Saw the feature but despite a thorough search couldn't locate the cache. It is 4 years since this cache has been found. Suggest it should be archived.

Sounds like this one is long gone. ??

Jup likes loop hikes, so we took a somewhat different way back from Mount Arthur. There were 2 additional caches on this alternate route, but we DNF this one and didn't bother looking for the next one (at the Flora hut) because it was starting to rain.

This one hasn't been found in several years. I wonder if it is still there.

I stopped to take a picture of the tree on the rock, then checked if there is a cache close and had a nice surprise as I saw 8m!
So I went up and around and quickly found the container, nicely hidden under a big beautiful rock.

Found on Saturday. Love this walk and great bird-watching. Cache is wet except for the replacement log in the pill bottle, thanks for that.

It was an Adventure to get to the carpark but then we enjoyed the scenery. Really beautiful! Tftc.

Christmas time, and we went on a big family tramp to Kahurangi. Mum, brothers, hubby, and our 2 year old. We did a 7 day tramp, and then went to Nelson for the night, and then split up, and the 3 of us not wanting to go home yet did yet another hike just overnight.

We had a great time hiking, and hanging out with great weather (Except for one day! ) and good baking!

We found almost all the caches on the way too - except for some which were just too much of a detour with a heavy 25kg pack!
Thanks for all the hides, and sorry for the copied logs, but it's just been so much time, so hard to remember exactly, and it's a busy life chasing a toddler & running a business! Eeek!

TFTC!! Smile

Out with the family hiking around this side of Kahurangi for a few days! Great scenery and good to have caches to aim for, especially on the long stretches of track. Signing as Team Polak. TFTC!!

TFTC! Slept in Mt. Arthurs Hut for a night and went up to the summit...what an awesome environment to spend time in! Nice name!
...., but the logbook the soaked...

Returning from Mt Arthur by this route, because Mr D had a yearning to see Flora Hut. A proper tramping track, this way! And this cache on the way - wow! yes, the cache title says it all! Unfortunately the cache was wet through, including that appropriately-themed jandal-shaped logbook. Have added a replacement logsheet in a double screwtop pill bottle, which should stay dry.

2nd of the day. Love it. Loge was a little damp but dried out the baggie and contents as best as I could. TFTC

After a walk up Mt Arthur thourt I'd tack a different track back down the hill. Thinks trees will do to grow TFTC

Big thanks to Magpiy for the cache maintenance on this one. Sounds like road is now more accessible for non 4WD.

07-Sep-14
The road to the car park is now open to serious 4WDs which we don't have. As soon as 2WD vehicles are allowed back up there it will be a priority to relocate the cache.

Dear Reviewer(s), I would appreciate a bit of extra time in getting this cache back in place. The main access road to this area has been washed out by a recent flood event and the area is quite remote. I'll get there as soon as I can but it will be longer than "a few weeks".
Thanks, KE.

Found on the way back from Mt Arthur, decided to complete the loop and I'm glad I did . A very scenic bit of track and the tree roots weren't *that* bad... A quick find at GZ, an interesting formation. I always knew that beech trees would grow on bare rock but this one is a great illustration of that! I'm surprised that it's over a year since this was last found! Everything in good condition, the cache was starting to get encircled by hair roots from the tree. Signed log, TFTC.

We consider we have a very strong case under the 'Fair Trading Act'. We took the advice to bring our own deckchair - but where was the sand, the umbrella, the sun.... and the sea!!

Actually you probably have a good defence - a favourite point from us. We left home too late to get to the top of Mt Arthur, but knew we would have a good walk anyway. We are happy to retrace our footsteps but the chance to do a loop walk was even more appealing. Had lunch near the Mt Arthur hut and meet 3 'young ones' who tried to put us off the track back via Flora. With the best of intentions - they told us it had exposed tree roots, big step downs and was too tough to take their mother on!!It is certainly not the easy terrain of the main track, but we are so pleased we ignored them. Neat views across the tussock to the bay, purple toadstools, bird song and good GPS reception. Until 40m from the cache .... hmm... the cache notes say it should be obvious - it was!! The feature at GZ was as neat as the walk to it and the cache hint was also fun!! Thanks.

Lovely day, no wind. A good day's walk coming up via Clouston's Mine and Gordons Pyramid, and on to Mt Arthur Summit, then back down here to extend the trip a bit more and get this last cache - Thanks for the inspiration to go that little bit further!

where is the beach???

I don't know. There are several things wrong with this cache. First, the name. Although somewhat plagiarised, it is not even an alliteration. And the other problem is that it made me walk up the real ridge instead of the travellator one on the east side. Apart from that, excellent cache in an interesting spot Wink TFTC.

nice day to go to the beach, but no sun or surf at the cache. Published coords worked sweet for me, the other ones went to another big rock. It was about here on down, we had trouble finding the track from storm trash on a night mish few years back. 1 hr became 2 !

Not to complain but I think I missed the good weather in the photo.... in fact there was snow.... lots of snow! took a trackable but will log it a little later - Turtle come Tuatara.

As a side note - I don't really care about FTF's but as Biggles isn't "claiming" it, I'm surprised to see his log online.... as the first to log online gets the FTF stats. So in reality Biggles did claim it.

Whoever is first to find this cache you will find my name in the back of the log book as I was with Kiwi Explorer when he placed this one - I am not claiming FTF and this spot has been left blank for the next person to find this cache. Neat placement that should prove an amusing diversion on one of my favourite walks in this region. TFTC, Biggles.

Dropped in a trackable.... Totally inappropriate footwear for this sort of terrain I'm afraid.
