Although it lasted longer than its predecessors, it appears it may be gone now. As I am unable to check it, I'll free up this spot for someone else.

Couldn't find. Removed?

Hmmm. Having read the warnings about the GPS blackspot here I went armed with both sets of coordinates and neither seemed to want to take me to any obvious place.

The fantastic tree in the reserve seemed to be the most obvious GZ of choice, but casting my mind back a couple of weeks to the downpour and flooding which took a toll in this area - combined with the tree still being very wet at a high level - I wonder if the cache would have stood a chance in the flood waters which look as if they peaked at around 4ft.

Perhaps the COs would check this one out at their leisure?

Thanks

Didn't really understand the hint; thought it might be in the river or in a tree?
Had a good long look though, loved the 3 stumped tree Smile

#353 coords were pretty close. Wonderful tree - do you think it has three root systems? Hint made perfect sense. TFTC

05-Jan-14
Found with Michael and his mom.

Evening walk with merrystinga. Tftc

I get a bit cranky by 5pm these days so it's becoming a bit of a habit for daddy to throw me in the FrontPack and take me for a walk when he gets home from work. Mummy came along and we enjoyed a nice walk for my 1month birthday. There were some muggles in the park but they didn't bother us. Daddy says he used to have a cache here so I left a tb here that is important for another one of his caches. Tftc!

Today I Went for the 100 caches in 1 day. With a very early morning and just breaking even at lunch time with 50, it looked like it was going to be 12am to 12pm. But after a move out of the city they started to speed up, and i managed to grab the last at 20:30 with 106!! Thanks everyone for the caches that they have placed, from the ones that have been planed for months to the park and grabs Smile

15-Jan-13
We parked where the Trail starts but were halted very soon after as the creak was in major flood after all our rain in the past 24hrs. Instead we walked around the road and took an alternative path to the park. Found easily. Took Teddy Bear TB and left the Purple Whistle. TFTC.

14-Jan-13
Bit of caching on the way home from a meeting. Used both sets of coordinates, think it was about 1/2 way between the 2 and slightly to the left, unless you turned around.... Got there in the end! Only hint would be don't use the hint. TFTC

05-Jan-13
Great summer evening to be out and about.

24-Dec-12
Finally managed to tick this one off. After several previous attempts, no trouble today. Easy find!!! Well, they always are after you know where they are!!!! TFTC!!

15-Dec-12
Was starting to think I'd have to try the second set of coordinates. The first ones were obviously wrong ... when the light came on and the hide was mad obvious. How did I not see that earlier Smile

13-Dec-12
Finally managed to get to this one as a night time find. Interesting terrain with a bit of slip sliding as my GPS led me on a bit of a dance under the trees. Found cache in a position that certainly went against the hint! Nice to have it off the list at last Smile. TFTC

20-Jul-12
Easy find. Nice park. TFTC

Lovely park, quick find tftc

11-Apr-12
I thought the rain would provide some cover, as the muggles would not be out. Unfortunately it made this site a bit slippery, especially with the GPS sending me to some funny places, due to the tree cover. In the end it was in the obvious place and in clear view, proving I should have searched the area first. I replaced a bit of natural camoflage. TFTC

28-Feb-12
A damp evening find with Hazedarus. Cache was very exposed, have covered with leaf litter.

28-Feb-12
What a nice spot! Never knew it was there yet not much more than around the corner. It was a bit slippery after the rain and a knee took exception, oh well. Another find with Holymu. Thanks

19-Nov-11
Is there no end to these wonderful parks? I wonder if they're all documented somewhere. Thought this might be a difficult find, but it appeared before I really started searching. Love it when that happens. Cheers. TFTC Smile

04-Nov-11
Not the quickest find because of the rain but what a great little park, dropped in Tb TFTC

Nice to come back to this park where the kids often played 15 years ago. Cache found without difficulty.

Scootered right up to this one. Need a bit of river crossing practice for upcoming Survivor Scooter! I think this might pale into insignificance... Cheers.

19-Jul-11
Nana and Poppa Beanso have been bitten by the caching bug and rang today to ask if they could come with us caching. We had no plans so said yep lets go for it. Been here done one near here before, but the oldies hadn't and they amazed this place existed! TFTC

29-Jun-11
This one took me forever thanks to a temperamental GPS! Almost almost almost gave up, but then managed to stumble upon it. Cycled off to the next cache only to realise I'd left my geocaching notebook back at the cache [:(!]

Third cache in this park tried to find it a couple of days ago but my GPS had me up by the fence strange how that happens, but today it was no problem straight to GZ with listed coordinates. Grabbed TB

25-Dec-10
Having patted Old Gnarly down for the third time this year, I was about to ride off when I suddenly realised, my nearest waypoint was the coordinates for Old Gnarly. Didn't take long to find after that. TFTC

25-Dec-10
Dropped this into.

23-Dec-10
Enjoyed the river crossing - refreshing on a hot day. Found the list coords were spot on.

Easy find with Kwaka40.
We came in on the top path and spent a couple of minutes deciding wether we would make it down the bank on our mountain bikes......
Luckily there are too many low tree branches to allow such an attempt..... Smile

11-Dec-10
Ah yes, I remember a previous visit here. A great spot.

11-Dec-10
Nice One!!!!!!!!!Direction to and distance from cache when out in the "open" were spot on, so co-ordinates played only a secondary role. Grandson Bryn picked this one off with ease. Kid is getting good. Always enjoy our visits to this reserve. Magic little spot. Well done. Thanks

10-Dec-10
Deja deja vu for a 3rd cache for me to find in this area. Hope that this one rests in peace for a good long time. Its a cool spot. TFTC, Biggles.

10-Dec-10
The GPS had us in the correct general area but it then took about 10 minutes to find the cache. Not sure which coordinates were best by then. TNlLN TFTC

09-Dec-10
Published coords bang on for me (+/- 1m) . this should last better than the last one. thnx

09-Dec-10
I think that's my 4th find in this area good to be back again. The previous two hides were probably too optimistic, this looks a bit better. Co-ords certainly good enough even with my phone, nicely hidden. TFTC

09-Dec-10
Definitely a feeling of deja vu- again. Good wee spot for a cache though. No probs with co-ordinates. Thanks.

08-Dec-10
FTF Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin This was published as Ms M was heading to bed, so on with our wellies and head torches and not even in our PJ's we headed off to a familiar park, excellent hide and even more fun after after 2 days of rain! Both sets of co-ordinates had us about 6 metres away, the first set was closest, the second set in the stream!
