Just to check whether this cache is still in place? The CO's have been inactive for a couple of years.
Looked around for half and hour before high tide with no luck. Hasn't been found since June so wondering if it needs some maintenance?
Attempted this one today unsuccessfully. I learnt some lessons here that I should have learnt previously! Take my water with me -don't leave it in the car!
Anyway I gave this one a good search today but couldn't find it. I then read that the last two finders both DNFed this cache so an owner check might be worthwhile though the walk is great.

No luck for us today. The first thing we saw at GZ was the tail of a snake heading into the bushes (perhaps the same snake as mentioned by the last visitor). We then somewhat hesitantly searched around but without a good clue opted to give it away. Nice spot and we certainly enjoyed the visit.
Dippa46 and I had a grand adventure, one we will remember. Didn't find the cache as a very large snake was sunbaking at GZ so caution prevailed and we beat a swift retreat. Views are amazing and we loved the little bay. Well worth the walk along the bush path. TFTC
My sister and I started off down the walk thinking this is going to be a tough one coming up again. Neither of us knew if it was high tide or not. Hmm could be going down here for nothing. Turns out the tide was highish but it could still be done says the encouraging big sister. I wasn't going to be put off by a bit of rock after coming all this way. I did the goat climb and came up with a smilie. Who would have thought I was part goat. Thanks for the adventure.
Found with Nyochi on our otways adventure, ok so as a quick confession we started down the walk together but after a bit we could see that this walk is not one I could complete due to how steep the path was which I would have had no hope coming back up again so I had no choice but to let my sister go and get the cache without me but I will still claim a find since I was the navigator! :p
Nice easy cache, had a good look at the little critters in the rock puddles, and passed some bush walkers on the way back. Tftc
Amazing view! Found with McWillid and dropped a TB. Awarded a favourite point. TFTC!
WoW - this is a great cache walk - worth every minute it takes to get there. Not the easiest to find as GZ seemed to keep moving - but just keep looking and it will reveal itself. My favourite location. TFTC
Got to the beach to find no reception so didn't even have a description to go by. Lovely spot anyway
Forgot to log this one from 21/1/15. Found it with the family after a long search. Was a very difficult find, keen eyes required. Most rewarding cache ive found so far thanks heaps!
Finally catching up on some old hides, after finding our original GPSr. This was a beautiful area to explore and we had a great day amongst the muggles. Had no trouble with the hide, thanks for bringing us here. TFTC the fab burkah boys
Shelly beach is well named and a fabulous walk to the beach. Pity about the hill climb back to the carpark. Phew! Climbed up and over the rocky platform to this cache. All in good nick. Took spider, left relax tea bag. TFTC the fab burkas boyz.
TFTH. This was a lovely walk to the cache, and a lovely spot at the cache location too. Perfect weather for it today. Was a exhausting walk back up hill on the way back to the car - but luckily only 1 km! Thank you for the effort in creating this cache. We saw a kangaroo or a wallaby walking down to the cache too! T: Nothing. L: Calling card. Hello from Western Australia. Princess_Leia & Han_Solo_
Had a bit of trouble with this one as we didn't fully read the description and hint before we got down, and as a result ran out of reception. Great spot though and fun climbing the rocks, found with @aleerenren
Great spot, had a bit of trouble due to no reception and not dulling reading the cache before we got there! Found with @aleerenren
Lots of wild surf but low tide made it all good including accessing the next beach. Cache in good condition. TNLN
If you find the right entry, it could be an easy find. If not...oh man, I can tell you...much harder than the way back to the car park. Anyway a very nice location and worth the struggle.

Nice walk to the Beach. Then after a bit searching we could find the Box. Really a great view from here. TftC!
Enjoyed the short walk to Shelly Beach with Katzenfreund8, who found this one. Tftc!
Found at 12:27. Nice walk down to this little cove but beware of snakes on the tracks. Did the circuit walk and saw one on the way down and then another on the way up - must have been my lucky day.
Wouldn't like to attempt this cache if the sea was up. TFTC. TNLN.

What a wonderful walk to a stunning location. Thanks the fab burkah boyz for leading us here. We are camping at Wye River and today it was time to find a few more caches in the area before we head home to the NE of the State. We saw a koala settling himself into a new source of food. We met a few other walkers trekking on the Great Ocean Walk, but Shelly Beach was largely deserted. The tide was out, the sun was out and we found an appropriate PT in the cache - perfect. SL at 3.38pm Took: PT Left: Mandurah racer TB - we figure we have helped further his journey in a westerly direction. #1939 TFTC - time to head back to our camp.
Found on our "Making Memories" Tour of mainland Australia.
A pleasant walk to GZ on a well maintained track. A scramble over the rocks to GZ and a quick find. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache. Left our signature pathtag.

Second DNF of the day, but this is a great spot so I'm sure we'll be back to try again.

On our way down to Nelson we camped at Apollo Bay and went for the Shelly Beach trail. Beautiful view and weather and the way back on low tide, was just amazing. Finished up with the cache, was fun. Thanks and regards from Switzerland.
Vielen Dank fuers Herlocken!
Loved it! It combined Geo Jo's passion for rock pool exploration with the challenge of finding a cache. Poor Geo Keo got a bit tired though.
Between the contant stream of muggles wandering by, one of the keen eyed geo kids found the cache well hidden.. Nice spot, TFTC Burkah boyz
I had an hour to kill before the geowife was ready, so i decide to go and pick up a few close caches. I only had a quick read of the description and probably didnt really prepare myself for this one. Only having an hour to enjoy this and get back to town was a challenge, but i did make it although exhausted by the time I got back to the car. Still it is a great location and I would have liked to do some more exploring while down at the beach. This will be definately one i'll come back to.
Thanks for showing me today.

This was certainly a worthwhile walk.
The Otways lived up to its reputation as the wettest area in the state today.
Down, down, down was the wet and muddy walk.
All of a sudden between the trees the beach appeared.
I walked across the rocks and up to a likely GZ.
Spotted a cray pot in the bush then the cache.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Another nice walk into this one - through a variety of vegetation types. Then we had a scramble over the rocks to the cache. This one certainly deserved its 3 star terrain rating.
Found it on day three of a four day caching trip. No big numbers today but some great walks and amazing views to find caches. This one didn't disapoint with a nice walk through to a very secluded little area. The forests and the beach reminded me strongly of the images from the childrens book 'Where the Forest Meets the Sea'. I only hope that this area never ends up suffering like the forest in the book does. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC.
Lots of wet and muddy underfoot but the tides were in alignment and after a bit of scrabbling around we found the cache. The shells that the beach was named for were absent today but the waves were awesome as they smashed against the rocks. TFTC
We bypassed this one yesterday, I'm not sure the reason, but came back to do it today on our way back to Melbourne. Although I have walked along the GOW past here a couple of times, I had never ventured down to look at the beach. What a spectacular view! Thanks for showing it to us. We love this part of the coast. Thanks for the cache.
Found the cache after a nice walk along the Great Ocean Walk and discovered the Caravan TB. Greetings from Germany TFTC

Found on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Dropped off Caravan travel bug and took Lion travel bug.
Beautiful spot, thanks for bringing us here.

Visiting from the UK with my brother, not the best day for this one as heavy rain overnight, then we find the tide in as we arrive at the beach. Not one to be beaten, my brother scrambled over the rocks to get the cache. Enjoyed the walk down, great views, left one TB, logged another through. Thanks for the hide
Found after a fantastic hike down past the elliot river falls and then along the foreshore. Very beautiful cliffs and rock formations.
Made a hard find of it too :/
I found the old cray pot. I found the old car battery. I found the PVC pipe....
Eventually I found the hide.
Made my way back up the trail this time via the (un)shelly beach trail.
The 2km's or so in the loop certainly felt a hell of a lot longer!

thanks for a lovely walk to this cache. lots of down on the way made for lots of up going back. TFTC
Found today with Mrs 1SR at 1430. A nice walk in following the directions. An easy find after letting the GPS settle. We dedcided to rock hop, due to it being low tide, and find the path at Elliot River to come out. A nice walk out taking our time.

The walk down to the cache was much longer, steeper and muddier than expected, but a nice walk none the less. Shelly beach was more of a shelless beach but the rock formations were interesting.
Grabbed the rather large TB (hope I can find a suitable home) and info for the virtual cache next door.
Thanks for bringing us here

a 15min wet and soggy walk down to the beach....scrambled around the rocks to find the cache....went up to walk back and saw the sign, 25min back up to the carpark.
decided it was high time i got some exercise so i decided that after work today i would go have a look for this cache. well it was a really nice cool evening and i really enjoyed my jog/walk down to the beach. after a bit of looking (looks like im a bit rusty finding caches) cache was found and log signed, i also doped off a TB i found in my car. after a walk/jog back to my car and a short drive home i am now completely stuffed. thanks for the cache and for making me get some exercise .
This was a beautiful spot and it sure gave us a workout! We are still recovering but there are so many more caches to find! TFTH
Well! Wasn't this cache a bit of fun? Thoroughly enjoyed walking the beautiful track from the carpark to the beach and even the walk back up which, for one brief moment, I thought I might not even have to make. I'm glad I did though! I found the cache easily enough then turned to walk back the way I'd come. I took a couple of steps on the rocks then something made me look down. There was the most beautifully coloured tiger snake, about a meter long, coiled and with its neck flattened, ready to strike, about half a step in front of me. I must have inadvertently passed it on the way in and stirred it up because now, it wasn't at all happy and was all ready to have a piece of me if I came any closer. Needless to say, I apologised for disturbing it and took a slow, measured pace back from it and made my retreat. The last place you'ld want to get bitten. No phone signal, no-one around and a 900m uphill walk back to the car. I love seeing wildlife when I'm caching but some surprise encounters such as these, although exciting, are possibly best done without. Great place for a cache. Been here several times in the past but it's always nice to come back. Thanks a lot for a memorable experience.
My last cache for the day. A very pleasant walk down to the beach and back, although I was glad that it wasn't hotter. Cache was found without any trouble, thanks.
Trotz Hilfe bei der Suche nicht gefunden. Aber einen wunderschönen Küstenabschnitt dafür gefunden.

Down this way for a few days and this is the first cache we have located. The tide was low and this made for an easy find along with good co-ords. NI-NO and thanks for showing this lovely spot.
We're on a trip around the world, now for 3 months in Australia. Today we drove from Cape Otway to Kennett River. This walk was the highlight of our day, very beautiful, I really loved the tidepooles with the colourful seastars. Saw a dead pinguin lying on the beach and on our way back a koala very close to the path! We think this is one of our favourites, so we will give you the point. Thanks for showing this great place. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Whauw, what a great place. We were lucky, because you can only search for this cache at low tide. Otherwise we think it is too dangerous. Despite, we also had some big waves from the sea.....
Thank you for showing us this place. We swapped a pathtag coin from Moneybox.

FTF, wow. After seeing this was published 5 days ago we really didn't expect to find a blank page. Well...blow me over with a feather and tickle me pink!!...there it was. A good trek fairly late in the day and a find in a place that is good for the cache hide but actually not too good a spot as far as the vegetation is concerned. Had to trample a bit of the bush so could possibly have been hidden in a rock crevice somewhere instead. The place is fabulous though and we had a ball looking around and checking out the rockpools. Love those rocks. The ranger and a a group were critter spotting when we got back so had a good chat to him about the place. Took a Buddah and worry doll and left a large magnetic building game and a personal pathtag. TFTC and TFTFTF
