There are a few impressive stumps nearby. Found this by torchlight. The log is about damp, unsurprisingly with this year's weather, but still signable. Thanks The Estreich Clan.

An afternoon of Covid safe geocaching in my LGA. The plan was to go to Mitchell park and on my way up there I passed this cache.
I was quite a challenge to get my fingers to grab this well hidden container. But wedged between my pinkies, I managed to get it out and do signing duties.

That was harder to get out than I was expecting. I do not like spiderwebs but I persevered. Geohubby is mean TFTC
Found on 6/9/2020. Can't remember why I didn't log this. Spending the morning logging all my forgotten finds.
Thanks for the cache!!
Thanks for the cache!!
We parked very close to GZ and I walked over to retrieve the cache, but it was not easy to remove from its hidey hole. There is a fig tree starting to grow from the base of the nearby eucalyptus, but not sure if I saw any epiphytes though, maybe they have died in the drought. Thanks to The Estreich Clan for the hide.
Decided to pick up this cache on the way home from a mate's place. The streak goes on! Used one finger on each hand like pincers to extract the container. Signed log and replaced as found. TFTC.
I know why this area is called Box Hill: there are clusters of little box houses popping up all over this place that once was rather rural. Despite all the space, developers are maximising the number of dwellings on the small patches of land they are developing.
So I was cycling up this hill, heading back to Castle Hill (no castles there, though), when I thought I ought to be near to this cache by now. I had to stop and get the GPSr out of my backpack, and there I noticed that I had already passed GZ. So I turned back and made my way over to where the compass was pointing.
A quick check around, and soon I espied the container. Seeing it was one thing, grabbing it was quite another. I have to admit I don't really have green fingers, or is that a green thumb (depending on the metaphor and where you come from). I'm ok with succulents and trees -- other plants don't tend to do well under my care. Anyway, green fingers or not, I think I would have really needed long fingers, although that metaphor again means something else entirely, and isn't flattering. Suffice to say, I made a plan to get my grubby mitts on the container so that I could add my name to the list of those who had come before me. Not sure whether I noticed a pencil, but a good cacher always has a pen, anyway.
Once the container was safely back where I had found it, it was time to get the pedal power going so that I could get home in time to prepare a bbq for the family for dinner.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and muggle daughter and boyfriend. This was close-by to where we were staying so of course we had to find it. TFTC
Quick find with my Grandson - Microchip.

Drove off the main road and up to this cache. Circled GZ a couple of times before we saw the container. Had a bit of problem to extract it from its hidey hole, but with the help of a natural TOTT it got sorted.
tftc. Quick find on my way out to Windsor. stopped off and went exploring. before long i had cache in hand signed and returned to continue my journey
We are travelling from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Vineyard for a short three day caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Avina Caravan Park, and planning on exploring the areas around Vineyard, McGraths Hill, Mulgrave, Windsor, Wilberforce, and Ebenezer. And being the final weekend of the Cache Carnival (ends Monday) we will be looking to maximise our score on the Friends Leaderboard. This was our 12th find of the day, and of the holiday.
A nice quick “park & grab” as we were driving past. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. No signs of any activity at the Box Hill Bush Fire Brigade today. TFTC The Estreich Clan.

After finding a new multi in the Dural area, we continued on our drive in today's beautiful weather to give this one a go. The cache title suggested where to look but Mr MR found it well hidden a couple of metres away. SL TFTC
I struggled to remove the cache, which was well lodged in its hidey-hole. We were second to sign the new log kindly dropped in by Sensible Shoes.
Thanks The Estreich Clan.

Quick find on a sunny Sunday. Added a new log sheet - old was full and a bit crumbly. TFTC
#2139 grrr on my way to the CITO took a detour to go passed this cache pulled over about 30m from GZ and walked up and found the cache straight away. Then the grrr moment with fat fings had to find a suitable tott to assist. With numerous ones around grabbed the nearest I would get the cache to the surface, but with the tott being round one touch and it would fall off. Took six goes till I got to grab it.
As Sicad wrote in his log the log is full and damp and difficult to write on. Found a small spot near sicad & signed as phl in red pen. Didn't have any paper with me to replace the current log. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache The Estreich Clan

Parked right next to it and found with no problem. The problem was extracting it from the hiding place! Eventually I managed to have it out and in hand. Log signed. Onto the next!! TFTC!
Cycled Carbon to here this morning. Nice find but hard to get out. Then morning tea in the warming sun.
Nice cache! Although we were slightly worried by the 24-hour surveillance cameras - maybe they were trained on the fire station … Thanks!

I was working in Sydney this week, so I've taken to opportunity to spend the weekend and grab a few caches that I desperately needed for various geo-challenges. It was pretty warm by Canberra standards & I sweated here today. The car was saying 20C (is it winter ?) and in the bush land the humidity was up. All in all, a satisfying result. Only one DNF and I had to give up eventually due to fading light.
Not really a root.

After a DNF along Boundary Rd I was glad to get this quick park and grab. Pulled up only 10m away and spotted the hint, camo and cache straight away. Good to see some recycled garden equipment put to use. TFTC
#3544 (8 of 8 today)
After a day off from caching I decided to make a few grabs north of home. Went for 8 and found 8 around Windsor / Pitt Town. Such a nice area.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Final find of the day.
Well, this one could have taken ages. Luckily I looked in the right spot almost immediately - makes up for one or two other finds today..
Completed signing duties and replaced. Log a little the worse for wear but still signable.
Couldn't spot the epiphyte though...
Time to turn *The Hademobile* for home.

I'm spending the day at an eisteddfod in Windsor, and decided to duck out of the afternoon session, when all of the groups from our dance studio had finished, to look for a cache. This was the closest one.
Quick find, but I have an idea that the container is not where it was originally placed, as the current hide matched neither the cache name nor the hint. There is a spot which matches both about a metre away. The Imp (still in a contemporary dance costume, Monkey Girl & I all signed the log, then put the container back where we found it.
We considered another cache before returning for the evening session, but the terrain lookeda bit high for our outfits at the next few caches. One will do
Thanks

I must admit that I say the name of this cache on the map and had to find out what it meant. Consulting Wikipedia I found the following definition:
"An epiphyte is a plant that grows harmlessly upon another plant (such as a tree) and derives its moisture and nutrients from the air, rain, and sometimes from debris accumulating around it. Epiphytes differ from parasites in that epiphytes grow on other plants for physical support and do not necessarily negatively affect the host"
Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphyte
...so driving past this morning with JJCC on the way to visit family friends just down the road, we pulled into the service road and drove up close. Approaching GZ we immediately noticed the Epiphyte in the form of the smallish fig attached to the ironbark tree. Noticing several possible hide locations straight away we searched these spots only to come away with no find. Widening our search area slightly we noticed another possible location, but again a no find. Taking off our caching blindness googles we then found the cache basically out in the open with a smallish log just covering the container. We both signed the log and replaced the cache were found although we did cover with a larger piece of wood.
Given the name of the cache and the other locations found, we suspect the cache is not were the CO originally hide it. So if the CO is passing maybe a check on the hide location would be in order. Otherwise cache container and log are in relatively good condition. TFTC The Estreich Clan

With Team Merlin in the vicinity of the cache Epiphyte to try our luck. With coordinates in hand we approached the GZ. Parking near by we noticed the Epiphyte. With several likely hides near but no luck on widening the search we found another possibility and we were not disappointed. With cache in hand soon after. We both signed the log and replaced the cache as found replacing natural camo to ensure its hidden location. Both log and cache container are in good condition.

At the moment I'm on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. Most of the first two years I'll spend in Australia and I'm trying to solve my 365 days of caching challenge during this trip. The chance of having a moving home zone should be taken, as it will make the challenge so much easier.
This one was a quick and easy find.

Easy find at night, log soaked added a new one but expect the same to happen. Left old logs inside. Interesting container.
A quick find on the way to work. Found the cache in the open. Log was a bit damp, but i managed to leave my mark on it before putting it back in a likely hiding spot.

found after rooting around. An interesting cache design but not quite water proof, log to wet to sign so added a sheet of note paper to leave my monica. tftc, a favourite for the cache design
With an hour or so up my sleeve before I was due in Windsor this afternoon I did want any self respecting geocacher does in such circumstances ... collect a few smilies. I liked that I was able to pull well off the road for this one, which turned out to be a quick and easy find. Unfortunately, though, I was unable to sign the log sheet as it is a sodden mess and no longer usable.
Thanks for this cache Estreich Clan ... urgent maintenance is however required as the attached pic indicates.

Found the container sitting in a sizable pool of water and completely soaked, the log was wet and un-signable. Unfortunately the log needs replacing.
On the way out to Glenorie early Sunday morning to help some sick friends tidy up their garden, I decided to grab a few caches on the way. Wasn't sure how much luck I'd have with this cache due to difficulty rating and lack of time, however I drove right up to GZ and spotted the cache through the window even before I got out. Unfortunately the container was sitting in a sizable pool of water and completely soaked, the log was wet and un-signable. I relocated the cache to a slightly dryer, more concealed spot (possibly where it was supposed to be in the first place?) TFTC Estreich Clan!
The cache container was the first thing I saw, but dismissed it as some out-of-place piece of junk. Then I searched around from tree to tree, then looked at it again and realised that I have seen one like it before.
This was too close to the last one and as we were passing, why not. Was an easy find just laying on the ground but we think it went back to where it should be. Log all dry now.
