When I was here in the past, I was never quite sure where to jump off the beach. It didn't really matter since it was high enough to prevent me from going to the island.Today the tide was at its low point, so I could clearly see where to enter and how to get to GZ. I stayed relatively mud free until I was leaving and then on bad step up that little embankment and everything has to go into the wash. TFTC.
Thankyou to the last person who mentioned where they put it, it really helped! Great cache thankyou!
That was an adventure. Back to the campsite and tide was out so wellies on and off for a walk. Thought I would try a short cut. Mistake!! As the mud got to the top of my wellies and I couldn't move. Feet out and pull them out by hand and throw to shallow mud. Washed myself in the channel then went the long way around.
Could not find hint item so widening search. Spotted something in some trash, bingo. Wasn't sure where it should be so wedged tight above ground. Now to get back again.
Third pair of socks today. Better luck tomorrow I hope.

It's mud caching for me today and I've been wanting to find this one for a while. A low tide walk and what's with dive bombing birds out here?! I've had run in's with Magpies and bush turkeys in Australia but this is a first for me with a grumpy bird in NZ. Still it added to the adventure and of course, it cements the memory of this cache. Quick find at GZ and then it's back to face the wrath of the birds...have a favourite point. Thanks beltfamily, your cache is in good condition.
Back to caching finally, SJT_NZ & I started with some local spots just to get back in the groove, this a quick find, few people out and about enjoying the day.
Bit overcast today so headed into Motueka to clear up some of the caches we missed or new ones placed since we were last here, 8 years ago.
Luckily tide was out for us today for a muddy but easy enough walk to gz.

Team Mitchell found it! Very clever and awesome for the kids. An after dinner activity. Thank you for the cache
Another of those "Where would I put it?" - and there it was. All in good order. Signed log and replaced as found. Hint item replaced.
Tricky! A pretty difficult find which made it very rewarding. AWESOME cache. Thanks
Very cool cache, it took me a while to find it, was confused about the title and the terrain score XD. A very nice place, TFTC
We looked at this one a couple of weeks ago, and while walking towards GZ we decided that the tide was too far in and chances of getting to GZ without swimming was slim. So we have waited until today when it was a very low tide - getting to GZ was surprisingly easy and pretty much mud free.
We were concerned that it may have gone in the cyclones as many of the coastal caches were worse for wear. Then came the tricky bit - we searched every nook and cranny that we could see, I ended up making contact with a previous finder who guided us to where the cache should be.
We put a replacement cache here so that others can continue to have the experience of finding this one. It will be somewhere we look at every time we pass.
Thanks for the reason to come on this wee adventure.

This was the cache to get for the day while cycling around Motueka. I had visited a few years ago for this one but failed to find it.Today the planned route brought me here at low tide and so crossing to the island was a breeze. There was a lot more debris around but after 20 minutes of hunting was still none the wiser. Eventually standing at a spot I looked around and happened to spy the cache that for the most part had been concealed from view. A great sigh of relief indeed. Tftc.
Taybeedragon and I are in the Nelson region collecting multis - I need one each day for a multi-cache streak challenge I am aiming for. Today is day 10, challenge requirements complete YAY!. And as we are still here, let's do some more!
I wasn't actually intending to do this cache, but the tide was out and I saw a causeway... Okay, let's do it! The start of the causeway is REALLY slippery, there is a small gap near the end with a kotuku acting as gatekeeper. I was expecting the gap to be mud, but no! Stepping stones! The kotuku flew off happy with our toll, and we entered Lone Pine Island. The lioghtfooted dragon got there fine, but I managed to find the sole boggy bit and got a shoe half covered in gunk. The cache was an easy find, and another activity that ticks my boxes. I dropped in an emerals, a path tag and a favourite.
Managed to get back without getting re-gunked, and that ticked off probably the easiest island cache ever (which is probably why the T rating is so low).
Loved it. Thanks, BeltFamily!

The Seagnoid needs a couple of multis this weekend. Its early Saturday morning and we are off for another adventure to Tasman, with The Seagnoid and Zara. Its another early start in the dark on Sunday morning collecting info.
The Seagnoid says STOP! So we stop. There is an island out there but the tide is way out so maybe its a go. We are walking along the causeway and it gets a bit slippery and a kotuku is standing guard over there - how much water will be flowing. None as it happens and large stepping stones to assist us. Reach the tree for a snag and tag with the assistance of the Seagnoid. The Kotuku is back on guard on the return trip. Cheers.

In Motueka this morning and tide right out so great time to make the grab. Feet all dry and cache quickly in hand. Thanks for the cache.
The tide was out by chance so I decided that it wasn't far out to the pine tree on the island. went on the wrong route there as I soon realised that there was a muddy free path along the rocks. this was a brilliant placement. the litter out here though is a bit sad as all sorts of items must drift onto the island. Find #291
Found today with geosister a cautious walk at low tide. Collected a birdsnest of left behind fishing line, no good for curious birdlife. Great view. TFTC
When a caching trip after tea was suggested, we were lucky enough that the tide was out and made a great opportunity to hop over to this island and find the cache. No problems with access for us.
Tide right out so thought I could take the direct path to the island... ha! Almost lost my gumboots and had flashes of worry about getting stuck as the winter sun sets. Backed up and took the way I knew I was supposed to.
Then poked around a little while before finally looking right at the cache.
Love the name, love the hide, thanks very much!

The terraine was much more difficult than we expected but we managed to get to the cache, find it and get it back in place. We met a friendly man near the cache site who turned out to be a relative of a geocaching friend. Small world.

In the early morning hours it was low tide so there were no problems getting to the "island". A lots of birds didn´t seem to like my visit, but since it was an easy find I didn´t stay very long.
Greets from Sweden!
Tack och bock!

I was very lucky. When we arrived here was low tide. After a long search, I discovered the can.

#9465. We decided to knock off a few more 'muddy' caches this afternoon. We had intended parking near SH60, but when we drove up towards the marina the direct route looked pretty good, and it proved to be a good option. At GZ we initially saw no sign of the cache. Looked a bit, then read some past logs, the looked a bit more, and caught a glimpse of the cache snug in its hiding place. TFTC.
We obviously haven't been in the area at low tide because we were astonished to see a dry path to the island had magically appeared . Just one tricky and muddy bit, but managed to stay upright despite slipping. Much better than wading through mud flats as we had expected to do.
Cache wasn't an instant find, but StreetWalker tracked it down in the end. Terrain rating a tad misleading. Thanks for the adventure and thanks for the cache.

Passing, and realized , if we were quick, we could nab this before the tide beat us.
Worker did the honours at GZ.
Thanks beltfamily....a good spot.

We had looked at the options for getting to GZ when passing previously so tonight we had bought suitable footwear. Our timing couldn't have been better, the only care required was crossing "sidewaze's path", the rest was straight forward and the whole walk could have been achieved in jandals and kept our feet dry. TFTC.
The logistics had been researched. Just the timing needed to be planned. Tonight was perfect and a smilie was achieved without even getting my feet wet. TFTC
Well i think the T rating needs to go up for my visit. On the way out to GZ i was so busy entering the details of the last cache into my phone that i didn't see a slippery drop in the terrain, feet slipped out from underneath me and i slid down, unhurt except for the mud on the backside [:o)] . On the way back you'd think i would have learnt but no ... still on phone this time put foot in bog half way up my calf, luckily not on my own otherwise might have been struggling to get out. Now back in the car smelling a little fishy [xx(] Cache was found quickly TFTC

Well, what are the chances of that happening?!? Approaching GZ I discovered what had happened to my old concrete path. So pleased the bits have been placed stones up so my handiwork can be admired!!! We approached this cache one other day but decided there was too much water for a comfortable crossing. Today was much better. At GZ we couldn't find any out of place stones but when we replaced the cache we put a stone beside it just for fun. Thanks for the adventure .
Yep, this was the day to go get this one. Low, low tide, so had a walk that didn't involve wet feet or mud. I did find the birds a bit disconcerting thought with all their squawking, diving around and broken wing diversions in case we went near nests or chicks. We were very careful and didn't see any of either so assume we took the right path to GZ. Reading previous logs helped with locating the cache. It was a great evening to be out and about. TFTC
Makka pakka 2 was out today. Just driving past thinking can I, I had the time the tide was right TFTC
Many a time I have passed this cache and it has been a terrain 5. Today was the day when terrain 1.5 was the order of the day Very pleased to spot my first Royal Spoonbills on my way to GZ too. A big highlight.

Plan this trip well! Tide was just coming back wenn we found the cache so we made our boots very dirty while going back! But it was a lot of fun to run away from the water thank you for this special cache!
Conditions were right to get this one today..Feet were already muddy from the Janie Seddon so decided to add to it a bit more. Thanks.
Magnificent. Tide was in our favour so could cycle right up close. Great way to have a closer look than previously at the area. GZ nearly had us foxed but we got it!
What fun. We set off on our bikes and soon spotted our destination but couldn't see how to get there. Cycled around and about and there was a way. Better still the tide was in our favour. Wandercat ditched her bike and walked the final stretch but ajbenn kept right on riding up to the porcupine! The GPS was a little touchy so wandercat decided to get a birds eye view of the area and immediately spotted a odd bird. We really enjoyed this mission.....and the start of a love affair with beltfamily challenges.
Managed to get over an hour before low tide. A bit sticky under foot, but ok. Terrain rating had us fooled for a start but didn't take long to spy the hint. TFTC

Nice walk after lunch, and an easy find once we looked in the right direction.

The tides were right for some Island hopping #3 of 3.
Oops, made a false start on this. Back tracked then used the high and dry route.
Scratch my head for a bit, then all was revealed.

My favourite cache of the day. Timed it right when got there. Nearly gave up on it then spotted it
Managed to make it out without loosing our gumboots. Hopefully will make it back! Cool cache well worth a visit. Thanks!
Went on a night mission after work with liquorboy09 at 7pm which was just before low tide. Got around to GZ without getting wet spend a bit of time looking around for the cache. Was using one and a half headlamps but finally got it after a while. Thanks heaps for the cache. Was a very fitting cache to be my 80th consecutive cache =)
Cool trip out with dazzaboi on a night mission.Found a the driest way possible. My shoes only found a few muddy patches but it was alot better than other routes taken by other geocachers.Got to GZ with one of our headlamps fading wich made the task in hand a little bit more difficult. This one had us stumped for awhile but we don't give up to early and dazzaboi soon spotted it.Clever hide Mr B then a quick drive home and my wife said that didn't take long.TFTC
Finally I was nearby at a low enough tide, got it! I love little adventures like this
We had sorted out a good route to this one on a previous visit to Motueka but the tide was wrong. Today the tide was right so we took the longer but dry route to GZ. Mrs Sobad was searching when Sobad said 'I wonder if...". And there it was. Thanks.
6829 Clever hide, almost gave up… emulated Tman421’s approach, but found a much easier way out. Nicely done, many thanks.
Took a pretty poor choice route to cache site - better one back. Had me stumped for quite a while, but then realised. SL TFTC
Parked and started wandering down an obvious approach when I stated lets go that way - Stretch0 in his infinite wisdom said no thats where the boats go through - thus we headed across the mud - they where white shoes!!! Got out to the island and found the cache quite quickly with Stretch0 doing the honours - for obvious reasons !! Then with out being to horrible to him I pointed out his error and we returned a "much"less muddy way !!!!!!! enjoyed the final cache for the day - werent expecting 34 today but it was a good days caching with out tooo many cross words !!!! thanks for the cache
Final cache for today and we had a wonderful time exploring all around It was so good that even without trying we completed over 30 caches in a day and now we have done that twice in not just one month but in under 1 week!! We finished off with a nice muddy stroll to this site and then came back the errr mmmmm cleaner way now lets say i am hearing a bit of 'I told you So "
TFTC and taking me out to this island

Brilliant. Looked in all not-obvious places then Mrs D searched in the only place left. Then a muddy squelch back to the long old road back to our camp site. Great cache, loved it!
Took advantage of a nicely timed low tide this morning. Had a muddy, splodgy trudge to GZ. A bit of a search before the cache hiding spot was spotted. TFTC, Biggles.
Tide was partly in so walked across the mudflats from rest area near the roundabout.Kids thought they had the cache fairly quickly when we got to GZ but it was not to be and took a bit of a search in the failing light before i put my hands on it,Nice hide and TFTC
No trouble getting to gz just happened to strike it right. Must get that md software upgrade for my adroid phone though it would help with these one's. TFTC.
Thanks Peter for the words of hope for us second to finders, FTF at nearly low tide
