Logs
Three of us searched at 0 metres on three different levels and read logs and looked at the other set of coordinates given and all came up empty handed. Lots of crevices with mossy and not mossy rocks. But we never found the right one.
Was tricky and we were looking for the original ammo box. Which chat with a recent finder put us on the right path. Thanks Bella! The view is absolutely spectacular!!
I had been to the Stirlings a few months back (missed the snow on Bluff Knoll by a few weeks) and did two peaks that day (Bluff Knoll and Mago) and knew I want to do more.
Fast forward and a few things lined up and this was going to be the best opportunity and thought I’d see some wild flowers too but many are still to peak.
The mountain sure looks imposing from all angles and an early start saw us get to the top in just over an hour which surprised me a little. Some parts of the boulder track were yet to dry fully and was slippery so I could only imagine what a foggy or misting day would be like and soon realised why this track gets the extra terrain rating compared to the rest in the area.
On creating the summit I was a bit surprised to see a couple of muggles there but there was a car in the carpark when I arrived. Here the weather changed with the wind picking up and the clouds rolling in. The speed of the clouds passing went from dreamy to express at one point.
I had not checked the updated coords so found the cupboard bare at the old spot before reading logs and heading up top again and out of view of the muggles. Plenty of looking and looking at the log photos. A PAF to a past finder confirmed a few things and back to a location. I signed enough of a log but can the next finder bring a replacement as the muggles seem to get into this. Message me before you head up to be sure.
With the cloud cover settling at one point Mt Hassèl just poked through and it looked like you could almost walk across. Later I was up Mt Hassel with the clouds having gone and saw just how high and steep the Toolbox is.
The down trip was about 45min

Since Bluff Knoll was so easy, decided to add another peak to the day. This one was much harder. An hour to the summit, but three hours total because coming down is slow going! Also spent a while on the summit looking for the cache, but was probably just looking too high now that l re-read the details. I didn't have them with me, so only wrote "below summit". Darn.
Decent climb, first km is ok and took 15 min, but gets steep and rocky and second km took over an hour.

Found on 21/11/21. Our team consisted of Geodad, Geoson 1, Geoson 2 and one of their mates. Sadly Geodad did not have the fitness level required to make the summit so with tail between his legs, he returned to the carpark for lunch. The others pushed on and made the find. Great experience for them. Geodad and Geomum will do this one another day.
As you may well have surmised I did not get all the way up here. However PP1 is a tad fitter than I. What a beautiful part of the country. TFTC
The view is the reward after such a hard climb/walk. The geocache is an added bonus! Thanks so much for placing this one, and by the sounds of it everyone involved in bringing it back!
Thank you so much to all the teams involved in tracking down the wandering cache, retrieving it, then returning it to its hidey hole. Nice deliberate spoiler shot of Barnzy at GZ will help future finders too. The very official stencilled message should hopefully stop it wandering again.
I really appreciate your assistance and so will future finders - be they cachers or muggles

Metup with Richlink in the carpark at the base of the mountain at 730 and made the trek up the mountain to return the missinf ammo can.
It was tough going with some slight drizzle causing the large rocks to be quite slippery, a couple of tumbles taken and a lot of small slips on the walk.
Was lovely to have the peak to ourselves apart from some small birds where we enjoyed the location despite the fog which made visibility tough.
Thanks tango for hiding the cache, jasenjanine for collecting the ammo can from the muggle, Richlink for collecting the can from jasenjanine and getting it back to its rightful spot!

Geo-hubby had arranged to meet B12 in the carpark at 7.30am. Although fine weather had been forecast, by the time they got to Chesterpass Road it was drizzling. This climb had been a month in the planning to return the muggled container to the top, so always one's to push boundaries, the climb went ahead. The rain made the climb very slippery and elevated the terrain rating, and they were soaked within ten minutes of commencing. Not only rain to contend with, there was fog making visibility only a few mts ahead. They made it to the top, recorded their visit in the new log book, concealed the hide and unfortunately were not rewarded with any view at all. The return trek downhill was treacherous as it was still raining and the whole trip took every minute of four hours. Still they both loved the experience and that is what geocaching is all about. Thanks tango
Although this cache is up high on our to-do list, this logbook was solved in a more unconventional kind of way which involved unsuccessfully chasing the ammo-box to Denmark, & then finally tracking it down in Pemberton
Poor old mate took the tin from the summit (which was probably not in the correct location) thinking someone had accidentally left it there [:B] Anyhow he was most apologetic about removing it & even invited us in for breakfast... Im not sure he is convinced on the whole idea of geocaching, but at least he will know next time to leave them be [:X]
TFTC tangowithcupcake We signed the logbook (which has been signed hundred of times in the last year), added a TB before handing this one to some intrepid cachers keen to do the climb once the weather cools a little.
Hope to make the climb one day, perhaps the intrepid cachers will leave another one up there to further entice us

Thanks Janine for the heads up on the muggling of this cache. I was up there a couple of months back so wasn't planning on going back just yet. Anyone considering a hike, please let me know and I can give you an ammo box to take up.
We nearly left the peak without checking for the Geocache! Spent approximately 20 mins looking and cheated using the photo hint. We came to the conclusion that it was removed after the fires came through the area! Bit of a shame, but a great hike - much more enjoyable than Bluff Knoll
Had a pre-lunch warm-up on My Trio, with this being the main event some early morning rain had cleared, but the wind was howling above - but that was future me's problem when I was closer to the summit.
Each year I go to Thredbo and do a race up Mt Crackenback with almost identical stats - 600m gain over 2 and a bit kms. This was quite a bit harder though, as there you head up a smoothish track and over grass - and get to ride the chairlift down!
Loved every minute of it!

Nabbed this one on a fine (but windy and cold) day. The view is incredible and worth every step to get to the summit. Cache is in great condition. Thanks tangowithcupcake for the excellent excuse for a climb!
Nice climb/trek up the mountain, and the view from the top...awesome. Sharing the top today with a bunch of bugs and butterfly's - lovely. Weather today is fine with clear blue sky, quite hazy in the distance though.
Cache was an easy find down in the rock crevice and all is in good order. TFTC

After climbing Mt Magog in the morning I had reason to climb Toolbrunup in the afternoon. Found the cache whilst at the top. TFTC.
Cat & the Albany Scout Group climbed to the Top of this montain and managed to finally claim this cache that we had our eye on for a while. They came back saying they thoroughly enjoyed the views and brought back some great photos. TCTC Tango.
My travelmate speeded off to the summit but I took a little more time and enjoyed the views on the way up and on top. While he was taking some cool pictures, I found the nicely hidden cache. Afterwards I realized that there might have been an easier approach to the cache, but the little extra climb was fun too.
Thanks for the cache!

We spend a few weeks in WA and were travelling along the coast. During that, we did some geocaches, and also this one. It's always a great way to see something from the country beside touristic attractions So thank you for showing us a new place, we would't have visit without the Cache!
During a few weeks of vacation, this cache could be found. Greetings from Germany
I really really wanted to find a toolbox. We took hike to top of the mountain. It was awesome exprerience! I logged the summit book. Sadly weather turn bad and clouds were really low. We tried to locate the GZ - no luck this time! I would really like to climb that mountain again. Actually, I'm ready to climb all the mountains. Great place to put a geocache!
What a fantastic climb! Out of the 5 or 6 summits we have experienced in the Stirlings, this one has to be up there with the best. And what a great place to drop a couple of trackables! Love the view from this cache location - thanks for taking us out to this scary looking, but quite safe, spot... Fav from us.
Picked this one up whileon a holiday down south. My second visit to the stirling ranges. A bit more relaxed this time round, I only climbed Toolbrunup and Trio. I didnt find out until a day and a half later that the morning I went up Toolbrunup it snowed on Bkuff Knoll. Missed it by that much........
So lucky with the weather today. Perfect conditions for the climb. Clear skies, no wind and awesome views.
Had to look around for a bit but found it more or less near our gps GZ. TFTC

Good directions - found it after a bit of casting around. Beautiful peace at the top!
Wicked climb, good to work on fear of heights! Great weather and amazing views!
Bagged the summit but didnt make enough time to find the cache. Mind you, the path to the summit became rather vague in the final few metres.
Compass irrational with rocks. Did not look for long. Also low visibility, cool and winďy. Next time.
Down at the Stirling Ranges for a bit of a hiking holiday. First visit for me. The weather on Bluff Knoll was simply amazing but Toolbrunup was my favourite walk. Very picturesque, running water even in December, birds and plenty of wildflowers. Absolutely worth the climb.
Also walked Mt Hassel, unfortunately not a lot of shade on that climb and a warm day with no wind made for a hot climb. Finished up with Talyuberlup and the views were stunning. Helped by the patchy cloud giving broken light over the mountains.

Having already talked Mt Talyuberlup and Mt Hassell, decided to do one more! With weary legs managed to make the trek all the way to the top, stopping very frequently for a rest break I might add! Once finally at the peak the view was the best of the day with 360 degree views on such a clear day! Found cache I bit hard to find with GPS playing around due to the rocks, but got it eventually!! Thanks for the cache worth a favourite point for sure!
Baman_5 and I missed out on this one after the tough climb, (for me, the rest of my group rocked out on the climb) 4 sets of eyes looking for this. GPS was right on the co-ords but apparently it can't tell between height so it could of been above or below us, the crevasses looked about 10m down from summit we were looking in. . What a shame!
Found with josstaylor, just forgot to log online. Cache was all good, saw a wedge tail eagle when we where up the top, it got quite close. TFTC
Tftc, in good condition. Windy and cold up here today. Training for Kokoda. 1.20h to get up. Great view
Thanks for the walk but really no time at all to search and find the cache...
But we ll come back asap...!!!
But we ll come back asap...!!!
Too bad Cache-Shew Nuts, but hope you enjoyed the section that you did complete. Sometimes I think I'm the only person that does things like that, like the time I drove way out into the bush in the goldfields to go prospecting and found I'd left my miner's pick behind. Luckily the detector never beeped anyway or I would have had no fingernails left.
I drove 400kms with my son to get this cache, only to find when we got here, I had left my hiking boots at home!! DOH!! No other shoes or anything....... We ended up getting about 1.5kms in just with my double plugger "Hiking" thongs but it started getting a bit too hairy. So, we'll be back....with Dads hiking boots!!
A great walk on a day that started nicely but got progressively worse. By the time I got to the top it was raining, close to white out and blowing a gale. It was fantastic and made better by the cache. Great spot and in a logical location. Much appreciated. Tnln
The weather was bad. Really really bad but nevertheless we set out to climb this mountain. The visibility might have been 10 metres, the wind just like a tropical storm and the rocks slippery as if it had rained all day. Well, this is also why I wasn't able to find this one. I did make it to the top leaving my backpack and girlfriend behind for the very last bit. But given the bad circumstances and my fear of height I couldn't concentrate on looking for the cache and had to abort quite quickly. Nevertheless I would still like to thank the owners for their work. Cheers frutek
Headed south for a relaxing road trip with the Western Patrol Club and a mate. We stayed at Cheynes Beach before heading across to West Cape Howe and then into the Stirling Ranges for our last few nights. Beautiful coast line, awesome hils, great fishing, and some good 4wding. Gotta love this state of ours.
What an epic climb. Headed up in the clouds, and they parted just as we go to the summit. Absolute magical spot. TFTC

Traveled down to Albany and the Stirling ranges area with a mate at Easter, did this cache as part of a whole heap. Great way to see the fantastic areas on show. Good to see some really interesting areas hidden away.
Thanks for this cache - great one to enjoy the scenery but can be difficult with lots of muggles around depending on the time of day.

Found with mevilia and the Family Bushwalking Club. The climb up was awesome and eventually we were walking in the cloud. The time we spent looking for the cache then let the weather get worse and the atmosphere then got colder because of the time we spent in the cloud. Looking at the description and noticing that it said around 5m from the summit we thought that this Geocache would be a piece of cake until every nook and cranny was searched and we were moving further down pushing the limits to about 10m from the summit, but who would of guessed Mt Toolbrunup has two summits. So after climbing over slippery rocks and people as another group were having lunch there it kind of felt like we were intruding there space by looking under the rocks they were sitting on, they must of thought the same thing as about five minutes into the search of the second summit they got up and slowly made there way down the mountain. As soon as they leaved we had a proper look at the the rocks and gosh there was the cache. This was a clever hiding spot with outstanding views. Thx tangowithcupcake for the hide.

This was an epic hunt. We had a large number of geocachers from various groups (all members of the Family Bushwalkers of WA) crawling over the summit looking for this one. One by one the groups gave up leaving only a few at the end. The weather was interesting to say the least. We were in cloud pretty well as we left the car park and proceeded to walk in varying intensities of rain. It was also cold resulting in lots of numb fingers. Slippy rocks meant a number of bruises too. We reached the summit and somebody yelled out that the cache was within 5 m of the summit. This was going to be easy we thought. Somebody also yelled out that it was in a rock crevice. I hadn't got my GPS out at this point and was relying on others to show the way. When I found out that we were more than 10 m away from the cache I started to wonder. Toolbrunup has a twin peaked top. Maybe the growing cairn at the summit was not actually the same summit as the "within 5 m of the summit cache" summit? Maybe. We moved on and went to first principles. Find GZ! This took us away from the cairn by some distance. More searching. Some giving up now. One last check and look around. Bingo! We dropped off two travel bugs (which we picked up on Mt Hassel after dropping off last year!!) and we were on our way. Thanks for the hunt. It was epic! melvilla
After spending a while looking and the wind blowing like mad, we finally found it. Very well hidden! TFTC
DNF @ 15:00!
Should have been Find #1 of the day, on a drive from Esperance to Perth via Albany as part of a four-night camping trip with friends!
We all managed the climb to the top without many problems and was greeted by the amazing views!
Took a few photos of various people in precarious positions just below the summit before continuing to the top to be greeted by masses of biting insects! Everyone was ready to leave quite quickly, but I really wanted this cache!
Navigated to GZ using a combination of GPS and satellite photos but found nothing at the Listed Coordinates, despite a good accuracy.
Even searched further afield once I had managed to download the photo, but could still not locate the cache!
The only thing I can think of is that it was near where a group of climbers had been sitting since we arrived at the top and were still there when the rest of my group were already descending...
For safety reasons, I needed to call it a day and follow the rest of my group down, but I am VERY disappointed not to have found this cache!
Good views though, so I'm very glad to have made the climb in near perfect weather!

GC found in healthy working order. Thoroughly recommended hike (up Mt Toolbrunup). 3rd time now and look forward to next.
So many possible hiding places and such a poor GPS signal. Also didn't have any details of the cache with me so I thought I was chasing a much smaller container - spent time checking out multiple tiny openings etc and missed the obvious. Maybe a future visit???
The climb was great and views from the top worth the effort so thanks for bringing us here!!

Ah well didn't have the spoiler pic on my phone so missed out on a find today but still reckon this is a great cache. Really would be hard pressed to find better views, especially with the showers sweeping around today. Thanks tangowithcupcake for placing a cache in such an awesome spot. Will definitely find this one next time.
Had this one on the cards for a long time and with my leave running out I had to hop to it to get it done.
Set after after morning drop off and got stuck into the walk up. Wasn't long before I came across a snake. Well, what remained of one.
Was quite a slog to get up and had all kinds of thoughts going through my mind, one of which was "Hmmm, may have to post a 'needs maintenance' log and see if Tango goes for it".
Was glad to see a fresh view come into view as I was near the top. Made my way past GZ to get to the top first, added a rock to the cairn, took a couple of snaps and then back down to find the cache.
Seems I am 21st to log (in the book) with quite a few non cachers leaving some positive remarks.
Journey back down was easier than I had anticipated.
This would be by far the best walk I have done in the area, and the hardest too. Favorite point added.
Took 2 x charms and the GC.
Thanks for the walk TWC.

I was joined by two older teens for this challenge; we had great conditions and enjoyed a fabulous hike to the summit. Magnificent location! TFTC.
Having reports that the climb was challenging, we (brother from Perth, his daughter and Geo- Mickey) started early and it wasn't long that we could confirm that it was not going to be a walk in the park. However as we got further up it seemed to get easier and the moment we rounded the mountain to see the north, we could see the end.
And what a view! Although the morning was a bit fresh (mind you we met a couple at the top who had camped there the night) the freshness was put aside as we took in the views.
After a good 1/2 hour at the top, we went in search of the cache and it was quickly located. Thanks Tango, this is one walk that I will recommend. Took 2 charms - left bounce ball

Found this one after a tough day of hiking from Mt Hassel with Team Setter. Certainly was tough to find in the dark but finally team setter spotted it after about 20 minutes of searching. Sitting down to sign the logbook gave us a chance to sit down and rest before embarking on our long dark walk back to the campgrounds where we left the car. Great location and awsome views. Worth a favourite from me.
Thanks for the hide Tangowithcupcake.

What a climb, we did Bluff Knoll this morning and this one in the afternoon. This is certainly the toughest of the 2. Worth every one of the four and half star terrain. It took a bit of searching to locate the cache, the GPS seemed to be all over the place. Perseverance paid off and the hiding spot was found WooHoo!
