This is my second consecutive day in the Franklin area visiting caches.

There had to one cache that had to be a DNF and it is this one. Clambered all over it but to no avail.

Damm. foiled by the tide again.......

Every-time we come up this way we stop by here on the faint hope the tide will be out enough for a search.....curse mother nature!!! *grin*

Another very frustrating one! We took 3 visits and still haven't found it. The GPS has been a little bit shady around here but we still climbed all over the tree and up the side of the bank with no luck. Is it still there?

13-May-11
Pushed the kids in the mountain buggy from the access point 100m east. A bit muddy, but there is nowhere that buggy can't go! Did some climbing and spotted the cache a short distance away. TFTC

24-Apr-11
Found GZ ok. Climbed up and searched with no success. Will try again another day.

13-Mar-11
Well this eventually was a quick find after we had elimianted the impossible. TFTC.

13-Mar-11
first time at the beach and tide was low enough to make it round the head to GZ, a bit of hunting and climbing later and the cache was ours. TFTC.

25-Feb-11
Our second find for the day. Luckily, for us the tide was out so was able to walk around the point to GZ. We had real trouble getting a good reading from the GPS here, so had to rely on the hint and recent logs to find. Hint was bang on and after about 15 mins spyed its hiding hole. Do not recommend wearing jandals here - very muddy and slippery! TFTC!

06-Feb-11
Reasonably quick find, after trying a few holes finally decided to go a bit higher and... ooooh, there it is! Luckily for us the tide was well out so managed to stay dry. TFTC!

Almost gave up on this one after scanning high and low. Very well hidden . Glad my kids are not afraid of climbing.

30-Jan-11
Going to take the young ones next time. Checked every hole there was but didnt see it.

Quick find using the diversion method, 2 people up the tree and one below, found without the passing muggles being none the wiser, ha ha ha.

TNLN TFTC

First to sign the replacement log! Well, if I can't manage FTF, then I'll settle for FTS. Thanks Kiwifamily for replacing the cache so quickly. A week ago it was a big beach walk, today the car reigned supreme. And at 6:45 pm this completes all the current Clarkes Beach caches. What will Kiwifamily offer next? I have really enjoyed my double visit this year to Clarkes Beach. That now makes 3 visits in 61 years. Liked the clever hiding location. I reckon I would have got it first time if it was there.

Check cache and yes it was muggled!
Have replaced so will see how it goes.
Possible local kids play on this so may move it if this happens again!

08-Jan-11
Disabled this cache until I check it's still there.

Turned up just before high tide, waded out, climbed up the tree....found nothing!

03-Jan-11
At first try a young boy was engrossed in a nearby rock pool. Still, gave the feature a good search and sat on the earth patch, but couldn't find the medicine, thinking I had covered all the reasonable hiding options. Returned later and the single muggle had now brought the extended family along. I have made a note to try again properly on a muggle free day.

11-Dec-10
Parked near GZ and took the pathway down to the beach. As we approached GZ spotted Brett (YuGeo4). Mr and Mrs YuGeo4 had been searching a while when we got there so we joined in the search. Took a few minutes but we found the well hidden cache. TFTC

5361 Muggled at GZ by Gadget-tron and family... Claude made the find in a spot Mrs YuGeo had previously searched. Many thanks Kiwifamily for a great series of caches in Clarks Beach, enjoyed them all.... great catching up with GT and family.
