hmm couldn't understand the hint, sorry no idea , however after over thinking the search I was up and down and yes very Spikey .then I guess I should have tried the easier spots first, doh..Found on our bike tour up to the valley and this was on the return leg,
When I got to the loop turnoff (from bungy bridge direction) I saw on the sign a no bikes symbol. Figured I’d take the next access but it said not recommended for bikes. The cache attributes said bikes were allowed so I was confused. Not being a confident mountain-biker I decided to walk the rest of the way in case it was a serious mountain biking trail. A nice walk with views of the rapids. Definitely could ride my bike here (maybe walk some steeper sections). Cache was quickly found. Grabbed TB and dropped another. On my way back I read the other sign at the loop turnoff (I had only glanced at it previously) which said it was a intermediate bike grade and the No bikes symbol was actually no motorbikes!
Thanks for the cache, phiki614

We are on holiday from California mostly traveling by campervan around the South Island. Today we are on our way to Queenstown, but stopped at the winery and then enjoyed this excellent walk. Thanks for the little bonus for an excellent walk.
This is as far as we go today. Awesome seeing the river start to get rough. I grabbed the trackable the move along to its next spot. I will figure out how to log this side of things properly when I get back to the car. Thanks.
Had not been down to this part of the river trail before. Really enjoyed our trip here today from Whitechapel. Lunch and a ride back. quick find
Thanks for the cache Phiki614

Bring long sleeves or gardening tools for maintainance, the vegetation is a killer. Some bridges and path edges a bit of a challenge if afraid of heights. Nice walk and view over river fork. Lots of delicious blackberries as a treat. Would never have done without cache...thanks.
I thought this was a lonely cache but there are a few names in the log book from this year that are not on the online log. We enjoyed our late afternoon walk with the rabbits! TFTC
Flew in to Queenstown this morning. Pleasant winter’s day, sunny but cool. Parked at the side of the Gibbston Highway and walked from there to locate this cache. Found it without too much effort. The only effort was accessing it without being injured by the inhospitable vegetation! Great views of the river from these parts. #2678. TFTC.
Day 5 in Newzealand. Today we drove from Te Anau to Cromwell.
A very beautiful Country with lovely places. We were able to find nice Caches and See Lots of interesting places.
Thank you for showing us this place.

Gloves and Sleeves! Fashion takes a back seat with the nasty tree. Nice hide to retreat to to do the chores. TFTC The river had some flow going on. Dropped a TB in.
Heading home after a weekend in Queenstown. This was the last one for the day and after a short stroll in the afternoon sun the cache was soon in hand TFTC
Found this one during our holiday in New Zealand.
Today we went from Queenstown to Fox Glacier.
Quick find.

Parked at one of the mainroad vineyards and walked the trail, lots of bunnies in the vineyard having a grand old time with the new grass. Crossed a few bridges and found the cache after spotting the blue (not covered). Swapped some swag and SL. Box got returned to hide with more camo. River was pumping and lots of white goats traversing the hills on the other side. TFTC
Found today while out for a ride from Arrowtown. Decided to ride the loop track which was fun, if not a bit steep climbing back out but this track is a must do in the area, if for the views alone. TFTC, a good size cache in a great spot. A fav point from us too. [^]
Sorry for the lateness in logging my find.
There is a Dunedin cacher I know who spends plenty of time in the Arrowtown area riding the bike trails. So I was keen to get some bike riding in ourselves while we had a few days here without children. This was the first cache we found for the day. Slight drizzle but not enough to dampen our spirits. Husband found it I did the log signing and passed it back.
Thanks for the hide.

Took a wee while to get onto the main track, but it was worth it. Magic views of the river and no one else around. Got to GZ and Ms KR spotted the cache at the botton of the gully where the river would run. Cache all ok and put it back where I thought it fell from. Cheers
Day two of our Easter holiday to Invercargill. Cromwell to Invercargill.
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

TFTC!!! Very well sealed and dry. Fantastic to find a cache so close to Queenstown that is not so frequently found and has no muggles about!
We enjoyed the stunning views of the river, rapids and gold sluicing remains on the other bank from this walk. There is just so much natural beauty around the Cromwell / Queenstown / Wanaka area and a cache to provide the incentive to explore it is just the icing on the cake.
At the end of the walk, the short side-track into the cellar yielded a bottle of pinot noir and one of rose also. TFTC.

Stunning views on this walk. Yes I ended up with a few scratches but worth it. TFTC
Found this together with Housemartin. We are in NZ for the first time. Greetings from Sweden. TFTC
Well have an opp on my shoulder about 4 weeks ago and still got about 4 weeks to go before I'm back at work so I thought I would come visit some friends in Cromwell for a few days so was a great time to find a few caches. So while on the way to Queenstown I thought I would grab a few. This one was a bit of a walk. But it was such a nice day I thought well why not get it and once I had done it is was very glad I took the time to get this one. Well on route to the GZ the views were amazing I see why tourist say we live in a beautiful country but after walking along this track I have to agree with them. I found the cache with no problems bit getting my hand on it was a bit painful. I wouldn't recommend shorts for this one unless you want scratches legs as I have now. But that's the price we pay sometimes to get a cache or two. TFTC ☺
Been away for a week in the cv. Lasy day scheduled at gibston concert. Arrived early for good park. Woohoo cache not to far distant. Needed run. Went down to nevis bluff on cycleway. River dirty and turbulent from overnigjt heavy rain. Tftc
What a great track is this. It was a bit confused when doing the loop. We started at the "left" and thought it would be best to walk around. As it was hot and hot....it was a bit strange to walk first "away" from the parking, a relief to see that it will turn back with a nice bridge to cross.

Quite the thorny challenge getting to this cache, but great hide with an awesome hike and view too!
An interesting bike ride along the trail from Gibbston. The last few hundred metres are not for the faint hearted. The hint is of limited use as there are many of the said objects for miles to the west!!
Despite this, easily found.

Ha! My first cache in New Zealand! Took quite a while because chatting along we took the wrong turn and lost the loop-track. Easy find as soon as you were close enough. Thank you for leading us here!
Great view of an amazing river. Thanks for bring us here. TB There are no more Moa is not in cache.
We enjoyed walking around this loop track, seeing views of the river we have not previously seen. The cache was a quick easy find, apart from the prickles. TFTC
Pleased we went for this walk to find this cache

We biked a short section of the trail http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/tracks-and-walks/otago/queenstown-wakatipu/gibbston-river-trail/map/ including coming past this cache. Great views of the river, but just too hot and windy today.
On our way back to Dunnedin and we needed a little walk before the long drive. This was great. Just enough to give us a little exercise. A really great trail and wonderful views. Thanks so much.
I got a bit lost trying to find the track to this one from the car park - use the small one running along near the vines, not either of the 2 roads below - they're private access!
Another awesome spot on the Kawarau River. Took many pics. Coords were bang on. TFTC

A lovely track along the river. Watched rafters coming down the river. Easy find.
Eldest joined me today as Team GSVNoFixedAbode. Ninth and final of a good batch on the way through to Central. Had a lovely early evening stroll down to the spot then returned up to the seat for a late dinner snack admiring the views. left a couple of trinkets. TFTC!

What a great walk! Didn't do the loop track as were limited for time (had to get back to a tv to watch the Silver Ferns take on Australia in a netball test - this is half time, Silver Ferns are leading). Would love to do the other half another time.
Time was a bit tight so I "cheated" by taking what was (I think) the closest appraoch. Quick run and out - neat place though, Thanks.
Found it and did the whole route the one amazing river God created there! After the ride went to Peregrine Wines. Had a look around nice place.
Found on our first time caching overseas. We have just arrived home from 2 weeks abroad and enjoyed our trip around caching in New Zealand. TFTC.

What a great walk! I took tons of pictures. Yet another spot I wouldn't have found without caching. My sister tried some wine..I had a sip. Beautiful winery and very friendly. Our favorite cache of the day.SL Thanks for the winning winery cache trail cache!
Found in the company of my gt-nephews - who had started to give up the search after 5 minutes. A quick re-check of a likely area saved the day and the cache was in hand. The guys managed to smooth the path for future walkers by launching the larger rocks into the river, and they loved the picnic in the clearing just east of the bridge. Thanks phiki614 for providing the means for a neat adventure for the guys, a great day out and the setting for a fun picnic. Left a McWintrex7 pathtag for the next lucky finder to take away.
TFTC, phiki614. I was in the area and really enjoyed this walk with the great views & bridges. Couldn't quite believe that I'd brought a walking pole all the way from N Canty & then left it in my care - anyway, found the cache, signed the log & continued around the trail. Autumn colours just beginning to show themselves.
Joint visit with ggadget and gang. Been meaning to do this one for a while. What great views of the river. Picked lots of blackberries and went home and made apple and blackberry crumble yummy. tftc, took coin.
All seemed fine as we left the carpark at Peregrine but the weather started to close in just as we started closing in on the cache. We were not put of and continued on, luckily finding the cache relatively quickly. Good to see a new cache on the trail which was recently opened and attarcting quite a few visitors. The cache not only contained a travel bug but also a Geocoin. We grabbed the travel bug TBH1AJ as the kids though it very cute and we live in the heart of it's desired travel location, Middle Earth. This was our first bug encounter which thrilled the kids. TFTC
Just had to do it on the way home from Queenstown. Great country. Another good, well resourced cache phiki614. Thanks. [ ]
We had traveled to Arrowtown to complete the Wherigo ahead of the Cromwell event so thought we would have time for another on the way back. Great walk by the roaring river and a lovely hot Central Otago day it was great to get back to the air conditioning!
Thanks

A good walk with spectacular views of a flooded river thundering down the gorge. A great new walkway with solid new wooden bridges. Meet quite a few other walkers on the walkways today. TFTC
Walked the loop, rewarded our find with some wine from Peregrine, then went to Waitiri Creek for lunch
+ a marble, - nothing.
