I love the double container method. It keeps everything dry. I was brought up on the West Coast and had just moved to Christchurch as a boy when the Inangahua earthquake struck. TFTC and the memory.
After parking my snail shell up at the Racecourse in Reefton I, along with FN1970, travelled up Inangahua way to sign up off a few caches.Once we had found the correct downpipe we found the cache.Cheers for the cache, weenz.
On our way to Nelson, stopped off for a breather and leg stretch. Thanks for the cache, weenz. Took nothing, left nothing, travellers visited and the log was signed.
Got muggled out if this one last time. Nice to have a quiet search. Gps was a bit out. Not at front.
Reefton to Nelson today - though a longish journey we grabbed a few caches on the way. Here we checked a few places before the cache was foundAll goodTFTCTim and Viv - ddm
We searched everywhere But we couldnt find Cache today 6/1/24 will stop and look again next year
Day 8 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today our tour is going from Punakaiki to Nelson. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

Finally found cache. So many changes of location was confusing. Read previous logs and be prepared to look everywhere.

Stopped to use the facilities and discovered there was a cache. No problems finding it. Plenty of room on log sheet for our signature. TFTC
It's been moved away from CO ords. Now left front corner behind rocks. Pill container. Needs new log. Sorry no paper on me.
I stopped here back in May on my way back from walking the Old Ghost Road. It was raining, my feet ached, and I looked in the wrong place...it turns out.
This morning, on my way to Punakaiki, I stopped again and looked for some different options. I found one nearby and it was far more sensible cache-hiding location.
Tucked it back with my name in the log.
Thanks weenz

#10,141. Day 5 of the southern road trip. Infoferret and I decided to travel around the top of the South Island after the Mega event in Auckland at Labour weekend was postponed. Its been a great opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of Canterbury and Westland. After staying overnight in Westport we are making our way today to St Arnaud and Murchison today. The weather has been great so far on the trip. Like an early summer. But this morning its light rain and drizzle.
We have now reached Inangahua. I was too young to recall the earthquake in 1968 but I was aware it was one of the biggest shakes on the NZ mainland in the 20th century. We parked by the hall and IF went one way and I went the other. She was right, I was wrong. Cache was found by the team. Signed and replaced the cache where found. Thanks weenz for hiding it here.

Coords took me to two wrong places, but then I expanded a bit to the right one. All the while, the lady across the road kept yelling that the toilet is closed. I'm nit used to working with an audience. TFTC.
If you don’t succeed first time try another down pipe. Yes lady across road calling out also
Couldn't see it but woman opposite was shouting at me about the museum being closed. Didn't stop for a close look.
Old Ghost Road done...boots off...change of clothes...time to head home picking off some Park and Grabs on the way.
I managed to *not* find what many other people have.
Ce la vie.

We couldn't find this two years ago so we were keen to find it. Couldn't believe it as there was a digger almost at gz and everything closed off. I told the digger driver's assistant what I was doing. He raised his eyebrows and said ok. I was in and out before he'd had time to think about it. Thanks for the cache
Has been heavy rain over the last 2 days of our holiday, so decided to do a roadtrip to explore Reefton for a day. Well, despite the dire forecast we had warm sunny weather and it didn't rain until 3pm, so how lucky were we!
Enjoyed this visit as we were in Chch at the time and felt the earthquake strongly.
The museum is closed and under repair, which was hilarious as the workers chatting inside had no idea we were outside skulking around under their noses! Good clue led to an easy find.
Cache is all good. TFTC

It was behind the second one I checked.
Quick find though, but we tried to get this a couple of days earlier on the way into the Coast, but two trucks were parked RIGHT THERE, one offering assistance to the other. Flat tire, I think. That meant a handful of spectators, so the cache find was left for today. TFTC weenz.
Driving home from Little Wanganui to Brightwater, then on to Blenheim. I had a pass from RG1972 to fill my boots on any caches I wanted, so I made a loose hitlist and we worked through them until I got either too bored, too tired, or more likely, too wet. It started off torrential but surprisingly eased later in the day. In fact we enjoyed some good sunny periods despite the forecast looking dodgy in all places we visited. And a good number of caches - ones that I have ignored on previous drive-bys. Nice to knock some of these off. All logs signed ricnz if not enough space. Thanks all for the caches.

Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 139th cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, doing caches as we go ... driving up through the Buller Gorge, stopped here for an easy park & grab ... need to watch out for nearby 'muggles', GZ is somewhat exposed ... good to add another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,873 for us.
Cycling from Murchison to Westport and needed the Wonder of the world in this and the next Cache. So had to stop.
Been pasted this cache a few times and thought I might stop sometime a quick park and grab thanks weenz
Easy find with @peadub while on a grand geocaching tour of the South Island. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
Thanks weenz for placing this cache
Sadly the place was closed when I visited in August, however the cache was in great condition

Day 16 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Greymouth/Westport/Blenheim. Again the weather was great. Many caches through here and chose a few at random to collect. Had to get an earthquake related one though. Thanks.

(# 5444). Today is day 9 of my West Coast trip. Today I am traveling from Westport to St Arnaud. Main goal was the Brunner Peninsula Walk. A quick find. Everything in order. Would have liked to have gone to the museum but it was closed. TFTC
Quick stop in Inangahua to snag and tag this one. Cheers. No shaking ground today. Museum all closed up. Will visit another day.
Its just gone noon and the Team is back together and we are heading home. But time for a few stops along the way where parking is available for Zara and Toby.
Its off on another geotour this weekend with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby. We spent last Sunday in Nelson collecting the gemstones from the Museum Heist, so this weekend we are on a Geotour to the Westcoast with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, to return the gems. Saturday we visited Denniston, Kawatiri River Trail and Tauranga Bay. The gems have been successfully returned to the Museum. So lets see what else we can find while here. Thoroughly enjoyed walking the Cape Foulwind Walkway Sunday morning.

Doing random stops wherever Zara and Toby fit for Taybeedragon's benefit, on the way home from a big day in Westport.
Had a quick look and nothing ...now I had a serious look the hint made sense ...I searched the pile all around nah ...then the next pile ...and under the steps nah ...I am off to spec savers now
We stopped to look around the museum's collection of press clippings, photos and memoirs.
Same as our last visit some years ago- Really needs a professional makeover to become a tourist attraction. But Mrs D couldn't find the cache! Lunch at the local store, sitting on bean bags on the verandah... coolest place on a stinking hot day. Apparently the pies are made daily by the owner and, yes, they are very nice indeed. And the cup of tea was very civilised. So, energised, back for another search. Three possible places fitting the hint. This time Mr D searched a place Mrs D had already felt thoroughly... the one at GZ... and pulled out the eclipse tin. Phew! No signature from the last online loggers, BTW.

Spent ages looking for it after expanding our search area but no sign of the cache...

Netter kleiner Ort .
Vielen Dank für das Abenteuer vor Ort .
Gruß sulu .
Sorry for the late log entry, but the memory is still there .

22210 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we went from Greymouth to Nelson, via Punkaiki and we had all day, so we made many stops. Allong the road we found many caches, but we also visited the Pancaces and Windholes. The caches brought us to many special remarkable places.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Muggles did not watch what we were doing.

Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

I had stopped here back in 2011 and had what I remember to be a half-hearted look for the cache. This time, I had more time but my GPSr directed me to a slightly different location where I made an instant find. I popped in to the museum and spent about 10 - 15 minutes there but I really needed at least an hour; I knew a reasonable amount about this region's history but there was still a lot of interesting and surprising information. I will need to return. TFTC, weenz.
Pulled over on our way to Murchison and a quick find.
