Today, I had organised with Freddo and gridge98 to ride the Northern Expressway bikeway to complete the *Nexy Challenge* series geocaches. We rode the full distance, and then in the afternoon, jesswrigley and I visited the south-eastern end of Cleland Conservation Park and took a few walks around the area. The day began cold spitting a little, but towards the afternoon, it turned out to become quite warm and not too hot; almost the perfect day to be outside and hiking.
Freddo, gridge98 and I had set off early to complete this series. Both gridge98 and I had yet to find these geocaches, and Freddo had recently acquired these and was in the process of performing maintenance for a few that had accumulated DNFs. We rode past here, stopped, and managed to find this cache after a short search. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. This was a dang sneaky bison container! Thanks Burton's for the cache placement, and equipe de cinq for its ongoing maintenance.

Today I headed out with the godfather (Freddo) and Davidwazza to complete the next challenge trail and start the next big thing. A nice ride along the trail for the whole 50km as we went from Gawler to Port Adelaide. A great day out with over 40 finds.,

Found it but needs new paper. I have put couple in there. Found with superman_22 and geodog Roxy. Bit wet but still can write on it.
Rex and I took the ebike out for a run down the Nexy tonight
Luckily Rex doesn't run in front of it too often
We found 2 caches and then turned and rode back to where we had left the car[^]
I'd even managed to get the front light working[^] which my SIL had not been able to do a few nights ago

Thanks to some recent slashing of grass by the DPTI work gang (or their contractor), this cache was spied while still a few metres away. TFTC.
In the area for non caching related things but had time to walk in on this one with Bindi the geo pooch!!!!! seriously busy this morning ….. I think about a 100 cyclists went by!!! Thanks Burtons for the hide!!
First time out on the bikes in a long time. Decided to make a start on this series. Nice weather for a ride with a light cooling breeze. TFTC!
The Nexy Challenge # 3 was transferred from Burton's to user equipe de cinq
Protected by a golden orb and hiding under some foliage but we found it took a few min one eye on orb one eye searching TFTC
9km walk with the pram today. Grabbing a few outstanding caches along the nxy. Nice cool day, no rain and a some warm sunshine. Cache log soggy, will need replacing real soon.

Out for a morning cache with my GeoSon and #Bones5. Successfully completed Nexy Challenge 12 - Start. Now only a few further north that have since been replaced after DNF's. Thanks
With a stopover on the road behind, the last of this Nexy series was finally signed off.
Cache appears to be a micro though now, along fenceline, not under bush!
One day I'll actually ride along here, but the walks and stops have ben fun

After seeing recent logs decided it was time for a return visit. Parked not too far away and after a short walk was climbing up towards the freeway.
Was only by thankfully ignoring the hint, and to a certain extent the co-ords, that the cache was quickly in hand.
Now only one Nexy cache left for me to find
Thanks for the cache Burton's

Couldn't sleep last night so decided to take a long ride, nice cool night to pick up the last of the nexy trail plus a few on the way back home.
Visiting Adelaide for the TDU. Huge apologies; started logging finds (and my DNF) the night I rode the series but was burning the candle at both ends, ran out of time and clearly forgot to go back and log them. Now that I'm planning this year's trip I've discovered the problem. Thanks for the great, bike friendly series....I even have some photos from the series.
Had a good look around after battling my way up to the road but no cache was revealed before the allotted time was up.
Hopefully I'll have more luck next time with finding the right bush, seems to be a bit hard to be a one star difficulty
Thanks for the hunt Burton's

Nice walk but getting dark. Bushes look like they are growing up!
Will have to return

Change of plans today due to unforeseen circumstances saw me hire a bike instead and hit the Nexy trail, riding the full length followed by a quick stop in Gawler and then the express journey back. There were a few DNF's but for the most part the caches were all in good condition.
This was find number 2 of 42 for the afternoon for me. TFTC Burton's!

Looked under lots of bushes but couldn't find this one. All I left with was dirty hands.
Staying in Gawler, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
Headed out today, to do The Nexy Challenge.
With only 1 electric bike, geo-hubby drew the short straw, and got dropped off at the start.
Geo-wife picked up a few in the area, before returning to the end of the series, to wait.
Apart from being a but chilly, it was an easy ride, mostly along level ground.
All the caches were found quickly, signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for the hunt today, Burton's.

On our tour of Australia via Oz Mega we are currently staying at Highway 1 Caravan Park.
A lateish start today as has become our custom . We joined forces with iluvtrekking so we could get the bikes out and about (needed their car for the bike rack!)
What a fabulous day, great company some interesting caches and no rain!
Sadly there were a few DNF's, but still was a fabulous day to ride the electric bikes.
All in all, a successful fun day was had whilst finding geocaches! That's what Geocaching is all about isn't it.
Thanks for helping us meet our objective today with your caches.

We joined forces with FelixII today for another days caching in the greater Adelaide area before our imminent departure. The boys set out on the bikes to hunt down the Nexy series, while the girls had a much more sedate day which involved stopping for coffee along the way.
We had a great day, thanks for your cache Burton's

Team Crackers mentioned they were prepared to complete The Nexy Challenge while in town so we were more than happy to go along. I love the Nexy trail and now that I've found all of these new caches I'll be able to ride end to end uninterrupted ;-P Seriously, we really had fun along the trail -- had lots of laughs. I'm ashamed to admit that Spook was able to go so much faster than I could handle! I tried to keep up with him and nearly collapsed a lung! haha. Really great fun, thanks Burton's!
We were coming back after spending a couple of days in Portland with Dad and thought that we would try our luck with another part of this series and also have another look for a couple we couldn't find on our last visit. We weren't sure how we would go starting at the wrong end but the parking turned out to be easy and safe.
The only problem we had was crossing the road to get to the caches as there were heaps of cars using the road today. We aren't sure if it was the holidaymakers heading back home or people avoiding the roadworks and taking the more scenic route. We had a great time collecting all the caches along here with the various hides and saw quite a few curious cows. Thw wind blew a gale for most of the time we were there but it did create some great white caps on the reservoir near the end of our journey. With so many caches found in such a short time we apologise for the generic log but we can say we really enjoyed this section of the series and found these to be easier hides than the first section was for us.
Thanks D'Belco for breaking up our journey. We came over to sort out a few details with The Oz Mega committee and mentioned that we would like to try the Nexy series. Semik & Skippy said that they would like to do it as well and after a long talk with the white bear Southerncross Caching also decided to join in. With hangovers in hand we arrived here this morning with full intentions of taking notes of each hide. Unfortunately all the good humored banter and friendly rivalry got in the way. We had 2 dnf's early in the piece at numbers 3 & 5 but luckily Skippy and Semik had spare containers in the car so after completing the series we returned to replace these two caches. We apologise for the generic log but on the day fun got in the road and the note pad never came out of the pocket. We can see we really enjoyed the ride and the company and also some of the metal signs along the way.

Found on a lovely long weekend Monday morning out before it got to hot. I met up with Skippy, Semik and Team Crackers at the Western end and off we went, up hill and into the wind mind you
The start was not so good with 2 DNF's in the first few, however these were rectified on the return journey. In the end we managed a find on all in the series so for
There was much fun, frivolity and yes Skippy even stoped to ingress along the way [^]
All in all a great day, although there was the odd time I wish I had one of those bikes that Spook was on [:o)]

Today saw me evacuate the long term tenants that had occupied all the nooks and cranny's of my bike, a quick wash and some WD40 in the right places and i was ready to tackle this one, geowife dropped me off near #41 and we arranged to pick me up from Pt Wakefield rd when completed, the attributes claimed it was less than 10 ks so i should handle that OK .....in the end i believe it was around the 15 k mark loll, this was a very pleasant trail to do, i really enjoyed this one as i was in no hurry, the caches were easy to find and i got to see some of the scenery that you cant admire traveling 100 kph down the expressway, i didn't realize there was so many almond trees on that property, it was interesting reading all the signs along the way. TFTC
Over a year since my last visit, and this time sucess. I abstained the long bike ride this time, as I've done it a few times now, and just drove to the nearest point and walked in the rest of the way. Easy find this time around.
Thanks for the cache, Burton's

You know you have a keeper when your wife says "I want to go geocaching for mothers day"
There were a few new caches that have managed to invade there way into my closest to home circle, so knocking them off was a must.
This was the next on the nexy that i needed to do.
Thank you Burton's

Having completed the NXY series (now archived) some time ago, I felt duty bound to also do these ones. TFTC
Stuck on this for a bit but I spotted a nice little hidey hole. I left a Japanese trading card
Out caching on a nice December evening. We decided not to leave the car at one of the dead ends created by the Nexy and walk for the rest. So we drove to each dead end for the first four. TFTC Burton's!
Took on the NEXY Challenge, and did 6 ofthem this morning.

[:(!] Flew in from Perth with geowife a few days ago to visit my geoson (Revolutio Solutio) and his geofamily, I suggested that we do the Stuart O Grady bike way and he agreed, parked the geocar as close as possible GC2KFQB, unloaded our pushbikes and the geojourney began, on arrival at GZ we had the cache in hand in a matter of minutes, this was one of sixtythree before lunch.

Last week we tried to finish off unfinished business. To find the lost cache which has now since been moved. But unfortunately (or fortunately for the lost dog, we found him) and ran out of light to complete what we were out to do. Mind you the gate we thought we were going to use was locked.
Took the young lad out on a short bike ride to get him use to riding again and whammo, there it is. Thanks Burton's for putting the cache back where it is more user friendly and also the plants thank you.

Wow amazing to see the rapid growth of all the shrubs and trees.
We have relocated this cache with the desire to stop deterioration of cachers treading through the undergrowth.
You will no longer need to leave the bicycle way to grab this cache
The cache is now a small clear plastic container.
The GPS was averaged for over 1 minute so should be spot on.
The new coords are S 34 41.575, E 138 35.186

There are 2 caches here - an eclipse under a bush, and a normal to be found.
The eclipse should be removed, and the names in the tin moved to the correct log.
The normal may need a coordinate check to ensure geotrails don't kill the plants.
Cheers and Thanks

Parked at the end of the road and enjoyed the traverse to GZ.
Took a bit of time hunting around and was about to give up when I spotted something evil
A tape covered eclipse tin under a bush
Added my name to the paper in the tin (which was painful to extract) and was surprised there were only a couple of other names on it. I didn't hide it very well, as finding the eclipse under that bush was not easy. I enjoyed the view of the trains going past, but I was cursing as I left over the cache - until I clicked on the cache page and read through the logs.
Hmmmm. This is a replacement cache and there was probably a bigger cache to find!
Still claiming a find, but I suggest owner maintenance to remove this second cache.

P.S Doubt I'll get North again until next year, so could be quite awhile before I log another Nexy cache.

Couldn't find this one today. Also had trouble last Monday 1st October. Plenty of bushes trampled but this one is certainly not the same as the other caches.
Have another look another day.

On a caching trip with Robmc and The Morris - a hectic run over three days. We brought our bikes over for this series alone, although we did get some use out of them for other caches. This was the second series of caches we did. We arrived from Murray Bridge and came straight to the trail. It was a fine but extremely windy morning but we enjoyed the journey. There must have been a lot of rain over the weeks before as a lot of the caches were glued in the mud and their logs were either damp, wet or mushy beyond help. A lot of the logs were also very full, so a maintenance run might be worthwhile.
Thanks for the cache Burton's

Day 4 of our journey from Bendigo, caching with Robmc and Betty Boo3747 on some of the power trails and series our SA cousins had to offer.
We had brought the bicycles over so we could tackle this trail and with the weather predicted to be in the 30s we wanted to get it underway early. As it happened it didn't get that hot but we were really pleased that we had long pants on as most of the grass was armpit high. Well my armpits anyway. Its a great idea for a series and thanks for the effort

Spent today caching with The Morris and Bettyboo3747.
We had brought the bikes over specifically to do the NXY trail. We dropped a car at either end, and began our journey at Gawler.
The weather was kind to us, and we only had a head wind for a few caches.
Lots of stopping, jumping off, searching, logging, and dashing off again.
The cache is on the wrong side of the hill - instead of a break on the only uphill section, we stopped on the downhill bit!
A very nice series of caches on a very flash trail.
Thanks, Robmc.

Mr & Mrs M-SEZ went on a cache date today while the geo-kids were in school. We did most of this series by car, and due to Mr M-SEZ's dodgy navigation it was totally out of order. Had to do a bit of extra searching here, but we got it. TFTC

During an early morning trip to meet Lilysu in Adelaide, Boxer decided to slip by and have another go at this one, having noticed it has been replaced.
We did think we had looked quite thoroughly last time . This time he put his hands almost directly on what turned out to be a cache signed in October last year by The Sewer Rats - which means it is probably the second cache placed in this area.
I wonder how many choices we have now?

Another stop in a blur of caches along the expressway. Did the entire length with Beagle and Me on our bikes. A great day of caching. TFTC
I did replace this cache. Spent ages looking and saw there were a couple of DNF's so took a little liberty.
If in error, the owner can let me know and I will have another crack at finding the cache.

With D of DEMolineux we set off on our bikes for the Nexy adventure which has been on our 'to do' list for a long time. The weather was perfect, so it's Gawler of bust ! We made it. 62 caches in total. TFTC SL We could not find this cache either. Added to the other recent DNF's we put a replacement cache at GZ. Owner may like to check and remove the replacement if we were just not looking hard enough
Arrggghh! Looked for a while but gave up. Not my favourite kind of hiding spot, I confess. At least I have a good reason to come back.
Wow what a day.
We completed the NXY, APM, WH and TdF powertrails in one power caching day.
Appreciate all the caches we found today and enjoyed them all.
This cache was either to small for us, it was too dark or it bust our 30 second search rule.
Maybe another day then.
Cheers GUIO

I was pleased to have an excuse for a rest half way up this steep slope. After a good look around, we left without a smilie however.
