Find# 11588Nice quick find.Travelling for work affords us the opportunity to find the occasional cache along the way. TFTC Smelly Boot 30 July 2024
Second stop on a little Bathurst to Orange and return caching trip. Nice quick find at GZ. TFTC
We are spending a few days in Bathurst, and today we decided to take a road trip to Orange and visit briefly. We stopped here on the way through to visit this old historic cemetery and found a lovely Hide along the way. Thanks Smelly BootDomsky
Just as I pulled up the largest mob of kangaroos I've seen ,took off. Great views of the surrounding country.. tftc smelly boot. Just love the history these places must have if only they could talk.
Catching up with late logs.We are traveling with Geoturtle 37, Papi4506 & The Drovers to do an assault on Bathurst and surrounds. We solved all the puzzles we could before we left home which was also an enjoyable part of this journey. We had a great time here in the Orangearea finding all types of cache sizes and hides but unfortunately we have got behind in our logging and are trying to catch up now.We can no longer remember the caches individually so we apologize for the generic log, it's certainly not meant to take anything away from our experience, it's just the old minds just ain't what they used to be.We signed the logs as The Mob.Many thanks for adding this piece to the game board for our enjoyment.
Team Crackers, The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and I are staying in Bathurst for a few days. Each day we head out in a different direction. The weather was rather drizzly but didn't cause us any big issues. We soon had the cache in hand, signed and returned to where it was found. Thanks for placing it for us to find
Day 3 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today we did a lot of country driving, and included Orange in our travels. The scenery was lovely with the trees turning a multitude of different colours for winter. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped to find along the way.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Smelly Boot, for us and others to find.

A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
I see dead people. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 8: Its time to leave Bathurst and venture a little further north west to Orange. Trying to dodge the weather along the way.Once we found our way in the cache was soon found although avoid the prickly trees!!Thanks Smelly Boot for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! OCW Geospark62. After a previous DNF we were passing by and saw that it had just been “dug up” by the last finder so we thought we would have another look. On his hands and knees Geospark62 came up with the goods. TFTC

Headed out today to grab a cache, and decided to check out this one as it wasn’t too far from home. In looking at the previous logs, I wasn’t sure if I was going to find anything here, but fortunately after a short search, the cache was found well buried.

After collecting a nearby History of’ cache this one was within an easy distance with a path recently mowed. But it seemed to me to be on private property and having got the neighbour’s dogs on high alert already thought it wise to move on.
There are significant road works at the turnoff from the highway, no access basically. I approached from another direction.
Next time…

Just passing through but spent more time than I should have and have come up empty.
We have decided to stay one night in the forest. After setting up camp we headed out to do the caches that were a little further away leaving us to explore the forest in the afternoon.
We were quite surprised to see so many people at the camp ground, quiet a few look as if they have been living here for some time.
We enjoyed our drive around the area, some very scenic locations.
We searched for this on a previous occassion. Today it was quickly spotted.
We replaced the wet log book.
Thankyou Smelly Boot for placing this cache.

Looks like an animal might of had some fun and chewed the edge. Found out in the open and replace back according to the clue. TFTC.
Relatively easy find. Had a good walk around the cemetery which I didn't know existed (have lived in Orange for 45 years). Thought it was time to go when we saw a black bellied red snake in the graveyard!
Yay!!! What a fascinating little place. Much easier than expected phew.
Over in Bathurst region trying to pick up 25 unique cache D/T ratings in a day. It has been such an epic adventure trying to secure them all - we have certainly travelled far and wide!! Glad for all the prep and planning before hand and the few back up caches we included in the list, or we never would have made it.

We moved to Macquarie Woods today from Bathurst as it is such a lovely place to camp. We enjoyed our geocaching between here and Orange. Day 2 of our taste of the Central West roadtrip, today we we heading to Gundagai from Bathurst, via Parkes. It was nice to see the smoke dissipate as we got further west, but it never seemed to depart altogether, beautiful weather, although the pouring rain we did this leg in before would have been welcomed also.....
We were nearly off to a shaky start, this one taking way too long, before it was found in what should have been the first place checked (thoroughly). TFTC!

Took a different route to my hometown in order to pick up finds in some new LGAs. This was the fourth of eleven today which would cover 8 local government areas, 800km and 12 hours in the drivers seat.
Thankfully a quick find here on this hot but quiet day

With all the holes, it looked like the settlers were trying to escape. Found the cache with its weathered, black log sheets and added something more water resistant. Thanks Smelly Boot.
Found with Justjessie on a "History of", "Road less traveled" and all the other caches in between four day blitz. Had a great time and saw some awesome countryside. TFTC.

Together with my son I embarked on a six day road trip from Sydney via Bathurst, Parkes and Dubbo to Bourke and back to Sydney via Mudgee. In total we clocked over 1,700 kilometers and along the way we stopped almost 90 times for grabbing a roadside cache.
Day 2 of the road trip with a drive from Bathurst to Dubbo via Parkes. The day started with overcast and once we were outside of Bathurst, we were amazed to see a fine layer of snow on the country side. The cache was found with no living soul around.

My third day off an Easter camp caching holiday at Carcoar dam. Today I had gone towards Orange for a couple of power trails and the various caches along the way.

Our 49th cache on this trip.
Yet another quick find.
Nice quiet out-of-the-way spot.
Interesting history lessons at these places.

Quick find on the way to Orange. What an interesting place! One we would have never seen if not for this cache! Tftc!
Found it on a wet Good Friday while heading towards the Central West for the long weekend. A nice quick find thanks to the hint we saw a large rabbit hole and a couple of circling Falcons. TFTC
This was quite the historic stop. My mum also came along and really enjoyed the scenic drive
Another cemetery cache, but I'm glad that we didn't have to go poking around in disrespectful places. I couldn't read one of the headstones, but another indicated a death and burial in the 1880s at a young age. It always makes me think about our pioneers when I come to a place like this, that I would not have otherwise visited. Thanks Smelly Boot for this one.
Easy find and found a couple of families that I am researching here in this quiet place. TFTC.

Bikerbuddy found the cache quickly. While he did all the log signing duties, I started looking at the old graves. There seemed to be a trend for poetry on the engravings at one point in time.
Thanks

The cache was found easily at the entrance of the cemetery and then we took a look about. It's always interesting to see how early some of the graves are. Thanks for taking us there.
