I parked near the fire shed and walked up the path before heading into the bush. I looked at the old coords before realising there were new coords in previous logs that led me to the cache. Thanks Sunny crewFind #6537

My route into this cache was "interesting" - I took the direct path through the valley and dense vegetation after parking on the side of the road, and then realised that there was an easier route by track from the corner. I had a fairly lengthy search around, moving between the posted coordinates and proposed/revised coordinates from others in logs, but like recent visitors, this cache alluded to me. There were a few trees that had come down nearby, so I had a search in those, but nothing. I had a strong suspicion that this cache was missing going by previous photos and logs - I'm not sure how a cache would go missing from this hidden out-of-the-way spot, mind you. Consequently, I sought permission from the CO to replace the cache on their behalf, and thus I left a preform container in a fork of the tree, covered by small natural camouflage, so hopefully this being off the forest floor should be a little easier to find, and last. Thanks Sunny crew for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, my general plan was a northern expedition towards Dayboro, noting that I still had several clusters of ex-Dayboro Mega caches yet to be found. Along the way, I stopped at Cedar Creek Falls and hiked towards Love Creek Falls, and then continued to Dayboro for a bakery lunch. I then continued to head north-east towards Burpengary, and stopped at Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC) to complete the [Burpengary C.R.E.E.C.](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/238e69db-725c-4a77-b5c4-42b7bb4a245b) Adventure Lab.

Shazzar66 and I spent a fair while looking for this cache. After a while, we used the corrected coords found in a log below. Still couldn't find the cache. Referenced an old photo. Still couldn't find the cache. I might be blind though. Lots of leaf litter around GZ. Hoping it's still there.

We looked for a while but could not find it

2nd time looking for this one, used FelixII's coordinates this time and from there it was a quick find. Contents are a bit damp but otherwise cache is in good shape. Signed log and left a swap. TFTC.

My geodog Scruffy wanted to look for some caches, so I thought "why not?"
So we headed out & found a few in the Dayboro area.

The cache hide is about 17m out, so made it an interesting and time consuming find.
Thankfully a previous log said about the tree had fallen, and that narrowed it down.

We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.

Day 3 of our stay in Dayboro to find all those puzzles we solved in anticipation of the mega. We decided we better get a bit more serious or we were never going to finish anything so we targeted the Horse series today with mixed fortunes.

The hint is no longer helpful as the tree has fallen over - we used FelixII's coordinates and there it was!
Thanks for contributing to the fun Sunny crew

Staying in Dayboro for a while. Theres definitely no being bored. Weve been tucked inside solving as many puzzles as possible and using lifelines to get help when we hit a brick wall. Today we headed out to convert a couple of smilies. Razz Big day out 44/51. Lots of overgrowth after the recent rains all making for some challenging caching today.

Wow took some looking but finally found at s27 14.987 e152 50.255

Saturday morning and I decided to head to Dayboro once more to complete the Horse geoart, minus the disabled one, a few more of the We?? Geo and of course anything else that got in the way.

It was reasonably quiet on the back roads and apart from a few dodgy parking spots all caches were found in good condition.

After parking nearby I headed off to GZ and llike those before me, wandered around until I narrowed it down and found the cache. I had it 15-16mtrs from the posted coords.

Log signed and all returned as found.

We made the decision to spend another week at the Dayboro showgrounds to give ourselves the opportunity to find more of the many caches that have been placed in the area. Finally the rain has nearly become non existent and bar for one short heavy burst it has been a rain free day. The area is still showing signs of all the rain we have had recently with the creek flowing fast and in places the roads are covered. We found all of the caches that we attempted today but one. Found at 10:38:00 AM GAFF5 in the company of maccamob.
We had a lot of trouble finding this one - and not just because it was raining and it was slippery getting up the embankment!
For a T of just 1.5, we didn't expect to go up the embankment to start with and then when we eventually found the cache our GPSr's were showing 12 - 14 metres out Surprised
Thanks Sunny crew

#2294 - Commuting to the Qld Mega every day with gcraider. Having finished all the Lab Caches and attended a few interesting seminars it's now time to explore further afield.

We have solved all the "Horse" puzzle caches and will attempt to find a few in between showers if we can help it. On the way we pick up a few trads as well.

Apologies for the generic logs on these, but during a Mega there generally isn't enough time to write essays..... Wink Finding caches and having fun is our main aim.

I found this cache as part of the Dayboro Mega Event. We found this cache after completing the letterbox caches on Postman's Track. We parked on the main road and headed over to the shrub behind the rural fire station. Looked at the hint and at first didn't understand the mowed area reference. Then moved out search area and found the cache. Thanks for the experience.

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.

Not the best day for caching due to the weather but we still had fun slipping n sliding.
Thanks for the cache.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??

On a dismal and wet afternoon we worked out a caching run with ilook4geo which included a mix of traditional, challenge and puzzle caches. All containers were OK and each log was dry. Sometimes full caching names were used and sometimes it was just initials. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache, which was a pleasure to find.

Day 1 of the GOM invasion of Qld. B@W I were the advance party and targeted as many Dayboro caches as ppssible in an attempt to achieve types in a day and 100 finds in the day with our guest member Bahumbug. In between intermittent torrential rain we jumped in and out of the car all day for lots of great fun & finds.
All caches were in good condition.

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.

Thanks.

24,068. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!

With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 4. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way This was the first stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks CacheQLD !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Then ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Continuing our country drive after spending the morning at our first mega event. We parked down near the road and trekked up the hill into the bush edge. Just signing the log when some more cachers arrived driving right up to the bush. It wasn't too hard to find when we followed the muddy trail left by finders before us today. Passed the cache on to the new arrivals and made our way carefully back down the hill so as not to slip.

Took a hunt but we got there!

Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize. It was a wet day today but we still managed to grab a lot of caches as we navigated the rain and puddles.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

Coordinates off at least 10m. More like 20 cm diameter than what's in the hint. Started raining while we were searching, but worth it.

Solved these the surrounding puzzles over the last couple of months in evening after evening and hit the trails today. It was quite frantic at times, but spirits kept up with the 7 of us - Kittykatch, Joolay, barb2e, LuckyLion, smittengranny, Sol de Lune and I.

Sorry for the generic logs, but this was a bit much for my brain. I will try to add my field notes where I made them.

Start of my generic logs I guess.
Well, I didnt think it was all going to come together but it did.
The guys from Sydney cancelled then came again.
Out with PPE and B at W and sometimes the MEGATRONS CBBPT.
The MEGATRONS started back at Casey Fields in 2015, Got rebooted in 2017 at Lake Eildon and its been a few years since more than two members have been at the same mega and caching together...so the MEGATRONS live on in 2021...even after covid.

thank you Monkers

#11055; Day nine of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. Arrived in Dayboro Thursday afternoon and started our socialising and caching in the area. Our caching continued today as part of Team Capital Crunchers, along with Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and barb2e. Our mission today was solved puzzles, in particular the "Horse" geoart series, but we picked up caches from other geoart series, along with other caches we passed along the way. Most caches were found without incident, some harder to get to than others! All in all a damp at times, but otherwise pleasant day caching around the area again before cleaning up ready for the trivia night. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC Monkers Smile
