Checked the weather forecast earlier in the week and made a decision then to complete the Kapaapanui Loop Walk with tmann421. After having crossed the river a few times and reaching this junction tmann said he thought he remembered an old cache here, a quick look and there it was!
Log was wet but signable. tmann has since removed the archived cache. TFTC

On our way out , having tramped from Renata hut.
Very quick find.
We were running quite late, and the logbook looked like mush, so I didn't bother trying to find my pen, and got one of the other trampers to take a photo instead.

After a trip to the final of a puzzle cache we continued along this terrific track a bit further to have a look for this cache. The find was an easy one thanks to the hint and the logbook was signable despite being very wet. We will be back another day better prepared to attempt the full loop walk. Tftc.
We had a solved puzzle to find, but it was proving elusive and as this wasn't much further on, decided to carry on to pick up this cache then have another look on the return journey. This was the easier find.

#6057. This was the only one of the loop caches that was within easy reach. With the next one requiring a height gain of 500m no matter which way round the loop you go, we went no further. The normally reliable 60CSx wasn't getting reception; luckily the hint was such that lack of reception didn't stop me finding the cache. Log book damp but sign-able (with care). TFTC.
log book was wet through, pencil was rotten and sharpener was rusty. I can replace the log book if you want me to as I live at the start of the track.
The 5th cache on my 3-day trip in the Tararuas! Always worth a journey to tramp or geocache! TFTC
A nice easy one before the not so fun uphill slog (soon followed by the even less pleasant steep downhill).
Out on a beautiful summer's day with simpsonsrgr8. We did the loop in a clockwise direction completing the circuit in 5 hours 20 including breaks. Not having been in here before I really enjoyed the walk and the scenery but I doubt that my knees would want me to return any time soon. TFTC

The first for the day completing the loop track with Fozzmiester. A little bit of water is accumulating in the bottom of the cache but the book is ok.
Last one on the loop today, was a long and great hike. Easy find. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Out for a day tramp with Edvern and other fellow trampers on the Kapakapanui loop. Here at the start and whats this - a cache!! TFTC
Out for a day tramp/geocaching - a group of six of us. Those stream crossings at the start were very chilly - no way to avoid getting cold, wet feet this morning. The first cache was soon in hand, thanks.
First of the day on a clockwise trip round the loop with SalvageNZ. The boots were nice and wet from the river crossings, but the cache was a nice quick find. At a reasonable pace and including some decent breaks at the Hut and Trig we managed to make it back to the carpark in 5 hours 40 mins making it a great day walk. TFTC.

Very easy find after an irritating charge downhill! TFTC

A pleasant spot I wasn't aware of - the challenge will be to one day complete the others in the series. TFTC
Decided to go for a quiet walk in the park in Waikanae with agcnz, boxhill and Hurricane Luke and do a few nice and easy caches (Yeah right) well this cache wasn't too bad, found the cache quickly - actually boxhill- found it, signed and returned safely back to its hiding spot, thanks for bringing us to this lovely walkway, always wondered where this walkway went. TFTC TNLNSL (2569)
First cache found on a very enjoyable day walk with Boxhill, Hurricane Luke and Yeetrees. With that many pairs of hands and eyes the cache was a quick find. Signed log, left Colin the Powelliphanta TB, thanks for the cache.
#368 - A quick find on a short stroll. Yeaahhh... In the esteemed company of Yeetrees, agcnz and boxhill - we mounted an assault on the Kapakapanui Loop. A few river crossings along the way, which made for wet boots - but a quick find by boxhill made for a group 2TF - the first of four. Weather wasn't TOO bad, mostly sunny with a bit of haze. We all signed the log and headed on upwards SL TFTC. + Kreiselkompass GC
Teamed up with agcnz, Yeetees and Hurricane Luke today to traverse the loop circuit. We got the ball rolling with a relatively quick find here. Then it was onwards and upwards. TNLN SL TFTC
*FTF* at around 10-55pm! Saw these caches come up and thought I would go for the first finds. Very nice night and I was soon at the carpark. Pleasant walk and really nice glow worm display by first river crossing. Crossed river 4 times before reaching the cache site. Even though there hasn't been rain for a while there was plenty of fast flowing cold water to cross. Short search located the cache and signed log, left TB TFTC Now on to the next cache..
