With the fencing it seemed too dangerous for the boys. Well try again in the future.
GZ was fenced off so made it hard to retrieve but after some dedication we got it! TFTC
You would have thought that fueling up on iced coffee would have helped Snips and Co and Tiz13 search for this cache. Nope, hmm maybe we should have made it a double or maybe we both need to get our eyes tested. We brought out Snips Tott the twisted sister to assist in our search and the cache should have been found fairly quickly. Hmm maybe the cache had a cloak of invisibility on..just as we were about to give up Snips finally saw it ..IDK how we missed it but we did....Cache was soon in hand and signed and just in a nick of time as we had not only a train pass over head but also a muggle on a bike ride by.
Over the years I've meandered past the moorings, knowing full well there is a cache there.I've glanced up, I've tiptoed along the wall but I have never seen a cache. One day I even took a friend with me, but we couldn't spot it.Today Tiz13 and I made this one a target. Things were in our favour: It was low tide and I had a TOTT in the car. The TOTT can be used at low tide on the mud. YAY. You would think we would have it in the bag by now but no. We looked, we felt, we took photos and videos. And still nothing. We paffed and even that didn't help. Up and down the TOTT in different positions we went but to no avail. Time to call it quits...again. Moving slowly back to the car I turned around to take one more look, OMG, I can see it, clear as day has someone just put it there??? How could we miss that!YAY, back up went the TOTT and the yellow smiley was ours. Back in the car, I took another look at the photos I had taken, and yep, there it was all along. No mischief at play here. Thanks, Earthbound Chief, a fav point for a simple but elusive cache.
14/01/2024 3:17:00 PMI was over this side of Victoria on a non-caching mission and parked nearby before setting off in search of lunch, so couldn't resist trying my luck here. Thanks Earthbound ChiefFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Found!! Took a while but after contemplating going up we committed, and it was definitely worth it! Suits a taller person or two people for a boost.TFTC
Had a look for this one a few years ago with no luck, came back today for revenge! Finding a stick or something could definitely help! TFTC!
That was so much fun! I did get water drops on my head by the overhead drain pipe but it was worth it. Thank you Earthbound Chief for placing and maintaining Past the Moorings for us to find today.
Located at 5:32pm. #1377.Full log to follow. ! Baruch Hashem! TFTC! Much obliged for the placement Earthbound Chief!Kindest Regards, - Alephroom.
We had decided that it was time to take the geo-pooch out and grab a few caches on the way. This looked like a nice loop that would fulfill all requirements so we drove over and parked up nearby.
I expected this to be a challenge especially as there was a fisherman on the other side of the bridge however as I approached the GZ he caught a rather large bream so mrs frilk took the pooch over and I made a surprisingly quick find. TFTC.

Yeah a very good hide. Team work and a very long stick. Thanks heaps for this one. Container was is great shape.
A very very good hide it took team work, climbing & a stick to get this one & also mugglers & lots of trains going past . Thanks Earthbound chief for this one ️️
This one eluded us due to athletics required
Ah well 1 for the day not a bad morning

Look and looked , didn’t find as we were not athletes to reach up high . Rex 46 Dot 558
Searched about for a while here, then had to pause while an entire school load of kids went by. Resumed the hunt with still no luck. Know what to look for coz we resorted to a PAF. Maybe muggled? We will return and give it another shot.
Quick find today. Arrived a GZ and new exactly what to do. Sure enough the cache was there. Cool little spot. TFTC
Jeepers after looking around for about 30 minutes, and with a bit of physical exercise we were able to log.
I sussed where it is, had this confirmed by a recent finder, but not got the skeletal ability to get to it.
The attributes may include a P&G, but failed to mention a Chin-up maybe required:) The cyclist who whizzed by as Steve was suspended from the rafters must have thought it was an odd place to workout.
It worked a treat as he spotted the sneaky blighter straight away. Bought it down to my level for the signing duties and apart from a muggle rat dashing into the bushes, the coast was clear for the replacement.
Cheers Earthbound Chief for a fun cache and your recent maintenance run.

On a day out we had to have the car in for a service so took the opportunity to look for this cache while we waited. A tricky little hidden but the prize was soon in hand, we just had to dodge the bike riders. Thanks for placing this cache
This was another cache we have had a number of attempts at finding this cache and discussed this with Earthbound Chief at his birthday event. Following updated information about the status of the cache we are back again with our grandson as accompany. This time the container was found within minutes of arrival. Thanks to Earthbound Chief for replacing the container and the hunt to find the cache.
Visited the cache today, with a replacement if needed, but it is still there, in place waiting to be found.
With the recent replacement we were hopeful, but alas this has eluded us again. Will watch and wait. Thanks anyway.
After a string of DNFs , we visited and replaced the cache with a temporary container. Cache is all good to go
Got to the right rough location but struggled to find it. Trains running overhead was a surprise!
We certainly familiarised ourselves with this area, having spent at least an hour on the search. Steve manly did the hard yards, while I watched some pretty good acrobatic moves he performed to find this little blighter.
It’s certainly a tough one Earthbound Chief and we’ll be back for another go when next in the area.

Out enjoying a walk along the foreshore and area this afternoon, collecting some caches as I go.
Glad there was not too many muggles about as I scrambled up, needed some time to find this one!

Was slightly worried about my chances of finding this cache today, but given I was in the area for world social work drinks I decided to give it a shot. Boy am I glad I've found a cache like this before!
It blends in perfectly and is great camo for the location. Easy enough to spot if you know what to look for though!
Thankfully I managed to find a time before school finished for the day and there weren't many muggles around.
Thanks for the cache!

Wow. I tried this one years ago and was baffled. Almost didn’t stick with the searching this time around either, but glad I had the courage to try out a few possibilities. Favourite point.
Anticipated having to do weird gymnastics to get there then what I had ignored was spotted by crusty - log eventually extracted with a wee TOTT. In Melbs so pretty nice to be here exploring so far from home base in the mountains. Crusty came up with a plan so here I am with Crustyvarmint and Skylizard spending a few hours in the fresh air doing fun stuff like geocaching! TFTC, placing them And a fave for the FUN!
Enjoying a walk along the creek this morning, with Ronice88 and Skylizard, we found the tricky little fellow.
Although the log sheet could do with replacement, we managed to leave our marks.
Thanks Earthbound Chief. We are enjoying your caches.

Out caching today with Crustyvarmint and Ronice88 .. I enjoy caching in the area, so many caches of to find… it was great to have such good company today .. this was a clever placement and although the Log was difficult to extract we were able to add our marks.. signed as SL CV & R8 thanks Earthbound Chief for placing the cache.
If I had not seen this type of cache before, I would have had no idea. This is brilliant camo. I am not known for my balance and am short but managed to retrieve the cache. The log was impossible to extract so I took a photo as proof of find.
As I reached for this I was really hoping I was on the right track...and I was! Awesome camo, log is wet needs replacing but still very cool
I've never come across a cache as creative as this one. Lots of prying eyes around on the nearby paths so needed to be sneaky. Thanks for the hide.
TFTC. Loved the camo. My first look was in the right location and I stared straight at the cache. Lovely Lizzy had a turn next and within a few seconds had the cache in hand. Couldn’t extract the log book so just admired and replaced the cache.
On what promised to be a nice day, went caching with nyochi. Had this one quick to hand as a train thundered past. Log was very wet and needs replacing, signing it was very tricky.
Found between school kids coming out of school on there way to freedom for two weeks
Continuing today's Mordialloc adventures, we took a short drive up the other end of the carpark and were pleasantly surprised to see only a lone fisherman a bit further up the trail providing the sole muggle coverage.
The D/T rating intrigued me, not only as it was sure to test our skills, but, as I later found out, it actually ended up filling in a grid hole I initially planned to attain with a solved but unfound puzzle further down the coast and somehow forgot about entirely when trying this one out!
The terrain was a bit of fun to navigate, but things were really damp after the recent rain and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to withstand the puddles of water around the search area and persistent dripping from above right where I was standing!
Luckily the container was felt and retrieved within only a few seconds as it happened to be in the first place we tried!
The conditions here have unfortunately meant that the logbook is very damp and just about unusable, it'd benefit from a replacement.
Thanks to Earthbound Chief for placing this here!

Cute little cache. Found with goldfish but couldn’t get the log out to sign
After all the wet weather and lockdown, I had to take the camper to Braeside to get some work done on it. Took the deadly treadly as well to fill in the time, and did a few caches around Mordialloc.
Nice hide.
Unfortunately the log was a bit damp so my tweezers could not remove it without it possibly falling apart. So I took a couple of photos for proof.
Thanks, Robmc.

This was the last one in the area that I hadn't ventured out to till today. What a beautiful day. Sunny and warm, perfect weather for a cache or two or three.......
Got to GZ and right there was a muggle fisherman. Had a nice chat and told him about the geocaching world cause otherwise it would have looked really weird. After a bit of head scratching I finally spotted the cache. Nice hide chiefs. Thanks for the adventure EBC.

Found it , second time here, it was right where I thought it would be, it must have been missing last time. Great spot. Tftc
Only gentle nudging was enough for Spiffy- to agree to meet me for some caching by scooter and another opportunity to remind me that his has cruise control and mine didn't.
Checked many spots then finally...
Thanks to Earthbound Chief for the placement and fun.

Disabled due to Covid Stay at Home restrictions. Will re-enable when restrictions ease.
This has been a frustrating one for us. We are so sure we’re in the right place. Have gone “under and up”. Sent a small person “up” and still nothing. Shame.
Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
I was hoping to able to avoid this step. Although exercise is ok, beaches, playgrounds, parks etc are being closed, and we are being asked to stay home.
The possibility to transmit the virus by surface contact exists, and with so little being known how long viral RNA stays viable on surfaces why take a risk?
At the end of the day, geocaching is a game, it is non essential and we are dealing with a serious Public Health emergency.
As we keep seeing people continuing to search for our caches I feel the only responsible thing to do is disable all our caches to discourage this until the crisis passes.
Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I know where it is, judging by previous logs and the hint. Wasn't able to see a container though.
Found the cache soon enough but retrieving the log was a different story. We got there in the end and signed away! Thanks for the hide!
Roaming Howie was too fast to get this one before I even had a look at the attributes! Thanks for the spot!
Had our eye on this one for a while, not what we expected at all but we tucked it back away hahah, Earthbound chief is a ledge!
This cache was checked and replaced just before Christmas after the 2 DNF’s last year. The new DNF and a question triggered a health check. For a second I had that sinking feeling I thought it was gone again but ah my fingers touched something. Moved it slightly to be a bit more accessible but cache is in play
No find today. we thought we knew exactly where it should be but nothing there except... I’ll message you a photo.
Out for another day of caching and this ended up being the first after not having any luck at the previous one. We parked right next to GZ and as we wandered toward the most logical place I spotted the cache from a distance but then we had to work out how to get it! I’m taller but not very mobile so gnome5580 bravely climbed up and with a TOTT was able to drag it close enough then handed it down to me to sign while she stayed up there to put it back again, not bad for someone that’s scared of heights! Not that it was especially high but definitely high enough lol and the best part is we really lucked out and managed all of this in between the flow of muggles enjoying the Sunday afternoon as well! TFTC!
Wow not only am I vertically challenged but I'm not good with heights. Yes I know it's not that high but it tested my nerves. I some how managed to not get muggled as well being a weekend there were lots out.

Great location for a drive by.
Doing this one very quickly on an afternoon run!
Thanks for the cache

Thanks for the cache
Found with Winniethebear. High muggle area and there was a homeless man sleeping near by. Had to use a TOTT to retrieve this cache. Dont think it would have been retrieved without this. TFTC
Need longer arms for some of these haha. Lucky I have a much taller cacheing partner
An icy cold Melbourne day but didn’t stop me from heading out for a brief stroll. On approach there was only the one spot it could be. A nice easy find.. thanks..!!
Found it. Sorry chief I don't carry spare lids for these containers but it is in a dry and logical spot. Thanks for the cache
It was an easy find. However, the cache was just left there in the open with its contents strewn about. The container is not in great condition and missing it’s lid.
No logbook present so we added a new piece of card to act as a logbook for now.
We re-hid it a little better than how we found it. Should still be an easy find. We weren’t sure where the original hiding spot was.
Message sent to Earthbound Chief to inform them of the cache needing attention.

The cache was found unhidden with its contents strewn about. Cache is in poor condition with missing lid. As we didn’t know it’s original hiding spot, the cache has been placed where we found it but off to the side so it’s not obvious and out in the open as found. Logbook added as it was missing one.
