EN : This morning, a boat is taking us to Anchorage to do the Abel Tasman Coast Track. Arriving on the beach, everyone chooses the path they want. We go to the one where boxes are present . Almost all logbooks need to be changed... Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Our Travel Bugs pass through this cache but do not come out of our backpack; they continue the adventure with us. Trip to New Zealand, decided very quickly , but that didn't stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 was, of course, at the top of that list! and there you have it, we visited it during our stay in Wellington. Yesss!! Our program should allow us to discover a large part of this country.FR : Ce matin, un bateau nous emmne Anchorage de faon faire le Abel Tasman Coast Track.Arrivs sur la plage, chacun choisit le sentier qu'il veut. This one was harder to get at than I anticipated! Found it in the end though, although it really needs a new log. Signed where I could. Lovely beach here! Tftc
Found with Dali87 within our famous trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
I am with Muggle on a three and half week trip to NZ. Nothing serious, just the well trodden track every NZ tourist does who is coming from the other side of the world and has not the chance to come here more often. North Island is done, Auckland Coromandel, Rotorua and Wellington touched. Now we arrived in Picton and transfered to Motueka. Idea was to do a day trip into Abel Tasman NP. Any place nearer the entrance to the NP was already occupied or to expensive for our budget so we stayed at this little village. Next we were off the well visited track. We were quite early on site fearing that the parking lot would overflow. But at 8:30 situation was still relaxed. What a beautiful hike! I enjoyed this tremendous views at the landscape very much. The hint was very useful since the hide for the box could not be better.Thx for hiding.
This took some finding. Firstly we had no idea what the hint was so we had to do a google, lucky there is signal here. Once we knew that is still took some searching. Great hide on our fave beach. Took tb. Have an FP
Great cache! Great views! No pencil to log unfortunately. Left a trackable
I thought many times "ahhh there it must be" but no unfortunately a "didn't find" here
Beautiful day for a visit to the Abel Tasman park. We hiked up till Coquille Bay and found all caches along the way.
Very nice beach here and we were alone most of the time. A bit of a search low and high but the hint helped us uncover this one. Nice, tftc & favo, thanks!

Found on glorious sunny day with Cuzzie Goforitman close to Easter Weekend. A great hide. TFTC.
We have walked Paat here loads of times, but never found the tide very helpful to get to GZ. Today we made an expedition out to tick this one off. After a lovely swim, and our lunch on the beach Dad was sent up to GZ to make the find and bring the container to a spot a bit kinder on bare feet for everyone to log.
We got a water taxi to Anchorage and walked back to Marahau. A fabulous day. We dropped down here for a well deserved break. A bit of a random hide. TFTC
Had some family doing the Abel Tasman so SJT_NZ and I dropped them off in Wainui on Monday and today we headed to Marahau to pick them up. One of the family stayed with us for a few days so we thought we'd wander in a little way and meet them on the trail. Grabbed this just before we bumped into them. Nice hidey hole and cache all in very good condition.
Found with Tregearp whilst walking out on the track to meet up with in-bound family finishing the track. Reasonably busy around the GZ but once we'd clambered over the rocks we were lost from sight and left alone. Found the cache in the second place we looked. Log is a bit damp from absorption but quite useable. Completed formalities and replaced as found. Thanks niteowlnz for brining us to this picturesque location.
Had a really good rummage and was super hopeful for this one, must not have had the right spot! We’ll come back and try again another time!
When we arrived at Coquille beach we found the tide was too high to get to the area where the cache is located. We spent several hours here on the beach, so by the time we were ready to leave the tide had gone down a bit and had another go to get to the cache. Lots of gorse here to contend with but managed to push my way through and found the cache in the second place I looked. All good here, TFTC.
From small promontory, initially scrambled straight up, with ground getting pretty steep; reassessed that decision & found flatter ground south of this & obvious feature.
Pretty safe from wekas.
Had camped here last night so this was a nice way to cap our stay!

Managed to push through the gorse but didn’t find it. Might need to move this cache, there are weka nesting up here. As soon as we spotted them we left.
It's school camp time and I am following, or leading the kids along half of the coastal track. I started here at Marahau on a Monday lunchtime, walked to Anchorage for the first night, Onetahuti for the second night, back to Anchorage for the third and the out to Marahua on Thursday morning and down to Motueka for a shower on the last night. All up, 78 km of walking on the track, popping down to most of the bays and sidetracks along the way, 11 hours moving and 8 hours 45 minutes stopped for eating, resting and cache searching. All good at this one, hint and description work well.
I liked this cache and the location. No problems rock hopping up here, only issue is the gorse starting to encroach on the ‘track’ to the cache. Quick find as expected. Took in the view, all good. TFTC niteowlnz.
Today RG1972 and I decided to walk from the track from the Marahau start to Anchorage, and then walk back. So a fair bit of walking, and it was a bit tough going simply because I hadn’t been doing much walking lately. But we enjoyed the views and the walk and I got a few caches on the way. Next time we will get a water taxi home .

Took 10plus minutes to get to climbing up the almost vertical bank.
In my opinion it is not a good place for a cache.
Thanks anyway

We made a hike today. We started in the late morning and there was not much time for us but we loved the stroll. The weather was fine and the track is nice and easy. Found a lot of caches, most of them without problems. Thanks a lot to all who hided caches here. It was a pleasure!

We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

Paddle chick and I went to check on our caches through the Able Tasman track we went as fast as Apple Tree Bay where pc had a swim while got my big toe wet . Paddle chick and I worked as a team in getting this cache. Tftc niteowlnz
Very first geo cache...retired british paratrooper takes toy soldier for keeps.... thank you
After some snorkeling and lunch, I had a quick look for the cache. I went there barefoot thinking it is just behind the rocks, then realised I have to climb up a bit.
Managed to do so without shoes but would probably recommend it's easier with footwear.
Once up there only two possible hiding spaces matching the hint, it was the second one.
Nice bay, enjoyed the day here, some clouds but still stunning.

Another beautiful beach as we come to the end of our Abel Tasman walk. Log was a little damp but otherwise in good condition
Did a short walk at to this beach. When we arrived, there was a huge group of school children on the beach and it was really noisy, but they eventually left while we were munching away on our lunch. Whilst we were still eating, a Weka took a swipe at my bag but luckily did not get away with anything. Just before leaving, we scrambled up the rocks and found the cache quite quickly. The logbook is very damp and could definitely use some maintenance. TFTC!
Found it after some scrambling. Nice hiding spot. The beatle friends greated me too.
On a road trip south, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

Sadly, this was as far as I had time to walk today. My first time down onto this particular beach in the ATNP. What a lovely afternoon for it. Late autumn, no crowds, just the odd groups of trampers heading back to Marahau after a day in the park.
As I stood signing the log, I paused to think how lucky I am to live in this part of the world where, on a late autumn Saturday afternoon, you can stand on a deserted beach, looking across a bay at snow-capped mountains in the distance.
Magic!

I took some more time for detours on the way back. Some climbing and the cache was soon in my hands.
Thank you for the cache!

Visiting New Zealand for three weeks. After hanging around Auckland for a few days it was time to head south! After an early morning flight I looked for a few caches in Nelson and Richmond, then hitchhiked to Abel Tasman National Park for a short walk in the southern part, spent the night camping in Torrent Bay, then back to Marahau and a ride to Kaikoura.

Tide was a bit too high for us to keep exploring...I'll be back again another day
I was out on a 4 day walk of the Abel Tasman Track, from Marahau to Wainui. Day 1 was from Marahau to Anchorage and I took a look for this cache along the way. I dropped my pack and made my way down to the bay and up to GZ, where the cache was quickly found. Great outlook from here - favourite point added! TFTC!
Tenth find of the day with NZDi. It is Easter weekend and we have decided to take a break. Yesterday we travelled to Motueka in preparation for a day trip on the Abel Tasman track. Today we get picked up from Marahau by shuttle and taken to Kaiteriteri, from there it is on a water taxi to Anchorage and we then make our way back to Marahau, picking up caches along the way. And finally on Sunday we will head back home dropping in at the Mapua Easter Fair on the way.
Yesterday wasn't supposed to be a big caching day, but some bright spark at GCHQ dreamt up the Planetary Pursuit which put paid to that. Fortunately, I have almost 100 solved but unfound puzzles, multis and challenges in the greater Nelson area, so it was time to put them to work. All in all we ended up with 265 Planetary Pursuit Points. None of today's caches were any of the solved puzzles so were only worth 5 points each in most respects, apart from the odd one with more than 10 FPs, so todays tally was not as good.
After getting dropped off at Anchorage Beach this was our eigth cache on the Abel Tasman proper. We had made a few DNFs on the track before and after here as we had set a self imposed time limit on our finds where minutes looking = Planetary Pursuit points awarded for the cache. As the DNFs were only traditionals they only merited 5 minutes of searching and once that expired, we moved on. We didn't log them as DNFs as we figured they were probably still there, so more like DNLHEs (Did Not Look Hard Enough).
Obviously this one took less than 5 minutes. By now we were tiring of these side trips. Not so much the walk down and along the beach, but definitely the climb back up to the main track. However the prize always makes up for it, as long as you find it, and we did.

Yet another sidetrack diversion. No wonder when I caught up with the family they'd wondered where I'd wandered off to! Nice trot down to the beach then a quick climb up to GZ. There was a guy with a metal detector on the beach off a nearby yacht.
Cache all good and replaced as found

The big day has arrived, time to walk on the track for a ways at least, then water-taxi back from Anchorage. Gave ourselves plenty of walking time, despite a fairly late departure which allowed the day to warm up a little for us. We did all the side track walks too and all up walked around 18kms I reckon. Got to Anchorage at around 2.30pm after leaving the Marahau kiosk around 0900, not bad times with lunch down on Observation Beach (lots of up and down to get there)
This weekend is a four day weekend for us, Thursday and Friday on leave as we're going away for a couple of nights to Marahau for mrs capperz's birthday, walk the first part of the Abel Tasman walkway and visit out fellow quiz-team cohorts in their new house. The weather all week had been interesting and yesterday brought on torrential rain and storms for many regions, which continued through the night. The forecast was for clearing conditions and a great day for Friday, which fitted in with our walking plans. On Saturday we visited the split apple rock, marble quarry and came back via Riwaka resurgence, Ruby Bay and 'some' caches - of course.

For some reason I thought this might be accessible from the top. Fortunately, my wife debdunord and I took the trail to the beach to check it out. Hmmm, this cache is not that far away. I went down the beach and came close to the cache. I asked someone checking traps what the plant was in the hint. He left, and I scrambled to find the cache. A great spot. Lots of people on the beach. TFTC.
Took the side track from the main track down to the bay. About time to turn back anyway. Nice beach, Ms KR went swimming while I did the finding and signing. Put a new piece of paper in the bag so there is something to sign. Cheers.
Exploring around Motueka, Riwaka and Marahau today. There are a few caches around here!!
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

I have been to this cache before I had a geocaching account when I was introduced to the game. the logbook looked in worse condition then I remember it but I found the appropriate spot to sign. Find #243
Log too wet to sign and pencil has rotted away. Wonderful beach to set a cache.

TFTC. Such a beautiful spring day so a plan was hatched to walk along the Able Tasman Track to a beautiful beach of golden sand and blue sea.
This cache was at our target destination beach where I had my first swim of the season.

Made our way up some slippery rocks to the cache site and duly found the cache. Dropped off a TB to carry on it's travels. Attempted to sign log but it started disintegrating on me and only half of what I wrote is readable. Started down the slippery rocks and slipped. Just managed to stop before sliding over edge. Carefully, this time, made my way the rest of the way down and headed off to my next cache.
Down from Auckland for the weekend and our first trip into Abel Tasman, what a beautiful area, did a short afternoon walk on the coastal track and found this cache. Looks like someone has been breaking the fire ban as there has been a fire here but cache is safe, thanks for placing
