We came to do maintenance, but it looks like the council are tidying up the area after storm damage. Unfortunately it looks like they are in no rush though, so for cache and cacher safety we're taking it offline and because we don't have an eta on when it might be up and running again we are archiving this one
Stopped here on our way down to Dargo for a 4wd'ing weekend
Scratch about for a bit as the the GPS had me about 10m off. Foudn in the most obvoious place in the end.
Note there was some construcion going on.

Fairly easy find, but definitely some working going on in the area.

Mr Morris was on a boy's trip in the area and he had been encouraged to collect a few cache while in the area. This was the last for his day trip. Took the TB
It took a little while but RJA persistence paid off. We were nearly put off by the blue systema clip. Dropped off "Herbert the Hopper". TFTC
# 5531 Found on the road to Cann River today.
Nice and quiet and not many muggles around here while I was here.
A quick find this time and onto the next one.

Looks like people are getting sidetracked by the old broken container
but the cache is still there!
but the cache is still there!
I spotted this one quickly, %GeoHawk Snr% was way off the mark! Nice walk before breakfast , be careful on the stairs, some are rotted and in need of repair! TFTC!
Found this one on the drive from Canberra to Paynesville. The broken bit of sistema laying on on the ground nearly put me off, but I continued the search and found the container. TFTC.
Breaking up the long drive home from Wingan for the little one.
First magical container cache I've ever done! Next time I'm up this way you'll have to show me how you get 2 litres of ANYTHING into this container!
Took: small saluting man
Left: similarly sized mighty bean.

While in Orbost for the night with the Pajero 4WD Club getting read to do some track clearing tomorrow. After dinner, we decided to look for a quick cache at night.
The iPhone's light helped like the way. Best to do this during the day.

We were unlucky today. We couldn't locate the cache. Our search was hampered a bit as our dogs had attracted the attention of the neighbors and they appeared to be becoming curious. Also this area was apparently badly hit by some storm damage and a friendly man was telling us about efforts to clean the area up, we hope the cache wasn't cleaned up too. We'll keep a watch on this one and hope to do it another time.
This is another odd inner city park. There was lots crammed into the available space. I am very impressed. Again, it was nice of them to provide such a great place for a cache. Thanks.

Do two very large yellow tailed black cockies count as muggles. We got a very close up view of the pair. Having never got this close to one before we were surprised at just how big they were. Gran used to say that if you see black cockies down from the hills it means rain is coming. She was sure right today.

Greeted by squawking cockatoos we adventured through the jungle looking for the 2lt container which turned out to be a 200m clip top container. Good hide thanks
DNF with Smart Sassy Siren. Noted last finds were 11/06/12 the day before the heavens opened up to create Gippsland floods.
At GZ, there was evidence of heavy disturbance of ground debris and soil movement making it harder to workout whether the container may have been washed away from its hiding spot.
A secondary issue for us was learning that the 2 Lt container we were looking for, was in actual fact a 200ml container meant we spent a lot more time than we needed to on this one.

Pulling up in the logical parking spot, I immediatly recognised the spot as having parked here before with the kids about 2 years ago, must not have thought about the cache then? There is still quit a bit stormdamage visible in the area!

Today was the fourth day of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland. We visited a number of towns and areas today between Bairnsdale and Cann River and we were lucky enough to find some caches along the way. Again it was overcast at times with some very infrequent showers, we have had another excellent day. It was late in the afternnon as we arrived at this location. As we walked towards GZ we noticed a couple of possible hide locations. Thankfully the ccahe was located at the first of these. TFTC highrod
En route from Merimbula to Lakes Entrance.
Parked in the information centre car park.
Great short walk although there were many 'things' attempting to eat us. Loved the path.
Thanks Jacqueline and Peter #6970

micheena - woke up to a blustery day with showers. Lets do it, and out we went. pulled up with a shower starting, and made the dash. That wasn't the dash, as we found the cache, the skies opened up, quickly signed log and ran back to car. Didn't get to wet as we went on to find 2 more caches.
off to Eden for mates 50 th dropped in for lunch and a few finds
thought cache was lost as we found a broken clip of container
but found it on a second look
thank you highrod

This would have to be one of the few that I had actually read the description before looking for the 2 litre container! Luckily, I found the 200ml sistema in the same spot I would have looked for a larger container. Interesting little area.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
A drive by while in town to see the Snowy in flood with the rest of the town also - tftc highrod
Took a while to find as I was looking for something bigger. Eventually I had a closer look at the most obvious spot and there it was. Perhaps you could update the listing to reflect the change in container size. Nice park!
Thanks highrod

A nice quick find, after approaching from an unexpected direction - definitely not the path that is signposted nearby.
It may be a good idea to edit the cache page as the cache is somewhat smaller than a 2 Litre Sistema.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing

I found this without the aid of my GPSr (I left it home) or iphone (I don't own one}.
I went for a stroll and kept saying now where would hide it?
It was in about the fifth placed I looked.
Thanks for the resurrecting the Cache
I found some old swaps lying around after re-hiding the cache, so I placed them nearby, maybe the next cacher can put them back in the cache

The owner is really the one who's committed to maintenance, but it's a shame to let the good samaritans' work go to waste.
Does this one need reviewer help for un-archiving? or is there another listing here?
Cache is once again up and running thanks to Lostmonster & Co for your fantastic cache maintenance. thanks again guys
Shouldn't have archived this one. The previous finder said they'd DNF'd it an found ruins but that they'd replaced it. It's alive & well. See if you can get it reenabled.

Reading through recent logs noticed cache had been replaced just before it was archived. Decided to have a look and cache was found in very good condition.
Well when we got to GZ we found what was left of the "Old Cache".
We did some maintanace on this one and left a new container with a log.
Thanks for the hide Highrod.

This cache was hidden at a nice hiding spot in Orbost, but unfortunately is no longer. We arrived at GZ and found a wracked container with some writing paper next to it, quite sure that these were the rudiments of the cache. Thank you highroad for your efforts to hide a cache here, but you might wants to take it off the website now.
#1778 An interesting place although we had to slip into stealth mode when a nearby neighbour decided to go outside for a cigarette. Amazingly she never noticed us as we quietly signed the log and replaced before slipping off. TNLN our thanks to highrod for bringing us here.
On our way back from a camping and kayaking weekend we stopped at the info centre near the cache. Whilst Master E and myself put the billy on the girls went in search of the cache. I'd just made the coffee when we spied the girls walking back with a spring in their step - cache found and TB collected as well!

4319. [font=Century Gothic][green]For once I found the shortest way to a cache which was just as well as my 80+ year old parents wanted to stretch their legs (it didn't work and they are still in the process of shrinking ). Found easily to the accompaniment of the dog barking incessantly. The owners were just sitting on the back porch letting it. How do they have the patience?

Day four of our family holiday; this time our travels take us 'across the top' (of the mountains) from home to Lakes Entrance, then around the coast to Merimbula before returning home to Echuca. Along the way we'll be forced to stop and search for a few caches [:))]
The Wenches opted to stay in the car after reminding me it was after 2pm and they were still waiting to get to Orbost for lunch
A quick find after battling my way along the overgrown path.
Thanks Highrod.

Drove to Melbourne on a gnome kidnapping hunt.
Black Bunny had a few gnomes to leave in Melbourne, and his gnome carrying shopping basket (he calls it a portable incarceration module, but WE know!).
Had to find some ordinary caches on the way.

* FTF * for the greynomads. We beat Oakydog by only a few minutes by the sounds of it. A pleasant outing today which included visiting the Wood Art display in Orbost - well worth the visit. The area around the cache looks in need of a bit of TLC before it becomes impassable.
