jasenjanine I found your cache Ground ZERO on 27/7/2024, 8:50AM. This is my find 6839 and find # 1 today. Armed with a machete, made my way through to GZ. This time found the cache after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

After the event this morning it was decided to it was time to grab a coffee (or in Chamads case, a coke) then head to Ground Zero.No need for me to add too much info as it has already been told by Duppers and Chamad.I found your cache, Ground ZERO today. This is my 3085 find.jasenjanine, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

After this morning's walk up Saddleback, I went for a coffee break with duppers and shazza. We were sitting around when I said I still wanted to grab a cache and there was one not far away. Well it turned out there are several ways into the area and one went one way and another went the other, lol. Eventually we met up and started our walk to GZ. We did have to cut our way through the maze of lantana and long grass to get to GZ. The obvious spot was pointed out and it was Shazza who made the awesome find. a log in and we find it was over two years since this cache was visited, nice. A nice little spot and just for reasons of I am giving this a favourite point. Nicely thought out, an easy drive to, a short walk and a favourite point added. We signed the log and replaced the cache, added some local camo and back to the car we went. Nice morning and a few laughs along the way, oh just remembered there was some pants swapping along the way, oh was I not to mention that, oh well.

This morning there was event on, climbing Mount Elimbah and I was keen to attend. While I was planning my caching for the day, I also discussed ideas with Shazzar66 and chamad. We talked about the option of doing Baxter Falls after the event because I have been needing that cache for another couple of loops for quite awhile. Unfortunately, it was raining this morning and so we decided that Baxter Falls was out for the day, having heard that it's definitely not a hike to do when it's wet. We were still looking to do something rather than have to go home, so after climbing Mt Elimbah, we met for a coffee and morning tea and it was then that chamad and suggested that we go and have a look for Ground Zero. An appropriately named cache, and a cool reason to put a cache somewhere. The only problem was that Shazzar66 and I have 2WD cars whereas chamad has a 4WD and unbeknownst to us we use different maps. Where we thought we were going to meet, to jump into Chamad's four-wheel-drive, we didn't end up meeting. We were in fact several Km's away from each other, with very little phone or internet access. After several stop/start garbled phone calls, we hoped that Chamad had heard and understood that we were walking in to Ground Zero.Shazzar66 and I parked as close as we could and then walked the one and a half kilometres to the cache. When we got there, chamad was kindly sitting waiting patiently for us. Knowing that this cache hadn't been found for 27 months, chamad grabbed a container to replace the cache, just in case. We bush-bashed our way in the 85 m to the cache, using hiking poles as machetes, and then split up to look in several spots that might have hidden the cache. It was Shazzar66, as usual, who found the cache, in a fairly logical place. What she found was a pen, a Ziploc bag and a laminated "you found a Geocache" page. We couldn't find an intact container and aren't really sure what the container should've been. Although someone mentioned previously that it was a cacher's favourite (which we assumed would have been an Ammo Tin), we didn't find one there. We did find a large piece of tubing buried in the ground so perhaps this may have been the cache. We signed the spare logbook that chamad brought along, signed ShaDup and chamad, and placed it where the remains of the cache was found, with a large cover of camo over the top. It was right where Ground Zero indicated. Thanks, Jasenjanine for placing a cache at Ground Zero.

This geocache wasn't planned today, but I was nearby and driving along Beerburrum Donnybrook Road, when I decided to take the risk and attempt this from the north and other side of the mapped Elimbah Creek. The tracks were initially looking ok despite the recent rains, however when I arrived at the creek, it wasn't slow flowing, and I decided to take the wise decision and return another day (and perhaps from the south). Thanks anyway jasenjanine for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

jasenjanine I didn’t find your cache Ground ZERO on 15/10/2022, 10:40 am. Parked the car on the track. Had about 100 meters to bush bash. First part was okay then came to the lantana. Bashed my way to GZ. Eventually arrived but searched around and nothing found. Got the GPSR to zero in the zeros.

I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. Today I was out in the Toorbul/Donnybrook area with my eldest daughter and we decided to grab this. Once at GZ, I wandered around for a while to get the exact coords. My daughter drove us out of here, her first time driving on dirt. Thanks for the cache

This was a spur of the moment cache find for us today. We were coming back from finding another cache and saw this one on our map and turned off from the Pumistone Road and followed some forestry tracks arriving about 85mtrs from GZ. The tracks were dry and we were fine avoiding a few holes along the way. The walk through the bush was ok too and there were no mozzies around today. We spotted my favourite type of cache container, signed the log and replaced it as found. The coordinates on this one are special and we have found a few others with similar coordinates in the time that we have been caching. We are giving a favourite for the placement of this cache. Thanks jasenjanine.

After completing a wherigo not far away I mentioned I had not found this cache yet, though I'd been here for the original in 2007.
1MM was happy to attempt to get here in her car which is not a 4wd. Siri tried to lead us through a very waterlogged track but cachly maps showed us a much more sensible way to get there.
Then.. the grass.. the lantana.. as 1MM said this cache was placed for the numbers not the location...
It looked pretty much as I remembered it from 07, amazing to think that these are not the same trees that were there then!
Thanks for placing this cache here!

We found the track. Had fun. But not where we would be walking in. Next time.
We are visiting locals so we'll be back. Maybe next time in Winter so less mozzies and less risk of snakes.

My idea to go for this one after the RAAF wherigo cache. Gee, our car got muddy and dirty, and the short way out unfortunately blocked by a racing Elimbah creek crossing.

Found the cache, Tftc.

22-Oct-18
We looked for a track from Pumicestone Road and got through to the cache. Tried the short way out, but Elimbah creek was a wild river after that rain yesterday, so we refrained from doing the crossing.

Found another way out, tftc

Last cache for the day probably not as prepared as we should have been. We took a four-wheel drive but didn't know how to put it into four-wheel drive and to make matters worse lots of rain made for a slippery ride. Cache was all good, swapped TBs and left some swag. TFTC

While camping at Neurum Creek, decided to go geocaching today with The McAlister Zoo. This was one of our target caches and took the rest of our 4x4 club on a drive to this area.
Came across a few motorcyclists and one who fell off just near to our parking spot. Dad had to rescue the bike so we could get across the muddy water hole.
We took the long way in to GZ which was found finally. Took the obligatory selfie, SL, dropped off TB then returned cache to its hide.
Somehow we found a quicker way out.

TFTC and a great location with all the Zero's.

A degree confluence cache! Having been told about this by a friendly Fungus recently I had intended to get it after a nearby event a few weeks ago but somehow the geo-mobile's wheels just kept turning towards a hot shower & right past this GZ!

Back today to take a walk up one of the Glasshouse Mountains with EatSleepCacheRepeat and I casually mentioned this cache. Her reaction (to decisively put the car in gear and declaim "Let's go!") is the reason you should always cache with people as geeky as you are!

We abandoned the car on one of the trails and took to our own two feet for the last km or so. The cache was very easily spotted at GZ, and it took significantly longer to get a screenshot of the obligatory zeros than it did to locate the box, sign the log and put everything back. Phone stubbornly refused to admit the cache was right there, so I have the co-ordinates spot on, but apparently the cache was 1m away (shaking the phone and yelling "it's right there!" didn't help strangely enough!).

Thanks for a very cool cache, have an FP Smile

I only learnt about confluent lines recently when I was discussing caches placed along the Tropic of Capricorn with a friend after finding one in Alice Springs. I had spent a considerable amount of time finding locations on a website after that trip, but then it became one of those ideas that are quickly forgotten when school holidays are over..

Brought this Virtual TB along to visit this wonderful cache with the amazing coordinates S27 00.000 E153 00.000!
Love all those zeros!

2:03:00 PM. Thanks % After setting up camp at Toorbul I felt like a walk and a cache. This one came up closest so off I went. Missed the turn into the forest and back I went. Wasn't too bad and just kept following the arrow towards GZ. Parked 80 odd metres away and thought this is more overgrown than I thought it would be. Walked up a side track to find a clearer way in and then the bush bash started. Wished I hadn't worn shorts for this. After following the clearest bits I eventually got to GZ and spotted the hide. Chased a few ants away and opened the container to sign the log. All good and dry. Managed to find my way back out sort of the way I came in. Well worth the challenge. Just wished I had bought water water with me. OwnerName for the cache.

The coordinates are interesting and definitely worth a look. There is a similar cache on the way to Rainbow Beach.

It had been raining and the forest roads were wet but no trouble for the Great Wall. We arrived close to GZ and walked the remaining 70m through the bush and on some tracks that were beginning to form.

When we arrived at GZ, the hiding spot looked a little out of place and sure enough, there was the cache.

The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found. Took a Travel Bug to move on.

All is good with this cache.

With a little time to spare this afternoon, I called Dora the Explorer to see if she would like to join me. I didnt have any particular cache in mind, so she said that she would check the map while I made my way to pick her up. She had a list of caches ready when I arrived, so we set off. She had already found this cache, but thought that I would find it interesting.....and she was right! All those zeroes!! I hadnt seen that on a cache page before! We managed to drive most of the way to GZ, but had to walk the last little bit. A bit of a bush bash and I soon spotted something out of place. Sure enough, the cache was there. I signed the log and left a TB to continue its journey. TFTC

Our final cache of the day here today, and I HAD to do this one with those coords, especially after NyssaFlutterby has piqued my interest mentioning her experiences here. Hmmm do you think Mia (the Kia) is up to the tracks? Well there's one way to find out! And she hasn't let me down yet. However on the way to this cache we did happen to stop at the side of the road to view the biggest brown snake we've ever seen, which had been hit by a car or two.

This may not have worked in our favour, as once we parked our car ready for the bush-bashing that snake was ALL we could think about us for the next 80+ metres and the return!! However on we marched (I still don't understand why Nyssa caches in thongs when there could be browns about!!) and eventually we arrived at GZ. As I make a grab for the cache all of a sudden I LEAP BACK as I hear a huge rustle in the growth directly in front of me! That wind has a LOT to answer for!!

Signed the log and desperately tried to get a photo on my phone of those amazing coordinates however the phone refused to give that precision to me, tho Nyssa's did - .001 or 60.000 was the best I could muster. Oh well let's beat a hasty exit out of here please before those snakes appear!!

Thanks for the cache jasenjanine, it was certainly an experience, and I'm pleased to say both cachers and car made it in and out without mishap!

Nice easy drive through the pine plantation. I went in via New Rutters Road. I put in corrected co ordinates and couldn't find it. So went with given co ordinates and quick easy find. Co ordinates given were spot on for me. Tb drop.

I only discovered the existence of this cache last week when looking for nearby caches with lots of favourite points. We found a closer one last weekend but decided to make the extra trip and discover this area today - quite special with those co-ordinates. Big Grin
On the way in we pulled up at one spot and filled the back of the Pajero with pine cones - great for lighting the fire!
After some fun 4WD tracks (very rough down to cross Elimbah Creek) and following the gps arrow, we found the small patch of native bush in amongst the pine forest. Not finding any sort of track, we bush bashed in - very long spikey grasses and bushes, lots of wildflowers eg. purple hovea and sarsaparilla vine. After some circling, we spotted the hide with some rudimentary camouflage, looking like it was ready for a bonfire. Tried unsuccessfully to get a screenshot of the ground zero co-ordinates, it was 1 off each time.
Took Spiderman the Catcher Travel Bug and a cricket bat, left ladybird rubber.

Almost out of Diesel we pushed on. back tracked a few times as I was getting worried about fuel. 50m walk through the scrub where every step was accompanied by a near by rustle (Obviously in my mind snakes).

Finally spotted on GZ. No need to conceal as who on gods earth would come to this desolate spot. Dropped Spidey and collected a chunk of wood.

After completing some other caches around the Glasshouse Mountains we dropped in to pick this one up with our way home. Lots of fun was had on the dirt roads before and after finding the cache.
We arrived on one of the roads leading to the cache, jumped out and started the trek through the bushland.. After following the GPS and making our way through grass and plants we finally found GZ. We signed the log and made the journey back to the car! Thanks for the cache Smile

A spontaneous caching day with EggZachary and Muggle Mate lead us to this cache today. And it wasn't till after, when we were logging the date that we realised what a significant date to find this log on it was.
It was a rainy day, so we had my Muggle mates 4x4 to get us there (although after we got to the area we realised my x-trail would have got us there just the same.
A nice wander in the bush to get to GZ..... Literally Smile

i messaged my partner in crime XWF to go have coffee.... XWF and our muggle mate picked me up in muggle mates bright orange beast. I really wasn't sure where we were headed or what the plan was. alls I know that poor old bones74 is in perth working and has been replaced by muggle mate and the orange beast. off the down the high way we go. its been drizzling all morning. XWF phone is playing up and mine is not much better. we turn off the high way and the bitchumen soon turns into gravel. we find where we need to be by playing the phones off against each other. theres bit of a geotrail that we kind of follow in , in a round about way. laughing and giggle and cursing the dam phones. we found what we were looking for (well muggle mate found it) and signed the log and replaced as found. now...... which way is out..... we kind of look at each other...... I suggest we head to the tree line and kind of agree that sounds like a good plan..... the geo trail we followed in is no where to be seen now..... im feeling lost and a lil panicked!!! I looked up and discovered id been heading to the wrong tree line. muggle mate finishing laughing and takes over the job of getting us unlost. ive never been so happy to see that orange beast. in the eggcitement of being saved from the perils of the forrest, muggle mate does not see the rather large rut in front of us and drives straight into it..... bogged!!!! HA he flicks the orange beast into 4WD and just like that we are on our way again looking for more muddy bog holes!! what an adventure!!! and to think XWF wanted to clean her cupboards out today!!!

This has to be the most expensive cache find on record - after reading some of the logs, I had to go and buy a 4 wheel drive Mitsubishi. Enjoyed the drive through the forest and parked close to GZ before setting off on foot. Coords were spot on and I saw something that didn't look very natural and cache was soon in hand, decided to take a photo of all those '0' but bugger - I'd left the camera in the Mitsi so decided to try and use my phone but I haven't got a clue how to put it on the log!! TFTC jasenjanine - gets a favourite point from us. Smile

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there jasenjanine. We found your cache "Ground ZERO" at 11:50:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11468.
[Blue]
Today was just the sort of day for a sight seeing tour around some of the roads in the area. We picked a random cache and let our GPS decide our route by going to the "next closest" one.
In our travels we found 11 (and DNF'd 3).

Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this large cache in a "special" place.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards

Having arrived at "Remembering the Anzacs 100 years" event by seirra1 | GC5T2KM | and set up camp, time to find some Smile.
Fairy Mother had followed me down from Gympie and we teamed up, and headed off.
The road in off Beerburrum - Donnybrook Rd is a bit rutted, but otherwise OK, parked up 60m from the GZ, as per true Geocaching etiquette, hard way in, easy way out.
GZ found, then had to find the cache. Found OK in a hollow stump below ground level. Cache returned to GZ and covered.
All Razz with the cache.

What a marvelous concept, it's one that I hadn't seen before I visited here once before but the track I took was getting more rutted and muddy as I progressed, and I ran out if allocated time and daylight, so the attempt was abandoned.

Fast forward to today, and I left early to grab the before we climb the Gemini for our road trip Souvenirs. Approached from Rutters Rd and the going was much easier. Wandered tito GZ, then wandered some more before wondering where it could be. According to logs, it was 10m away, and I finally did find it. Added coords so others can find it easier than I did, sorry it's no longer all zeroes.

Thanks for a goodun

Out with MsMaddy cleaning up the caches in the Bribie Passage area.

My how this spot has changed since the first time ( and first cache) at the location. I floundered around for some time before discovering the cache about 10 m away from the GZ showing on my GPS. The cache was just out in the open. Not sure if it may have been moved by the volume of water moving through the area or otherwise or whether it is in the correct /original location {8D]

I only had time for one today so it had to be a good one! It's also a long time since I'd done a jasenjanine cache so I thought this better be it! It had been raining a fair bit lately and I thought it might be a bit muddy here. I started down the access track in the 2WD but quickly decided to reverse back out and leg it instead. I'm glad I did as it was a beautiful walk along the forestry tracks to the point of confluence. The trees are starting to get a bit of height here and the 'weeds' in between make things a bit more difficult but it will be a magnificent stroll in about 10 years time I reckon.
Thanks jasenjanine for your excellent Sunshine Coast caches that are powering on here thanks to your locally based minions. The container is in great condition of course. Long live the ammo can!

It was a very overcast day and we wanted to get the geotoddlers out of the house so we thought we would take them fishing at Donnybrook. Why not grab a few caches on the way. I had been looking at this one for a while and thought this was the perfect opportunity as I had hubby with me who is a very good 4wder and I thought he could probably drive me very close to GZ. We bashed down the tracks through the mud left from the previous days rain. It was pretty easy going following the gps right to within 80mts of the cache. Bugger, thought we were going to get closer then that. Thongs were not the best choice of foot wear. Oh well I'm here, let's go. Just as I stepped out of the car it bickered down with rain Sad now I'm not soft so off I went into the forestry with my umbrella. The geotoddlers and hubby stayed in the car. Found GZ quite easily and the cache was easily found too. Standing trying to sign the log when I noticed about 30 mozzies had taken shelter under my umbrella and were feeing on me mercilessly Sad quickly signed and replaced and back to the car. All good with cache. TFTC.

I took my trail bike to work so I could find this one on the way home, I came from the south and the road was pretty good, no prob for a soft roader or if you are adventurous you might be able to take a 2wd. Once I got off the main trail I tried bush bashing through the trees, there are lots of tree stumps and undulations, but it was good fun Smile found the cache pretty quickly, all in good nick, thanks!

I have been wanting to do this cache for the past 3 years, reading past logs saying 'it's a bit boggy if it rained '- no rain for the past month, it's got to be right conditions. The road in was dusty still the better preference, I passed a lot of large holes on the road which the 4WD handled easily, after the first 500 meters the road improved and I travelled the rest of the way to the cache in third gear.
I parked the geomobile at the closest spot approx 80 meters from the Cache and proceeded on foot following the arrow, a good cache hiding spot was located and revealed the cache Smile. I opened the cache and read the logbook of the interesting find logs and added my Sign at 8:45AM.. Then returned all as found.
The iPhone finally showed all the zero's - so I got a screen shot to post I then returned to the geomobile with one of those most excellent smiles on my face SmileSmile.

I always enjoy a nice walk for a cache, and when it also involves taking my car to places a corolla shouldn't go, I'm in. Got to about 1k out before I made the call to not drive any further in case I couldn't get back out. Probably didn't take the easiest route from the trail to GZ, but once I was there it was an easy find. A favorite point from me. TFTC

We had to go to Mooloolaba today so decided to take the long way cache by cache. Our new 4WD allowed us to head for this cache. It was most amusing to watch the coordinate dance as we both attempted to find the confluence on our screens to record for posterity. Cache was found safe and dry. TFTC, jasenjanine.

This was the maiden off road voyage for our new 4x4, and what better destination? We cruised in easily and parked a short distance from the cache to bush bash in the rest of the way. Twice as nice to log this find as it is the first one we've made which required the 4x4 and also, well......it's an ammo tin with cool co-ordinates! Razz Thanks for placing this cache jasenjanine, a favourite from us Big Grin

600th Cache!

We set about on our journey early in the morning, combated a mountain took a hike, then made our way over this way to put a smile on this little green dot.

Dahumbug, Team LJCC and Mountainman82 accompanied me on the journey to this cache, the plan was to attack it from the south as there was no waterways to cross.

We turned the Red Rocket in towards the tall trees, Dahumbug and Mountainman82 followed behind us. The roads became smaller and the bitumen disappeared shortly after the tall trees appeared. The roads became dusty and full of ruts, but the Rocket stayed true. The roads all appeared to run in a criss cross pattern and each turn we made initially led us closer to the cache, then further away. We needed keep a close eye on the GPS to determine when we needed to make a course correction.

There were places on the journey that made us think we were not going to be completing our task today, but the rocket pushed on, avoiding large ruts and pools of water. We stopped and spoke to some motorcyclists who were preparing to start a ride.

We finally got within 70m of GZ and decided to park up and go the rest of the way on foot.

Step by step, the confluence point edged closer and we all grabbed our GPS units and held them at the ready. Upon reaching GZ there were cheers all round as we reached down and lifted out the cache.

We each signed the log and returned it and then started the GPS dance. Dahumbug was first to hit the magic number but we lost it by the time the camera phones came out!!

He had it another few times but again, we lost it while trying to get the pic!

In the end, he popped the GPS on top of the tree stump and wiggled it about a bit and magically, all the numbers lined up, so he dropped it on the spot and we all grabbed a pic before attempting to line up our own GPS devices.

Found an interesting website dedicated to confluence points. www.confluence.org It has quite allot of the world confluence points and even 360 degree pictures of what is seen at the locations.

What a convenient location for a tree stump!!

TFTC!

Finished off the geoday with bushbash to this cache. Good day spent with Mountain Man, Dahumbug and Angela & Dave. Thanks guys for the day. Found all caches and no snakes today. Getting here really dirtied Angela's car though!

Out on an adventure with Dahumbug! met up with Angela & Dave, TeamLJCC! As we knew there has been no rain decided to venture in with the car! so we followed Angela & Dave. Dodged a few potholes, checked a few gullies and creek crossings before attempting in our vehicles, yeah she be right we"ll make it! passed a group of 4x4 enthusiast and a group of Motocross enthusiasts, to see 2 cars going past them the expression on their faces was awesome! eye's bulged and jaws dropped wondering wtf are these clowns up to! Nice to learn about degree confluence, that's really cool! I got a photo of my compass! thanks for a very interesting concept! Great end to a days adventure with other fellow geocachers! My geomobile could really do with a wash now though! lol!

What better way to end the year than to cruise around looking for caches Big Grin. Loved this one with its special co-ords. Had us dancing around the cache getting all the zeros Wink. TFTC jasenjanine TNLN SL

#2600! Big Grin

A fair few months ago I was part of MEG #3 and we were parked in this patch of forestry contemplating going for this cache. The road was quite wet and the driver of my car didn't wish to get stuck so we decided to attempt it another time.

Months later I received a phone call from Uncle_Andy who actually got me into caching 4 years ago. I suggested we go find a few since I was so close to my mini milestone and a microsecond later "YES" was shouted through the phone. I wasn't sure where we should head but when he turned up in his Hilux I automatically thought of this cache.

We headed up the highway and soon had sussed out a good entry point. After a few minutes of driving we had found the shortest distance from road to cache and were soon out of the car and bashing our way towards GZ.

We popped out of the heavier bush into a small clearing and Andy bounded ahead. He was standing there, hands on hips smiling at me. Oh it seems he has found it! Congratulations on your first find since Oct 2011!!! I showed him how to open the container Razz and soon had to pry the logbook out of his hands to leave our mark. I read through the old names surprised at how many of my friends had been out to this one.

We signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found before heading back to the car and on towards the next cache. I am glad I finally have this one off my map! The cache is in great condition as per usual with these containers. Thanks for the cache jasenjanine

Ahhh who doesn't love a good confluence [^] We were heading back home today from a 21st party up the coast, and after having a quick look on Google Maps, we picked our approach, and made our way in. The tracks in were in perfect condition, and would be accessible by almost any car. I suppose it is one benefit of no rain lately. We parked up at the intersection, and made the short walk into GZ. After battling the bush for a short time, we arrived at GZ, and the GPSr revealed those beautiful zero's Big Grin Such a great sight Big Grin We added our names to the logbook, and took a different route back out, and tried not to take out any motorbikes at the intersections.

This one has been hanging around for quite a while so I thought that it might be a good candidate for one of my August caches. Treadly in the back of the geo-ute and off down the road. Parked just off of the Bruce Highway on Donnybrook Road and off I set. Quite an interesting ride. It got rougher and rougher the further I went. Some of these off-roaders certainly leave a messy road behind. Got as close as I could to GZ then hid the bike and headed bush. Easy walk and an easy find. Took the time to make sure that the conjunction appeared on the GPS. Cache in good condition.
Thanks for the cache jasenjanine.

We took the long way in for this cache, geo 4x4 got a work out. Saw quite a few motor bikes. Trekked through the scrub to ground zero. Nice cache.

It was just a matter of degrees - or at least that was the HMF puzzle here - the only puzzle cache of theirs that we didn't manage to visit. So it was good to see that another cache has been placed at this rather special location (at least the numbers).

Today we were driving past in a vehicle that was suitable to get close to GZ. The tracks were (mostly) dry so we could drive and park nearby. A short walk later and the numbers aligned and we were standing next to the cache. Many thanks for this one.

An enjoyable drive in once again to an area that I like to visit. It was nice to return to the area where another cache was originally. Back then there was plenty of lantana compared to the scrub and boggy ground that I found today. Only a short walk to GZ and all the zero's appeared for me at the designated spot with the cache.

Cache is dry and in good condition.

Here we are coming up to Ground Zero, our first cache out with Mr Prime on his MEG5 tour. I havn't been on any of the MEG events so not exactly sure what I'm in for but these folks seem like a nice bunch of people. It is still very cold at 7.30am so out we hop and trek on in all following our trusty GPS devices all the while muttering about the wet and cold grass and all of a sudden we have found the cache and are about to start signing the log.........

Wow! Thanks JasenJanine. Well done for locating this confluence and placing a cache here. This was a first experience for me. Just great to see all those 00.000 00.000's. The forest track in was in good condition and with a couple of weeks of pretty fine weather there was no sign of wet ground as we walked to GZ. Cache is in great condition. It probably took us all much longer to get around to signing the log book as we all stumbled around each other trying to get all the zero's to line up on the various GPSrs. It was like watching some kind of ritual dance, lol. Once done an inspection of the cache contents was made while the log was signed and a few swaps were made. Thank you both very much for bringing us here. A favourite point it MUST be - zip - so there goes another one straight to this cache.....!!!!!

What is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches I've not already found in an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every mystery, every mountain and everything in between.

This, the fifth group outing took in a couple mountain climbs and walks in preparation for the future MEGs, plus two multis, and a couple others in the area. In small convoy with the Master Fangsoki and his Purple Paj, Miss Censations, Swellerfungus and Lady Sim, Miss Maddy, Bulldozer, KarenHippo, Crew153 and Aussie Liahona we took in the sights of growing zeros on the various handheld and vehicle mounted devices. This is in fact my third attempt at this cache - last time (MEG#3) it was far too wet and boggy for my 2-wheel drive and I abandoned not too far along the mud-holes (also known as a track). I now know that was a wise decision as it deteriorated a lot after that. The first attempt was nearly two years ago and in a brand new vehicle I chickened out at the first sign of dirt (from a different angle). During MEG#4 this was originally on the list, but it had been raining a lot in the week prior, so it got removed from the list before we even got started.

SO, this time in a real 4WD, with a real driver, dry(ish) dirt and a fresh day dawning it was time. Time to bring up the zeros. 00.000 00.000 oh so pretty. Took a while to crazy bee dance it down to zero, and took longer to make it stay there long enough for the all important photo. Horrible photo, but important. Must say it was 2m from GZ though Wink

And there was a cache there somewhere apparently, y'know how it is with people like me, all about the numbers!

Thanks for placing this cache, jasenjanine. Mobbed in good condition.

Up with the sparrows on a very cold morning and after a brief coffee stop at BP Northbound, our MEG#5 group under the glorious leadership of PPrime, headed to Ground Zero.

We regrouped at the start of the offshoot track and piled into the vehicles with higher clearance... Confluence here we come!

At the access point, a sea of high grass greeted us. But nothing short of a cyclone would have held us back! My tactic was to follow someone heavier and taller into GZ Wink

We found the cache easily and it's in excellent condition. Then we tripped over each other seeking the perfect coords. See my pic of Mr Garmin putting up a good show! We got a LOT OF ZEROES going on here!!!

Knowing a few steep hills awaited and still feeling chilly, on we rolled...

TFTC Jasenjanine, awesome spot to hide a cache. A FAVE point from me Smile

Part of the MEG#5 group. This was the first cache for the day. Seeing all those zeros on the GPSr was quite exciting.
