As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

4 weeks is well and truly up and this is one of four caches in the area that are out of action. This is unfair to other cachers who may wish to use this area.

You will see a replacement going in over the next two weeks

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 21 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

Tempting to stop for a coffee but had to make the airport for a meeting. Definitely gone. TFTC

No longer loved?

A couple were sitting on the wall right at GZ, so we waited for them to leave (after all, it was after 5pm and there was a light drizzle starting). They wouldn't budge, so we walked on to the next cache in the playground. When we returned (after another DNF), they were still there. As we starting walking back to the car, StreetWalker noticed them leaving, so we raced back. All to no avail. There was a nice wee hidey hole, right where the hint indicated, but it was empty.
After a few DNFs, suggest a maintenance check by owner of this and the Playtime cache.

Attempted as one of many during a day of very mixed caching fortunes, compensated for by the glorius weather and the laziness of the south coast ambience.

We did this one over in between bouts of muggle management on a busy Sunday afternoon.
No luck here today.
The Turtle doesn't strike again (yet)!

Searched several holes , both eroded and pipes without luck today, suspect sand movement may have covered this a bit much.
Could not find anything Yellow at all today.... muggles everywhere hanging over the wall, so we had to take breaks. GZ seemed to be one particular sand filled hole between path and sand, but digging revealed nothing.

VERY WINDY

It's amazing what a difference a day can make. Tried this yesterday, but there were just too many muggles enjoying the sunny day at the beach. Came back today on a blustery, damp day and not a muggle in sight. Made a quick grab, after noticing GZ is in full view of the stairwell in the adjacent cafe, then on my way again.

A nice quick find in the late evening, no one else about which helped considerably.

Had to have two goes at this one - circumnavigated the cafe , spotted the hidey hole but we were foiled by 6 muggles leaning on the wall so came back an hour later and again waited for two teenage boogie boarders to remove their boards that were obscuring the cache site but as soon as they had scaled the wall we were in and out like robbers dogs. Nice walk along the beach today..didnt take to long to find location,just needed to wait for muggles to clear the area. TFTC

Found this cache quickly today, no issues at GZ as it was a bit early for muggles, BUT definitely not a spot to try on a nice sunny day. TFTC TNLNSL (2568)

3TF. A quick find on the way to work this morning, the early birds must have been in very shortly after the cache was published. Great to see the cafe back in action again, it's one of those iconic Wellington secrets. Signed log, TFTC!

Nice to see a Maranui Cafe cache back on the menu - though muggles were a problem even at 2.30am.

FTF @ 23:10 . Took a wee while to find it's hiding spot in the dark, but successfully retrieved after a few minutes. A good sneaky hide. TFTC.
