Found it but looks like the wind has blown it off. Have put it back but needs to be refilled
Suscoe was in the area today heading homeward.A cool start to the day and a bit of moisture on the grass.A bit of sun shining through every now and again,We enjoyed exploring the suburbs as we wandered south and south west from Ferntree Gulley. Thanks to ahomburg for this multi. We were here a while back with no luck.Today we rectified that.
Outnabout for some solo caching while in town for a couple of days. I Went geocaching and all I got was an offer to play in the cricket match. They were obviously desperate and thought I needed something to do while wandering around the ground endlessly. Its always a great day for caching. TFTC ahomburgCO Feedback: A check sum would have been handy. The description advised I was looking for a 200ml Sistema, but I found a painted blue preform? Im hoping its not a throw down and that the cache page just needs updating?
I went geocaching and all I got was a walk around this park. I went geocaching and all I got was a bit confused. I got caught up on the number of slides and the number of light poles. After a bit of trial and error I worked out a very nice set of calculations. So in the end I went geocaching and all I got was a smiley face I cant complain about that! Thank you ahomburg for placing and maintaining I Went geocaching and all I got was....#4 Olympics for us to find today.
Third visit and we finally got it!1. Possum was in there2. Nothing was there3. Came back when we saw the cache got replaced. Thanks so much.
Noticing that the cache had been replaced, Redcb and I called by here today and signed the log. Thanks ahomburg.
3rd visit to the park, still looking in the same spot. Reached out to 2 PAFs who confirmed our location and spot. Finally a little climb and no luck either.
With RedcbBluebm today, we toured the park and gathered the information required to the best of our ability. The coords did not look correct however so, after a discussion with the CO, we returned to GZ but could not locate the cache. I'll keep a watch on it for future logs. Thanks anyway, ahomburg.
I Went geocaching and all I got was nothing.
I tried solving the puzzle and the coordinates didn't work out. Played with the obvious number that was incorrect and it gave me a better coordinate, but still nothing could be hidden there. I Went geocaching and all I got was nothing.
I started looking in all the trees nearby my suspected coordinates, including climbing a few trees. But still, I Went geocaching and all I got was nothing.
Then I tried the old PAF trick. The CO didn't seem to be online, and only 1 PAF replied but hadn't saved the final. I Went geocaching and all I got was nothing.
As such, I gave up. But sitting in the car, I had an idea and I no more need to say I Went geocaching and all I got was nothing. I found it.
Thanks for the cache A Homburg

I think I ended up visiting this reserve 3 or 4 times. Not a huge fan of multi's that involve collecting information that I generally have to note down somehow, or counting the number of this or that. A couple of muggles were in the stand as I went about counting downpipes, with one of them asking me, 'You right mate? You need a hand with something?' to which I replied, 'Nah, just collecting info as part of a game.' 'Oh right, life's a game.' he says. Yep, so my numbers fell apart and clearly I needed to contact the CO or previous finders. The logs also suggested it wouldn't come easily.
Admittedly my second visit I went wandering trying to find the cache blind. I was sure it would be on that side, but no luck. So a confirmation for numbers from the CO but the GZ it gave me still didn't look right. A previous finder confirmed a typo in the CO's numbers and finally I had a location.
Now facing GZ, I was a little struck by how a cache was hidden there. No attribute indicating this might be involved, but soon learnt that it was indeed not required. Only really one spot in which to retrieve the cache from and that I did. Frustrated when I couldn't see any clue so I asked the same finder if they had seen it but by this stage I'd already replaced the cache back. Retrieved the cache again, eventually found the clue and noted it down. Two finds in one really.
Thanks to the CO for placing the cache and making it not so easy and to horror.fan for the additional assistance.

TFTC make sure you read previous logs, otherwise won’t have much chance in finding the cache.
After recounting, then consulting a PAF I finally got coordinates which seemed much more likely. Reaching the cache then became the biggest problem. I called The Walking Ladder from the car and just as he got out of the car I managed to recover the cache with a natural object found on the ground close by. It was just as useful putting the container back in place. This little park has some good facilities. Some might have changed since the cache was made.
Took me forever, but it's still there! Clearly some of the hints are pretty up to interpretation/out of date, but subbing in random values for the not-so-obvious numbers got me there pretty quickly.
If it helps, I imagine there used to be a few more wooden poles. More than there are downpipes, even

Thanks for the explore around the park! The only aspect I struggled with was the drain pipes as there was training going on and I couldn't count them up close but worked it out. Tftc!
Found with LazyAde, after enjoying our favourite souvas in Huntingdale. The cricket was on, but this did not stop us enjoying a walk around the full circuit, collecting the clues as we went. Our only query was whether the steel light poles in the driveway counted as well as those around the oval, but once inserted into the formula it was obvious which answer was correct. Otherwise we had no trouble getting the other required numbers. Lucky Chook had LazyAde with her as otherwise it would have looked quite amusing to watch her try to retrieve the cache. TFTC ahomburg and we learnt a little history at the first waypoint as well.
This proved to be quite a challenge. Most of the information was obtained without a problem but the number of wood/metal light poles was a problem. Initial calculations put the GZ kilometres away. Looking at other logs we made some assumptions and recalculated - a more realistic solution but we still don’t have a complete set of values we are happy with. Anyway off we walk and surprisingly there was the container. So right answer but more by good luck. Given other logs the questions may need to be revised. Thanks to ahomburg for the challenge.
Working on my multi month challenge. After a couple of incorrect cords and a hint from the CO the cache was in hand. TFTC
Gathered all the data the other day and sat down at the nearby table and plugged it into the formula give in place of the relevant letters. This was to see me directed kilometres away for the final cache location. In the end I returned home and sat down to figure out where I had gone wrong. This exercise tended to indicate that one of the letters may well have seen a reduction due to council action. Replacing it with what I believed a couple that used this number should be, I was at the GZ and signed the log.
I have dried out the container and its contents so it should be good for some time to come.
TFTC ahomburg and all your others.

Goodness, there were a few things to be counted that were subject to interpretation. Does a light pole need to have a light on it. Hmmm. I ended up sorting out which numbers were known to be correct, which numbers were subject to interpretation and which numbers were not necessary. I was not confident, however I found the cache in the first place I looked, so I must have counted things correctly. There was water in the container but the log was dry. Nice to get lucky sometimes.
I've driven past this oval many many times but never stopped in. Was happy to see it is an off leash dog park and there were heaps of dogs here this afternoon. It was freezing though with the cold wind and the sun going down. We did a lap collecting info before letting the geo dog socialise for a bit before we took a seat and did the calcs.
Unfortunately we were were out a fair bit and after reviewing the coordinates was clearly wrong with at least one, so through a bit of trial and error managed to work out a likely spot in the park. A bit of circling and overthinking before I had the container and signed the log before jumping back in the car and heading home to beat the peak hour traffic. TFTC!

Had to try several different numbers as some questions didn't have obvious answers. Finally found the right combo and found the cache -TFTC
I've been meaning to do this multi pretty much since I started caching, but for some reason had never gotten around to it until now.
Having dropped my youngest off at a sporting activity not too far away, rather than head home again I grabbed a take away coffee and came here for a combined stroll and info-gathering exercise.
Before too long I had all the numbers (and then adjusted my figure for the number of wooden light poles, courtesy of McLookers' log - although I also had a bit of internal debate as to what technically constituted a "light pole", so had two different numbers to try for that variable) and retreated to my car to do the sums.
My first pass was clearly not correct, unless the CO had decided to make the final for this 65.9km away (which seemed unlikely given the difficulty!) and then I tried my alternative set of numbers, and that was even worse...
After going back over things again I realised where I'd gone wrong - my initial set of variables were correct but I'd made a rookie error calculating, and my third set of numbers made perfect sense.
Another stroll later and I was at GZ, which also matched up nicely with the hint, so I figured that I was on the money, however a good 10 minutes or more of increasingly frustrated searching later and I still could not find the cache. Nothing else within reasonable range could be the hiding place - it had to be where I was looking, but apparently not...
Disappointed after seemingly working it all out, I started to wander back to my car, only to almost step on something on the ground a few metres away, which turned out to be the container, thoroughly smashed but still with log book (still in plastic bag), pen and several bits of swag within the largest piece of the remains. I assume it was muggled, but in the past when I've happened upon such things usually the contents are scattered everywhere, so its a long shot but I'm thinking perhaps it somehow ended up on the ground and then maybe a muggle walked or rode a bike over it without noticing, as the plastic is very old and brittle...
Signed the log and then went back to my car to look for a bag or container to house it all in but there was nothing there, so I've put it all back in place at GZ, covered with some natural camo - will add a "needs maintenance" note and email CO with details/photos.
Thanks for the cache and series, ahomburg.

Container is smashed. Put all contents in the lid and concealed at GZ with natural camo. Will contact CO with pics and details.
PS Not sure why but I couldn't post a "Needs maintenance" log, so apologies for the note format.

In the area this morning so I decided to target some multis. I parked and enjoyed the walk and the count. My first attempt did not look at all correct. Using some geosense and finally realising that 4 wooden poles are no longer there, I set of towards my calculated GZ. Yippee, I found the cache. Thanks ahomburg, I enjoyed the walk, this is a very well kept recreation area. Took TB.
Out and about with OHC who had already found this one. Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.
So glad to be able to get out and about with fellow cacher echidna44. Just heading for a picnic at Braeside we checked out a couple on our way. Walking around the oval we quickly picked out the clues using a little bit of geo sense. Soon headed to gz to make the easy find. Thanks for the cache ahomburg.
Out with xambo4u on our way to a picnic in the park, we stopped for a cache or two. We queried one question, but came up with a good answer, and were soon signing the log.
Thanks for the lovely multi ahomburg.
Thanks for the lovely multi ahomburg.
I HAVE to attempt this one at some stage because the 1st cache in this series was actually the very first cache that I found
Filling in time while my daughter visits hospital. Parked in the shade to then discover that there was a multi starting only 12m away.
Did the numbers but made a terrible hash of the calculation leading to a gz that was a long long way away. Manipulated one of the numbers until a closer gz fell out of the calc, and went there for an easy find.

YAPIDKA - but so many in Melbourne Finally and a bit by chance since I’m 5’2” and I knew I should be within coooeeee! TFTC
I stopped here about 2 years ago and attempted the count at 6am in the dark, but failed miserably. Walked away with no usable numbers. Today I parked, took a short walk and signed the log, who needs maths or co-ords. Thanks for the cache only 240 multi's to go to get your multi challenge
To be honest, The Yank or I must have stuffed up on the counting, because our final co-ordinates put us about 4 km away from the start of this multi, which didn't seem right. So we read the previous logs and the hint and got very lucky at the second place we tried. Thanks for placing this cache and therefore filling in our Xmas Eve so pleasantly.
Thank you ahomburg for replacing the cache. Sorry to hear about your fall shanelaine
I got a little bamboozled trying to make all the numbers compute last visit, but some trial and error, combined with the realisation that some answers must add up to less than 10 was eventually enlightening. T4TC!!!

It took me a few days and a trip to get xrays after slipping over at the park. My own fault.

Looks like this one has been muggled. Worked my way through the clues and worked my way to GZ. Found the likely hollow in a tree fork just above head height. Perfect spot for a cache but sadly empty...

Needing a non trad for the calendar this one was a good choice. I struggled to get the numbers to make reasonable sense. I had a hunch where the cache might be and thankfully I was correct.

I managed walk around and collect the data for this cache a long time ago.
Well, the sports oval was full of people and I didn’t feel it was appropriate to access the cache at that particular time.
So, I waited. For about 6 months this cache has been sitting on my screen as solved but not yet found.
We worked overtime tonight and under cover of darkness after work, the cache was found and signed.

Looks like I’ve been a little slow going to this multi which is not too far from home. In its 8th year it’s now a little neglected but it was my target today. Had a errand to do close by and despite 36 degree heat I had a blank grid to fill today. I enjoy watching cricket but a whole day of playing had never been my thing so I’m glad I enjoy the sport of geocaching. So while watching a few matches I wandered around the park collecting numbers and learning a new fact about the Olympics. Thinking I had all the numbers I did some calculations and my answer was 5 km away. And looks like others do the same and misinterpret one clue. Oops a bit of heat stroke. With some common sense I recounted something and realised where I went wrong - and my new numbers placed me within 30 m of cache. Likely spot approached soon found . Clean dry cache and smiley for me - Replaced with a little more camouflage. Cricket was still playing but time for a swim ! thanks ahomburg for the cache.
Apologies for this extremely late log.
This was found late at night with Obi-Cal, but on International Geocaching Day. With both of us being extremely vertically challenged this was a tad tricky, plus it was very late at night ... just prior to midnight, when we followed all the clues and finally located the "end result".
Geocache was in fantastic condition, plenty of log space left.
Many thanks to ahomburg for placing this geocache.
TNLN .... I've just learned that apparently I need to type this, but then I am a newbie .... as you know Mr. Fancy Hat.

I got to 11:30pm on International Geocaching Day, and I'm sitting on the couch after working that night. I had this vague memory nagging at me, and then it dawned on me!! I haven't found and logged anything today! (Expletive expletive)
Thankfully I'd done a lot of the hard yards in the previous 3-6 months, made many mistakes with the math along the way, but I was 99% sure now, where it was ... and this was very close to home.
Now admittedly we're both quite vertically challenged, so I suspected this would might be difficult to retrieve. Furthermore geo-wifey (10pmMeerkat) struggled with the terrain, but after scrambling around and taking a small step ladder ... I hope that's not cheating, we had success. WooHoo!

Well this one has been a marathon! I needed this one to get the last clue for the final in the series and drove down yesterday specifically to grab this one. It all started well but then I started getting confused with the ambiguous counting of certain objects and my coordinates ended up 5 km from the park! I checked the logs and others had the same problem so I was in good company! I had to get going and so figured out a likely gz in the comfort of my home. Today I returned to the park and wouldn't you know it there was 5 massive trucks carrying big concrete freeway supports parked along the road and the drivers were laying on the grass under the very tree I needed - they did not look like the were going anywhere quickly! Normally I would leave it for another day in this situation but I needed this cache and I needed the clue. So I did a few laps of the park and after about 30 minutes all of a sudden they got up and drove off. Finally I went and soon had the cache and opened it up and........ there was no clue inside - AAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!! Nevertheless I signed the log and was on my way. Thanks ahomburg for the adventure and the fun - I will have to contact you to get that clue!!!!!
A multi I decided to complete in part because driving on adjacent roads was not all that much fun in peak hour. The various counting tasks seemed straightforward at first, but then became somewhat less straightforward as I went down the list. Or at least the totals seemed unsatisfactory if one was mindful of the likely magnitude required for some of them. (Looks like I encountered problems have others have encountered in the recent past.)
In the end I decided I was sufficiently confident about my to just embark on a line search. And a cache was thus revealed. Or a sistema containing a desiccant satchel anyway. It was a BYO Replacement Logsheet type of situation, oddly enough, but I was able to do just that. Upon reverse-engineering coordinates, it's clear that only one variable was awry, but how one might derive the intended value remains a sweet, sweet mystery to me. Thanks once again ahomburg!

Checked on this after one of those silly emails from GCHQ. The cache was in fact in place where I left it!! I have replaced it with a slightly bigger container.
Cache is now a 200ml Sistema painted brown.

Fudged the numbers a bit to make things work. GZ pointed to a tree but nothing was there. Either we have the wrong gz or it's been muggled.
Took a few goes at trying to get the right co ords. The timber light poles challenged us. We weren't even close. We did see some rements of cut down poles, but they might have been electricity poles. Ended up going with an educated guess. But no cache at the gz.
Got to the tree I think but just couldn't find the cache. Perhaps I'm not tall enough to get to it ....
About 18 months ago I went looking for this cache while filling in some time while my wife was in for some day surgery. I didn't find the cache then because it had gone missing. Today I was back in the area filling in time for exactly the same reason...so I thought I would have another try for this cache.
Hoping that it hadn't been moved when it was replaced I went straight to the final coordinates that I had worked our last time. An initial look wasn't all that hopeful and then, for some reason, I just looked on the ground...and there was the cache, laying in the open just waiting to be either kicked around or stood on. Fortunately neither had happened so I signed the log and returned to a hiding place that aligned with the Hint.
Thanks ahomburg for the cache...that's 3 of the series now found...just 6 more to go.

Last time I was here it was a beautiful afternoon and I must've arrived after a game, there were a lot of people but they were all inside the clubhouse so I was able to gather all the information uninterrupted. But my coords led somewhere unlikely, and I didn't have time to work out where I went wrong.
Last night I was back in the area, and like a couple before me, I got one of the values wrong. Cache was a quick find after that, thanks

Today brought me to Melbourne for work, with of course a little scheduled play on the side. I finished up at my appointment just up the road and had some time until I saw my next patient so I returned to the scene of a previous failure. Last time I was here, I'd absolutely failed in the calculations and this time didn't seem to be working out for the best either. I struggled with the downpipes last time (managed to get that right this time), I think there's a debate about wooden light posts - does that one count?, and steel ones - but what about those?. Ugh, in the end, I sat down near the plaque.....and a dead rat it turns out....and worked out numbers. Then tweaked them until they landed in a more likely spot. I spotted the cache a little later but struggled due to my physical abilities. I tried to choose a moment when the workmen weren't looking to use my two sticks to assist me and succeeded. The return of the cache was a little more difficult but it was achieved. TFTC ahomburg.
#281 - 5.05pm
A beautiful sunny spring Friday afternoon brought many a fitness loving muggle, and a certain multi chasing geocacher, here today.
I enjoyed pottering about gathering the info from around the grounds. Admittedly, I was able to make straight forward instructions somehow ambiguous, then had to iron out the wrinkles in my calculations.
Grabbing the cache without drawing attention from the many muggles scattered in all directions took some patience. After signing in, I replaced the seal bag and left some swag - call it a 'sample'.
And then almost forgot to grab the clue, lol. One step closer to the final.
Thanks ahomburg. It was the perfect spring day to come here for 'a walk in the park'.
Find #26 (of 30) for my Multicache Monthly Challenge.

After voting this morning I thought that I would jump on the bike and grab a few caches so I hitched the bike to the back of the car an headed to Oakleigh.
I cycled around the oval a couple of times gathering the required information before settling down to calculate the final coordinates. There was a group of muggles playing bocce on one of the courts and just a couple sat down on a bench so it was really quiet today.
At the GZ it was a quick find and retrieval. TFTC.

An afternoon of caching with 88andy88.
Did the hard work here a couple of weeks ago with half of daznjaneo, but couldn't complete.
Returned today with 88andy88 to finish off and find the nicely hidden cache, and note the clue. TFTC

I worked out 2 possible coordinate areas at home, tried the first one and bang - it was right there. Had to get up the tree to have a good ferret around but very happy to find it without having to interpret a whole multi setup.
Co-ords Lead me right to tree but after searching high & low couldn't find cache not sure if missing or it just evaded me!
Can confirm that cache is in place, and that the clues lead clearly to it. It is a new container like the previous log says, so don't look for a systema. New logbook too! It also however lack any form of camouflage, and could be easily spotted if it isn't well hidden by each finder. As with many multi's, one or two of the clues could turn out to be one number or the other, however common sense narrows down the possibilities pretty easily. Thanks for bringing me here - The plaque has some interesting trivia
TFTC!

Yep, the container has been replaced. Might be worth changing the description of the cache in the description?
Thanks for keeping it running Homburg!
SL and visited a couple of trackables.

Would second Long John Silva's finding. Did some scratching, did some poking with conveniently located sticks and turned up nix...
I Went geocaching and all I got was....one cache and it wasn't this one . I think I had all the correct answers...possibly overthought some questions...arrived at a suitable looking location...but no cache to see.
Thanks anyway for a reason for a pleasant stroll in the sun...maybe I will get it another day.

On a mission today to complete this series as it (kind of in a round about way) follows the path I need to take from my house to the Dandenongs. A beautiful winter's day to do so and only one DNF. Thanks for the adventure!!
Find #4 Increased difficulty rating due to junior footy and senior bocce! But I was determined to give it a crack anyway. Initially messed up some numbers but some tweaking helped me make the find. Excellent!

We were on a mission to find a cache fairly close to home, as it was late in the afternoon and we had to mark off a P366 square today. We enjoyed a nice stroll around this park and watched a kid's game of AFL, Miss A still trying to figure out the rules and having a good laugh at the backwards throw-in. We were a bit slow on it today after a big night out the night before, so were very surprised when our coords took us straight to the cache. Was expecting this to be one of those long-haul multis with mistakes in our calculations and having to back-track, but that wasn't the case today. TFTC
Started on Fri pm, found Sat am !
A fun cache. Was considering an 'evil' approach for my 1st multi - this one convinced me ahomburg !
Take care if you do this one late @ night - 3 muggle tokers near the Clubhouse last pm. Felt a bit safer with the strong police presence on the highway though ! TFTC

Find #825 (Multi March #29)
Due to my self imposed Multi March challenge (31 multi caches in the 31 days of March) I was pleased to spot this (relatively) local multi that I hadn't tried. I came by here on an evening caching run but clearly stuffed up by counting in the dark as I had a GZ that didn't seem sensible. Had a sense for where it might be though and when I came back on Saturday daytime to check my count I had a quick look to test my hunch. Luckily enough I had the cache in hand from this neat hide. Dropped the Bombs Away TB and visited another TB. Thanks for the cache ahomburg. I'll try to target this series over the couple of months are a few are not too far away.

It's multi month for me and I still need two more and this one next one my list. A pleasant walk around counting stuff with only a few exercise and dog walking muggles around. I managed to get a good looking set of coordinates first try with the help of me "helper" app and it wasn't too long before I had my name in the log book and I was on my way for one more. I even remembered to note down the code.
Thanks ahomburg for the cache.

Another one done in this series. They are so spread out though that it will be a long time before I get to the final. Here today with Hera, and she made a great find while I was contemplating doing something unnecessary. Thanks for the series, ahomburg.
One more ticked off in this series. It was a gorgeous summer morning and Vanessa & I strolled around this park collecting the information together. Vanessa said she was glad I was a GZ with her otherwise she would have attempted some very unnecessary physical exertion! I spotted the hiding place and she was relieved . . .
Today we explored Clayton and Oakleigh and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I came earlier and couldn't find it but I came back later and found it straight away!
Great multi, it took a bit longer to find all the information in the dark without torches but we managed. Fun hide at GZ too in my opinion. Found with megwilson, TFTC!
Came down here at lunchtime today and worked out the coords but there were a few muggles near GZ so I thought I would come back later in the day to grab the cache, as I drove up to GZ there was a guy there with his car bonnet open, so after a 5 min wait I moved up got out and in no time had the cache in hand, seeing as there were some muggles walking towards me I went back in the car to sign the log and collect the next hint, after they had gone it was time to place it back in its hide.
This one took me several very early mornings to do before work. My maths & reading skills were a little oudated, luckily thanks to google earth I found out where I went wrong. It was a very cold crisp dark morning. TNSL
Collected all the required information and worked out a destination which just didn't seem right.
Had another look at my numbers and soon worked our where I had gone wrong.
Headed off to GZ and there were no muggles in the area, so a quick grab and sign. Only two logs in the book but there appears to be a sliver of the first page, which may have been ripped out.
Thanks for the walk in the park and the cache ahomburg.

Out with the geodog this morning doing some park caches and this a busy park. Walked around collecting the information and tried not to draw too much attention to myself when at the playground. Got the number of wooden poles wrong but soon worked it out when the coords didn't look too right. A quick re calculation and located the cache with only one other signature in the log. A pic of the clue page and I was on my way again. Tftc ahomburg

Had a great time with a friend and my wife, had some confusion with the numbers but sorted it out pretty quickly. Fun first time.
Used to play cricket here, but it has since been upgraded, so I was interested to check out the improved clubrooms. There were muggles in the playground so took a stab at some of the numbers, did the calcs and then laughed out loud! TFTC
Really enjoyable cache.
Very clever, I hope to hide a similar cache myself soon!
Relatively easy, but once I spotted the cache, I had to get a boost from the geo gf as we are both on the shorter side!
