Egg in incubation at The Gate (Manawatu), GC3XV1F. Will hatch on 11/11/12 to provide a FTF opportunity for those who have never logged a FTF, at the 10-11-12 Incremental Event in palmerston North.
I have had this egg for a while, nice to find the right place for it. Thanks, caroii77.

Time for Casper to say goodbye, good luck to the 19 eggs that were reared in captivity and slowly released by fellow cachers into the wild. I look forward to finding them all
I'm going to remove the cache and have a think about whether I can move it somewhere else or remove completely. Casper has laid 20-odd eggs so far and it would be a shame to remove it but it has been interfered with twice now by muggles and I'm really disgusted that someone had put a rat in the bag [:(!] I'm really really sorry you had to find that Haithikiwi and J'n'K and thank you for disposing of it
Oh goodness, I've just read the previous few logs. Yuck, I'm so pleased I didn't find a dead rat. How unpleasant. All I had to deal with was trying not to step in the mouldy dog poo nearby. Maybe, it's not a good idea to geocache with only jandals for footwear, me thinks! I took the last egg. Sorry Casper. Now, onto thinking where Casper's off-spring will nest / hang out. TFTC
Was with K of J'n'K. A very unpleasant surprise in store. Easy find for cache, not well hidden. Unzipped outerbag to find a very large recently dead rat inside. Gave me a fright. Obviously been muggled as however clever rats may be I don't think they manouver zips. K very kindly threw rat into the bush. Harry, the dog, was no help. Not the sort of 'egg' you'd expect a canary to lay.
Actually found and logged this about a year ago, but was here today with K's sister Haithi.Kiwi and there was rather an unpleasant surprise in the outer cache container - a dead rat! Gave us both a fright The cache was not well hidden so suspect it has been found by kids.
Did a check on nest today, its down to its last "egg", hopefully she'll lay some more in the next couple of weeks. Cache all ok
A nice easy find today, and what a lovely little spot. Took an egg and hope to seed it somewhere later this year. Thought there might be micro-eggs present, but the little white stuff that came out of one of them indicated that they really were what was labeled on them. TFTC, and the concept alone is totally worth the favourite rating I am giving this cache.
No sign of Casper but nest in good order, maybe due to the large eight legged guard that that was on duty in the bag . Signed log and added a bit more cover to the nest. TFTC.
Nice quick easy find, looks like a muggle has found the cache but have not damaged it ,they left a message asking what it was, signed log TFTC
Stopped by during the day to hopefully not disturb Casper. Found the nest, wide open but eggs still in good order. Left my mark, took and egg and resecured the nest so hopefully Casper will resettle and brood more eggs. TFTC
First cache find of the day while the Fairy half was at the Newlands Community Center spending money on clothes for MyCro Man. Cach was very exposed and completely unzipped.. Logged, rezipped up, and covered up much better. T4TC
found with Smurf Serena while visiting the area after attending -gonefishing-'s 11-11-11 event (GC3288E) in Tawa.
Love the concept, and one of the cache eggs will be 'hatching' here in Palmy North

TFTC. What a busy bird indeed. Found nest and checked on the eggs, all have hatched and taken flight. Great spot and great concept.
jr taybee had the GPS on this one and got as to GZ and had cache in hand and sign the log book i like the hind drop off A TB TFTC
Very cool idea for a cache, think I'll make one of these back home. In town visiting family, grew up in Newlands but now live in Montana, USA. Lucked out and Casper was away from the nest so zoomed in and grabbed a cache. Great hiding spot. I'll bring the egg cache back to Montana and find a good hiding spot for it. It'll have to contend with bald eagles and ospreys though! I'll post a picture of it when it's done. Signed log and left a labybug button and card from Montana. Thanks for this creative idea.
Find #537. Our third cache out of six for the daylight hours today, in a feeble attempt to clean caches out of Newlands. We parked up on the narrow street with the GZ in site, took a bit of a look around, and soon spotted it - no Casper here today! We took advantage of that and took one of the eggs, but we left a Travel Bug as a 'thank you'. A pretty neat cache theme! Easy find, back on the road. SL TFTC.
Casper must have been out getting more nest material so we dived in for a canary free find!
Bubble had to have the shiny marble, maybe she is a magpie. Micro badmington set added.
TFTC
Cheers
Pinetree and sunrise, with bubble and B-rad

Casper has one egg left. We took one. Well, I did. G_G_G just acted as a lookout. TFTC
A neat location for a cache and a neat theme for a cache. I have removed a cache-egg and will have a bit of a think about a suitable location for it.
Morning find. Just a bit of delay with near by muggles before retrieving and updating the log. Didn't take any of the 'eggs', but may do in the future as it's about time that I created a GC. TFTC
Arrived home from a few days of caching in Nelson and decided to go out for a quiet evening walk and do one final cache for the day. Arrived at GZ and found cache quickly without any issues today as there wasnt any muggles nearby. The outer contents were a bit wet BUT the cache and it contents were dry. Decided to leave the extras alone this time, thanks for bringing us here, TFTC TNLNSL (2796)
[420] What a great concept! Found quickly and like previous cachers, I was disappointed to see a local park used as a dumping ground for rubbish Nabbed a micro egg to utilise elsewhere (once I have secured a suitable logsheet) and will acknowledge its ancestral origins when published T4TC!
Guessed it was near here. Great idea. Cache still a little damp, but OK. Eggs are all safe. Was helped in my find by Jeremy. TFTC. Very disappointed to see the rubbish someone had dumped near by.
Nice hiding place Contents of cache were wet, log book was dry. Tipped out water and re-hid. Left a green marble.
Bag was a bit wet and the container was showing signs of dew but could still sign log. TFTC
#615. A very quick find at GZ. I wasn't sure what I would find, but the nest full of eggs put a smile on my face. Casper wont event notice if one of them is missing, will he? Neat idea, I'll hatch the egg in a suitable location sometime in the near future. SL, TFTC. -blue egg, -tb
A really great idea! Popped by in the early evening and snuck away with a blue speckled egg which will hopefully hatch in the near future . TFTC!
Did a quick check on Casper and her nest was down to her last egg. More have now been laid
Came past on a short evening walk to clean up a few unfound caches around home.
Swapped GCs but left the eggs for others, we go though this stuff pretty quickly too.

A quick find - walked straight to it - during a lunchtime caching excursion today. Signed log, TFTC!
Popped up the road after work and located the nest. a nicely hidden cache. Didn't take any eggs today as I already have a few of these all camoed up and ready for placement. Great idea. TNLN TFTC
Nice to find a cache of that kind again. Had one in thuringia where you should hide the new cache near a tree and tell a little bit about this tree-species in the description. This one is great too because we thought about hiding a cache while traveling, and this gives us the opportunity to do it. Thank you very much. We think the little caspar will go to the south island.

Great cache, nice easy find. Thank you for the egg, this will come in handy and hatch some place new soon. Added another handy cache box. TFTC
What a great little cache. Took one of Caspers 'eggs'...will re-home once hatched. TFTC Cheers!
Really enjoyed this one, a lovely theme, I haven't come across anything like this before. Good spot too and a well thought out hide.
Left the nest untouched myself though I immediately thought of a certain local cacher who lays a lot of these himself, I expect he will be quite egg-static when he finds this one, and may well leave you with an empty nest.

The initial run of visitors seemed to have abated as was all quiet when I checked out the nest. At Miss and Master Miester's requests took an egg to hatch. TFTC
Did a quick check on the nest, all ok, Casper has laid some more eggs after yesterday's flurry of visitors
So that's where all the eclipse containers have gone. Took squirrel TB to place in my new cache at Raumati later today. TFTC
Stopped off this morning on the way home from work for a 2TF. Casper was out catching breakfast which allowed for a quick find once the appropriate nesting location was located. Already had breakfast so left the eggs for someone else to collect (perhaps another well known local cacher can use them to add to his extensive collection ). TNLN, SL. TFTC.
#1915. Upon arrival, kjwx and robnzh were already on site - hey ... a mini event and catchup. Quick find and we each took a cache-egg for hatching. Also discovered 3P Passport TB as robnzh had been taking it to visit here as well. LNSL. TFTC.
As Casper is the name of the friendly ghost would you expect this cache to come out and be first found at any other time but around midnight
Seems too that he/she does have lots of friends judging by the string of visitors, though the eggs may have something to do with it lol. (I am a little confused because I think Casper was a male but this one lays eggs, but I guess these are the days of equal rights lol.)
As FTF was long gone and I wanted to do some J'ville caches as well I started there.
Then arrived at GZ area and all was quiet for about 5 minutes when suddenly out of the blue a car pulled up and I thought- hmm could be a cacher- and sure enough I then recognised kjwx.(maybe revenge for my having recently, with another cacher, muggled her at another cache which ironically has a theme concerning the proliferation of micros lol.) Was having trouble working out which of the alternative possibilities was the right one as my GPS was wandering: she said her GPS was pointing some distance away from where I was looking, before we could investigate up pulls huhugrub who confirms her reading so off we went to the GZ!
As mentioned by huhugrub, 3P Passport TB visited.
Took one of the eggs- hope it's free range but I guess it is as Casper seems happy enough! Incubating the egg now, I saw a spot today which looks like a good place for it to hatch so you never know....
Nice to meet you both again.

They say 'Birds of a feather flock together' so I wasn't surprised to find robnzh at ground zero, followed by the arrival of huhugrub soon after.
Together we quickly nestled into the task at hand, each earning an egg to incubate. [Pleased to note that my new GPS phone is eggs-tremely accurate, much more so than I'd first thought.]
Then it was time to perch together for a group photo, taken without the help of a viewfinder by Rob, before we flew off to our respective nests.
See you next cache, chaps. And to Caroii77, TFTC.

FTF @00:15hrs.
Nice idea to encourage more cache placements. I didn't take one as I already have a handful of micros out there and now I'm trying to put out larger containers wherever possible.
Weather-wise it was ok at home this evening, but I am sure camocrab must have a weather cam trained on Newlands as it started raining as I got closer. Fortunately just a light drizzle as I figured out my access point in the dark. No problems finding the nest. Thanks for the effort of assembling all the ready to go caches, they look good!
TFTC.
P.S. I've had to log this as 6th Jan, as the site won't let me log a date as far into the future as the 7th!!
