Time to go.

11-Aug-20
Only logging it as DNF because I ran out of time to get to GZ

11-Aug-20
I never knew GZ was where that was! Super cool multi and a great hide at the end; I was ready to give up but took one last look! TFTC!

18-Jul-20
The last time Taybeedragon and I did two multis at once we made a complete hash of it and had to do them all over again. Admittidly they had multiple waypoints. This time doing Exploring the Park and Rider's cache at the same time was a little more straightforward. Really interesting start point for this cache, and for introducing me to it it would have got a favourite if the final was bigger. (I like family friendly caches - no room for treasure usually means no favourite. Not always, though).
We discovered a new road on the way to the final so after finding the cache, we drove down it to plot it and I'll add it to the maps on Monday.
Why is it that some easy caches take forever to find, and this cache, which should take forever, was found in under 30 seconds?

At last my railway series is finished! Yay! So I am back in Nelson for the third weekend in a row to actually place the final Nelson rail cache, completing the story of the line. As (nearly) always, I have Taybeedragon in tow. Now that the Nelson railway cache is in place we are just randomly driving around mopping up stray caches. Lots of multis this time.

.Its getting late in the day now. So this is our last stop after stopping of at Vivaldi Art to capture the data. OK I get Riders now. Quick snag by The Seagnoid here. Cheers.
Now time to head home. Another great day exploring Nelson.

Its a flying visit to Nelson today instead of flying out to USA. So another early start picking up The Seagnoid at 6am and heading over the hill to amble about Nelson on a fine cool day. Another great caching day and exploration over the hill.

30-Dec-19
I had gathered the required information on a previous visit. Made my way to the final location today and made a reasonably quick find.

15-Oct-19
When started this cache the tree with the bikes had snapped and the bikes were stacked against the house. I seemed to be a bit out with the co-ords (or my calc) so my first attempts to find didnt turn anything up. Driving past again today see the bikes are back up another tree and reminded me to have another look at the final spot. Fairly quiet there and work over road seems to have finished for now. Read previous logs and the last one gave me a clue. Nicely done. TFTC

27-Aug-19
I solved some months ago but thought to leave it for another day.
Came today and investigated the lower hint item for a while, nothing here. Walked further along, nothing either. So back to where I first looked, noticed the one above and saw a little something.
Tiny little cache, very nice, and I also enjoyed solving the puzzle!
Signed as K - there was absolutely no space for more Smile

13-Jul-19
Rocked up to GZ and checked out this interesting place. First clue had me breaking out in a cold sweat - there don’t seem to be any bikes on a tree. But I could spot an ex-tree, and a certain number of rusty bikes leaning against the house. That will do, and proved correct. No issues with the other numbers.
Got to The final and poked out the cache, wow, that log is not coming out. Rummaged through the bag -nothing here, just Swiss Army knife.... yes, that has tweezers! All good after that. There is a development happening across the road that had plenty of drive-by interest. 4 cars there checking it out at one stage. Not focusing on me though... TFTC Biggles.

Not much on today, so with my eye on the weather forecast (favourable til nightfall) and a new souvenir challenge released, I decided to front foot it and head over the hill to boost some numbers.
Quite a few solved mysteries in the bank - today I was able to tick off some of those.
But basically the day was dictated by the challenge, and I roamed around with no real plan - just urban park and grabs and short walks, of which I still have a lot to find.
20 for the day, good fun. Left for home when it started to become a chore. A few DNFs as normal, but great to be over the hill again. Thanks all COs.

25-Jan-19
Another day, another cache. This one has been on the to-do list for ages as I have been past this property thousands of times. Today we went out to grab the details and then move on to the final. Took a short while to find one of the numbers, but then we quickly sorted the final co-ords and moved on to collect the cache. The obvious was spotted upon arrival and then it was just a matter of retrieval, luckily I HAD read the hints before leaving home. Log signed AG. tftc

29-Dec-18
Really fun find with the kids. They loved the cache container. TFTC

28-Dec-18
Great cache, thanks!

25-Dec-18
A christmas day walk to burn off at least some of the calories. Thanks for the cache.

23-Sep-18
Full log to follow once I get home from holiday

15-Apr-18
Like some others I had some difficulty with E but Tregearp nailed it in 5 seconds. Duh - how'd you miss that? A quick find at the final. All in good order, signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache BigglesNZ.

15-Apr-18
A nice Sunday morning wander with SJT_NZ, he'd scoped out the answers yesterday but got stumped on one question and asked for an extra set of eyes. I quickly solved the other answers to catch up and despite some local gardening muggles right where the elusive question was managed to retrieve the missing information. The final GZ was very appropriate and thanks to previous logs came prepared so a quick retrieve squared, logged and returned. TFTC

18-Jul-17
Took us a long time we should of read the name of it haha but it's a good one

19-Apr-17
Quick find while out with the grandchildren when looking after them during the school holidays. Glad I had them with me as eldest grandson looked in the correct place for the "e" number. The camouflage cover for the cache was missing. Couldn't find it on the ground. Thanks for the cache

02-Feb-17
Found in the rain with my caching buddy oneimmensegun. Friendly cat found on the way.

01-Feb-17
Found with FindingLilja. Super tiny, didn't have tweezers with us to sign the log.

18-Jan-17
Now that was a very sneaky hide, well done.
Thanks for the cache.

27-Dec-16
Enjoyed the bikes

25-Dec-16
We had finished our familu Christmas lunch and felt that we needed a wee walk and a bit of fresh air. This was our pick to do today. Everything was quiet around GZ today so it made for an easy find tftc and Merry Christmas

29-Nov-16
Preparing for the 3rd Annual Garin College Geocaching Grad Challenge so scoping out some of the local undiscovered treasures. Provided nice circuitous route to collect some more notches for the belt. TFTC! Smile

05-Nov-16
With the popping and cracking of fireworks it seemed only right that I joined in and opened a box of crackers, or two, whilst caching around my local and not so local area. A bonus trip over the hill to Nelson was planned, but with the added bonus of some shopping, so no great amount of numbers but a few 'here and there' to whet the appetite. An extra treat was a mighty 5 Multi caches, a real boost to a (recently) neglected cache type was rectified a little bit. I had to be back in Blenheim for around 6 pm to have tea then head over to the nearby G I F F 2016 event.
After doing my D I Y shop duty I dropped off mrs capperz and hit the trail alone to grab a few more in the time available. With only 2 Multis in the Richmond area (that aren't night caches)this and another were the target to clear my map (for now). Gathered the numbers at the interesting start point and settled on a number for e (you can count the fingers on one hand how many guesses I tried)
At G Z , along a new road for my travels and the cache was soon wheedled out. Log book was too far jammed in to remove so replaced as found.
T F T C BigglesNZ, hope your trip's going well

03-Sep-16
Enjoyed this cache from the very interesting property to start all the way to the clever hide to finish
Thanks very much!

Nice one! TFTC

18-May-15
Solved a long time ago but never got around to going to the final. Had a few minutes spare so thought I'd give it a go. Took a few minutes before noticing something worthy of closer inspection. Very well hidden. TFTC

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 706

TFTC!! Smile

#7965. It seemed like a good day to polish off some caches Troodles had already found while streaking. There are road works near GZ, but the cache is just outside the cordoned off area. I managed to extract the cache from its hiding place, and then extract the log; both took a bit of time. TFTC.

06-Aug-14
Had collected the info some time ago and had even visited the final but a guy was messing about with his trailer right near GZ so didn't even stop.

Today, no-one was around, just a few parked cars, and with the good co-ords, was able to spot the cache immediately. Extracting both cache and log book took a little more time and had to use all the tools in my arsenal to finally get my name in the log book. Wondering now if I should have just tried to take the lid off and left cache in situ Red Face.

Hadn't spotted the reason for the cache being in this location on my previous drive by, but all was clear today. Really enjoyed the quirkiness of the WP, and the good hide. Well worth a cache and a fav point. Day #99 of my streak, TFTC.

03-Jun-14
Thanks @BigglesNZ and @FlyingPhoenix for taking a look at the cache. I probably could have fixed it myself but didn't want to bugger it up trying. Returned to log my find of 25/05.

31-May-14
Visited cache today and saw the problem. Thought I would need to leave a replacement container but Flying Phoenix managed to unscrew the container and put it back together properly.

31-May-14
I helped my Dad (Biggles) fix this cache today so that counts as a find I guess.

26-May-14
Found cache today in its correct location, but the screw thread is damaged meaning the cache cannot be undone.

25-May-14
Found the cache in its location, phew, to continue my recent lunchtime run. A good, fun hide.

Could not sign as cache screw thread was threaded.

15-Mar-14
Not our first attempt....and we obviously still had one answer wrong....but we suspected the final.
This was recently confirmed by a comment from the C.O.
Back today, coast all clear this time, hide quickly spotted, and a short time later, log signed.
Nice to knock a DNF off.
Thanks Biggles.

01-Jan-14
Very pleased with myself to have cracked another Biggles case. Thanks for all the work you put into that one. http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_cool.gif

Saw I am not the only one to have a problem with E. Will keep trying.

25-Aug-13
a return with the team...we still are baffled with "E" , tried a few options but we must have something wrong...ended with descision we do not have the intelligence for this. thanks for showing WP1.

I have probably chosen the coldest night of the winter so far to complete my 5 night time caches for my MGSC. With snow on the western ranges for the first time this year Nelson is looking great ... during the day time anyway! Solved this Multi some time ago and have been waiting to finish as a night time challenge expecting this area to be fairly quiet on a cold winters night and it certainly was that ... just as well! With my trusty little torch I looked all around, under, over behind and then finally something caught my eye. That must be it but how do I get that out? Pushing didn't work. Pulling with tweezers didn't work, it just wouldn't budge. Finally decided on a desperate measure and soon had it in hand. Next problem back in the warmth of my car was trying to extract the log which was tight in it's container. Tweezers again let me down but another handy little tool came into play and the sign off made at 7:25 pm. Now getting the cache back in position was the 3rd challenge but got it in the end and just before a car came up the road. Wahoo, that's my 5th night time find and the challenge complete Big Grin, but perhaps time for one more Smile. TFTC

21-Mar-13
Enjoyed this little multi, a nice stroll to final TFTC

19-Mar-13
Great hide!! Final extraction was bit of a mission but succeeded with some intuition. TFTC!!

18-Feb-13
Never been more frustrated by a cache! The gps kept telling us private property, so we continued to look like certified nut jobs 2 days straight. Eventually a brainwave led us to GZ. Tftc! Cute concept.

18-Feb-13
Hazarokia and I certainly had a few issues with our gps telling us private property!!! A sudden AHA brainwave and what do you know cache was in hand!! We made it harder for ourselves than we needed too! TFTC

30-Dec-12
Good fun hide first multicache

28-Nov-12
After experiencing a miracle nearby, thought I would check this one out while here.
really enjoyed first waypoint, thanks Biggles for pointing it out.
Scratched my head a bit on one question, but had 2 feasible options.
Never saw WP2 , so I must have another error somewhere.
Never mind.

21-Nov-12
A place in suburbia just a little bit different. You'd never know just traveling past. We did a bit of head scratching figuring out E and decided to sleep on it. It all came together in the end and off we went to test our suspicions. A most enjoyable cache and sneaky hide. A fav. TFTC

21-Nov-12
The info for this cache was gathered previously except for E which posed a bit of a problem. However, a small dose of logic coupled with google maps showed us where we should go so tonight we finally made the effort. A clever cache hide which was found after a short search. TFTC.

11-Oct-12
Oooo. That's interesting. - - - - Both the beginning and the end were surprises. - - - A rider's cache indeed. Good one. Loved it.

Hey nice ultra-mini cache! I found this with wombat101 (see below). Thanks for replacing the log book, we struggled to find a place to write when we were there. Still, a good end to a day of geocaching. Smile

26-Sep-11
Worked this one out and with finding no number for E so we supplemented it !! We headed off and found we were heading to private property so a quick trip back to re-check all our info and it was all confirmed mmm made a quick stab in the dark for the missing digit and came up trumps Smile (Whew) A quick grab as people started turning up as we were about to depart GZ Smile Nice hide Smile TFTC

Cool multi. Out for a mornings adventure with the family. WP1 info quickly gathered....final a sneaky but
quick find...thanks.

05-Feb-11
Great little multi.

04-Feb-11
Stopped by on my bike last week but the powerpole number had me stumped as I was looking at the wrong J7. Sorted that out tonight on the way home so took the kids to their favourite playground and afterwards went looking for the cache.

Enjoyed the link between final gz and the start - nicely done. The cache was easily spotted by K while M was poking other bits and Mr KE was still getting there. It wasn't on the ground but unsure if it was in its intended spot either - will check with the cache owner. Anyway, a nice multi, thanks.

01-Feb-11
Cool multi. WP1 was an Interesting spot. At the final, the cache was on the ground (again!). We placed it where the clue suggested it was meant to be, but it needs securing somehow. TFTC.

24-Jan-11
A nice look at the art work

16-Jan-11
A whole family visit for the daily cache. Found it on the ground 8m from today's GZ. Looks like the wind blew it out of it's spot. Consulted clue and have put it where we think it belongs.

15-Jan-11
Nice multiple. Cache wasn't on it's hidey hole but we found it close by.

05-Jan-11
No problems with this one, except that although the cache camo was in place, the cache wasn't! Eventually found it on the ground, not sure what caused it to fall out but it might need to be better secured. TFTC

03-Jan-11
Arrived at start coordinates just as another family caching group was heading off. I managed to make a complete botch-up of the numbers too, but I had gotten close enough to apply a wee bit of logic and guess the final hide. Clever twist. Good one Biggles, thanks.

02-Jan-11
Nice One!!!!!!!! Really enjoyed this little multi. Unique place to stop and gather all the information. No worries on that part and off to the final. Co-ordinates were spot on for an easy find. Much fun. Thanks

02-Jan-11
I continually muck up these simple counting multis and this was no exception but whatever I did wrong got me close enough to guess with the clue. A great multi - full of surprises. TFTC #1764

01-Jan-11
FTF at 12.02. We were logging a morning find and found a new group of caches were out. We were intending to go for a cache near this one so decided to look for this first in case it was still not found. A number of quick off the mark cachers are away so we were pleased but not totally surprised to find a blank log. Mrs Sobad really likes quirky caches and also appreciated the link between WP and GZ. Thanks.

01-Jan-11
A bit of challenge this puzzle but once we solved the puzzle, the cache was in our hands within minutes.
it was great to meet & have a chat with dafran Cool
good one
