As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Had a look in the most likely spots. Spent about 5 minutes checking behind lots of rocks. Nothing found. Guess it could be there still but I had lots of more appealing places to go to so moved on.
Mr NewlynFam had a job interview nearby today, so Mrs NewlynFam decided to accompany him...... not so she could sit in during the interview or anything.... but so she could go caching nearby, of course!
This was the final one I attempted today, before Mr Newlynfam was ready to go, and I only had a few minutes at GZ. Upon arriving, I was pretty sure I knew where to look, as I have found hides like this before. There were a few people around, though, so I had to time my attempts. I wasn't stealthy enough, though, as I was approached by a nearby shop owner (worker?) who informed me that I was looking in the right place, and told me what sort of container I was looking for. Whoops, lol.
Unfortunately, I then had to rush off, so couldn't look as thoroughly as I would have liked. Will have to return!

Sad while we were in this area my daughter and I with the dog in tow, we had hoped to have added this to list of caches found, but alas no luck...
We intend on coming back to knock this off my DNF list... We met up with a lovely muggle from the nearby pet shop, came out to talk "Are you trying to find that box thing?" quite surprised she asked us that she also says a few people come by looking for it she must be very alert or we suck at stealth, (probably the second) ha ha, she also gave our dog a piece of dried liver for which Gunner rolled on, played with until eventually she gulped it down...
So all in all this little township has left a mark in our books to remember it by as a positive and generous place...
Thanks

Have been out and couldnt' find the cache, but a lot of things have been moved so it is possible that it is still there. In the mean time I have put another pepper-box out. Don't forget to rehide it well as there a lot of mugglers possible around.
Third visit here, and this time found within minutes. Can't believe we missed it those other times! Guess it was the pressure of showing some new cachers the area this time lol. Left a new log paper and some of those collectable countdown cards for kids.
TFTC nice cache to find

Crossing a few DNF's off the list today, and this is another one. Another cacher told me where it was, so I went hunting with Godfreyh and Kittycat432. Still no luck, but after a couple of text BINGO. .... I mean it couldn't of been easier could it........ hello doandhopers open your eyes!! lol. Nice hide. TFTC
A Dot Day... The mission for today: find mid-level D Rated caches. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are heading to South Auckland. Everything in between is fair game... Our main targets are Marmis' Challenge Caches (the ones we've qualified for). However, as we were driving through the countryside, we discovered others where we also met the target...
It's always helpful when one's caching buddy has done this cache recently. A 'guided' hint and the cache was quickly in hand. The neighbours weren't too busy, so we had ground zone to ourselves. TFTC.

2.35pm - This is the third visit here to try and find, only took a few minutes to find the hidey hole, cache all well. SLTFTC
This is our second visit here with the same result. We let the kids play and each of us had a turn trying to make the find. I gave up after coming face to face with a mouse!! Eww!!!!! I was thinking that perhaps a height hint would help...?
Still can't find it. Had a couple of handy hints from another geocacher as to where it was, or should I say is, just cant put my hands on it.yet. will keep trying
We were heading to Auckland today for some shopping and undertook some major detours to pick 5 caches to help us complete the 37 degrees challenge, of which this was one. A methodical approach to the search lead to the find. Thanks for placing it.
At the end of a long day caching we wanted just one more...
Good coords got us to GZ and there was so much SPOR.
Finding the right one took awhile.
SL and returned as found.

Was nice and dark on the way home and decided to stop by here. Parked around by the statue around the back. Walked around and was asked by a couple of muggles if I was alright. Yup. On my way. Got to GZ and looked around a little, maybe behind over there... Nope, lets try here first. Very short while later, trying to squeeze it though the gap. Signed log and returned.
Yippee! Found it but sadly couldn't sign as our pen didn't work. Enclosed was a logbook, triceratops and some small coins. Bedankt!

Lots of spots to search on a busy morning but got there in the end. Replenished the stash as nothing in there
This cache comes with an adjacent car park, toilets and a play area for the children. All caches should be like this!
+ a marble, - nothing.

found as part of team stik-a-crane now logging under my own name ... I was there to help make the find but wanting a map and history of my own unique kind.
Second visit due to mugglers, and this time we were successful.
The junior cacher needed a toilet stop, so worked well.... and those toilets... they played music when the door was locked, press button to release the paper, auto flushing when you washed your hands, then drying when washed all in the same spot in the wall.... really techo (or maybe we don't use public toilets much)

Tried this cache yesterday but muggle watching very closely so decided to just let the kids play instead. Back in the vicinity today so tried again and this time was successful. TFTC.
Lovely spot but no luck finding the cache today - TFTH!

This is Day 5 of our trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud for the 2013 NZ MEGA event in Auckland. I joined Gunnie69 and Kaisho53 for a fun packed 5 days of geocaching adventures. The last day started in the north near the mega site and make our way back to the airport, and then a plane home.

The second cache in a row where, due to the public holiday, we managed to park almost on top of the cache... We were extremely grateful for the convenience as we worked through the list, I can tell you...
Out of the car and into the hunt with Ghostgums and Kaisho53, locating the exact spot took a bit of work but we had the cache in hand in a minute or so of arrival. Ghostgums was the victor again and with our names in the log, it was replaced and we shot through.
Cheers MarMis.

Found on day 3 of my visit to the North Island as a part of the upcoming NZ Mega event weekend, and this was a relatively quick find...although as I was in the process of retrieving the cache, a woman came out of the nearby building and spotted me just sitting there. A bit of an awkward spot to explain why you are there.

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 2. After a bit to eat I was feeling good again tried foe this one. Kids in the park were just out of view and a bit of careful peering meant I did not have to move too many stones to get to this one. Thanks.

Approached the GZ but nearly decided not to attempt it, as there was a function going on at the club rooms with heaps of people outside...but I decided I could give it a go. Took a guess as to where it would be, and found it quickly.
Well...I think I have now seen it all...a new low in SWAG items....a tampon! I thought about taking it just in case I get a bloody nose, but decided to leave it for someone else :-p

We found this one after helping out at the nieces' calf club day at the school nearby. A quick find, TFTC!
Shortened the working week by half a day, pretty much so I could get a few hours to grab some caches on the way up to Auckland.
A few people at GZ so had to wait for them to pass before I could go for the find. Surprisingly a nice quick find. Last time I looked for a cache in a similar location it took me ages to find.
