Logs
This are is too heavily used by Mountain bikers so too difficult to retrieve cache.
I had tried to right this DNFd cache a month or two back, but on that day MTB trail cutters stood in my way of progress while they did their thing.
This evening though I had the track to myself - the cold wind probably didn't help - so I was able to take a good look at things.
This time I approached from the opposite direction to the previous attempt and I saw a far more obvious 'new' that I had overlooked before. A poke around on either side yielded nothing, but I was looking for something smaller!
Spreading my search just a little wider I uncovered a couple of rocks which then gave me a glimpse of what I was looking for.
I soon discovered why the container was so heavy though. It was full of water and had been for some time I guess judging by the state of the log and then seeing when it was last signed. Sadly the log was too wet to sign.
Unfortunately, it's become an unintentionally themed cache which will need some TLC.
Thanks for the hide all the same.

Enjoyed the walk to the cache, meet many walkers/runners/cyclist on the track
Was very pleased do this cache, as it brings back memories, it has been a long times since we have seen CO 's name pop up. Thank you
Thank you Buzz Tasman for the cache and bringing us here.

The last cache for us along this bit of the track. Then back tracking and down a level to search for the next cache. TFTC
Struggled with this one a but as we were looking for a new pipe. Didn't realise it referred to the concrete ! Our GPS accuracy was +|-11 meters which seemed big to us but maybe things are different in the northern hemisphere. Thanks for the cache BuzzTasman.
Like others before, I felt the coords and the hint did not seem to tie up, so I looked in both places anyway.
Nothing apparent in either. I thought I had found something as I approached the 'newer' option but just ended yanking out a length of plastic wrapping and getting a wet foot for my troubles.
Back another day.

Not sure if we took the optimal route up from the Old Codgers Track, but it was very steep and I was ready to blow a gasket by the time we reached the Pipeline Track. Relieved that the track leveled off here and it was now pretty easy going. GPSr seemed to want us to go down the hillside, so consulted the hint which quickly got us to the cache. Nice to find a good sized one, too. TFTC.
#9482. Once we met up with the pipeline, we had a steep climb to start with (with the pipeline underground). It was a relief to get to the level section. TFTC.
I didn't really mean to collect this one today but it was a GC Calender Day for me and workers at the new Old Codgers cache meant I couldn't grab that one ah well, onwards and upwards on a nice cool day. Quick find and only one biker before I made the grab. TFTC
This cache has been on our 'going to do it' list for a while so today we set off to 'do it'. We tipped water out of the container and left it turned upside down while the log was signed and bag dried before putting it all together again and replacing where we found it. The log book is damp but no problem to sign. Thank you BuzzTasman.
After getting a new placement at the start of the track this cache was the perfect compliment to our morning walk. The leak seems fixed but the container was still half full with water however the log fine. All done and dusted before the bikers, joggers, walkers and pooches started to make it a busy place. Thank you Buzztasman for placing this cache.
Had to pour water out of the container, but the log was still in an okay condition. TFTC
Yeah. This pipe has been here a while hasn't it! What a lot of work, especially around all those corners. A great walk on a beautiful day today. TFTC
Out for as walk on this hill this afternoon. First time along this track. There are a few moist areas! Picked up the trackable.

Found it on our evening ride escaping the heat of the city, lovely spot, bit of a breather here before the climb up Jacks track. Thanks BuzzTasman, nice spot.
We had some time to burn before dark when we were out riding, so we found this cache. Thanks!
Not convinced I took the most direct route to find this one (?) but saying as it was a beautiful morning, didn't matter and had a nice leisurely stroll through the forest before work. Easy find once at GZ. TFTC!!
Quick bike ride up Old Codgers and back around the pipe line. Would have found quicker if I'd read the clue rather than relying on GPS, accuracy not that great. Left Superchips TrailDash Tag
Krustyjr found this one while I was floundering around down the bank following gps. TFTC
The ol' GPS was a little off here, no doubt caused by the pine trees, but nice cache. Took Grover toy, left giraffe. Tftc
Easy find. We were going mountain biking so we thought we would go do some caches. TFTC. (logged by 10yr old MTB maniac)
Second last find of the day. I was truely surprised at the number of leaks in the pipeline... I'd hate for it to burst.
Thanks for the cache, BuzzTasman

Drove up the Brook Valley hoping that the tracks in this area were open. No sign of closure when we accessed from the Tantragee so we decided to try for the CO's 2 caches in this area. This was the first and we had no problems. We also found the cache box damp - and also dried it a bit more - but we didn't have the latest logs recorded so could not dry it completely. No problem to sign the log. Nice to think our water comes this way!!!!! Thanks
We have been to the I-site to find out that almost nowhere you can take your dogs for a good walk, Except to this area...so off we go.
Don't think the dryer option for the container really helped. There was a whole swimmingpool inside the container. Did dry it.....and the logbook was still dry in his plastic bag
A lot of the track (downwards) had landslides..(no sign from the top). When we arrived at the bottom it said: track closed....hmmmm. To go to this cache is without any problems. Thanks for bringing us here.

Some GPS issues but managed to get it before a group of MTBers spooked me. TFTC TNLN
A full complement of Bs attended this find. Dodging mountain bikers turned out to be a full time occupation. Lovely day for it, thanks for the excuse to take the family for a walk.
decided too wet for the bike, so went for a jog and finally ticked this off. it was the container that is leaking, all the treasures in a pool of water, but log is fine.
It was such a nice afternoon that I decided to carry on to this one after completing the new caches up the Maitai. Tipped out the water from inside the cache but the log is still nice and dry. TFTC #2159
Easy find. While biking came to face to face with some friendly cows leaving their mark on the track.

Second find for the evening wander. I had to point this one out for Ellie perhaps the scent is more disguised by the leaky pipe surroundings. TFTC.
A nice day for an early morning walk with a couple of caches as a bonus. Walked up the Codger's track and found the pipe, then followed that and found the cache. GPS a bit dodgy under the trees as it swung from 20m to 6m as I approached GZ. There's also a quicker way, as I found on my way back down via Jack's Track. TFTC, Biggles.
Quick find. Muggles, dogs and bikers all over the place up there on a Saterday afternoon. Good one, thanks, Topgear01 (and dog).
Saw this get published as I was cycling to the pub up over Bayview - decided I couldn't leave my mate drinking on his own and left it for someone else to get FTF. However, by 10pm nobody had found it so went on a night raid (maybe the schnapps convinced me). Took a while to find but got there in the end. TFTC
