Being driven around by Cookie We quickly made the find here. I guess it is harder to hide a Large container. The lid is starting to crack tho. A small amount of water in the bottom of the bucket, with some in the plastic bag the baseball caps are in - so getting just a little on the nose.
Dried out the logbook a little, and place a silica gel sachet in a Ziploc bag with the logbook - after letting it air for a few minutes while getting supplies from the car. Just not very sunny this arvo.

1815 When we had lived in Port Macquarie (95/96) we had come out to Slippery Rock a few times with the church and enjoyed the river.
A quick find; but the bucket is aging a bit as MAP's said.
Brought through for mileage: Through: Coins - 3Bros, Lighthouses, IconicBridges, B2B, Baa, Neigh Neddy and Oink, Travel bugs – Kobi’s supercar and Travel Unicorn Geocoin, and trackable shirt.
Left: scissors, pencil, Ziploc bag, and Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Took: sticker

As a kid I lived in Port Macquarie for a year, and I vaguely remember coming out to the swimming hole with the family. (Long before geocaching)
Took the biodegradable pen, as it was certainly degrading, and left another pen.
Through: Bajas geocoin #2
TFTC lightsaberlodge, I think it will be a while before I ride out here again.

Here's another reason why a bloke loves Geocaching.
What an awesome place. Never would have known this gorgeous little waterhole existed if it weren't for Geocaching & lightsaberlodge.
Cheers

Geo Hubby was out walking with his mens walking group today. He said they hiked for 14 ks altogether & found the cache towards the end of the walk. The large container was well hidden & left the same way.
He took nothing but said the cache is still full of treasures.
Thanks LSL

Finally found my pot of gold! I found this after getting Rocky Road Ramble.
Drove on past early in the morning and grabbed this at about lunch time. The drive in is a bit rough, but we weren't keen for a long walk or bike ride (we had the bikes just in case we couldn't get through in the geowagon) Beautiful spot here, if only it was summer for a swim. We made lots of swaps today with all the drinking paraphenalia at hand. Ledug and Blackie_71 couldn't help themselvesWink Found it fully exposed, upside down and with a bit of water in it. All goods were dried out and replaced. And I am now the proud owner of a TED beanie. Alls good on the Pot of Gold front. cheers from Browngang Thanks LSL

Visited this cache with Browngang and Ledug. Although I have previously found this cache I couldn't resist thowing in a few toys in exchange for a brand new stubby holder.

well....what doesn't the state forestry do to prevent people enjoying the surroundings!!

on a maintenance drive today we found some new additions to the road...as in large obsticales as in oversized drains cut across the road in several places. Which hinders the honest geocacher!!

We couldn't retrieve our hide on this occassion ....so for the time being please park at the bird watching spot and hike it.....Warning will be at least 3ks to the GZ from here then you will need to turn back to seek your car.

We heard about slippery rock years ago so it was nice to be able to pay it a visit to see what all the fuss was about. Loved the water hole very pretty, the old camping site looked a bit rough perhaps back in its day it was much better. Found the cache ok even with a dodgy gps, I just love bucket caches, always lots of goodies. I noticed that across the river was mount boss, I wonder if this might be an alternative route to doing "the boss" cache? Might have to give it a go just to see if it can be done. Thanks lightsabrelodge

What a great cache,we took the geo grand parents for this one and on the way back had a picnic at telegraph point. The swimming hole looked really enticing. We took cap and little torch and left tats and stickers as well as toy binoculars.

The site is unfortunately as others said littered by thoughtless visitors, I wish we had gloves and bags with us as I would have cleaned up at least part of it, maybe someone else can CITO.

Welcome BaileyTeam to geochaching this was their first cache. Pretty awesome first cache for them.

(BaileyTeam means they didn't sign the log, but we mentioned them in our log)

Found at 11.10am GAFF1. We loved the drive through the rich green country - even the farmers were motivated to do some work on their properties on such a lovely day as we saw a couple actually finally slashing the 2 metre grass around their properties - now there is a sight!
We were expecting a lot more from the swimming hole than what we found and we actually brought along our "swimmers" (is that what you NSW's call bathers?). However when we got to the general area, the lack of grass and the rubbish somehow diminished our desire to go for a swim - even though the water looked very inviting indeed!
This swimming hole must have been very popular a few years ago judging by the terraces along the slope and the remnants of the facilities that we could see.
Thanks lightsaberlodge - another great cache and one that the "large is better" brigade will love!

Found it at 11:25 about 5 minutes after pprass left as we passed him on the way out, I was hoping for a FTF but i was just a little late Congratulations to him. We haven't been here for years as closing Slippery rock camping area Forced us to find another area to camp. Unfortunatly they closed this camping ground because of antisocial behavior of a few idiots, they don't seem to have learnt there lesson given the amount of rubbish left near the Pot of gold. But it is still a magnificent swimming hole and well worth the visit.
We grabbed this cache then went exploring along Bobs creek road and eventually meeting friends at Cobrabald where we spent the night.
Took T-Shirt Left Mosquito Netting.
