This was our second DNF for the day. We looked for a while, then moved on. Didn't try again on the way back as there were muggles nearby. My thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing it.
1 minute into this one and we found a snake Didn't stick around to find the cache...sorry!
Searched twice from when I walked both ways and still came up empty. Maybe next time!
A nice walk along the coast, not spoiled by having to the stop and hunt for caches. I may have spent too long looking for the 'first' one - "Holy George…", as it was 1200 when I found this one, GAFF1

One of my New Years weekend goals was to walk the George Bass Walking Track. What a magnificent stretch of coast! I had my head stuck in the bush when a young couple walked by. Had to tell them what I was doing, an then immediately came up with the goods. They got a very good introduction to GC and I would not be surprised if you see them at the next NY Event! Thanks for the adventure, Leesa!
While visiting the nearby Earthcache myself and LHE Duo decided to extend the walk a little and grab this one while we were here. Well the walk was a little more up then we were expecting but not to worry that was soon sorted. Getting a look near to GZ and soon had a cache in hand, our name on the log soon followed and all replaced before moving on.

#731 - Slowly on my way down to Inverloch for some coast caching over the long weekend. Couldn't resist stopping at some caches on the way down while getting a good chunk of a Wherigo done.
As I approached Phillip Island, I then had to decide what to do for the rest of the afternoon and I decided I felt like going for a walk! I parked the geo-mobile at the Punch Bowl carpark on Punch Bowl Road and walk until I felt like turning back. The Sun was out now and a cool breeze made the walk very enjoyable.
Quick find as the Sun was getting quite low in the sky!

After a bit of a scour and restart of Ao for better coords I found it all safe and sound. Lots of muggles walking the track, but I'm only doing a little bit of it . Thanks.
After a fruitless search at where our gps had GZ we broaden our search and found it a logical spot. Thanks. Silkyie
Did not find pine cone. Found cache among small leaves. Replaced pine cone with sticks. TFTC Gonefishen07.

We came to this one after coming up empty handed at the winch cache. This was another dead end as there was nothing around GZ, and on both sides of the trail. Nothing matched the clue, so we moved on. I'm guessing it has been muggled...
I didn't bring a pen with me today because I wasn't planning on geocaching, but I thought I'd see what I could find. Pencil in cache is blunt and I had nothing to sharpen it with but I tried my hardest anyway. TFTC
Lovely views along this walk and the geocaches encourage Bek (9) to walk that bit further so I don't have to turn back too quickly. Thanks.
Out with frmen1 who convinced me that it wasn't snake season lol Decked out in my gaiters, just in case, we set off to clear a few caches on this walk. The gps moved around a bit. Finally, found without any evidence of the hint. The log was slightly damp. TNLN TFTC...another for the Spread the Love Challenge
Impressive house views around here. Rock formations are bad either. Thanks for bringing us to see the arch. Tftc
We decided this might be our last George Bass cache for today. The weather conditions were an advantage because there were no muggles silly enough to be out walking on such a wet, windy day, but we were feeling like the wind was going to carry us out to sea. Love this walk, but we will do the rest on a pleasant day and bring a picnic to enjoy on the beach. Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07
It was a bit out in the open and I didn't find the pinecone (clue) but all looks in good condition. TFTC

Melbourne parties Friday noon and returned Tuesday morning in Melbourne. I came here to make different trail of caches in the area. It was intense few days with my bike but very nice! I could find caches with superb camouflage, very good ideas from the cachers. This log will be the same for all caches that I made (sorry) But I want to congratulate in particular:
Nut bear & BorisB & Natasha for "Bay Trail" and "Red Hill Express" (Beautiful cover!)
The Three Amigos Geo for "The Pathway"
Gonefishen07 for the great "Rail Trail"
As well as other geocacher who I discovered several caches during these few days.
Thank you very much

17:00: The find was quicker than pulling out the seeds from my shoes and socks! Great view though. TFTC.
We had found the cache and were signing the log when the Moose spotted a whale. So we spent some time watching it and a couple of joggers went past. A fantastic day for this, thanks for bringing us here.
Found on another fantastic TDC night. I appologise for the very late generic logs, I left for a trip to England shorhtlly after this night and have been playing catch up ever since. There were some fantastic, inventive hides in the area that I really appreciated. Thanks Gonefishen07 for the cache
Another fantastic TDC caching night in the Melbourne and down to the Wonthaggi area. A lot of caches found, including Keep It Moving. A night filled with laughs and good company. My appologies for the late and generic log, have had personal issues to deal with, and still sorting them out, so trying to catch up now. Thanks to all CO's for their hides.....
We had a great walk along this path. Thanks for the experience.
Thanks

On another very cold night the planned route for The Demolition Crew was into the Wonthaggi area to make a dent in the unfound caches int hat area. The trip started in teh eastern suburbs of Melbourne and took us south collecting some caches as we went. With lots of laughs, it was to our surprise that a well known D5/T5 moving cache had the co-ordinates updated in the area. It was then a mad dash in the middle of the night to sign that log, before we continued the planned route into the wee hours of the morning. These winter nights can be very cold, but at least this time it wasn't raining. Thanks to all the CO for placing and maintaining their caches. We had lots of fun finding and signing. Cheers TR.

This cache was found during todays TDC Monday cache run. Our plan for the run was to hit the Bass / Kilcunda region with the Bass walk high on the agenda. We started with a few new caches around the eastern suburbs and then made our way south down the Bass Hwy. The weather was good for us tonight and nowhere as wet or cold as on previous runs.
We all had a great night with plenty of laughs and a nice variety of caches found, including a well sort after international travelling cache. The Bass walk caches were a highlight for me and well worth the late night trek.
We parked in Seaview Street and then made our way to 'George and the Arch' before continuing on and caching our way to 'George on Top'. Under the light of an almost full moon we only had to use our torches really when searching for each cache. It was about an 8km return trip trek and even though it was night time, the views were still fantastic as we could see from the light of the moon. A personal accomplishment for me too as tonight I also completed the caches along the George Bass walk. TFTC.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed the caches we found tonight.

Found at 14:50. More spectacular views took our eyes off it for a short moment to locate the cache, while signing the log wondered how the numerous fishermen on the rocks below got down there. Thanks
Found it! A quick find whilst on a Walkabouter's walk along the Bass Coastal Trail to Killcunda and back. TFTC SL
On the way home decided to catch some fresh air and walk along to grab the two caches on the western side of Kilcunda.
Walked around and up the hill to make the discovery, took some pics of the point near Kilcunda, great views!!
Thanks for the cache.

Lovely day for a walk, when cache searching just had to try to avoid all the muggle walkers also enjoying the path. Found this one without too much difficulty, mostly because all its leaf cover was missing (might be worth trying to glue some on). I tried to cover it when replaced but not sure if the cover will stay.

Even after a morning rail trail ride, there were still quite a few green boxes to be opened on our map. We had been to this area about 12 months ago but did not have time for anything on the George Bass walk.
There were not many people about and we made the find quite safely.

Well today the weather was ideal for completing the Bass Coast walk which I had started a few weeks back from the San Remo end but only walked the first 3.5km as I had not originally planned to do the walk on that day. As the weather was thankfully a nice 20 degrees with a light southerly which made the conditions ideal to finally complete this walk along this spectacular coastline. Walk to George on the Beach and then back to Kilcunda for lunch, a nice overall 7km ish walk today.
It took a little searching to finally have this one in hand. Once I allowed the GPS to settle found the coordinates to be very good. Did use the hint and will say that part of the hint is missing, a fun hunt still. TFTC Gonefishen07, great views from GZ today

Out on a walk with Pprass, 3UP and &others. In the race to get to the cache Mr Squalid was champion. The rest of us enjoyed the views. Thanks for the cache.
Found at 2:16:08 PM GAFF5 in the company of Squalid, 3up, &others. We were the first to search GZ and missed the "indicator" - I think we are better at sneaky difficult hides in a stick than a plain "there it is" type of hide.

Found by edmil and Todd, Maddie there in spirit, well hopefully she was waiting for us with a coldy in hand for us when we arrived back at the caravan park in Kilcunda. This was to be our last cache on the trail as we had done a couple of caches earlier on. We arrived at GZ and thankfully not a muggle in sight. We were down on hands and knees in the long grass, must have looked a sight, all of a sudden we heard watch out for muggles, we looked up two guys were approaching GZ. Unfortunately can't remember the caching names, delirious from the walk I think. Anyway we combined forces and one of the guys came up with the goods. Log was signed and cache replaced. Ah so good to have the last one done. We continued along the trail and into Kilcunda which was still some distance away. As we approached Shelley beach the smell of barbecue was wafting up the path - oh so cruel. Well not too far before we would be back and a cold one in hand. Well a coldy was sort of waiting but only after we asked for it. It was then off for a nice shower and then for some serious relaxing. Thanks for the cache series along trail. It is really a great walk, though better done in the cool of the morning I reckon, the views really are spectacular and a couple of the beaches would be fantastic for a bit of surf fishing or just a dip - just a pity you have to walk so far to get to them.
Found with Hawke84 after a mornings fishing nearby.
Came across fellow cachers for the first time!
Good to see others enjoying the area.

Ninth of a dozen on a grand day out caching with Robmc ... in locations I've had in mind for caches for a while now ... Gonefishen07 you're a lot more pro-active than I am!
This was a great walk even without caches, now it's even more rewarding, thanks for bringing us here again on such a beautiful day.
As we approached this one Robmc made some comment about the arch ... "what arch?" I thought and very foolishly asked ... he'd just about stopped laughing at me by the time we reached GZ, he'd found the cache, and we moved on down the track to admire a rock formation that I had to admit was very arch-like. Don't know how I'd managed to miss it before!

It is a bit funny, found a lot of pine cones on this walk, but haven't seen many pine trees! Must be those big sea birds bringing them in.
Great spot the arch, I have taken many a photo of it. The amusing part is that the person who I was walking with (who shall remain nameless!), who is a local, and had walked this path before, didn't know it was there!
After handing out a lot of crap, we walked around the other side for the other view.
Thanks, Robmc.

I recently did London Arch, which used to be London Bridge, and so I wondered how long it will before before the Arch becomes the Pillar? A while from the looks of it. Gonefishen07 you appear to have mastered the art of creating a caching hide where there is nowhere to hide a cache! Well done and thanks.
Checked this one today it is still their you just need to look a little harder.
No find here gave it a good old once over but was out of luck maybe the thought of the walk back 6kms via the path Thanks for the walk Gonefishen07... i'll be back...

Getting toward the end of the long walk now. My fist failure I'm afraid. Maybe if I hadn't been so tired and hot I would have had more luck.
Lots of places to look however, and the hint was obvious, but no help.
Given the time cachers are likely to spend here looking for this, I suspect they are going to be spotted eventually.
Thanks anyway Gonefishen07 - It's been a great walk, but please, more useful hints.

came to gz @ about 8pm just after finding killi winch micro and running into a pair of muggles who where pretty inquisitive but seemed harmless enough, found a screwed up piece of paper that said "found at 7am, oak"... and after an extensive search came up empty handed. on our return to the car we found two large men looking in and around our car, turned out they where from some sort of official ocean watch security and where suspicious about illegal abalone diving. we had to explain to them what we where doing there and then they became relaxed and told us they saw some kind of weird item hanging out of the car door key hole. turned out it was a small ftf geocoin reward!
so, i am thinking this cache in this great location may have been subject to misunderstood public activity and upon understanding the "mugglers" decided to repent somewhat. or maybe someone simply dropped the coin and these strangers picked it up and found a place for it.
either way.. can i hope this cache can live on because it's an awesome locaion.
oh, just to make sure.. the tracking number is:6482547
thank you very much for the great location.

As soon as I saw this series of caches I thought this is my kind of series, I Just love caches that involve a bit of effort to get to GZ.
Knowing that the first to find hounds would be straight on to these ones, decided to leave for a not so busy day and treat it as a training walk for an up and coming hike up the legendary Helicopter spur near Mt Howitt. So the night before I packed my rucksack with a full kit for an over night alpine hike. I had planned to start at Kilcunda end and walk to the Punch bowel and return, so opted for an early start arriving at carpark at around 6.15am.
Made good time to this cache but spent quite a bit of time searching for this well hid cache, just catching sight of it as I circled around GZ
Signed log and returned cache before admiring the incredible views of the Arch
Thx Gonefishing for a cache in another fantastic location

The previous log sounds suspiciously like a couple of FTF hounds I know having a good laugh. , I’m wondering if one of them had a smile like this
*FTF* with Spladem. After a bunch of new caches got published we headed out to see what we could get. We arrived at the car park to find another car in hte car park. Not sure if it was FTF competition or not we quickly got out of the car and started walking to GZ. We noticed some walkers going the same direction as us and they walked right passed GZ. We started our search and shortly had the cache in hand. Yet another find cache along this great walking track. Thanks Gonefishen07.
