thanks for the cache phiki614 .Muggle Kev wanted to come to the Warbirds - first time in 6 years and we didn't realise until a week ago that there was a need to buy tickets and there were were only tickets available for practise day - Friday. So I thought yah a chance to do some caching. Grabbed my bike and set off, this was the second for the day. Quick find. The trail was quite busy with runners as well as walkers and some others biking.
The complete month march I am travelling on both Islands. Christchurch heading south, next the westcoast.
AbelTasman-Wellington-Rotorua-Hahei and finally Auckland.
This was one of the caches I found; thanks for showing me the area.

Stayed at the historic red bridge and decided on a short bike ride to grab the caches close by. Great views of the river along this track.
Nice easy find once we had the correct tree.

We picked a hot day so the nearby shade & bench were much appreciated. Tftc
1. cache today on my bike trip. Few days ago I moved to Luggate so could start a loop there, find another cached in area. Finally I finished in John Creek due to strong wind + pain in lower back + a small snack .
Great walk along the river. Took a bit of searching but GPS was good. Had to hurry as got muggled by a dog.
Great views of my favourite river. Never really explored this end.

Another hike and cache day in New Zealand together with D4nielB. On our hike on the Upper Clutha Track and back on the Newcastle Track we looked for some caches near our path.
It took us some time to find this one but finally we made it and could sign the logbook.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

Today Jul1ane and me did a 32km hike up the Upper Clutha Track from Alfreds Town towards Luggate and via Kane Road back the Newcastle Track. It was a great tour, and fortunatly with very little rain, most of thetime we had perfect weather - sunshine and a light breeze. On the tour we of course also searched and found some caches.
Here we had to search for a bit, but finally found the container.

Well we intended just to go for a sedate bike ride to get 3 caches on the Clutha river track. It turned into a 16km mountain biking trek from near Luggate all the way to Albert Town!! Also was really hot and no wind to speak of so we were exhausted when we got there. Got the 3 caches which was the important part! Thanks!
Biked here with the 15 yr old. Lots of other cyclists around today. Beautiful spot. Cache in great condition. Tftc
My first ever cache found by bike. Just learning to ride at 37! Nice 5km training for me
Found it! Another great cache found on our geocaching school holiday walk. TFTC
A cycle ride out on the Upper Clutha River trail and return on the Newcastle trail. Superb weather and an excellent ride with good scenery. 54Km of pleasure! A few caches as well!
Enjoying riding this bike track for the first time. Impressive drop to the river and great views, thank you for placing.

Nice mtb tour along the lake and clutha river. Quick and easy find.
Got caught by the rain while logging this cache. Cycled back through rain and mud but it was still a nice and successful day.

Brian has three seats so be careful to choose the right one? Stunning walk, not strenuous, great views.
A bike ride up the Clutha with friends today. Took a little while. Thanks for the hide.
Out for a bike ride along the newly opened Newcastle track (on the other side) that now forms a loop along both sides of the Clutha River between Albert town and the Red Bridge near Luggate.
I really like the view from the bench seat nearby and in autumn this view is stunning with the deep clear blue water, the golden leaves of the trees and the rugged mountain background.
Thanks for this site.

2nd stop of the cycle trail to Luggate. Took a few more minutes to locate than did the previous cache. It was a great day to cycle the trail from Albert Town to Luggate - with a tail wind all the way.
Hiked over from Reco's Shortcut on a beautiful balmy late autumn afternoon. A great day to be out, thanks phiki614.
Woohoo!! This is number 100!!!! Laukey and I spotted it at exactly the same time TFTC
Enough caches along the bike track to make a good excuse to make a trip of it. Really great day out. Thanks.
GPS and scrub sent me a short circuitous deviation before quickly honing in on the cache. Got there on loaded touring bike, taking the scenic route to Albert Town from Luggate.
We walked to this from Reco’s Shortcut. More spectacular views of the river, although we were glad the strong wind was blowing us away from the river bank side. TFTC
Out riding this track for the first time - what a great job DOC & the locals have done! Uplifted Teddy Bear TB for a trip North. TFTC
Found while biking the Upper Clutha track - we enjoyed the spectacular views during this ride, TFTC.
Great track toride. Beware the huge droptot he river not far from the cache. See photo.
TFTC. Quick stop and grab on bike ride fron Luggate to Albert town. Great track.

We walked from Stevenson Rd and came across a TVNZ film crew filming from the top of their off road vehicle - jet boat in the river, helicopters overhead, quad bikes racing around plus about 15 people.....What was happening? They didn't appear to want extras so we kept going. Nice day for the walk. Thanks for bringing us here.
I had two great walks for this one. After walking down from the far side I discovered it was over the other side of the river. A quick walk back to the ute and then all was revealed. The second walk was really enjoyable along the top of the river and signing the log was great!
Thanks

Nice walk loved those steep banks, we came in from the other end, about 2km shorter.
