Hi guys I am sorry to announce that it will be the end of the innings for this cache and will be retiring not out on 79 finds. I have decided to create a new transformer art series and this cache impedes the placement of the new ones that I will be creating. Thankyou to everyone who has enjoyed finding it. Cheers Wildtui
We were at the park today for one of the mini cacher's soccer game, and there was no way we could leave without at least attempting to find this cache. Luckily we were quickly successful, although at one stage one of the mini's managed to get his finger stuck (I am still not sure how, and luckily after a few minutes he managed to get it out again). Found with darthcacher1 and purply.
Came by this way today after getting 4FTF's in Waiuku forest. No one here today so had the place to myself. When I opened the log paper I see 4 names haven't found this cache at all but have said they have on this cache page......
Here for soccer. Had a good look with eyes and fingers but didn't find it. Next time.
I have no idea how to play cricket, so I pretended to be a catcher in a game of baseball and I caught the cache. TFTC.
Chasing the 500 with this being #483 on the way out to the beach. Days like this I am greatful for a good cache description and hint otherwise not a chance my GPS is not as good as others, TFTC
Today hoped to find enough caches to reach 3300 finds. Falling short of goal today as we were beaten by the rain, dark and the number of repairs we have done.
12.20pm - Arrived just a little early as the kids were still batting near by. Once game was over it was all on, proved to be well hidden but Squirrel came up with a catch. SLTFTC

Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are a long way from home... We are pushing into Franklin District today and looking for caches to put towards some Geocaching Challenges... We also hope to reach some personal milestones too...
The day turned out to be more of a rescue mission. So many caches we visited required maintenance or total replacement. The state of some caches and the frequency in which maintenance was carried out by us was quite alarming. Luckily, we came prepared.
This one was just nasty... And I mean that in the nicest possible way We got held up here for a very long time. There was a rowdy cricket match in progress, but we searched on nonetheless. We figured that if we were struggling to find this, a curious muggle would too. We just feel sorry for the abused agapanthus plants... They look like a steam roller has been through here. Anyway, this cache deserves a favourite point based on its sheer evilness. TFTC.

Cheers Wildtui10
Sorry guys muggles have found it, i checked it this morning while out for a run and couldn't find it. I will think of something clever for the future
Last cache find of the night, with slieschke after a cache run up to South Head. Took a couple of minutes working our way along the possible GZ before this one was spotted. Nice and easy in the end. TFTC!!!
Final cache for the day with funkymunkyzone on the way back from the Manukau Heads. Thought the bowler must have been bowling a wide
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hey guys I have finally managed to replace the cache in the same spot but this time with a special water proof log book. Happy Hunting WT10
Hi guys sorry I haven't been able to repair the cache as I've been busy lately but it will be back up and running very soon I promise.
Cheers Wildtui10

Need to fix cache as contents are becoming too wet so I need to think of something.
I have replaced logbook and made a small repair as water damage was bad. Good to see that my double bag system works to stop condensation and rain. Happy cache hunting.
think balls going against metal knocked cache off its spot, found it a couple of meters off in the ground! replaced where it should be! tftc
Glad to have this one back up and running after a DNF not that long ago. We made our way over to the new GZ and parked up close by. After having a quick think about the hint, i knew exactly where to look and proceeded to find the cache. Logbook is nice and dry inside the bags. Replaced the cache exactly as found. TFTC!
Sorry wild tui i didn't replace it exactly as found because it was on the ground in the open.Reattached it where i'm sure it was supposed to be.Thankyou.
First bag has hole in it so contents at that level damp, sorry. Cache wasn't stumped but caught behind. A quick find on a grey yet fantastic geoday.
Thank you for placing this cache.
Thank you for placing this cache.
Ok so here is the story. I have replaced geo note and logbook with fresh ones, but I have a cunning trick. I was originally going to put the key holder in snaplock bag and then it can stay dry from rain while still being able to stick to metal, sounds good.......WRONG!. This would only encourage condensation because the air temp inside the bag will get warmer than outside and water would condense, so here is the idea I have. I will place the contents of the cache i.e. log, Geo note in a small snaplock bag. then I place the whole cache inside another small snaplock bag. The theory is that inside the first layer the temp. will be warmer than outside, and inside the second layer the temp will ideally stay about the same or similar as that. This should hopefully resolve the issue of condensation while avoiding rain.
COULD YOU PLEASE, PLEASE ENSURE THE CACHE IS REPLACED EXACTLY AS FOUND OTHERWISE THE CACHE MAY BE DAMAGED OR MUGGLED.
I will drop cache off again on Wednesday
Thankyou WT

Hi guys, I had a feeling this cache would get wet on the inside, so I will dry out logbook and insert whole cache into snap lock bag which should at the most, aquire condensation and not get soaked,
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We were in Waiuku today for a family reunion, and decided to do a bit of geocaching afterwards in the surrounding area. We had to revisit this cache later in the evening as there were to many cricketing muggles around to locate the cache. We made a quick find by torchlight later on, as the cache was lying on the ground, the inside was full of water and the log sheet too wet to sign, but we have taken a photo of the cache as proof if needed. Sorry we didn't have our normal cache bag with us, or we would have added a new log sheet in a plastic bag. TFTC!

Here is my refurbished cache which should be more interesting to discover. Enjoy
I also placed a trackable in it.

Muggles right by cache at first visit as the area is often used. Came back a half hour later and area was deserted. TFTC WT
Stopped by here in the very early hours of this morning to look for this one. We had no idea that this one was disabled, but after a brief search we gave up. We will be back when its back up and running to have another go. Cheers
Aha, that explains it. Waiuku seems to be in a caching black hole at the moment with so many of its caches missing!
Sorry guys it's been muggled by a disrespectful person. I will work on relocating the cache and getting it up and running ASAP.

To the next cacher that visits, could u please state in your log what sort of condition the cache is in as I can make some repairs or changes. Thanks for helping me maintain my cache. Cheers WT
We had just been on a cache maintenance run to Kariotahi Beach, and decided to do some night caching in Waiuku on the way home. This was the closest cache, and when we pulled up near GZ it was very dark, and we were initially not sure of the best access. Then we realised there was not actually a fence there! Searched for a while using the hint, then tried a bit higher up - success! Thanks for this one.

Nice quick find, not too many muggles about as there have been at other locations today.. Tftc!
found on a cache rad in waiuku visiting family for my birthday today tftc
There was some cricket so I had to wait until the afternoon.Found it straight away before the other geocachers.TFTC.
No cricket today. Down on hands and knees on the wet ground to search for the cache.
I have place a travel bug in this cache 'honey comb' The cache is still in good condition (and it should remain that way too for a while). WT
Too wet for any one to be playing cricket here today so able to have a quick find.
The boys of the team were camping in the area so picked this one up before heading off to the Hunua Ranges. TFTC
Found it on the ground, a bit exposed. Placed back up, but still visible :-/. T4TC - M@
4423 We have been meaning to collect this cache for sometime but have never quite got there - so today was the day. Thanks for the placement, we stopped and enjoyed the area before heading off into the city. TFTC
This must have been the quickest find that Tufty and I had all day. Parked right alongside and took just a few steps and the cache was in hand.
I convinced BaldEd to come with me out Franklin way to do a few caches today. Must have been a giant's foot methinks.
In: Geocoin.
Cheers for the cache.

Hi everyone. I have given the cache a full maintenance repair including a new watertight container which has been tested, a new log book and some new items (fell free to take but leave something please). It also has camouflage green tape around it so it is harder to spot. Still in the same spot so don't worry. Thanks WT
I'm going to disable this listing so that no more unlucky hunters get there hands and inky wet. Will replace cache log soon.
Left a piece of paper with name on it. TFTC. Have enjoyed doing the backroads of this region.
I will be replacing this cache with a new water tight container which I have tested and also replacing the logbook with a fresh one. Sorry for the wait but I will do that this coming weekend (11th & 12th). Happy Caching !!
Easy find, but log was saturated, just one step away from being pulp. Did manage to leave a mark though.

Initially misread the hint but located the cache anyway. My first visit to Waiuku for many years. Nice to be able to pick up a couple of caches here along the way. TFTC, Biggles.
We looked carefully for signs of Megadromus antarcticus, but drew a blank. More luck with cache.
Nice find on day two of a holiday finding some caches up in Auckland area. Spent most of the day in and around Pukekohe today. Thanks for making my trip full of good finds. SL TFTC
Hi Wild Tui here, after my past attempts to preserve the cache from the wet weather and paint fade I've decided that I will replace the cache with a better waterproof container from Mitre 10 in the very near future. Thanks for the tip about condensation in snap lock bags and I will ensure that this mistake will not happen again with any of my future caches. Happy Caching!!!
6893 Cache is a bit damp in its sweat bag, left as found, nice artwork nearby, TFTC.
Out Waiuku way this afternoon caching with the Future Finder. Interesting Art near GZ. Nice quick find at GZ. This is a good example of why you should not wrap a cache in a plastic bag. Inside of bag was wet, as was the inside of the cache. Wrapping a cache only encourages condensation. Still, nothing wrong with the location or the hide. Cheers for the smilely!
Enjoyable autumn day to be out caching and this one didn't take too much trouble to find T4TC.
Parked on opposite side of park so took a nice wander around to settle on co-ordinates, TFTC
