Today I went to do some caching round Lake Parramatta.
I found this cache at or very near the location for the cache Lake 1. Checking the logbook for FTF and several names after that and comparing that with the names on the list for this cache it appears to be this cache Lilypad lookout. Looking at the photos of the logbook and the logbook they are one and the same.
Everything about it matches Lilypad lookout except the location.
Checking google maps it now appears to be about 1km along the track from the original placement.
So I signed the logbook and am claiming my smilie and will contact the CO.

Dropped by today and can confirm that it is missing. Given it was a decent sized geocache in a great location, I'ill organise a replacement soon.
Think I got to GZ but there is a snake in the hole nearby. Now there is a few dnf for this one maybe it's not even there
Despite the recent DNFs thought I'd try for this after finding Lake 11.
Like the previous logs, no sign of it anywhere after a 15 minute search. Spotted a number of good hidey holes but they were all empty.
CO intervention definitely required.
Erm, SNAKE? What SNAKE?

Was in the right area (looked at photos) but was not there. Think it was muggled. Please check.
Searched without any luck. GPS would get us close and them put us in the centre of the lake
Thanks to The Spindoctors for the cache.Out with the family to loop the lake found the cache nice and dry all in good order the same couldn't be said about Mr TS who had to go for a swim to save my 15 and a 1/2 yr old jackrussell that fell off a steep mossy rock and was caught up in his lead and started to drown lucky for him his master took the leap and retreaved his loyal dog in the nick of time close call!

After retrieving Riddler from the other side of Lake Parramatta, I only need to find a traditional to lift my record of "cache types in a day" from 3 to 4. I could have retreated to suburbia and got a park and grab, as I was over 10km from home and there were lots available.
But instead I decided to go for a nice walk all the way over here. I had failed to find it last time, many months ago, it may have been muggled, but I knew it was a great place worthy of a revisit. Along the way someone shouted "Doggies" as I passed them, and I remembered that I was wearing my Manly Sea Eagles cap.
I got to GZ and was comforted that I was on the right level by the cache title. I had walked far enough so I was determined to find it and I did after 5 mins. There was a munzee inside so I scanned it but I think it failed to register as I couldn't remember my password for that game, at which I have never successfully registered one find.
TFTC SpinDoctors - I thought of heading to your Earthcache to get yet another type but I had run out of time.

Took a long time to find with the coords moving faster then the satellites that provide them. Not much room to sign but found a gap.
Lovely spot. This area needs more caches. Tftc tnln visited lots of tbs.

Over two years ago, I logged a DNF because of a muggled cache. Came back today being in the area and today was a reasonably quick find. Really is a nice spot and good views to the lake, on such an warm winter day too. Enjoyable!! TFTC.
Lovely park. Visitng a cousin in Oatlands after 3 European orienteering events. Perfect day today. Mapping the tracks thrugh here for Open street map. Its indeed a large area. Lovely views fo Lake Parramatta.
Thx for bringing me here.
Thx for bringing me here.
We had been walking around the lake with the family and dogs, who were getting pretty tired by this stage, as we had gone clockwise - an impressive effort by the 2 year old. We stopped for lunch a bit further along the trail, and while the others rested Geokid8 and I headed back for the search. We got the elevation right, and after a short search made the find, in a slightly-unexpected but hint-consistent place. There was a guy sitting nearby with a lovely white dog, enjoying the view, but he didn't appear to notice us. Thanks for the cache!
I had to drop a couple of friends in Parramatta, and then wait to pick them up, so I drove to the Lake to see if I could pick up a cache for my streak. As this one was the only traditional in the park that still seemed to be in place, I made straight for it even though it involved a bit of a trek and I had limited time. It was a brilliant walk, with spectacular scenery along the way and at GZ.
The log is full but I managed to sign in a corner where there was a blank space.
Thanks The Spindoctors.

Ive always liked the bush trails around the lake and this was a fun cache to find.

It's only taken me half dozen times of trying to finally find this one! GPS goes crazy in this area and that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. TFTC.
I had tried twice before to find this one. This time using the clue (which was really unnecessary) 5 Cub Scouts and myself searched the same area and one of them who had been on two caching trips before spotted it easily. Perhaps she did not need to bend down so far.
Could not get an exact position, looked in what we thought obvious, but it was staring at us. Good fun. Let a shell we found at Manly. Thank you
Dropped by this afternoon. It was raining and I had the place to myself mostly. I did meet one couple who were walking back to the parking area and they advised me that at one point the walking track was cut-off by a fast flowing flooded creek.
It must have been beyond the cache as I could still get there OK.
After a bit of a search I found the cache. Have been here many times and was happy to return to find this cache. Great spot.

First for the first of a new year. What a great place, hard (almost impossble!!) to believe it's so close to Parramatta. TfTc, Spindoctors, TnLn. Happy new year !!
This cache has been staring out of the map at me for far too long and I had to be somewhat nearby today. A bit of homework suggested a shorter route, perhaps 600m, which I had just enough time for.
There were a few ducks skidding noisily into the lillies, but otherwise, that end of the lake was pretty quiet. At one point, the GPS wanted to keep going another 10m or so, but I stopped at what looked like a good spot for a hide and was surprised to find it so quickly. I didn't notice any ID on the cache so hoped for the best. Moments later, the GPS was happy and the log matches the on-line logs so all's well.
A good spot for an easy wander. TFTC

I have come down from the Gold Coast for my brother's 60th birthday and I just had to combine it with a good number of Sydney caches.
I am really revisiting my home town because I was born and bred in the Lidcombe area and my brother lives at Guildford so I have picked some caches around the general area and looking forward to see how many I can fit in.
This was a beautiful walk around this amazing lake and I enjoyed it as were a lot of muggles on this lovely sunny Public Holiday.
At GZ I was confused with the suggestion of elevation and searched unfruitfully for some time, which meant only one of two things either I was looking in the wrong spot or the cache had been very recently muggled.
Taking a different tack and reading more into the description I was able to quickly conclude my search and added another smiley to the map.
Thanks Spindoctors Great View from this and many spots. TFTC SL TNLN

Returning to this nice area it was time to explore a little further than we did last time when we grabbed the nearby caches. We did the whole loop around the lake including careful footing over the creek. We saw a few water dragons and the like. Nice views at GZ with all the lily pads. With no muggles about we made a quick find and took the travel bug. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Third time lucky!!! Gave up looking in the obvious spot and eventually claimed success.

I decided to do a lap of the lake today and grab this cache and the opencache across the water nearby. Nice brisk walk soon had me at gz for a pretty quick find. Beautiful day to sit on the rock and sign the log. Took TB.
Thanks Spindoctors for bringing me back here, had never completed the lake loop before.

A very straight forward find today. GPS was spot on. No muggles in sight.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
This has been on the cards to do for a while. What a magnificent place, so close to parramatta as well! Spindoctors once again showing us great locations to cache in
It was a very nice walk. It took some time to find the container. Thanks alot for this one!!
Wasted some time looking in the obvious place before finding the cache slightly further afield.
You can trust the geocache community to place a cache anywhere you go. Nice place.
The GPSr took me on a merry old dance here - Found a great overhang with a couple of great little holes in the roof, but no cache. Widened up the search a bit and found it nice and quickly after that. TFTC x
The log is on the back of the stash note. Take it out of the bag and unfold it.
Back online. I love this location.
Please note, the size of the cache is now a small container.

Didn't have masses to time to search, but couldn't find it in the places we were expecting. Given the run of DNFs and the fact it hasn't been logged as found since November I suspect this may have gone missing.
Searched extensively above track with no success. Have suspicions of hiding place but seemed too dangerous for me on the day.
Fewer lilypads than in photo but this is good as it appears the rain has flushed the whole lake system. Upstream doesn't smell stagnant and the balance of flora and water 'feels' better.

searched for a long time. sure i was in the right spot but i think it has been moved or muggled. Hint not so helpful as the GZ is full of large rock overhangs. LOL
Looked around what we thought to be a fairly obvious hiding spot based on the description, but could not find it (yet).
We will try again another day.

Took a GPS reading from the last cache and it said 400m. Well having to go around the lake meant it was actually about 2km, which is a nice walk, even in the drizzly rain this afternoon. TNLN. Was disturbed by another bushwalker, the only other person I met on the whole trip this afternoon. Thanks.
What a wonderful spot on the lake and a real pleasure to wander along the foreshores. The bush track makes you feel like your a long way from any where. Well Spindoc, today was a special visit with Joel muggle, the journalist from Radio National doing a piece on geocaching in a bushland setting. Your cache was the star attraction and it was immensely enjoyable finding such a well placed cache in a wonderful location. We continued on around the lake to talk about and find a nearby GCA cache as well.
Thanks for bringing us to this wonderful scenic spot. It was great to go further into the bush until the noise of the nearby highway could no longer be heard, just the chirping of birds, quacking of ducks and rustling of lizards in the undergrowth. Once at GZ it was a quick find.

Had us stumped for a while, then read previous logs, and thanks to the note submitted by Alfyboy found it with the updated co-ords of S33 47.245 E151 00.712.

Finally returned for this one. I had previously tried to find this with Canary and Josh Hoogs, but the cache had been muggled. Today the coordinates were putting us into the lake, as previously stated, but with a look in a few spots, what turned out to the the hide was more than obvious enough. Thanks
Met up here with Team Canary for his 1500th GC. Congrats!!! Both our GPSr's were 15/19m out. I've already found this one, so just wanted to add a note and I also did some averaging for you spindoc. The coords put us in the lake and less than 161 m from utopia cache, but these ones put you over the required 161m. S33 47.245 E151 00.712. Still a great cache and area. Thanx.
1500!!!
For my milestone I wanted to knock off a DNF and honour THE Spindoctors. Thank you for all you have done for Geocaching in NSW.
I left my swaps in the car, so TNLNSL.

Confirmed that the cache was missing. A great pity as it was an ammo cam. Have replaced it with a slightly smaller cache in a new location close by. Still a great view.

Will venture out in the next few weeks with a new cache in hand. Seems like it may be gone and new spot is needed.
found what had to be the location..... gps seemed to point to no other spot it could possibly be... but alas.... no cache to be found.......
Me, Josh Hoogs and Canary spent quite a bit of time here, searching about. We found a spot that seemed very likely for a cache and something that might have once hidden it, but we kept searching for quite a while. Eventually we couldn't think of anywhere else but that spot where the GPS insisted it was. So we rang Gazmag, a former finder, and he described the spot where the cache now wasn't. All three of us had very strong suspicion that this has been muggled.
No find today for Team Canary, bikerbuddy and myself. We believe we found the hide but sadly, no cache. Hope to come back here to try again
Last on our circuit of lake Parramatta today, nice easy find, always love this container

First cache found this morning as two of the glenferns discovered old territory here at Lake Parramatta. We lived near here as kids and have fond memories of launching our canoe on the lake as teenagers. Back then we don't remember the track going all the way around the lake though. Nice walking track, with a bit of exposure on the left to make it interesting, and an easy find. Thanks spindoctors!
Took the long way via the internal road, then convinced myself to take some MTB tracks, that was a waste of time. Got there in the end though, and spoke to a lapsed geocacher along the way
A beautiful spot to have a rest, thanks Spindoc.

After having been to the camping exhibition at Rosehill we decided to walk around Lake Paramatta. We approached from the top and climbed down. Nice views!
Took the low road to GZ. Beautiful views but I'm a little scared of heights! Very nice walk with a nice easy hide at the end! TFTC!
Great excuse to get the geoboy out of the house and come for a walk with me. We chose different paths to travel on both the way there and the way back, As we got close to GZ geoboy raced up and had the cache found before I'd even reached the area. What a great spot to drop a cache. Well worth the short 15 minute stroll to GZ. Thanks for bringing us here Spindoctors, I'm glad we made the effort to do this one today it was just what the "doctor" ordered! We picked up other peoples disgarded water bottles on our way out - keeping good caching karma. Took nothing left nothing One of my local favourite caches!!!
After spotting a good likely hiding spot & not feeling up to too much climbing, I sent the 10 year old to retrieve the cache. Fabulous walk around the lake, I enjoyed it but it wore the 4 year old geokidlet out . I'll have to return another day to find the remaining Lake Parramatta caches.
Thanks for the great walk in a lovely location, we all enjoyed it. 7 year old has been asking about water lillies lately for some reason, so she really liked getting such good views of so many of them.

Another day caching and another picnic lunch at Parramatta Lake. We really enjoyed the walk around the lake today as it was a lot cooler then some of the other visits we have made here recently. Found the cache, exchanged swaps and picked up TB. Thanks love this area. .
Had a close encounter with a Muggle, but managed to keep the secrets of the cache hidden! Took a ball and left a sonic screwdriver. This was a great spot! TFTC
The last unfound cache in our 10km radius was this one and we set out from the North Rocks Rd end on a very warm afternoon. I'm pretty sure the walk was a lot shorter than 1.5km but with all the twists and turns you wouldn't know. Didn't see a soul there today and climbed the hill to GZ. Came in from the top and found a way down, then thought it could have been back up! Finally checked the terrain rating and realised where it could be so sent the geoboy on the errand where he made the find. TB wasn't there but there's been a visitor today so probably they took it. Dropped in a very nice GC.
Thanks! A few weeks earlier and we would have found this one at the Xmas party I guess.

Lots of extra daylight after work as Christmas approaches -- the second longest day of the year -- and what could be a better way to spend that additional time than a walk around beautiful Lake Parramatta?
I'd never before trekked around the north end of this famous body of water, so thought I'd park at the well-known 'Non-Public Crown Road' entrance (near 92 North Rocks Road) and have a go. I didn't think it could be any lengthier than the recommended walk up from the south end car park and cafe.
And so it proved to be. The day started to cool, but the sun was still shining bright. The birds were chirping and not a soul was about. As I walked I could sometimes see glimpses of the lilypads through the trees, floating on the lake, reminding me of my mission.
I guess the winding walk around the long and thin lake was a bit more time-consuming than I expected -- and I had a faint worry that I was going to lose the light before I made it back to the GeoBuru -- but it was probably much less than 3 km overall and I had plenty of time in the end. It seemed shorter coming back.
When I eventually approached the GZ lookout, with a great many lilypads in evidence, I quickly guessed where the cache might be positioned, and I was right! No hurry on such a nice day -- a little bit of a scramble, the usual log duties, a bit of gazing across the water, some photographs for the memories -- and it was very relaxing to be surrounded by nature, yet nearly in the heart of Parramatta.
The classic cache container was a delight. And I found a great log book too! Lots of goodies filled in the spaces of the sturdy box. I had a good look through everything, but in the end TNLNSL.
So this was a storybook summertime cache adventure -- an enjoyable evening stroll, very quiet and pleasant surroundings, a very well-presented and well-stocked geocache. The end of a perfect day!
Many thanks indeed to The Spindoctors for showing how it's done!
