As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Looked extensively at lunch today but was unable to find this one. Is it going to be checked or archived?
Thanks

[I replaced the serviced cache today. The cap will need regular servicing.] Look low.

20-Apr-11
I have looked for this one on a previous occasion. I picked up a likely looking object but couldn't budge the cap so I took it home to see if I really had found the cache. After quite a stuggle with my vise and stillon wrench I got the cap off and discovered that it was indeed the cache. I have serviced it and will return it soon. Thanks Melbermans

Gosh, its gone. Will re-estasblish soon.

Not really sure whether cache was here or not. Had about 10 minutes here to no avail. Extreme signs of trampling.

10-Mar-11
I went to have a look at what was going on on Monday. I couldn't find the cache as there was a large amount of cut vine & tree branches dumped in the immediate area. I am pretty sure it has been dumped illegally (same as all the rubbish that you guys keep commenting on).....................
Anyhow the cache may be gone. I have to go & have another search of the area, but I just have to say:
I am a bit disappointed in the negative comments regarding the rubbish & the obvious lack of removal of same. Its not our rubbish but we do remove what we find when we are there & actually when we are at most caches if we find rubbish around. You must realise they are (for the most part) in public areas.
I am a little disappointed in the slackness of the cachers who do not place the container back in the same place we had it. I know it probably isn't any one person as its a bit like chinese whispers isn't it. But really, if the container was in plain view then it isn't where we first installed it, as the earlier logs indicate a much harder find than it has been of late.
I am not going to disable the cache at this stage but be aware that it is under investigation.

Arrived at GZ and found what I thought was the cache in plane sight. I couldn't get it open so I doubted the find and had a short search ( a lot of Muggles around). On emailing the owner it was confirmed I had found the cache. Unable to sign log - sorry. TFTC Melbermans

Too many Muggles (even though most of them on other side). Will be back another day. TFTC

I found this one just sitting there in plain view, had it been Muggled? that lid is just a little bit tight for my liking. Thanks for the cache, this one may need checking.

Number 10 of 18 today as I casually cached my way around Melbourne's East.
Cache was a nice easy find. Top a bit hard to remove, and cache contents stuffed in very tightly.

Found at 10:40 whilst shower dodging. Being a Monday muggle traffic was non existent so had time to search, which was needed for the great hide and container. SL TFTC

Found by Bob at 1700

This cache is right on my usual route to work (along Springfield Rd) and has really convenient parking and is quite easy to access - yet I haven't managed to get around to going for it yet. I guess it was the references in some of the logs about having to search in some messy spots that discouraged me from doing it in work clothes. Anyway, I was in the area today and wearing old clothes, so I decided to pop in. It was looking as though it might have been a bad time though, as there were cricket games in progress and a couple of kids were using the nearby nets - but I thought I could creep up and, at least, have a quick eyeball of the area without them spotting me - and was lucky enough to spot the cache container and it was in a position where I could grab it and hide from their view while I did my logging.

Thanks Melbermans

This is a really good hide Melbermans and it took a little while to find. It took longer to remove the log and I will email you why.
The log and bag were completely saturated so I took the opportunity to put a new bag and new log into the cache, with the old one underneath.
Well done on this hide which I really enjoyed except for when I pinched myself!!

We were going to have a go at this one tonight after finding Hidden Diamonds...... as we started driving to this cache it started raining a little ......... by the time we got there (7.30pm) it was pouring!!
We waited in the carpark for about 10 mins but the rain just got heavier and heavier so we went home to get a phone call to pick MMelb up from Youth Group early from Waveorama Pool as the road had started to flood..... well they werent kidding!! Springvale Road had water way over gutter height in several areas, part of Waveorama Pool Car Park was flooded with one car nearly up to the top of the wheel arch in water!! Finally made it home having to drive up on the medium strip at one point on Springvale Rd as the water was so deep!!!
I guess it's nothing compared to Queensland, but still a bit of a worry!

Oh goodness, we are having a bit of good luck with our "nemisis" Wink caches the last couple of days, but the owners are having bad luck Sad
Yes we found the cache but it was definately not how it was meant to be and we will email you separately Melbermans. We think the Mugglettes may have found it ..... log book sodden etc etc
Fantastic cache container by the way so we hope that it is able to stay or be hidden elsewhere nearby if the Mugglettes are a problem. When it was published back on 1/1/11 we had already had a FTF on your other cache that day so at the time we decided to leave it for someone else to get the FTF........ now we wish we hadnt lolol, it would have saved us a few trips here lol .... no actually we havent minded at all. We like a challenging cache and who knows whether we would have found it today if it hadnt been compromised !! Razz

Ok .... to the area.... Smile JMelb grew up on Camelia St off Koonung Rd so has many memories of the surrounding area !!!
When she was living there Blackburn Tech was still in existance so one complete side of Camelia St was the boundary of the Tech School. She and her friends had a treehouse in one of the trees on the edge of the oval almost opposite her house. Much of this area is now taken over by housing as the Primary School has much smaller grounds than the Tech School did! JMelb went to Blackburn High school and we still shop at the local Shopping Centre. She was a Brown Owl (Leader) of the Brownie Pack that met in the old back hall attached to the Church on the corner (St Alf's) that was pulled down when they renovated just recently. She also helped out with the Guide Unit that met in the other Church Hall (Uniting Church) opposite the carpark near GZ. She has played a little (fun!!) tennis on the Tennis courts. She did a craft Course in the Community Centre many years ago. Sooooo, thankyou for bringing me back here and bringing back so many memories!! I certainly hadnt realised what a hub of sports it had become ...... or probably always was lol!! TFTC Melbermans we TNLNSSL (signed sodden log) and we will recommend the clever hide!

Having met up with lochb, she, Listmaker and I had a look for this one. The GPS's had us in the tennis courts which wasn't helping, nor was the rubbish! Previous logs were tantalising as was the change to the hint (I still had the old one).

While the others mucked around a bit Razz I did what Farmers5 taught me long ago and got in there and really looked. Suddenly I had it!

I have to say that it is a very good hide, in a logical place, and very pleasing to find. Well done and thanks Melbermans.

26-Jan-11
I was glad to team up with Alansee and listmaker to look for this cache as I would probably have given up rather quickly. We had looked in a few places. I checked previous logs and was about to call a previous finder when Alansee called out "I've got it!". Smile TFTC

Geokids just took geofriends up for them to do Koonung & the geofriends found it was filled with water, so they brought the log back to us & we are temporarily disabling it till it is emptied & new log inserted. GOYA

26-Jan-11
Found in the company of Alansee and lochb. This is actually quite a straightforward hide. There are a lot of potential places to search, and there's some rubbish in the area as well as a lot of leaf mulch, but in the end Alansee managed to locate it in a very logical spot. My gpsr was pointing to a spot in the ivy about 7 meters toward the carpark from where the cache is hidden, but thankfully that was incorrect.

Thanks for the challenge, Melbermans.

23-Jan-11
Geoson and I gave this a good go, we probably searched for about 20 minutes, but too many places to look for a micro. We read a few logs and we probably just needed to think more lateral, but in the end we ran out of time. I don't feel so bad though, seems most cachers didn't find it on the first go and needed another clue.

Thanks Melbermans - We need another good clue to, or maybe just a more specific hint on the cache page?

A DNF today out with caughtatwork.
The GPS was not helpful & there was a plethora of hiding places!
We gave it as good a go as we could, but unfortunatelty no luck.
On to the next one.

22-Jan-11
Too hard for this little party of black ducks.
The GPS was pointing between 4 and 9 meters over the fence, so we had a good look, but too much ivy turned this one into a needle in a haystack and we gave up.
Too many more caches to get around to today.

Laker63, crank1 and I have been searching everywhere inch by inch..
We gave up except crank1 as usual.
Few mins later we thought better to keep looking.
Finally found it by Laker63... wow where did you find.
Gave her big hug.
yeah unusual cache indeed..
Thanks Melbermans for this challenge cache

First time I looked for this cache was after a heavy rainfall which must have influenced my choice of possible hide options. There are so many possibilities around there for a micro cache and some are less enjoyable than others. The logs however made me curious, so I asked for help. Actually got a lot of help which made it an easy grab while out jogging tonight. An unusual container indeed. The area could do with a CITO...
Thanks, p-boro

No i couldnt find it either although found the chocolate bar & unopened condom too. Was there for about 30 minutes but had to go pickup a child so had to log as a DNF!!!

Still has me a little stumped so a clue would be great!!

Out with Blacklegend (Marshy) for another of our night time caching runs. Very warm and humid night (96%) had us dripping with sweat. This was the second cache we looked for and after 40 minutes had no idea where it may be. The clue was interesting and when Marshy found an unopened condom packet it all made sense, and he was pretty sure he'd found the cache, as interesting as it would be, and after a careful examination of the packet realised it really was just an unopened condom packet, he threw it away in frustration - mind you I was pissing myself laughing. We decided to move on and return later in the night for another go after we though about it. We contacted a few fellow cachers, all of who managed to shed no further light on the hide except for one hint which said we were in the right spot. Returned and started looking again. It was another 30 minutes before Marshy yelled out 'I found it'. Great hide. One tough bugger to find. Really enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for the hide.

20th and last for the day of 20 finds. Found with my good mate Marty (Quasar3671). Caching in 96% humidity and 23 degrees.... This was a return to this one at 4.30am, after an unsuccessful look at 11pm earlier on. 40 mins then, and no cigar. Was it a DNF then?? I don't reckon so, seeing as we knew we were returning after a think, a regroup, and attempting to get some more info on this one. We did find one thing first time around, actually two. An unopened condom, which had me thinking "this is it for sure, neat hide" with the clue and all.... Well it wasn't, and Marty did piss himself laughing. Next i found an unopened chocolate bar which then had me thinking "What the hell is going on here" Condom's and chocolates.... I have several funny theories, none of which i can post here... lol.

So, after getting a little info from a fellow cacher (not easy at or after midnight) we decided to return and clean up some "unfinished business". After scratching around and dodging spiders, i spotted the briefest glimpse of something in the torch light, and you know that feeling of victory you get when you find those difficult ones..... yeah, that's what i had. Very nice hide indeed, and yes, it will get better with age. Cheers and TFTC.

Well, going back in the morning didnt help lol.
We searched around for about 30-40 mins, luckily only encountering 2 sets of muggles in that time (and we stayed out of sight lol)
Cant wait to find this one but we're going to have to ask for a clue! Smile

Tonight with it drizzling we correctly figured there wouldnt be anyone at the Cricket Nets around GZ and apart from a couple of passing muggles that MMelb spotted from high up in the tree and was able to alert us in plenty of time for (handy he climbs treees coz it gives us an excuse to be just standing around an area lol) we had the place to ourselves. We looked for about 20 mins but the light was failing so we had to give up.
We'll be back early one morning with hopefully better light
Thanks for the challenge Melbermans - even though we havent found it yet, we enjoyed looking!!
We also saw a lovely sunset!
Glad we're home now as it's raining heavier now!!

Third time lucky! But not without a bit of help...

After yesterday's DNF followed by rrajie's find, we asked for a little bit of help - Both to alleviate the frustration but also to save the plants any more of Happy Chappy trampling! Rrajie gave us some cryptic information which helped us narrow the search area down somewhat, so I returned after work today for another scour... Still found myself scratching my head and the mulch and wondering if I was going to be unsuccesful yet again. But then, as I was playing with an area I'd looked at and played with before I saw something so suspicious that it could only be the cache! Phew!

Great hide. It's wonderful to see something new, at least for us. And in hindsight this wasn't the 'needle in a haystacky' kind of cache that we made it into!!

Well done Melbermans...

TFTC.

Had a few minutes up my sleeve today so decided to pop back in for a daytime search. "Just 5 minutes" I said to the Mrs as me and beta female headed off for a search... Well, that turned into 15 as we met up with another group of cachers also searching... However, daylight still didn't shed any light (ha!) on the cache subject in question. This really is confounding me this one is!

The area around GZ is taking a bit of a beating with the incessant searching of so many DNFs, including a few squashed grass plants... I think I'll be asking for a bit more information before trying again so I don't add any more to the damage.

09-Jan-11
Found at 5.53pm by rrajie, hubby and friend. Last (and hardest!) of 7 caches today!

Melbermans... AMAZING cache. Seriously, AMAZING hide and amazing amount of time spent trying to find it. We bumped into another lot of cachers who we were a bit weary of first (not knowing if they were muggles) but he started chatting, and said that there had been heaps of DNFs (I didn't even look at the logs before we ventured out... maybe I should start!)... We searched for a bit together but then they had to run, so we continued. We took stock of the situation by turning off the GPS and tinking about the clue for a while (didn't help!) then turning the GPS back on, and I told the boys (hubby and friend) to back up until we got an accurate reading. And, it seriously did lead us RIGHT to it. (Don't know why it didn't the first time!!) INGENIOUS cache! Love it!

Happy Chappies (now that we know who you are!!), you were EXTREMELY close... It's definitely where you were looking!!

We arrived to find many muggles in the nearby clubrooms so drove around to the other carpark which was virtually empty. We began searching but after about 3 mins and before we had even got the GPS to lock on GZ, 2 guys started 2 practice in the cricketnets. We kept looking for another minute or so but felt really conspicuous so we gave up..... we'll be back another time - hopefully muggle free!!

Well, cycling_guy and I searched for quite a long time in the darkness tonight, but all we found were squillions of massive spiders!! I'm looking forward to eventually finding this one, but for now it eluded us - Must be something we're just not looking for... Maybe daylight will help...

07-Jan-11
No success at all after a long search with the area all to my self,no muggles, still could't find it.Will try again at a later date.

05-Jan-11
Just upped the difficulty of this one a little to let you know that you do have to search a little bit. It could be a 'walk-up' but then again...........

04-Jan-11
Nice little walk today to lead me here. I used to play tennis here as a visiting oposition team for many years. I did not realize that there was so much playing grounds area behind these courts. As I neared I realized that there were a couple playing on the courts and they just happened to be playing on the court right near GZ. I had to creep around while I search for the loot. I felt I was evesdropping whilst they were talking big money investments. After searching for 10 minutes I could see the nice little hide.
Thanks for the memories

~20:05 King Snr and King Jnr

Ok, we are blind!

Following our 2nd attempt I emailed Melbermans for a little help and to confirm we were in the right area - we were, and this meant that my guessing was wrong. Even with the email and the supporting log from HillTribe (thanks) we still were not able to go straight to it - it just meant we had to try harder. It took at least another 10min before King Snr finally found it and I opened it. There were also muggles about this evening, walking, practicing cricket and playing tennis.

We probably made this harder than it needed to be but thanks for the challenge.

Our thanks to Melbermans for the cache, I am sure it will be there a while. Sincere Thanks too for your help.

No luck today - second attempt

Had noticed the run of DNF's and happened to be driving past so popped in to check if cache was still in place. Indeed it is ! Can confirm that iPhone coords are maybe 2-5 mtrs out, but within acceptable tolerance.

03-Jan-11
It was a perfect day to attempt this cache, no tennis, cricket or school. Unfortunately also no cache could we find! Met up with members of the Solomon family who were also struggling with this one. Made us feel better we weren't the only ones! At least meeting some fellow cacher's was a positive note.
Thanks, we are intrigued and will try again.

15:26 King Jnr and Geoprince

No luck today, we arrived and had a good look around, then opened the clue, reread the description and the other logs. Scratching our heads I had a thought I had an idea where it could be, but how to get to is? We circumnavigated the enclosed area to look for a way in but all locked up. Arriving back at our first hunting area I saw a family poking about just as we were, introduced myself to Kennedy*5 - it is always nice to meet other caches on the hunt - nice to meet you. We had another brief hunt before we decided to move on..

We will be back maybe with another set of eyes.....

This popped up on the way home from mrs Iamapoms mum&dads to celebrate one-eyed's (father in law) birthday. Thought i would give the ftf a go. Found GZ although gpsr was all over the place but was around 5m. I think I was hunting for the wrong thing and I'm pretty sure I saw the cache but ignored it. Bum. Another time.

YAY *** FTF *** for HillTribe.
Having been beaten to a few of the new releases and seeing this one pop up, we just had to make a dash for it. Thankfully other cachers were still eating dinner so we had gz to ourselves. After a short search had the log in hand and happily recorded our 2nd ever FTF. TFTC Melbermans, a unique container that will improve with age.
