Too good for us. . I don't imagine it's gone as its a pretty remote part of the park so add us to the DNF list!
Searched today and nothing recovered. Could you please check to see if it is still in place?
When a cache gets this many favourites you know it's a goodie ... but that is the only way we know it is because we couldn't find it, despite searching both near the start of our morning's caching and then coming back near the end after having re-read all the logs.
No luck with this one, hope it was not at the base of the tree that recently came down. But we will be back.
Searched with ms 4 years for at least 20 mins to no avail - to sneaky a hide for me
We were rather stumped with this one for a while and then the junior dakotacat made a discovery. A sneaky hide indeed. TFTC
Water water everywhere but not a good idea to drink any of it ! The cache presented a challenge but the Dakotacats were up to it. Certainly need all the guile of a seasoned geocacher.
We looked high, we looked low but to no avail. First failure of the day. But wait! One last look by the ex sar person reveals the locale. Nice challenge!
Awesome hide, nearly beaten - after what seemed an age of looking & restless dogs, carried on only to return for 1 last look with fresh eyes. Thanks for the challenge.
Clever hide but quickly found. Tried here a while ago but less places to look this time as lots of under growth been cleared.
The ducks were pleased with the protection from hunters. The noise from the guns was very loud. TFTC
a popular saying by all south canterbury people when going to waimate. Enjoyed this cache in a fantastic park. NICE HIDE. TFTC.
My luck wasn't good today, didn't find just under half of what I set out to!
I wouldn't even think of drinking that!
Still I didn't find it. I was right beside it, I'm sure.
I have an old school G.P.S.-very inaccurate.
I'll try again! one day!

TFTC. It would appear to be very good advice about the water. We had a look for a few minutes, but having read the previous logs thought that we would locate the cache with a little perseverance. We did.
Found on a caching break down south with flobberworm! and purdiepurdie.

Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. Sneaky hide. TFTC
Ha, the title made sense when we got there! Found with Emvy_us on day six of our southern tiki tour while attending the Dunedin Mega. TFTC.
Found as part of the Gangsters- The Rats, Farmer Frentzen and Big Matt and Shell- as part of our NZ Mega Event Tour 2012.
We were sure not to! TFTC!

A quick find during our walk around this beautiful park.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.

Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.
Found this cache as part of the Gangster's Aussie assault on the first NZ Mega with Big Matt, FarmerFrenzten and steeba.
The gps had us all over the place here but the well hidden cache soon revealled itself.
Thanks

Our 6252nd overall find.
Found on the "Gangsters" NZ Mega 2012 trip with steeba, The Rats and Farmer Frentzen. I can promise we didn't drink anything.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache. Stats for our trip can be found here http://www.campersdownunder.com.au/geocaching/NZTrip/stats2.html

NZ12. I had to brave another soggy track side pull off, but this time there were three caches to be found. First was this one, and I tell you it was an easy hide to miss, so I am glad to have found it. Thanks.

Managed a first day DNF on this when it was published, quite determined to find it this time, and did. Very tricky.

Only DNF in all the wandering around the park which was a pity. Followed the arrow and numbers to where the GPS said here was here and then started to search. Looked in, under, up, behind and just about everywhere. Expanded the search area, still no luck. That camo must be a good one - to good for me to day. Thanks for the challenge.
Ohhhh! It's a good caching day today. Straight to this one too! . Tried a year and a half ago.
We both hunted around the place but no luck. Came back and had another short look but no joy by torchlight. Looks like it's a good one. TNLN Thanks
Some well fondled trees here! Finally found it. GPS settled quickly. No aroma today, and the ducks don't seem to care...TFTC TNLN SL

We were starting to get a bit parched but decided against it when we read the cache name....
And yes, it was a quick park and grab for us.

I was initially unsuccessful and knowing this was a Bitsprayer cache was starting to look seriously at an object that he had previously hidden a cache in in Oamaru. As I followed it looking for a loose end I noticed something else. Eureka!
DNF: Arriving at GZ and saw signs of searching all over the place and thought to myself that this was going to be interesting, decided to give it a couple of minutes as I was very limited on time, no joy here today as GPS was bouncing all over the place so decided to carry on to the next cache, maybe next time.
Nice quick find by Moneydork, luckily the nearby horsey event didn't extend out to GZ for this cache. Cheers Gav [7576]
I see that some notable recent hunters didn't manage to find this one.
I got it though. TFTC.

Had a half-hearted poke around in the dark with headlamps, but decided to leave it and move on. Cheers Gav
It took us over 20 minutes to find this very sneakily hidden cache. Our GPS readings varied a lot, but certainly were consistently within 3 or 4 metres of the cache. TFTC
Had bumped into Erninz earlier who had used some very colourful language describing the difficulty of this hide - but had been singuarly unforthcoming with hints. Had a reasonable fossick around but no joy.
Once again, searched thoroughly but couldn't find. Think we might need to sit back and wait for any hints
A bit behind erninz for a 2TF. Spent about 20 mins searching and decided to ring the owner. The response of which was that I wasn't looking hard enough and keep going! I established that the coords were accurate and after finishing the call checked my GPSr - 0m - I had to be standing on it..................... I was. Duh. Signs of furious searching in all the logical places. He's a bit of a rascal our Bitsprayer eh?
Having read the owners note last night that the cache was still there, I returned this morning, I thought I had worked hard last time but this time with a bit more work and thought, all was revealed and it was great to sign FTF.
Quite relieved I moved on and bought a drink on my way to the next, certainly preferable to sampling the supply close to the cache!
Thanks

Check to night my GPS was within 1m, can see were people have been looking close, but know one checked the right spot yet. it can't be seen.

A DNF is never any fun - however, when you come to log it and find that other people who had tried didn't manage to find it you don't feel so silly after all!!
Thinking that maybe this one really does need a hint of some kind. Between the three of us (GPSmith, walgl339 and myself) we overturned everything we could find and dug into every hole. There wasn't any hiding places unsearched!!! Was a shame not to find it after our impromptu evening trip from Dunedin to Waimate in the hope to score some FTFs!!

The dubious honour of being first DNF (I think). Despite spending quite a while searching I couldn't come up with the goods!. Two friendly locals passed by walking their dogs and one offered to help me find the truffles I was looking for.

Six new caches in Waimate definitely warranted a slight change in today's itinerary. Bit of mixed success however and this one was a definite DNF, are you sure the co-ords are right?
Three of us spent 30 minutes looking for this one, determined to get a FTF. But it wasn't to be!
Reception was fairly consistent, but in the end we ran out of ideas.
