What a cool tree. Went for a nice walk along the path while out caching. Searched the tree thoroughly with 5 adults and 1 child. No sign of a cache.
Our mission today is to clear as many of those little green boxes off our map of Otumoetai and Matua. We spent almost an hour here. Not trying to dodge the rain, but find this cache. Looked in all holes above, at and below head level, but no luck. Phoned a friend who has found it and got a heads up, but still, nothing.
First and only DNF for the day.

Was very busy today with muggles walking by after the heavy rain yesterday and such a nice day today.
Had given up trying to find it, and then one of the kids found it. Sneaky location. Thanks
It was lying on the ground in full view. Has lid ok but no pencil so couldn't write in log. Replaced it in hole.
Cache had come apart. Reassembled and logged. Tftc

Wow what long skinny arms you have Grandma. All the better to get the cache my dear.
After hosting "A Numbers Event" I decieded to leave town and collect a few caches of my own. We had a 70's party tonight so came over early (without costume) and cached and ate and cached.
Nice little walk once you negotiate the parking around the strengthening of the sea wall, manged to reach the cache without trouble

Found today while on a misson to clear up the matua caches we haven't done.
It is great to see all the work that is being done along this walkway.
A great tree for the kids to play around and perfect for placing this cache.

Joined the steady stream of muggles on the beach walk this evening. Arrived at a truly massive, old tree. Neither fire nor salt water have harmed this beauty. I was surprised to find a reasonably large cache here. TFTC.
Lots of muggles out and about enjoying the afternoon sun! Had to time my run over to GZ to extract the cache from its location. Quick sign of the log and replace before heading off to the next one. TFTC!
Went out for an evening bikeride. Hmmm it was already getting dark. I needed light for this one, so took the light of the bike. It was a bit strange for me by myself looking for this cache.
A concerned runner stopped for a moment when I was just sitting (hahaha). Found it and was amazed that it is still there, would expect that mugglers will find this little one just as easy as we do.
Did love the hidingspot.

found it easily enough, it was just waiting for a point where we could get it out without looking suspicious
Found after quite a bit of searching --- His arms were long enough, She just signed the log!!
Got some odd looks from some muggles who wandered past particulary an older gentleman who looked quite concerned about us!!!

7925 Nice hide… we have a similar concept cache up in Auckland, great spot and some impressive houses nearby, TFTC.
The tree full of spiders. My friend (a girl) didn´t like this cache, I think and understand:), but I did. TFTC!
Up early to do a few caches before the business day. Nice quick find after short search. TFTC.

Spotted the hiding place quickly. Arms only just long enough to get the cache. Bit cold and windy today. Tftc
What a cool tree - amazing weather today so took longer to put back than to collect due to all the muggles
2.50pm. This one took about 15 minutes to extract. Kept having to move aside for passing muggles. And then having to extend my arm with a stick. Great to eventually get it.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Visited this awesome tree before leaving the Bay (for now). Loved it! Picked up 'Bundesfestung ulm' geocoin, will deposit elsewhere soon.
As the path is still officially closed, we walked along the beach, but judging by the number of locals who passed while we at the tree, the signs are ignored, and the fence has been moved a little so people can get past. When we eventually found the cache location, Mac Ross's stick was helpful. TFTC

Path was blocked off because of storm damage, but we were not going to let that stop us. Walked along the beach a short way instead. Amazing old tree - soon spotted the cache. Thanks.

Someone certainly had a go at burning this old beauty down. So glad they
couldn't as where else would you hide a cache nearby.
Long arms helps a bit here.
Cheers for the cache.

#806 Yes we too ignored the signs and just made our way to GZ had to persuade the other half of the team that I could see the cache, just couldn't reach it. took a few minutes to extract. SL. TFTC.
nice area, hard not to look outoff place when you are on a racing bike and bike suit wandering around in the bushes. never mind found the cache and it was a good ditraction from my 4 hour bike ride before church this morning.
track is closed at each end . unsure why but if you are careful make the small walk beyond the danger zone
magic morning

The path to this cache has been closed off but given the tide was out I could just walk on the sand and not the path. Arrived at GZ and commenced the search. There were a few possible hiding spots but found it quickly. The hiding hole with the cache also unfortunately has a few bottles thrown in there. My hands were too big to reach them to take them out though. TFTC
Wow! Didn't realise there had been so much damage to the path. Also a little damage to me...! In my efforts to quickly put the cache back-before muggles got too close-I wasn't really looking where I was stepping, and got a big scrape on my shin from a branch.Ow!
TFTC. Good hide Are you coming to the geocaching event next week?
