This one's gone and as I am unlikely to find a similar "container" I won't be replacing it.
Paddle chick and I went out to get a few caches with paddle chicks help I thought I might be able to find it. I searched for ages with no luck could you please check it out . Thanks sidewaze
Very clever spot. Fell apart when we found it but managed to get it repaired by the friendly petrol station staff and put back in same spot
This cache is fantastic. I had seen this cache on the map & thought if I ever stop here, i'll find it. I managed to get it after dad filling up the car over the road. I was looking in every nook & cranny until I stood back & realised I was just looking stupid to all the passers by. Find #462
Out on my evening walk...decided to head for a row of caches not yet found. Of course I checked the wrong spots first but quickly found what I wanted. Tftc
Tregearp and I are working on a challenge that, as part of the requirements, requires that we completed five finds in one night – from at least one hour after sunset and not later than one hour before sunrise.
We did a little research and identified this part of the Rail Trail as a good candidate – 5 caches we hadn’t logged, off the main drag (well, for four out of five) and somewhere where torches wouldn’t be out of the way for muggles who might me observing yet unseen by us in the dark.
It was a successful mission. A couple of points from the experience as required for the challenge:
- Obviously harder to find stuff in the dark. For three of the five caches it wasn’t really an issue as they were almost immediate finds. For one, #3, it was a clever hide and had us tricked for sometime with a nearby location that is often used – got there in the end. The other one was road activity and not drawing unwanted attention.
- Also my Garmin GPS changed to night mode – something I’ll look into but really annoying as it used dimmed colours and illumination which is exactly not what we needed. I’m sure there’s a setting to be investigated!
We dragged OldTom1959 and Pine Cone Wanderer along with us who were somewhat bemused but in the end simply pleased to get back home and warm again.
This one was not so much difficult for the find, but stealth and plausible pedestrian activity in a low pedestrian area. Cache itself was a quick find having experienced similar previously, but nicely done all the same.
Thanks Sidewaze for the cache, and providing a cache that could form one part of our qualification toward a challenge.

While we have been on the rail trail often during the day, it was surprising how much I rely on daylight for successful geocaching. We had good torches and managed to even blind ourselves a couple of times when we ended up looking in similar areas. This was the first time I'd used my gps at night and now quite sure I had the settings correct but thankfully SJT_NZ was more familiar with his ones. A fun but challenging experience and another requirement ticked off.

I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is nine but I just might go over that number.
I was actually giving my cachemobile some lunch across the road so I nipped across and cracked this one.
Cheers for the cache.

Favourite from me. Well done. Got here on Easter Friday hoping for not much traffic. Had to wait for gaps in the traffic before I could make the grab. Quickly signed and off we went again.
Found this VERY clever cache today with the help of geosister and an interested muggle who may be a future geocacher! TFTC
Went for a wee bike ride after settling in to the camp ground. Nice to get some exercise. A nice subtle hide, deseving of a fav point. Cheers.
Time for a drive to Nelson. It has been a while since we have been this way and there are a few new caches!!
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Day 2 of a successful caching weekend for Jojo and I in Nelson. Weather not the greatest but the rain held off, and today we went a little more urban than cross country so we were able to keep dry. Very impressed with the engineering and ingenuity of the caches we have encountered, and we'll be giving up a fair few of our hard earned favourite points in recognition. 46 caches collected- some very specifically for challenges, and only a few DNFs. But the main thing is we had fun . Sorry about the cut and paste and thanks to all COs.
Clever hide, we were seriously about to give up until the a-ha moment hit. Well constructed cache, thanks Sidewaze.

Bacon and eggs and lashings of coffee saw us well prepared for today's adventures - we enjoyed this one, thanks.
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.

Very sneaky i love it. Very hard to search in between cars on this always busy road but for signed and replaced without looking too dodgy i hope

Having a great time hunting down caches in a load of different places.
Out on my bike today exploring the local tracks.
Thanks for your efforts in hiding your caches.

Thanks Sidewaze for placing the cache.
Thanks Sidewaze for placing the cache.
Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Found on our Westward journey to Westport

Great idea for a hide. Gets a Fav. Rather public for me, but others seem to relish being public.
Thanks, Sidewaze, Made a special trip over and found the correct one today, all legal now.
Sorry I missed you Wellwishers. I dropped by today to remove the second and hopefully last of the decoy caches. I really must remember that just because no-one can find a cache does NOT mean that it has gone . Wellwishers: what dedication, returning to sign the current log. - - Hope you enjoyed it .
Cache not where clue indicated, put back where we found it, no paper in cache, we replaced with new.
Wellwishers: I suspect that if the cache was not where the hint indicated, then what you found was not the cache. There's something else about what you say that doesn't add up either.
[green] Capperz, GH6710 and I are in Nelson for an event and to do a little caching on the side. While waiting for the event start time we worked this little power trail. Brilliant summer's day - got a little concerned that I had left the sunscreen and bandanna in the car, but it was okay, I didn't get burnt.
Finished the power trail, now have to walk back to the car, along the road - not quite as enjoyable as walking along the walkway. But there are caches! So it's still good

With a caching catch up event on in Nelson this afternoon I was invited along to join Capperz and The Seagnoid on a day's caching in the Nelson area. For once my other weekend plans didn't clash and I was able to tag along and get a few caches on the books. It's always nice to try out a new area and see the variety of different hides along the way. Great hide here, this picks up a favourite from me.

Today is a caching event in Nelson day. So today must also be a caching mission to Nelson day too!
Setting off early from our current homes at Woodbourne the Seagnoid and G H 6 7 1 0 were met at the breakfast hall for a quick feed prior to setting off 'over the hill'.
Meeting at 0630 and returning around 8 in the evening it was a big day all round for all concerned (is there any other way to have a Geocaching day, than big?)
This was one of the caches we did whilst carrying out a nice big loop walk in the beautiful hot sunshine on the Summers day. It was a quick and easy find and the well hidden cache was appreciated.
Nice hide and a great container. The best of this type I've seen

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.
This was it - one of the caches on our big day
Consec caching day # 702

For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
Today was to be our biggest day. S planned the route to cover the most possible easy to get P&G’s but we ended up not limiting ourselves to only those. D2.5? Why not? Let the brain have a bit of fun! D3? I am sure we can get there quickly!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!
Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

This will earn me my 'face-palm' souvenir; one of my unofficial 7 Souvenirs of August.
Once again, I looked everywhere - up things and under things - and then with one last, desperate search...
This might have started off as X for Breakfast, but it took me so long, I was lucky to get them for tea!
Thanks Sidewaze, now off to Over and Under

This time around the hide is different - - but hopefully no more difficult. Happy hunting .
Stopped for a look on the way to Hope. Somewhat hampered by the occassional visiting muggle, but no luck. No finds in 5 months. Is it gone or just hidden?
Day 14 of our NZ-Road Trip brought us up to Richmond.
We found some beautiful Caches and some nice spots.
Thanks to all the Owners for hiding and showing us some great Places.

We stopped here with rohada on the way through for a quick search. Only the letter x was missing from our alphabet. Now we have them all. Quick and easy to find.

Early in the morning but still heaps of traffic so became intensely interested in the gps until a lull. Thanks for yet another cache. http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_cool.gif
Before we left home in Greece and came to NZ we looked at doing some research into puzzle caches. We realised X was missing from our alphabet and this cache would fill the gap. We dashed to GZ today and found a very busy place but I think we managed to retrieve and replace before we were spotted. Thanks for the cache and our X.
Makka pakka 2 went out to day to see what he could find and look what he found TFTC.

We liked the cache location and are applauding you for finding all these alphabet locations. This is our 14th of the series. Thanks for the cache

Today I Went for the 100 caches in 1 day. With a very early morning and just breaking even at lunch time with 50, it looked like it was going to be 12am to 12pm. But after a move out of the city they started to speed up, and i managed to grab the last at 20:30 with 106!! Thanks everyone for the caches that they have placed, from the ones that have been planed for months to the park and grabs
Nice easy find on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Nelson. A cache that is leading by xample. TFTC
Out for some exercise combined with a few night caches so this one was on the menu. A quick find on a very busy highway but managed to do the deed between passing cars. TFTC.
The geo-gods smiled upon Holymu and me by making the rain stop and turning the evening rather pleasant for a small night cache run. The cache was soon in hand and log signed. It wasn't easy to go unnoticed along a busy road but think we managed OK. TFTC
#3519. Troodles spotted this one straight away (took longer to cross the busy road). TFTC.
Like the name and hide of this one. Reminds us of another in the series. Thanks.
