Logs
This one hadn’t been found for a while. Sides of road overgrown and couldn’t find hint.
Bamboozled me initialy as I was looking for an old truck, got it in the end though, cheers
had a couple of quick jobs in fairlie this morning then onto Timaru so time for a quick detour, gave Hayden paddon a run for his money heading up the hill ( but an old lady on the way down ).
practically parked on top of the cache giving how quickly I found it this time , how I missed it the first time I have no idea . tftc

will have to tick the dnf box for this one today, made a slight detour after the second job of the morning with nothing to show for it , hope after reading all of the previous logs on my return rather than just a few before I left I may have better luck next time. though I had a proper look but I guess not.
Great views from up here. We grabbed some delicious pies from the bakery in town and then headed up here to munch gazing at the view. As with others, we found the clue misleading, but found quickly after reading previous logs. TNLN SL TFTC.
A bit of movement back and forth over the right but the right location found in the end.
Found with Mporokosa. Would have been there much longer or maybe have to DNF if not for wardsmithfamily's log. Shame the truck is no longer here to give the meaning the cache deserves. TFTC.
We must have looked pretty funny walking all over, and back and forth for this one. Glad to have the previous logs to help us.
Our GPS had been good all day, however here everything was wrong, truck gone, wood was actually concrete, and went W 10m.
And even the view was smogged out, stubble fires all over Sherwood Downs.

I drove up to this from the Fairlie end. Compos mentis? The jury is undecided at present. I would suggest, IF you drive a 2wd, don't like heights and one lane (sparsely) gravelled, steep, uphill roads with corrugated(which cause 2wds to lose traction especially when wet); nowhere to enable you to turn around and backtrack, and steep drops to your driver's right, THEN approach this cache from the Raincliff/Middle Valley Rd end of Rockwood Road. Once I located the cache area, I wasn't about to leave without signing the log. Had to use the clue due to the long grass, and had to search a few options. I was to grab the Rockwood School cache, and hence pick up 2 caches on this road...but having planned a few of these some weeks ago, I somehow hadn't put the school in the GPS and didn't even spot it on the drive home. TFTC Bitsprayer, for a memorable cache! SL
3884. Nothing there but the cache! But there were great views on the way up and magnificent views of the snow-capped mountains in the distance.

Suplementary Hint. Don't follow the main hint! Eventually found, should trust GPS more. Thanks for a lovely country drive
The truck has been towed away according to the farmer we met on the road - still managed to see where it had been parked and found the cache although the clue is a little bit out?
It ain't dead guvnor, it's a Bedford, just 'aving a kip! would have found this a lot quicker if we hadn't looked at the clue! - I still don't understand it - great view here today, thanks!
Would have taken photos if it was daytime - Annie quite likes old decaying machines. Took the boys a bit to find this one, it must be said! TFTC
C;ambered all over the item at GZ in the dark.
We eventually came up withe the goods though.

Cache certainly wasn't where we expected it to be. Funky old truck. Cheers Gav [7516]
It certainly doesn’t look as if the truck is ever going anywhere again. It took a while to find the cache, with the rather cryptic hint, and the coordinates were 12 metres out for us. However, we found a superhero in the back of the truck! Superb views from up here. TFTC
I wonder if any attempt was made to fix the truck and if so how many times before someone said "forget it" and it was left to rust. TFTC
Poor old truck. Hint a good play on words, had us going. Great views getting up here. TFTC
FTF. Quite surprising that it appears to have been abandoned on a downhill slope, Thought they may at least have taken it home!. Great views over the quiet area at this hour of the morning anyway.
