We are interested in finding archived caches since we were told about the statistic on project gc for logging archived caches. This was an easy find. Thanks for the cache and thank you for the smiley
Found Cache quickly in hand at new co'ods as placed. Was wery wet inside and couldn't salvage log. New bag & log. This one could be good to go when weather improves. BYOP TFTC
*The wind really whips through here. Cache pulled from the mini dune that developed at hide. Rocked at the stay.*

Read some old posts and found the cache. The Cosy Nook cache was a bust but at least I get a smilie here. SL TFTC
Logging with permission of CO.
We visited" Resting at Monkey Island (Southland)" today and found the cache in a pile of bricks about 30 metres from GZ, just spotted it when wandering around the cemetery. The listed co-ordinates area has been cleaned up and there is nowhere to hide the cache. I have hidden it under the fence brace at S46 18.155 E167 43.391 and put a bit of concrete over it. This is too good a spot to not have a cache, a quiet place away from the activity at Monkey Island. TFTC.

Archiving this one since it is missing and a bit far to keep going to replace it now
Well there has been some hedge pruning in the area and I couldn't find the cache. I fear it is no longer there.
Parked within 3m of GZ and then it was just a matter of stretching the arm. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
A nice stroll up from the camp at Monkey Point. Very little wind today. TFTC!!!
Thanks for the cache, which I found during my journey through amazing NZL. Kind regards.
2 of 18 today on a mission to get 9 different cache types in one day (and some extras). A quick easy find. TFTC

#67 I felt a little bit scary to go for this one. Also observed from the men working there. Tftc from Germany
Together with my family on a vacation trip to New Zealand. Starting at Auckland airport on transfer to Christchurch we went for a roundtrip exploring the south island. This was one of many caches we found while visiting so many nice and interesting places thanks to all the caches why I want to send a thank you to all CO for the work spent. TFTC.
I'd never been out to this part of the beach before, and I'm glad that this cache brought us to the spot. Although, we really didn't expect to find the cache just lying on the ground, out in the middle of nowhere like we did. As per earlier loggers, someone has deliberately set fire to this cache and area sometime lately, and the container is badly blistered and a bit melted. Although, hard to believe that the contents and the travel bug were still all okay inside. The TB was half in, half out. Container is also missing one of its side clips. Signed log, and made a better hide for it in the spot we thought it had originally been placed in. Think it may need a little TLC. Sadly, this was our last cache before heading back onto the road, and heading home. Brilliant day, and brilliant prelude to Christmas
Found it after Visiting Monkey Island. It was quite exposed, i tried to cover it a bit
It was very exposed as it looked like a fire had burnt the grass around. Thought about moving to undercover but didn't just covered over a little.
After visiting Monkey Island we went to search this cache, too. We found it at once at 12.55 p.m.
Thanks for the hide.

The tide was still too high for a visit at Monkey Island, so we decided to find the cache first.
Time: 13.36 h
No trade.
Tack för cachen!

Another find on our journey from Invercargill to Te Anau, really enjoying the beautiful drive up the coast. With wind in our face every time we got out of the car, it felt quite wild and remote along here. Thanks kryshan.
Today we were off to Te Anau, after having a lunch stop at Riverton, we continued our way along the road. This was a quick stop and grab before moving onto the next. Another visit to the the final resting spot of some of the locals.....and others I guess.
The cache was found after a quick search, no problems with it.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen, fitzy_1965 and Rextrex (local NZer) on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to see more of the South island.

A shared find with my Aussie caching mates Winglen, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and Fitzy-1965 as a part of the NZMEGA2012 experience and our subsequent tour.
Loved this area of wild coastline, so pleased to explore some of the backroads before going to the island.
Thanks for the cache kryshan.

5677 + 591 = 6268. Day 6 of my week long visit to the New Zealand South Island for the NZ Mega 2012 event along with Sol de Lune, Zsazsa7, Winglen and RexTrex.
Today we drove from Invercargill to Te Anau - a stunning drive firstly along the coast and then up through some beautiful country until we arrived at the gateway to Milford Sound. After leaving Riverton we continued our drive in awe of the views and scenes. Another interesting area to explore before heading out to the Island.
Thanks again kryshan !

Seem to be following a couple of Wellingtonians to many of these caches on the coast but a day behind. TFTC #4085
Looked high and low but couldn't find. Will have to try again later when not so windy and cold
Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
Unbelievably cold here today - why was I still wearing shorts? Found with Emvy_us on our southern tiki tour while attending the Dunedin Mega. TFTC
Quick and easy find at the cemetry. Well hidden. T4TC. Did with Mycro Man on our NZ MEGA 2012 South Island Trip
just passing by so why not? We're on our way to NZ MEGA 2012 in Dunedin. See you there!
Went looking after dropping eldest daughter to Orepuki for a holiday with amatheson and matheson.clan
I visited the nearby virtual cache last December; I wasn't really concentrating and missed this cache. Today the light was beautiful as I called around 6pm. No wind. Always interesting to see the effects of the wind on trees in the area, though.

Quite a few years since I have visited this far south, nice to re-visit. This was indeed quite an awesome spot, well placed.

Came from the other Monkey Island cache, and had to do some Macgyvering through the ravine to get to GZ. TFTC
Found, but it wasn't park&grab since we walked from Monkey Island campsite… A little bit more challenging:)
Surprised to learn there is quite a large cemetery here.Took a back road away from here.TFTC
Another incredible spot along this stretch of road. Glad we came for a look and a cache. Dropped off a TB that originated in Toronto, Canada.
Came here to visit cache then came back minutes later to visit grave of parents of good a friend from childhood (not realising that the Monkey Island cemetery is the Orepuki Cemetery. You would have to love the coastal life to want to be buried here.
After a night on the freedom camping ground we looked for this cache. It was a quick and easy found.
Thanks for the Cache. Greetings from Switzerland.

Love these remote cemeteries and spent a while walking round to read the inscriptions.

Easy find after a quick swim to Monkey Island and back! Very busy area but not at the cemetery!
Bit of a search, but found it. Great to read all the grave stones. Thanks for the stop here.
I was in the area so decided to take the nice walk through the cemetery - you got a good wee hide there! While I was admiring some of the tombstones, a weasel (I think) just ran past, then stopped to wonder what I was doing, and then disappeared in the bushes... TFTC!
A quick easy find in this cemetery which seemed quite large given its isolated location. TFTC
Fairly quick find. Last of only three for the day. Ah well, at least it didn't rain. TFTC
Got this in the heavy rain . took me while but got there in end . Everyone else ducked but in truck out of rain .
After doing the Virtual cache down the road, we noted that there was a cache further up the hill, deciding no to walk to GZ we managed to navigate our way by car to this lovely spot. Arrived at GZ and found the cache quickly without any issues, another great little spot for a cache with great views, thanks for bringing us here, TFTC TNLNSL (2983)
Don't think we've ever been down the Monkey Island road before and not sure of what we needed to do to claim the virtual - So glad to have this trad. Cemetery seemed much more active than we expected since it seems so desolate. NINO TFTC
we tried the day before to reach this cache from the campingsite, but that was not possible, we camped here and drove the next day to the cemetary where we soon found the cache
Enjoyed wandering around this old cemetery, I think there was a maori pa near here in the early days.
Always good to come back to Money Island, nice well kept cemetery.
Thanks Bitsprayer
