As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

We are having a few days in Chch visiting family and of course finding some caches as well. After a couple of days SW of the city today we headed NW and as well as most of the Lolly Scramble trail we found several others in and around the areas nearby.A great variety of containers and hides made it a very enjoyable day. The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or on some case with our full names.Thank you to all the CO's for making these 59 finds possible today.

It was a combination of holidays, family visit and caching. Since our last visit lots of trails have appeared and there were many puzzles to be solved. And a lot of trads thrown in for good measure. We almost forgot what it's like to be cut, scraped, prodded, pricked, bruised and stabbed by the large variety of hedges you can find caches under in Canterbury. We were not deterred and it was fun to find them. On our way home again and trying to find as many caches as pos. In the end they made us stay another night in the area Big Grin Thank you womble72

This was my second visit to Christchurch in as many weeks, a fortnight ago I flew down for the Mega event with my family in tow, this time I was down to attend a conference held at the school of Education. My wife generously agreed to allow me to stay an extra day (and night) to explore the city and do some Geocaching. I made the most of the opportunity and found just over a hundred caches during my visit. Having already completed the ‘cutlery’ series earlier in the day nearby I decided to soldier on and find some Geocaching sweetness by having a crack at the Lolly Scramble series (with the odd detour here and there).

My geosenses were well tuned by this stage in the day and I spotted this one very quickly. Thanks for the cache.

Kyzabra and I headed over for the Christchurch Mega from Perth, WA. Today we were joined by The Green Geckos today and we targeted some of the larger series around this area.

We had a fantastic time caching in the cooler climate and with no fear of snakes or other nasties! Christchurch is my old home town but I did not know about caching when I lived there so it was fun exploring the City with a different objective.

We were glad to grab the smiley on this one and we replaced the container as found. Thanks womble72 for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

This is my find #4399 and find #56 today.

28-Oct-15
A caching expedition that has been months in the planning. Jinta29 and I headed over from Perth, and today we met up with the GreenGeckos again for a final day assault on NZ caches.
We have had a ball over here. Personally my first trip to NZ. The cache owners have been great and Ive enjoyed meeting people aling the way.
i apologise in advance for the generic log.

womble72 - Kyzabra found your cache A place for bunnies (Canterbury) on 28/10/2015, 10:24 AM. This is my find #4300 and find #56 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

OUR FRIEND FROM GERMANY LEARNT A NEW ENGLISH WORD TODAY BURROW!
The next on our 210 run finding caches for the day with our team of four- HHSS. Working as a team each doing diff. roles we were able to speed up the find rate quite well and we managed to do about the first 100 with no Did Not Finds but after that the distances increased and the find rate dropped but we still managed to finish the day with 210 cache. The seagnoid has planned etc our route so it was all efficient Thank you to The Seagnoid for this pre work and thank you to the different cache Owners for these great, interesting caches. I just loved the huge chuppa chup and all the veges and fruit. . Thank you for the cache and another smiley face.

27-Oct-15
[green] Out with Hanknstone, Haydn.seek and thestepahine on an awesome 200+ day. We managed to get 210 caches in 11 hours, an average of 3 minutes each. There were a few awesome caches out there, but mostly it was a blur. Thanks to all the cache owners, and my apologies about the cut and paste!
Signed log as HHSS.
No, THIS was the place, not the earlier bunny one, where we were debating what kind of hide might be here. I suggest that the cache might be in a hole in the ground and Haydn.seek suggested in a rabbit pie!

27-Oct-15
Hanknstone, Haydn.seek, the Seagnoid and I had a challenge of doing 200 caches in a day. We started at 7:30am and finished around 8:00pm with a total of 200+. Apologies for the copy and pasting of the logs but there were so many we found that it would take so long to write them all up individually! Thank you for the find. Smile

Caching with capperz and G H 6 7 1 0 chasing caches and numbers across the Canterbury area. Was a great MEGA weekend and thanks to all the CO's who made it all possible.

Our team for the Mega weekend was signing as VYV (Vamber, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra). we found quite a few in the short space of time we were together, where I can I will make comments about the cache. We had teamed up back in Auckland and had been busy planning what we were going to target and in what order, of course plans changed even more so when we were down here, but that is part of what makes it fun and I had a great time over the weekend, thanks to all the CO's for placing.

We met with another cacher at site, this was the first time we saw another cacher on the trail, quick find TFTC

Found with L4TB (the reunion tour). We set off to finish what we started a few years ago. Nearly 2 years has seen an influx of caches in this area. I selected the remaining Lolly Scramble caches and The Fruit and Vege loop specifically for today's task. A few extra ones tossed in along the way. We went from 9am til 3pm and then headed over to the Mega. All caches were good fun and we had a lovely day. Tftc
This cache would have to be the unexpected highlight of our day. A truly beautiful spot.

An epic day of caching today, out to achieve 200+ finds in a day while I'm in Christchurch for the Mega event. There was also the lure of a virtual cache down in Peel forest, which isn't really that far from the numbers game along Thompsons track. A great day out and about, revisiting places I haven't been in years, and finding new places along the way. I teamed up with Capperz and Nightowl19 at 0600 in Rolleston, and off we headed in my cache mobile and general all purpose off road land rover. We signed the logs primarily as G C N to save space and time. Sorry about the cut and paste logs, but with over 200 caches to log it's going to take me a while to catch up. Thanks to all the Cache owners for the time taken to place and maintain them, and making it all possible. A nice series this, T F T C a real little community treasure this place, cheers for taking us here

Off to the Mega this weekend and a 2 day pass has been granted for Geocaching purposes. It being a long weekend and all there was definitely a plan to get some caches and keep the numbers ticking along. Finished work at 12.00 and waited for the accompanying nightowl19 to finish her school morning. Pick her up and back home to get changed and a bite to eat before heading down the line. There's an event in Rangiora that we'd like to attend and we need to check into our accommodation. All interspersed with few caches too. Today is the planned 200 plus in a day, to be followed by as many types in a day on Sunday, then back home Sunday arvo. Quite the whistle-stop tour. Weather played fair, we ate take aways all weekend. . . . . . . . . . . shameful parenting, and had a great time. Even got to cache with G H 6 7 1 0 too, bonus. We set off at 0600 and were all done by 2000 so not toooo long a day. A few hundred kms driven by G H and in the comfort of his 4 x 4 too.
To all the COs that placed these caches many thanks for facilitating this epic journey and (normally difficult caching target. In Marlborough I've already done so many so big numbers days are nigh on impossible without having to travel out great distances. Most logs were signed G C N being an acronym of our combined caching names. We replaced around half a dozen which were plainly missing on Thompsons Track which will surely help those who follow us.
Apologies for the cut and past logs and last of all T F T C all . Thanks

My first full day back in New Zealand and I was out with sharkiefan for a morning of caching before heading over to the mega. It was a beautiful morning with blue skies and a crisp breeze. Another one of those amazing places you would never know about without caching. We were so disappointed that we had picnicked earlier and so missed the chance to hang out here longer. Cheers for the cache and for taking us to this place!

Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces. Cool

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.

Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found.

Cheers and TFTC

Today I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 and vamber to hit a couple of the cache trails around Christchurch and find a few other caches along the way. We signed the logs as "VYV" to save time and space on the log. This evening we decided to make a start on the Lolly Scramble series, so we made our way up there after having dinner in Kaiapoi and worked our way through a few of them before heading back to get some sleep before resuming the series first thing in the morning. A quick find while working on the lollies. TFTC!

A pair of stalwart North Islanders decided that they would be up to a late night cache hunt and so fire-mansam, Fuzzyfruit and I left from the Twilight Picnic event to get some lolly caches Cool

A plan was hatched way back in April to bring a group of crazy cachers from the South Auckland area for a weekend of lovely caching at the Mega. For most of us it was our first Mega and what a blast we had. From the first event cache at the Airport, surprising one of our group with a birthday trip to the Mega (literally 30min warning to boarding!), meeting lots of like minded people around the Kaiapoi district and to the manic days caching to late, late in the night with our mega flags flying we all had such a great time.
All logs were signed as SEAC South East Auckland Crew. Sorry for the cut and paste log, but all the trails, trads and tricks imagined by all the local CO’s were fantastic. Thank you to everyone for their wonderful hides. TFTC!

23-Oct-15
Came down to Christchurch for the 2015 MEGA with a group of caching buddies for the weekend. My first MEGA, and it was fantastic- loved every minute, the caching, the events, meeting other like-minded crazies (sorry, I mean cachers!!!). Our group found 283 caches throughout the course of the of the weekend, so apologies for the cut and paste logs- but it's going to take me hours to log them all!!!! All logs were signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew), to reflect out home caching base!
HUGE thanks to all involved in putting on the MEGA event, and also to all of the Chch CO's for the effort gone to in their hides- we found some awesome caches, including fantastic hides, and cleverly done camo.... well done Christchurch, you're an awesome bunch!

Lovely reserve. Always find it amusing running in and out of the bushes with a bunch of people. Wonder what people think!?!? TFTC.

Continuing on a whirlwind mission to find as many caches in 10 hours, getting a late start at 2pm after the day started with my great birthday surprise of being able to attend the CHCH MEGA 2015.
Really enjoying this series of caches and the camo's being witnessed...
Thanks for taking us on a tour around this area.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin #5000 Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Today was the day I planned to find 27 caches and reach 100 finds for the date so I could grab a challenge cache at home in Sweden. The Lolly Scramble series looked like a good choice so I went for that. I printed a map from geocaching.com and saw many caches but my PQ must have been formulated with a filter of some kind as I only managed to download about half of them. Grrrr!

So right in the middle of the series is a randon cache that was placed four years ago and one that I didn't find when I was in the area a couple of years ago, that becomes my 5000th find! Woohoo!

What a nice place for bunnies! We managed to track down their "burrow" and say hi but we noticed that someone has placed coils of covered wiring close by. I'm hoping it isn't irrigation or telephone wiring and that your cache is safe as it was very close to GZ. I recovered the cache so hopefully it will be fine. TFTC
