Logs
Wow, where do I begin. Parked about 250m away. Donned a jumper to cover arms. Blackberries everywhere. I was determined to come away with a find after committing myself to this challenge. Persistence paid off, I got close enough to spot the cache, then step by step, made my way to GZ, carefully pulling off blackberry vines with every step. Signed log, replaced and got out of there.
No luck here. Ground soaking with water and covered with blackberrie brushes searched everywhere I could. After getting scratched from thorns, I left without reward
Reperio 11:25Well what an adventure this one turned out to be. Having searched for this one some time ago when the entire area was under water, I didnt give much hope that it would still be there.Today, I had an e or Ted phone call from Team Webguy who needed a little assistance getting the 4WD out of some mud, so I joined up with Webguy and Danger Queen to go in search of this one again. Today the area was much drier, and after some careful navigation of the blackberry bushes, we searched around until we spotted something that looked likely. Sure enough, the cache was still there. Woo hoo! Unfortunately, the cache log book is about as soaked as you can get, so there was no chance at signing the it. So nice to have this one ticked off, and great to catch up with friends and new cachers. Gratias Smelly BootAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Team Webguy and I called on Marcus Vitruvius, and after playing around in a mud puddle and meandering through blackberry, we turned this one up!Log was soaked and unsignable, photo for evidence.
Found 10m NW of coords. Sign is sleeping. Too rough 2 cycle but bitumen driveway across train line
fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out for a long weekend away. Basing ourselves at Macquarie Woods, we ended up visiting Orange, Parkes, Dubbo and lots of towns inbetween.
albida had found this one previously so some intel on getting to GZ and then knowing what to look for was very helpful. Still took a bit of finding as the coords are out but amazingly the log book looks brand new!

20,246. Found with minniek and albida33 during a Canberra Day Long Weekend caching meander around the Orange/Parkes/Dubbo regions.
A plan was hatched for the three of us to head up this way for some quality caching over the 3 days. This was the next stop, and once we widened the search we found the 'sign' and the cache.
Thanks Smelly Boot !!

We parked near the track entrance and walked in. From a distance we thought we saw a good hiding spot, but our GPSs said we still had 30+m to go. So on we went, got to where our GPSs said 0m and searched. We expanded our radius and searched some more. Eventually we conceded defeat and returned to the car. We stopped on the way to search that spot that looked good, but couldn't find it there either.
Some "work" in Orange & Parkes (from the central coast) this weekend. Up early this morning with teamdanser to hit some Orange caches before heading west. With a D/T like this and some unloved to boot, how could we pass this one up? Pulled up on the trail a little south of GZ and we wondered around for a while trying to get some ideas. I even stepped right over the cache early on in the search as teamdanser eventually had CIH about 15 mins later as I was starting to lose hope. I laughed once I realised what I'd missed - nice hint! Cheers, Smelly Boot.

Tried to attack this from a few different angles. Best route was crossing the tracks. Very overgrown, wouldn't attempt this in summer. TFTC
Nice find while driving around the area from cache to cache.
Had logged as DNF in error!

No rain round here, not today and not dor a while im thinking. Quite overgrown a d not a great place to be tramping around in thongs but of course thats what im wearing. No snakes seen a few blackberry scratches all ina good cause. No idea why it's been mote than 6 mths since a find here but cache is all dry and functional. Tftc smelly boot . Fav point from me today for my adventure
Orange trip April 2016. A long day caching in the area leading towards Orange via Cudal and Wellington. I made this one harder than it should have been. A few bear traps on place to slow down the arrival. GZ was quite a bit different than my GPS but the clue helped a lot.
Thanks.

What a journey! Track is overgrown and blocked by fallen trees... Coords may be off. Dangerous in Summer... Poor Lolkatz88 was acostered by a seething army of meat ants! Need more clues, wasn't sure what we were looking for. High snake alert area. During the fracass, we lost our geocaching pencil. If anyone finds it... It's an IKEA pencil. Please take a photo of it if found \

Didn't find it today but did find over growth and an eroded path, that was blocked by a tree further up.
Had left this one for a rainy day and today was that day. But it happened to be a beautiful sunny day. I know that makes sense.
Wandered around and had read the clue and finally it made sense to me and I made the find. Certainly did not find it quickly.

I hope you enjoyed Aotearoa.

Found it! I was on my way to Dubbo when I realised I was close to this one. Walked the last 120m or so. SL TNLN TFTC

Found on an afternoon Caching run while visiting sunny Orange. Aswell as Katsumar and GeoSon2 we had 3 new cachers with us who seemed to have a lot of fun too.
I am glad I read the previous logs about the track as I hate to think what would have happened to our car if we hadn't.
Nice placement.
Thanks for the Cache, Smelly Boot!

A couple of days ago I had tried to find a couple of other caches in this series
One was a no go after running into a closed gate late in the day and me just not being keen enough to continue
The other was a success after bouncing the geomobile from one end to the other of the Rainy Day Road.
But today's challenge was a different beast altogether [:o]
This road actually still had lots of wetness, despite a lot of dry weather
The drive from the southern end to GZ was fairly uneventful, but I suggest you don't try to drive the family sedan down here
With a great little cache find in me paws I could continue my Rainy Day drivie.
Hey !! Nice camo too !! That must be the olde railway siding sign
A great bit of railway history [^]
So I continued the drive to the other end of the road
From GZ the 'road' deteriorated rapidly [:o]
I ended up in a situation where I had negotiated one muddy bit and ended up in what I can only describe as a trench [:o]
I didn't fancy trying to reverse the geomobile out, that would result in a bogging for sure.
So forward was the only way.
Forward did not look very nice
I proceeded on foot to check out a possible way to get to the other side of a muddy hole.
With a muddy hole to for'ard and aft I had to go forwards now 'cos I couldn't turn the geomobile around in the trench [:o]
OK!! Another obstacle passed and yet another bit of bogginess presented itself !!
Do I continue or take the muddy way back out ?
NO!! I was going to get the geomobile to the other end come hell or highwater
I think I spoke too soon
Worse was yet to come !!
Aw c'mon, I can see the cars on the nearby road just a hundred metres away.
But the mudhole appeared impassable
Or maybe not ?
One last option around the bog presented itself.
And there had better be no trains !! [:o]
Woo hoo !! I only had 80 metres to go to the other end of the Rainy Day trail now and only a short stretch of muddy stuff to go
Well that was a half hour well spent [^]
After turning onto the main road, I took a certain delight looking in the mirror to see a muddy trail on the bitumen behind me for the next couple of kilometres
TFTC and challenge to drive from one end to t'other [^]

Good find. Road closed. TNSL left Shawn the sheep. Our iPhone was a bit off target. Kept jumping around.

GPS jumping around a bit, but finally came up with the goods.
Thanks Smelly Boot.
Thanks Smelly Boot.
Found with Alcan4x4 on a caching weekend.
This track did test the new geomobile as the water from the previous night's storm was still flowing in the wheel ruts.

It was a dry day after rain and it was still pretty hard on the very soft terrain. I made it down to GZ but had to reverse out most of the way. Good hide in a very quiet spot. Thanks Smeely Boot for your cache, I enjoyed getting out to do this one from Orange.

Lucky it wasn't too wet or I would of had to walk. Drove right to GZ easy. The hard part was turning around...............took a minute or 2 to find it.
Now into town for lunch.

We did not think this was the right road at first but we soon arrived at where the GPS said GZ was and took the find quick smart. The Jack Russels near by nearly gave us away but we used enough stealth to get away with it.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks for the cache.

Cache dry and in a good location 2nd try for Mr R but this time we weren't disturbed by muggles. Thanx for the cache
Drove straight on in in 2WD but still a big muddy so put it in 4wd to turn and exit so not to do to much damage to the road. The road was recently graded up to this poin and the obstruction cut and partially removed to allow access further on. After searching other areas, I decided the widen my search and spotted the hiding place. TNLN Thanks Smelly Boot.
Found this one! Decided to make the trip from home on the mountain bike and found it a really enjoyable ride. The mountain bike was just what I needed when I got close as the description suggests a 4WD will only get you so far. TFTC
