Decided to to go for a lovely walk on a nice winters day and check out my good friends, Altaire's cache. So no problem getting to GZ and after hunting about for a few minuted my eyes drifted downwards to the bottom of the cliff..... oh..... there lay the cache sprawled open and the contents scattered. The logbook was no where to be seen and it appears that a whole lot of muggles have signed the scrap of paper left behind. Reading past logs it seems that a past finder decided to move the cache to a location more to their liking, to match the hint. It also appears that the same finders didn't realise that over time vegetation changes and it is not kosher to move someone else's cache unless requested by the CO.
So I found a way to the bottom of the cliff and collected the bits and pieces. I had no idea where this cache was originally located so a quick message was sent to Altaire and as requested, this cache has been removed.
There is also no record of the previous Czech cachers ever having been to this location let alone signed the scrap of paper, see photos of remains of cache.

Climbed up the track from the main Terrace Falls track. Wow! Great view of the valley! TFTC.
TFTC - Nice little find. Found in a spot unmarked by a sapling, so moved to a more appropriate spot.
Found this one today, and a few others, on a loop walk in this delightful part of the mountains. Achieved in the company of geobrother (Forereach) and Mrs Forereach. It was a beautiful day for the walk and enabled us the complete the caches in this area with the exception of Bikerbuddy's "Victor Falls Track" cache which appears to have gone walkabout.
The cache was quickly found by Mrs Forereach basically on the side of the track at the top of the small cliff !! Signed the log and replaced the container where we thought it should have been. Will advise CO of actions taken.

Set out for a days walk in South Hazelbrook to complete the caches in this beautiful part of the world with the other half of Forereach to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary along with Geobrother (Dogwood53). This was a lovely start to the day but were surprised to find the cache at the top of the cliff edge in plain sight for all to see. We replaced it where we thought it belonged according to the description. CO might like to check.
It was such a beautiful Sunday morning I couldn’t resist a trip to the mountains for the day. Having hiked Kedumba Valley last weekend I had noticed a nice little group of caches around Hazelbrook and made that my destination.
Last one for the day before completing the loop and heading back to the car. I have really enjoyed this delightful walk in a location I’ve never been to before. I think I’ll be bringing others back here to enjoy.

Parked at suggested co ords. Quick walk to gz. Read logs previously meaning a quick find at gz. Cache all good. Tftc
If I'd bothered to look at the hint straight away I would have had a quick find...
Last of 6 caches that we found on this walking circuit today. A lovely spot. We sat here and had lunch whilst enjoying the view. TFTC
Most of the caches in this area are around the 3.5 terrain and not what I needed for a morning of caching with geodaughter. After The Carrington we had a walk down to Minnatonka Falls. Then we had a relaxed walk to this spot with a top view. ZoNic loved it too. A mint tin in a bus stop is nothing special, and I can't do the heights of some caches or even abseil. This one is everything I love about geocaching. Fave point. Thanx Altaire
Great view at the end. We crawled down to find the cache under a ledge. That was fun!
After spending the night camping at Euroka Clearing we headed up to the Hazelbrook area to find a few caches, this being one of them. We enjoyed the walk around the area, and this was a very nice spot. TFTC Altaire!

Visiting from the UK and introduced our Aussie friends to geocaching. Lovely clear day and B (6) thought it was fun!! TFTC
TFTC - Our first cache visiting from the UK. We introduced our Aussie friends to geocaching and they loved it. Left a dinosaur and took a wooden Geocoin.
A beautiful Winter's afternoon, clear sky and an enjoyable walk to a fantastic view. Found the cache quickly and sat and enjoyed the peaceful location, Thanks Altaire.
A very fitting name for the cache. It was very windy at the time Phlphotos and I arrived. We searched around for a bit until I found the treasure.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
#286 it was very windy on the point this morning. I went one side & Noodle22 got the correct side this time. Our 5th find of 14 around Hazelbrook. Signed the log & replaced. Thanks for the cache
Great views, but the black clouds were closing in, so just a few moments of enjoying the area and then back to the car. Merry Christmas and many TFTC!
I was working at Selwood House for the week, and ducked out at lunch to go for a walk. I parked at the recommended spot, then it was a pleasant stroll to GZ. Trusting the coordinates, I got a bit lower, turned around and spotted a likely location; of course, the cache was right next to it in the next likely location. I sat and enjoyed the view while pondering the imponderable, then headed off, I had found this quicker than I thought I would, and had time for another. Thanks Altaire for the cache

An easy and pleasant walk down here.
Unfortunately did not find the cache.
Too many opportunities and many rocks.
the hint did not help.

As usal I made this harder than it should have been after (once again) discarding the obvious hiding spot and checking every where else!
Eventually the cache was found, all is well and still in good condition.
Amazing views from the top, enjoyed that one.

Perfect sunny Winter's day, to a windless lookout. Great location for the GZ. Found with Bisygisy. TFTC
Last GC cache for me today. One of the easier ones in the area. I enjoyed the view from cliff line.
TFTC. Found with whitemushroom.

Great location with really nice view. Hints were helpful to find the cache. Quite a nice one with lots of goodies inside!
This is a fantastic spot. Loved it. I have been out this way many times as I grew up out here riding motorbikes through the bush (back in the days when you could get away with it). I even went to a party at the Helipad back in the early 80's but I had never been out to the point where this cache is. You could sit out there for hours and take in the serenity. Thanks for bringing us back here.
I was on my way to "at the end of our road" when I saw a track heading off to lake Road so thought I would go for this cache as well. When Lake Rd bent around 200m from GZ I decided to try my luck with a bush bash. The scrub was quite light and it was easy enough to scramble up the rocks to the plateau. Cache was easily found (once i stopped admiring the view) and in very good condition - lots of great swaps although I only took a GC. Thanks for an excellent cache, Altaire.
A great cache. I didn't know this great view existed as I have only visited the falls in the area. Will have to bring geohusband out here. Thanks for bringing me here and having such a well stocked cache.
Wonderful look out, and I have never been here before.
Rocks have interesting contortions. Enjoyed this cache.

The clouds were dark n stormy, the wind fair whipping the mud on the track into a frenzy, showers were looming in the Katoomba-ish direction. I LOVE caching in the mountains!!
Never walked at to here, have been down below many, many times, so it was an interesting perspective to view the ups n downs from.
Cold, biting light rain stung our faces as we looked for this one. Ahh, there it is.
Nice spot, truly.
Cheers

Finally got a chance to come back for this one!! Lovely walk to GZ and cache was easily found. Took pretty frog rock and left a frilled neck lizard stamp. Thanks for a wonderful cache! The views were awesome, thankfully the rain held off too!! Signed the log and replaced cache back into its hidey hole
Out in the afternoon with orangetree.
Cache well secreted. Great views.

Went in the late afternoon.
Walked the distance from Valley Road and along a few overgrown tracks.
Great location, brilliant scenery and a great hide.
Cloud cover made getting a GPS lock difficult but I managed to locate the cache (with a fellow geocacher, aka. dad)
Thanks for the cache!

A nice walk out from where the bus dropped me off near valley road. I've been in this area before but not out to this location. A great view over the valley and after a quick look about GZ nabbed the cache. It's in good condition all dry. TNLN TFTC
Asked the Nuvi to find the parking spot and it did! Parked at the gate and a quick walk out, the cache was soon in hand...reminds me of the Wild Dogs, but on a smaller scale!
I am always glad when we go for a bushcache. Thank you for a great cache, Altaire. Although I would beware that there are cliffs nearby. TFTC
We did a lot of caches out Bathurst earlier this week and you don't always have time to read the cache notes in detail. It breeds bad habits, because we just followed the GPS navigation by road which took us down Terrace Falls Road where we had to leave the Pulsar just before the steep section. A nice little walk, but longer than the way you have suggested, and the WaywardWoman certainly felt it up the hills. Anyway, when we got to GZ I initially looked too far down (again, I didn't read the notes) and then spotted it on the way back up. We were lucky to get this one in between all the rain we've been having and also trying to clear out a deceased estate. A nice diversion. Thanks
We went the wrong way to this and made it harder than it needed to be. On a muggy Sunday afternoon, it was a bit testing for me but the geohubby and our boys did it easily. Lovely spot once there. TFTC
After completing my tasks for the day I still had time to grab this one less than 2kms from home.
So, my middle son and I returned to a post we had visited twice before as the 1st Hazelbrook Scouts Cub Pack use this rocky outcrop as their abseiling spot!

As I set off down the fire trail at the end of Lake Road in Hazelbrook, my Passamaquoddy heritage told me that at least two people had walked along the track since it had stopped raining, probably within the last few hours. It actually didn't take many 'tracking skills' to see the evidence in the boot prints on the sandy part of the track. So I didn't approach GZ with any FTF expectations.
However, in uncovering the hiding spot and extracting the cache, I distinctly had the experience that it had sat there undisturbed for a time. And when I opened the cache container and found the pristine log book, I was momentarily amazed. My first reaction was a quiet 'Woo hoo! FTF!' which woke up a few ringtails sleeping in the nearby gum trees. I really hadn't expected to be the first geocacher on the scene . . .
After completing the caching formalities I settled down a bit to enjoy the area. The view across the bushland from the top of the cliff is wonderful and the whole area is very peaceful and apparently seldom visited. In fact, there was very little rubbish in evidence -- and none whatsoever at GZ -- which led me to think that the CO has found a nice secluded place for this new cache.
However, various errands back in the Upper Mountains called, and I had to leave sooner than I would have liked. I kept thinking that I'd meet my friend TC coming down along the track! But I saw no-one until I reached Valley Road in Hazelbrook again, and returned to the ordinary world of cars and houses.
Anyhow, back to the geocaching basics . . . Published coordinates seemed very accurate. The CO's description and clue were quite helpful. And the cache container was in excellent condition and the contents quite dry. TNLNSL.
Many thanks, Altaire. A very enjoyable geocaching experience in a place I hadn't ever visited.
