Logs
Not many logs to check but no find. May have been removed if the containers that big!
Dnf. I searched few logs close to the fence corner, I am sure I cannot miss 2l container, this one must be gone.
I really enjoyed today off on Cardrona Cromwell Pack Track, starting from Swann Road (Lowburn). I met only 1 person. Tired but satisfied

** I am not breaking any laws. Just very behind in logging. Safely from the comfort of my own home **

What a great spot! Granddaughter located the cache by chance - she must be used to us looking in such places! We were first in the hut and enjoyed a bit of quiet before many more people arrived, but they mostly decided to pitch a tent. TFTC!!
Sorry about late log, forgot to log on return from walk group walk. Yes container broken. TFTC.
#1222 - First of four caches today on what ended up being an unexpected 48km day hike.
Starting at the Cardrona end of the Roaring Meg Pack track, I made my way up to Tuohy's Saddle before turning off towards Meg hut.
Megs hut is in fantastic shape, very clean and well looked after, also in a great spot by the river. Spending a night here would be very relaxing.
The cache's original container seems to be gone however there was an alternative container with a log, although this seems to be falling apart.

Came here on a over nighter bikepacking trip. One of my favorite huts.
The log is very hard to get out of bottle and had to use a piece of wire that I left with the bottle.

Camped here for a couple of nights of solitude. No sign of the box, but there was a bottle with a new log left in the place indicated by the hint, so I'm assuming that is the new hide.
Found without searching it... First time it happens!
Thanks for the cache.
Nice night in Meg Hut!!!

Found accidently. Not sure if it is actually in right position. Is pretty easy to find for everyone who is looking for some wood for heating... But thanks for that anyway. Is just my second cache in NZ. Hope will be more
Daywalk and a bunch of others from the tramping club spent a fun night at the hut, collecting Geocaches on the way in and back out the next day.
We came up the Meg from the Miners Hut, admiring the gorge, the old stone hut ruins and the waterrace. So, heading towards the hut the GPS beeped, and there it was! Amazing how many people have found the cache accidentally; it's fun to read their chatty logs.
Rode (and pushed) my mountain bike from Cardrona up Tuohys track to Meg hut for lunch. Delightful setting, thanks for getting me up here. 40mins return mostly downhill.
Third of 3 caches found on a mammoth gutbusting, legbusting 28km return hike up to Queensberry Hill today. Stinking hot at 28deg, fabulous weather, sweated buckets but delighted to hike in such amazing countryside. After climbing up and down the Queensberry Hill half the group decided to go on to the Meg Hut. Noticing there was a cache there I just had to be in that group too. Lucky it was mostly flat and downhill to the hut. Grabbed the cache quickly, nice hut. And then the difficulty started. Tiredness/exhaustion had set in and it was still a long way back to the start/cars. We hiked down the river which had almost no track with only tussocks, boulders and the upper riverbank to follow. Unused to such awkward terrain, making poor decisions when very tired, where chest high tussocks hide solid footing from hidden holes, nasty spaniard grasses just waiting to prick you, where one slip and you are down into the river. Avoyager soon found a very big hole and then shin met hidden rock, halting me in my tracks. As much blood gushed as the river was running. No other option but to continue on walking, leg thumping in agony. Eventually using up a lot of energy, made it back on to marked the Roaring Meg track. 2.5hrs of full concentration still ahead, where one stumbling foot mistake on the steeper slopes of the Roaring Meg track would be your last was even more tiring. The relief when the last corner was rounded to see the cars parked about 500m away. A very hard earned 3 caches for the day. And one of the hardest 28km hikes I have ever done.TFTC.
Found with GillygangGoo. Nice hide. Nice hut. Staying night in the Meg Hut. Then heading towards Lowburn.
Arrived at Meg Hut just as it started snowing. Great timing, as the weather cut up a bit rough shortly after. Good chance for a wee afternoon nap while the storm passed. Stayed the night in the hut then carried on towards Lowburn the next morning. Managed to keep my feet dry crossing the Meg creek which was a bonus. Found with Sting1606. TFTC!
Tramped here and back from the lowburn carpark in the day, and it was all of the day - 10 1/2 hours. Decided to keep the boots dry so waded over in bare feet when the stream at the hut was reached.
Tramping the Lowburn Pack Track, from Lowburn to Meg Hut and then out to the Roaring Meg power station.
Great weather, awesome views and many caches to find !

Geocache box was in the hut on the shelf when we arrived! Returned contents to the box that was on shelf and replaced it where it should be. Left geocoin that had to be placed in wilderness area so i hope someone goes and moves it on before winter. tftc. Stayed the night in the hut, had a lovely a fire. If staying remember your handheld saw for collecting wood.
Episode 6.
A short push of the bikes with there flat tyres took us to the end of the 4 wheel drive track. We decided to repair the punctures where we could to save the spare tubes but found that our only tube of tyre cement had gone dry. We also had less spares than expected so replaced the 3 worst leakers and accepted that the remaining tyre would need frequent pumping.
Anyway, On to Meg hut with some good riding at last and then a carry down the last section to the hut.
Had a most refreshing skinny dip in a great little swimming hole in Winter Creek near the junction with the Meg.
