Cache hunting in the Eastern Bay today. Its been a while since I ventured out this way. In my absence, there seems to have been a mini run of new caches...

This was a former DNF, so I was keen to have a crack at it. On arrival, there was a van and occupant parked nearby... but she appeared to be none the wiser. I circled the Taniwha once and noticed an oddity. It turned out to be the cache. A very quick find today, and I'm grateful that it has been replaced and reactivated. TFTC and the clever hide.

31-Aug-12
Couldn't be bothered with a thorough search on this one. Just hoped that something would present. Will probably need the co to visit.

08-Jul-12
Took some family out to introduce them to the joys of Geocaching. Let them have a really good look, but they had no luck. As I had found this before, had a look myself.
Cache is missing!!! Cache holder is still there thou.

05-Jul-12
Nearly gave up on this one then .. there it was. Reading the past logs I was ready to put a new piece of paper in but someone has added a piece of notepaper as a log. The cache container needs replacing as it does not really seal up, but the new log is still dry, and the old log can be opened and read. Great structure that drove me mad for 10 minutes. TFTC.

15-Jun-12
Got it after a bit of searching Wink Still wet, needs some improvements.

10-Jun-12
Log still a bit damp, but not difficult to find. TFTC

29-May-12
Log book and contents too wet to handle let alone write on.

11-May-12
Great hide even greater beach sculpture. Contents are very damp and mouldy. TNLN

08-May-12
Knew how to search these structures after finding similar objects at National Park and Raurimu. Thanks but the log book is full

12-Apr-12
The container was very difficult to find. Fortunately I am quite tall and was able to see part of it "deep" in it's hiding spot. I am not surprised the person who made the last entry could not find it. The log is mouldy and very damp. TFTH

11-Apr-12
Interesting sculpture, found quite easily once I had analysed the clue. TFTC

*** log book full and quite wet, needs replacing ***

31-Oct-11
Found with Mr Chillipips in the dark using cellphone light Smile - knew it was going to be tricky but thoroughly enjoyed not only finding it in this fantastic hide, but the whole sculpture! Will have to call back another time to really appreciate its construction, but what a great place for a cache. Really well done. Would love to know more about the construction of the sculpture. Visited some TBs and coin too large for the container. TFTC
Cheers
