narrowing it down due to seasonal change.
Camo and cache are separated - glue not gluing.
TFTC and bringing me here to find this cool spot... and the cool camp spot along the way. Took coordinates for that for next visit.

This is a great cache but DNF this time around, glad we read the clue first to be able to get to the spot but after quite sometime looking still no luck
Phew, after reading the description was the first thing I checked. Nice spot thanks for placing.
Took a few minutes but eventually found it, it's a tricky one! One of my favourites
Finally found it! Lots of searching but uncovered it with a bit of Persistence. Found with hanabanana
Finally found it!
Fifth time out here looking for it and I finally found it with roboteel.
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this cache because of how long it took me to find it.

It was checked at the end of last year and it was all good. But now it has gone - maybe the 'roos play soccer with the rocks. We have placed a bison temporarily which should be easy to find until we can decide on a more permanent cache.
As soon as we saw GZ we knew we were in for a search but didn't think it could be that hard. How wrong we were! Leaf litter, big tree, lush growth........the more we looked the more hides there seemed to be. Another DNF for the growing list.
Went several times around the tree. No luck. Thought of another possible after leaving. Will be back!
It was getting dark as I jumped the fence into the 'woods', after a quick look about I doubted I was going to find it, so I left.
That pine forest sure did look spooky in the dark.

Back again for another poke around the woods
And in a familiar spot, I failed, after a whole half hour, to find this cache ..... again [:o]
This sure is a toughen !!
But today I left with another DNF frown upon me dial

Bugger, bugger, bugger! Finding GZ is easy, but finding a micro in a place like this is downright frustrating. [:(!] It's gotta be there, so I've re-read ALL the logs to syphon out any clues; other than ringing a friend. Camped nearby for a couple of days, I will be back.
Great spot to be this morning with sun rising over the forest. Didn't find the cache but thanks for the location.
After a long drive into the forest and an even longer (it seemed) search for the cache, we were almost ready to give up. Reread a couple of the logs and decided to look in a slightly different search pattern. Fortunately we managed to start on the correct side and found it almost immediately.
We did notice as we were leaving that if you're heading toward Bathurst and not away from it, there appears possible there is a safe off road area/rest area not far from the cache and an access gate - while you couldn't drive through, it would then only be a short walk to GZ.
But the drive through the forest is definitely pretty and worth it IMO.
Thanks for the cache. Favourite point for the history, views and ingenuity of the hide.

This was an awesome hide. Just about ready to give up but Genghicat & I decided to have one more go.
Talk about annoyance - Genghi found it where I thought I had looked previously.....but I must have had a "boys look" haha
Fave point for me for the ingenuity of the cache & for bringing us to a wonderful little spot we would otherwise have missed.

What a beautiful drive! Very sneaky hide like many people said its a shame so much on this site has been disturbed! Its Outside the fence!
This one has been on my to do list for far to long , today I was able to stop and look , access to the forest is easy via the fallen tree across the fence near the gate. Took about 3 min once I worked out what type of hide it was. Strange place for the plaque. TFTC
