Logs
My favourite cache of the day! Log is full and wet though so couldn't sign it. TFTC =)
Tftc. Log was very wet so unable to write our names. Would have replaced if we had paper
Lovely place, found the playground by the lake. Ours bums almost did fit getting up the stairs.
The log paper is wet
Thanks

Walking with Flying-Kiwi through the Naseby forest and picked up a few caches. TFTC.
Had spent a couple of nights in Naseby and was looking forward to a walk in the forest. I have been heavily involved in orienteering for many years and this piece of new Zealand is considered one of the very best areas in the country. After this visit I now understand why. Stunning forest with great contour features both natural and manmade during gold mining times. Had a map and made my way here cross country orienteering style. Got lucky with the silver cache in the first place I looked. Tftc
Slightly confused at this one because there were two of us looking and we both called 'found it' at the same time. The puzzling thing is, we had both found different containers differing only in colour. One was green and one silver and both were placed by the cache owner. Not knowing which was the right one, we signed both. Was one lost? Gorgeous area and the day was lovely. TFTC
Found while supporting someone at the Nasby ultramarathon. Great day and well done to all those who competed. TFTC
I love the Hoff!!! And we enjoyed finding this cache too. 6yr cachelet found it, then quickly ran across the road to iceskate on the frozen car park.
Away on the Mountain bike for a couple of hours. Takes awhile to find the right track to get you to the caches, just means a bit more up hill now and then. TFTC #763
No one here today at all. What a great forest. No sign of the Hoff himself unfortunately.
It was still drizzling but there was daylight left for caching so why waste it? Thanks ernienz.
Came in here for some local caching at the end of the day. What a fascinating area this is. Thanks for this cache erninz.
Found this but didn't tell my girls where it was because they wanted to find it themselves ... which they did. They filled in the log-sheet and were putting it back when I asked "Where is the plastic bag it was in?" "It wasn't in one mum" "Yes it was!".
Turns out there are 2 caches at GZ - one seems to be the official cache (green) and the other the replacement one (silver in plastic bag). WE GOT BOTH - nice, because we'd had to give up the last time we tried this geocache.

A quick find on another superb Otago geoday. In the 2nd spot I checked.
Thanks for placing this cache!
Thanks for placing this cache!
Reasonably quick find. Even in broad daylight I find a torch is helpful when doing caches like this. The mess wasn't as bad as the earlier logger's photo. I wonder if someone has had a go at cleaning it up? Hard to say whether it has been caused by cachers dismantling the cairn in search of the cache. I certainly hope not ....but.....in the last couple of years there has certainly been a rise in the number of cachers who believe they can do anything, go anywhere and who believe they don't have to obey the law or follow the usual standards of decent behaviour. These individuals do not have the long-term sustainability of the game at heart. Here's hoping the damage wasn't down to them. TFTC.
Found the spot but not the cache. Time to head back to camp to cook dinner. Another day.
Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...
Im loading all my finds from my Alpha Males (aka GenCuster) logs, where he deigned to remember that I was with him... As if he could forget...16:00 "

16:00 JC Cache Dawg took off after rabbits & dug a hole. I looked at where the 'marker' had been disassembled and wondered 'why?' Excellent and subtle hide. Cheers, GC.
This one sounded very interesting, so we had to give it a go.. I managed to walk around the thing 3 times before seeing something.. and there it was

Being a working forest there was bound to be some closed roads.. the one to the 'Hoff' was one of them ! No matter, it was an easy and pleasant walk.
Just a quick walk from where we had to park the car at the locked gate. No logging happening today which was surprising as it was a weekday. TFTC
A stunningly beautiful Autum day, far to good to work in the garden, so we had a trip to find some of the newer caches and try to get a few photos.
Found at 11:22 AM on 21/04/2012.
Nice day for a MTB ride in the forest. Did a loop of the lake with the boys - great ride.

Found it on the last day of 2011! Our first family geocache - took a wee while though we must admit but it was a great day and we are pleased we persevered.
Found the right place ... but no log book. Had a good look (using clues) but still no luck. Stuff at back all broken off and nothing now loose.
Given the logging in Wet Gully Rd and the rain coming, drove around to hassle a micro.
@1355 First find of the day Got here at last as when we were last in Naseby we somehow missed this one.
However, it was no HASSLE finding this one today and getting it HOFF our TFs list. (What a terrible pun)

1/11 for today. Nothing like a nano to throw down the gauntlet! Fortunately only a minute or so to find.
Heh, quite timely to do this cache given the Hoff himself was in the country recently Cheers Gav [7202]
Yippee! Another FTF, seems we're the only ones hunting these today. Just 40m from GZ we found the gate was locked so hoofed it for a quick find. Whilst driving up another road for another cache we found we could drive straight to it!
GPS struggled with all the forestry roads though.
