It seems the ratings in New Zealand are somewhat different from the ratings in Europe .This would not be an 1,5 in Europe .But we found it, on to the next!TFTC, dky za ke!
Tftc, out checking out the daffodils at Lawrence and went for a drive up Gabriels Gully, interesting place
Popped over to Lawrence today to see the daffodils at the Brewery and also have a gander at the Daschund Derby. Both were well worth the trip, then finished the day with some exploring and caching. TFTC
Having completed the Otago Dam walk and stopped for a refueling break, this was the first find on the interesting loop walk.
This one is very wet and needs maybe replaced, very old, still fun to find though!
This cache is well guarded by both thorny bush and vine - i suffered a couple of scrapes getting to it. Glad for it standing out or I'd have never checked there. Tftc!
Very interesting walking track, we started early and took our time stopping for lots of snack breaks and rests for my short legs. I especially liked the caves and the lolly stops. Thanks for placing the caches on this track.
Really cool walk, interesting reading the information boards and we loved finding the caches. TFTC
With a few hours to wait before the shuttle arrived we had a ride up to Gabriels Gully and a look around the town. The mining really interesting, pretty in the gardens with spring flowers. Well worth a stop. TFTC
Here today to walk the loop track and get all the caches on it.
Pretty busy place, lots of dog-walkers, enjoyed seeing all the happy pooches. Log book was very soggy but someone has provided a little pink plastic slip as a replacement, worked okay. Tftc.

Tftc. Wanted to do the whole loop, but didn't get far before sleet and w degree temps made abandoning the quest a better plan.
Enjoyed this walk today and picked up all ten caches. Lots of superb autumn colours on display, along with on and off drizzle! This was a reasonably quick find. #6075. TFTC.
In Dunedin for a wee Easter school holiday adventure. Rather wet so not sure what we'll be doing for the few days that we are down here! Today the aim was to visit Lawrence and then complete the walk around Gabriels Gully as MrsTGs ancesters mined here at the time....After having some lunch and waiting for a heavy shower to pass we set forth form the car with raincoats and umbrellas...thankfully the rain held off.
A quick find here as we slogged up from the carpark, thanks.

Found today while deciding how much of the track we had time for before having to head for home. TFTC

After a night camping, took off to do the loop track before heading further inland. Found with Conbat. TFTC!
Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it. thanks for adding the poof paper. I was a bit weary of near by shaft.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Ranfurly to Lawrence today, With some biking and some walking too. Another glorious day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After a lovely quiet night at Grey's Dam we did this loop walk, hoping to get around with no rain. We had to dodge dog poo, hawthorn and blackberry to find this one. Thanks for the placement drawp.
We began the climb up from here un- fortunately this must be a fav dog spot as there many catoongs and the barberry bush was growing extremely well..but the cache is fine ..thanks Drawp
Ouch got stung by something on the track but thanks to my child he went off the track in search for it.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up in Lawerence for a couple days … some biking on the Clutha Goldfields Trail & walking into Gabriels Gully are on the agenda … decided we would do the loop track around Gabriels Gully today … amazing to read the various facts & figures regarding the number of people, mostly men, that uprooted themselves, often from the other side of the world, to come here with the lure of a fortune just sitting in the ground … realistically most would have been disappointed … so thought it would be rude not to grab a few caches … found with no issues, log completed & successfully returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,053 for us.
Found a pencil this time!
Out with partner and her kids and grand kids.
Nice spot!!

Thanks for the cache drawp. Have been wanting to come up here for sometime and pick up the collection of caches in this area. Also I have never been to the gully before so wanted to come check out the history here. It was all interesting. Seems strange now to think of all those people living and working here.

Found the prickles as well but nothing like as bad as life must have been for the mining fraternity. What a history! Thoroughly enjoying our walk around the gully and the smilies are a bonus as well. Cache is all good. TFTC
We were down in Invercargill for a week then travelled around a bit and we passed quite a few caches and i was able to stop and locate some and then made our way through to Dunedin for a reunion . this was an interesting monument as we went up to the gabriel's Gully site. and i took some photos
Thank you for these caches

At the start of our walk. Had a look but didn't find it. Was meant to go back for another look before we left but forgot. Another day..
Watch the prickles when hunting for this one. Found after a bit of a search around. Found with Flamingo4850. TFTC.
Saw this area on the map of the Otago gold trail. Bonus free campsite as well as walks, caches and gold mining history. All favourites.
Car parking was at a premium as a bunch of walkers were amalgamating for a MS fundraiser.
We managed to get this cache moments before a group of walkers congregated just below us, great timing! TFTC
After spending time at the museum we headed out here. I could not find it so husband left the warm confines of the bus to go look and came up with the cache. Nice and quiet out here today, TFTC
Finally at Gabriels Gully and time for a walk. Looking forward to this walk as I have been in Toby for too long. A quick snag and tag here. Cheers
Its Wednesday 24 April and we are off exploring Milburn, Lawrence and Lake Mahinarangi today. Awesome!!
Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Arrrghhh!!!!!! Interesting signboard at GZ but it has a fundamental fail . £3-6 per week? What does that mean? What is the % of that to an average house price, convert that into $ percentage of average house price now. Without the comparison, that figure is valueless.
Anyway, looking forward to this walk...
Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

Thought to look at the last minute if there were any caches out here. Glad we did! Thanks for the find.
Woops some how logged this at first as a DNF, but we found it. Got to get that yellow smiley face.
Heading back to Dunedin after our holiday and in no rush today so able to stop several times along the way! Geohusband has always wanted to come up for a look here so headed this way. Will need to come back to get the others! TFTC!
Mirko83 and I are traveling through New Zealand from the 15th of december to the 10th of January. We rent a camper, one of the jucy green ones. We made a long list of places we want to visit. Geocaches are on our list as well. This will be fun
We came here to hike around the area and see what is left of the old gold ages. Also my first time I could fly my drone in New Zealand. This place was in the permit included, so I took lots of pictures from above. Thank you for the cache.

WhTs not to love about a caching trip combined with downsouthinv having to deliver parts for work.
Any excuse is a good one, and time to head off the main road into the wilderness to find us some caches.

At last, a free weekend before the onset of chaos. An early morning phone call...'are you able to take xyz up north to a customer?''
There was no excuse not to, quickly chucked clothes on dragged her outta bed raced into work, got parts, and on the road before 8am.
As we drove, the voice from the passenger seat, piped up and said ' look at all these, aren't we going near here?'
Oooh Goody!! Now it's a fun work trip, might be a long day!!!
A nice walked to pick all the caches . Truly amazing what was done by hand and no real technology just manpower and perseverance and the need to survive in the pursuit of gold.
All nice and dry
