I was super keen to get this one at such a significant location, but logging on now we see that it has gone.
Walked passed here today and noticed cache was gone , only the stones once hiding it are there.
Our second DNF for the day. There were a few muggles wandering around, but think we had a pretty decent look between interuptions! Got some great photos of the shags. Cache stayed well hidden this time.
Had to leave this last trip due to car load of youths parked right at the cache. No worries today, reread the info too.
A quick find while we were stopped to watch the little blue penguins come ashore just after dusk. I enjoyed this cache, it led me to a very interesting bit of history that I would not otherwise have known about. Signed log, TFTC!
We have been too early for the penguins. But as we had to arrive at Christchurch this day, there was no chance to wait. Fortunately the cache was found so the stop has not been of no avail. Thank you for placing this container.
Unfortunately no penguins, but we were lucky about a cache. TFTC say Uhiesscher and I.
After going out for dinner, we came down here for the Penguins, but decided to do some caching even though the GPS was in our room. We had all the caches on our Nuvi, but it isn't good close up. Found anyway, so SL. Thanks to Bitsprayer for the cache,
Interesting piece of history and quick find,. Took some stunning photos of the birds here and views of the boats. Did with Mycro Man on our NZ MEGA 2012 South Island Trip
A really great piece history learnt! Puts a new spin on the area for us now, thanks for this interesting ca he.
We had no idea this piece of history was here. Rather a sombre place, when you think about it. We stopped to photograph the jetty nearby, and Mr Wibble didn't even know I had plans to find a cache here, until he spotted it and said "hey...... is there supposed to be a cache here? Because I just saw one!"
This was one of 69 caches for the day along with bogonghazy enroute from Oamaru to Dunedin for NZ Mega. We had sunshine, rain, snow and wind throughout the day. But still got to enjoy a greats days caching. Thanks to the CO and greetings from Oz.
Found as part of the Gangsters- The Rats, Farmer Frentzen and Big Matt and Shell- as part of our NZ Mega Event Tour 2012.
Originally I thought this one might be out a bit but not so! TFTC!

Day three of the trek south to the NZ Mega.
After staying in Oamaru for night two, it was time to head to Dunedin. We'd had a cooked breakfast in an Oamaru bakery and grabbed a few caches in town before heading south. This was one of the caches we found. My thanks to Bitsprayer for the cache.

Like Scott, I was lost and the cache was nowhere to be found. A chat with fellow cachers a few days later revealed I was snowblind.
Found with Sully1 on our third day in this beautiful country.
Today we headed from Oamaru to Dunedin, enjoying even more of this scenery
and friendly Kiwis, and finding a great variety of clever and educational caches along the way.
Thanks again Bitsprayer

Found on the "Gangsters" NZ Mega 2012 trip with steeba, The Rats and Farmer Frentzen. Found quickly, there is only so many places to hide a cache.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache. Stats for our trip can be found here http://www.campersdownunder.com.au/geocaching/NZTrip/stats2.html

I was trying to focus on the tragedy that the message brought but instead all I could think of was that song, "Message in a Bottle", which kept spiraling through my head! The view across the jetty was perfect as it caught the last rays of sunlight. TFTC, Bitsprayer. =^.^=
After booking in at the motel we had enough time for a couple of caches before it got too dark. Found this one on a brief trip to check out the penguins. TFTC
Day 4 of our N Z Mega Event Adventure as we were slowly making our way down to Dunedin in our hire camper van geo mobile. We had arrived in Christchurch on a very cold and rainy day, but the weather was now beautiful and sunny - perfect caching weather. We found this cache quite easily and with the log quickly signed, we jumped back into our cache mobile to continue our adventure. Thank you for having placed the cache Bitsprayer
The things you find about your own area. Was a bit worried poking into holes that a penguin might bite but no need to poke in holes.
An easy find on a very cold and windy day. Impressive with all the 'steampunk'-stuff down the road

Find #1342. On a lovely South Island holiday from Wellington, although the weather wasn’t quite so nice in this part of the country. A solo find in an effort to see some of the town with squally southerly showers blowing in off the sea. Loved the history of this sight and it’s nice to see the buildings so well looked after. A Leopard seal was basking in the cloud on a haul-up not far away. Surprised the see the cache in such an open spot. Wouldn’t get away with that in Wellington! SL TFTC
In Oamaru for a BBQ at a friends on Saturday and after a great lunch at the Portside on Sunday had to have a look for this one.
A quick park and grab and then a read of the sign soon had us clued up on the message.

It is nice to see the improvements being made to the foreshore area in Friendly Bay. Those old buildings are sure in find shape and with good documentation of the historical event that happened here. Glad there were no muggles around to prevent my signing of another document.
On our back to North Oamaru, we made a quick but lovely stop here. Merci pour la cache
Fluffyduck38 was in charge of this one, he did well! We left a penguin TB (it seemed the perfect place) and took a badger one. TFTC
A quick dash between passing muggles and back to the car to log our visit. A TB swap here seemed appropriate.
Nice easy find on a warm day, quite a few muggles about had to pick the right time to grab it.
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through, on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

TFTC Two officers and two seamen rowed ashore from the Terra Nova, which anchored off the harbour and got a coded telegram thru to London to announce the demise of Scott and Party. On the way back to the cutter they were chased by reporters who knew something was up but didn't spill the beans. By the time the ship got to Lyttleton half the english speaking world was in mourning.

As the reason we came to NZ was to celebrate Clare's Birthday we were being taken out for a meal (and a very good one it was) so came a little early and did a little caching.
Now this is where we ate up this end of town and we loved it here. We started to look in the wrong place but soon had it sussed.
