Today I left home reasonably early, with my bike on the ute, to meet up with Chezle and OZGrumpy in Riverton. We left my ute in Riverton, threw my bike on Chezles chariot and headed to Clare.A big day on our bikes riding both The Riesling Trail and The Rattler Trail to find caches while enjoying some country fresh air, a bit of sunshine, get some exercise and find a couple of DNFs of mine from a previous visit. All up a fun day, even if Im going to be a bit saddle sore tomorrow TFTC Frozen FeetKeep smiling
Thanks Frozen Feet for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10689 on 2/11/2024 at 12:08PMA plan was hatched to ride along the Riesling Trail and collect a few caches. A delightful day in the company of Cheezel and Jolly riding along and signing logs. This is a special place, very enjoyable. We also collected some others that were nearby or along the way.
I dont recall exactly but it must be about 4 months ago at an event when OZGrumpy, Jlly and I had a chat about riding the Reisling and Rattler Trails for caches.Today is the day and as the weather gods would have it, its going to be a 35deg day Cache quickly found and log stamped TFTC
Found on a walk with the kids. Didn't bring a pen/pencil to sign. Live close by so will return one day to sign.
I decided to take Friday off work to make it a four day weekend. The plan was to explore around Barossa and Clare valleys. Im not much of a wine drinker but there sure are lots of geocaches in these parts. I brought my bike along so I could tackle some of the many caches along bike tracks. A little cool through out the day but the sun was shining which always makes me happy. Yes I am a John Denver Fan. I started this trail last year so today managed to put another big dent in this trail. All found without problems unless stated otherwise. Thank you Frozen Feet, for placing RT: Shut the Gate for the geocaching community.# # #14938 # #
Found while getting answers for the adlab. TFTC Frozen Feet and the good work in this trail. No cyclists today but a man with his dog.
A stunning day riding on the Riesling Trail - have ~40km under pedal with Clare-Auburn return. Decided to only cache on run home with key picks to maintain goodwill of my non-geo companions. Battery just on less than half-charge so extension eastward to local brewery looking dicey but might make a good folly story…
Got a spike from the Bursaria spinosa bush with the retrieve next to the aptly named cache. TFTC Frozen Feet!

We are off on a trip to the Birdsville Races and then across to Queensland - the plan is for about 6 weeks of travel - all going well.
Week 1 we have travelled from Portland to Farrell's Flat near Clare.
Today the weather was a little better so we took the bikes to Auburn and rode to Penwortham for a very nice lunch and then back to Auburn - about 30km all up.
We really enjoyed most of this series of caches - not too close together and generally in easy to get to spots from the bike tracks. Only 1 DNF for the day
This one was quite wet - sorry we didnt carry any dry logs today.
Thanks for contributing to our holiday Frozen Feet

The gate was definitely shut here today, cache easily found and is all good
With a few days off back in Adelaide I decided to head to the mid north again after still having some caches to find up this way from my last visit 2 weeks ago, nice to be driving around on the back roads exploring new places and seeing the country side.
Thanks for the cache

Parked vehicle and trailer at Sevenhill Oval. Made my way to Auburn on the mobility scooter and grabbed many caches along the way, as well as taking in the interesting views. TFTC
Was doing an adventure lab that just happened to bring us close to this cache, so it would have been rude to not make the find... right? No issues with locating, signing and replacing as found. I really do wanna come out and do the trail here one day, the e-bike would be heaps of fun on this trail. Was a damn hot day today with it being 40c+, sure did work up a sweat doing the smallest of things.
Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance Frozen Feet and thanks KBKL and Sixpak69 for the company

While staying in the Auburn Caravan Park we wandered along parts of the beautiful Rattler and Riesling Trails grabbing any caches we passed and made a start on the Auburn Adv Lab.

Happy caching and safe travels!
Happy caching and safe travels!
Came down to Clare for the JWLE not to play the game but to play the geocaching game. Didn’t have much of a plan so when Courtney Rose and Gridge98 asked me if I wanted to tag along with them to cache around Spalding I said a big YES.
We found some great caches and did a fair bit of walking. Then back to Clare for the juggling flash mob very Carnivale.
After the flash mob I headed out on my own to pick up some caches south of Clare and to do the Carendo adventure lab. On the way stopped for a cleansing ale at Pikes with CoCo Pops.
Arrived back to Clare after dark had my only dnf of the day and then on to collect my curry and back to my super deluxe accommodation for a well earned rest.
Big thanks to all the CO and of course the JLWE Committee for a fun day.
Did this one on the walk to the AL nearby TFTC

The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) along with tallbikestan left home early to head up to Clare for the June Long Weekend and of course we didn't go straight there. We had a few detours along the way which made for an interesting day travelling around stopping at Truro, Eudunda, Worlds End, Burra and Mintaro with the occasional cache in between.
Day 2 and we left our accommodation early to find a few caches before heading to the showgrounds. Then collected our hides and we were off again. [^]
Found this one while we were in the area completing the Adventure Lab.
Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet.

Having woken to a cool morning the JAMS team ventured out to start collecting smilies. We found a range of caches throughout the day, so thanks for placing them for us to find.
Cache #11587
Headed north today on a bit of a pre maintenance run, dropped into the Clare Catching Carnival Flash mob to catch up with friends, present and future. But the main aim of the day was some cardio exercise on the bike, finding caches of course. Managed to rectify 4 DNFs on the Rattler and N E Trails and to finish off the Riesling Trail. Put 32K on the bike and walked another 4.2K. So all in all a very successful and satisfying day out.
Thanks to Frozen Feet for putting out this cache for us to find.

found with the JAMS team while also doing the nearby lab cache at the same time. quick find.
The JAMS team (( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and sir_spectre ) plus TallBikeStan for this trip ) are headed off to the 20 th JuneLongWeekend Event in Clare. As you would expect extension poles, blow up kayaks, waders and ladders are in the car. I am sure every one else takes 11 hours to reach Clare from Adelaide, i am also sure via Burra is the logical to Clare . There was many photos taken of the fun times we had, even involving a ladder in the creek and of course many dirt roads ventured down. All caches for the weekend where stamped as JAMS and some more caches where placed on our travels. The missing JAMS member Michells&hound joined us in our B&B in Clare but didn't join with us for the JLWE game. The weather slowly got better over the weekend. It's good to see some gadget and creative caches around Clare that are permeant and not temp game caches.

Found with FUF009 while attending the JLWE in Clare. A mixed weather day, where we just found what we could in-between rains. Tftc

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Staying nearby in Leasingham and had a couple of hours spare to head out and find some caches. So went for a long walk. Found three caches, and it was now time to head back for lunch, and this one happened to be on the way. Reached GZ, and as I approached, spotted the hide. Extracted the cache and signed the log as some muggles arrived opposite. As they turned round to read the sign, the cache was replaced, and I headed off back to our accommodation.

Got the first log in a fresh cache! Loved the little crystal marbles I traded one with a souvenir/recommendation from Coober Pedy

Had a great day cycling up and down the Riesling Trail, though my legs and hind quarters have a different opinion! Grabbed loads of caches and had a lovely pit stop at the beautiful Crabtree winery in Watervale (no food, but very tasty Riesling!). TFTC. Cache very damp.
Yet another nice day for a cache.
Didn't need the pedal power as could park the beast nearby.
This gate may have been shut for the last time!

I am cycling the Mawson Trail from Blinman and Adelaide which has provided the opportunity to pick up a few geocaches along the way, including quite a few between Clare and Riverton today. This one was a reasonably straightforward find, being in an obvious position on the coordinates. Quite a change from the many gates that we have opened and closed on the Mawson Trail! Thank you Frozen Feet for installing and maintaining this cache.
It was that time again for a group of geo animals, and Wednesday wanderings.
A Rat, Starfish, Snake and a Fish , the Rat and snake found this one.
Stopped on our way through to the next cache. Tftc

On the road again with a few of the puzzler troupe of small animals. The Starfish, Rat, Fish lover and Adder. Our aim was to attack Clare but as usual, detours were made to pick up a few yet to find caches.
A quick find by the Adder, still need to get up here to do more of this fun trail.

Quick find. Lots of room in the new yellow logbook, but sadly I couldn’t add a mark as I brought neither pen nor pencil sharpener. Cheers
The last one for today, just over 5km travelled on Shank's Pony, but it was good to get out of the car for a change. All caches found along this short section of track were mostly in good condition. This was the second of only two that needed a log book replacement. Should be good to go for a while now. tftc
Must be nearly time to turn around and head back to Clare. Thanks again Frozen Feet.
We stopped at Shut the Gate winery yesterday for a taste and very nice it was too.
