Easy quick cash after a day in kawerau. Didnt have a pen on me to sign off. Thanx
I tried really hard to find this one, spent a long time searching, reading, scanning for clues.
Sadly a DNF for me today
Sadly a DNF for me today
Took me two days to find great spot! To damp to put name on it, may need to be replaced
As our plan change again for today We decided to head to Whakatane Thanks to CO for a great day

Nearly done for today and was seriously ready to start writing up the DNF - change of angle and direction worked marvels in the end - spot found and signed in after draining the water.
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Was sent to Kawerau today for work. Have never been here before, so after I'd finished the job, I forfeited my lunch break to find a few caches.
Another quick stop here for this cache and I was rather impressed with the mural across the road.
Will have to return for the remaining caches and to explore the town further.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Thanks for the cache and taking us to this wonderful mural.Found the empty container, replaced a temporary log, needs maintenance.
FOUND. Paper was a bit wet so tried to dry it out a bit. Our first family found in awhile.
Found and signed ..this Road is very busy ...I did not realise that there were so many people in this small town lol..thanks Murray & Janet for the nice tidy cache
I kept looking for a mural and when I could see anything, I wasn't sure that the sign was the right one. After tooing and froing I finally found two containers, 1 full of water and the other with the log. Thanks for the cache Murray'n'Janet.
We were over visiting the MIL for lunch and she asked us to 'show' her what we've been doing. It was raining pretty hard but I knew I needed a cache to avoid the dreaded dot day so I was happy to oblige. We tried a different cache but got torrential rain and were totally soaked within minutes. Decided that this one might just work and it did. Read out the description and hint and the next minute the MIL says... 'Is this what we're looking for?'... yep that's it! Signed the log and back to the car like little drowned rats... thankfully she had hot chicken soup on the stove when we got home TFTC
Am staying at motel before my 102km ultra tomorrow. Went the long away around ... to discover the cache was within sight of our unit.
We left home Friday night headed to Wanganui to visit our daughter then Saturday morning headed to wards Rotorua and grabbing a cache or two along the way. Today we got up early and decided on the route we were going to take starting at 8.05am, no sleep in for me today. Found the cache signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. such a nice area to visit thank you for placing a cache here made us visit the area and enjoy the sits and the stunning scenory. TFTC now onto find the next cache this is cache number 28 for the day we now have a total of 4748.
I appreciate quick finds at this stage in the day. On my way home now. It's a question of how many will I have time for before dinner? TFTC.
A damp and miserable day but this does not stop a determined Soo. A quick find. Tftc
So after a 3.30am start and an all day caching mission with Kiwis69 and 11HPG11 to find 10 different cache types in one day and 750kms already travelled why not team up with 11HPG11 again, Cats&Dragons and MCC for another mission, 10mins after the last one had finished.
This second mission turned the day into a massive 27 hour caching trip with well over 1200kms travelled. (Hamilton, Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, Rotorua, Kawerau, Murupara, Rotorua, Summit of Mt. Ngongotaha, and back to Hamilton).
The plan was to head down to Kawerau then on the Murupara and back to Rotorua to find the new trail in that has been laid and then head up Mt. Ngongotaha to attend the Time Warp event. This second trip was a bit of a struggle but we got there in the end, and even found every cache on the trail, and the walk up the hill was much needed. A big thanks to the CO's for the placements.

Heading over to do a little circuit in the company of HKCB, 11HPG11 & McCutchen Cacahe Clan following a big day by the first two of completing 10 types in a day ( while some of us had to do the around the house work that the Good Lady of the House insisted on). Caches were signed collectively as "HOAC" to save space on the logs
So here we are and leaving an event early (yes I know, hard to beleive) to do a little ciruict across the top of the lake to Ngongataha (via Kawerau and Murupara) for the "Time Warp" event. Yes I know but there were caches that needed finding. Not a bad evenings tally with about 35 finds before heading back to Hamilton for some much needed sleep. Thanks to all the cache owners for their plaecments.
Well this was the sixth on the list s we headed across collecting the odd random placement here and there and a few of the simplier ones that did ot require any great walking distnaces in Kawerau. Had stopped by here some considerable time ago but then it was missing, not so today
Thanks for the placement and the cache

A mission that has been a long time in the making. Today our goal was to collect 10 different cache types in a day. For Kiwis69 and myself this would have been fairly easy and a short day, but because we were tagging along with HKCB, this meant a few more kms and a wider caching area. We started the day at 3.30am and due to deciding to continue back to another event in Rotorua I got to bed at 5.30am the following day. Sleep is for the weak right?! A memorable day, spent in some great company and superb weather just to make the day even better. All up we did Hamilton - Auckland - Hamilton - Tauranga - Rotorua - Taupo - Hamilton - Rotorua - Hamilton. Travelling all those kms and still ended up in Hamilton
So our 10 types in a day mission had been completed at 6pm and after that huge day the sensible thing would be to go home and rest. Nah where is the fun in that. HKCB and myself decided to team up with C&D and MCC and collect a few caches plus attend an event in Rotorua at 1.59am. Totally normal behaviour.
Logs were signed as HOAC to save room. My first time in Kawerau tonight and I got to see some sights. No problems finding this cache, MCC was straight to it.

Out with Cats&Dragons on a late night - early morning cache run. Logs were signed MCCD but may have varied a bit as tiredness settled in. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a reason to visit
Nice mural alright! Kawerau is pretty kool! A quick park and grab for the 5year old
Thought this one was going to be a nice easy find, but after seraching the sign gor awhile and the tree to the side of it we decided to give it a miss
A quick park and drive. #10 consecutive day find. Have been leaving this one for a day where time is limiting. Got sprung by who I thought was a muggle. Did my best innocent look. Turns out was fellow cacher who keeps eye on cache or CO. If you were CO, hi and tftc. See you around. Not many kawerau caches left for me now.
On a mission today to Kawerau and surrounding areas, then through the lakes to Rotorua and then home to Tauranga.
5th find here and it was a quick one, which was nice as the man across the road was swearing profusely and threatening to kill something/someone, so I didn't linger long.
Photo is from down the road near the river.

Yay we found it didn't have a pen so haven't signed it but will go back since now I know where it is
Great painting!! A quick grab of the cache and we are on our way again. Last day of our geo road trip. Tftc
After an abortive attempt on the Karaponga Dam, we needed some caches to justify the petrol used, so decided to mount an assault on M&J and D&A territory.
No. It is not going to be another DNF day. This took a minute or two, before plucking up courage to dive in, in between traffic.
Thanks M&J.

After a small tiki tour to get some gas we decided to grab a few cashes on the way out. Beautiful mural nice easy find tftc
Unfortunately it has been muggled...will soon replace. (Surprisingly, Philip, it hasn't had a lot of attention from muggles. )
NO LUCK HERE
After what had been a full week and the disappointment of not heading to White Island on Saturday and then it being once again cancelled late last night Alpenmilch80 and I decieded to head over this way and see what we could find before possibly making it back to the event in Rotorua later in the day.
After the disappointment of not going away this could not have been a nicer day to spend caching with a very good friend. This was our first cache of the day here in Kawerau and as previously had had trouble with muggled caches so was unsure how our luck would hold out but were just happy to grab what we could.

Eleventh find today - why can't all your caches be like this one I m surprised it doesn't get muggled more and the log is a mess as well. Cheers Murray'n'Janet
This one was funny cause I went straight to the mural to have a look instead of looking at my compass this is a fun one
A quick lunch time break gave me the opportunity to go out and find this nearby cache. It is indeed a nice mural. Cache was an easy find. TFTC.
[green] Home for Christmas. Well, sort of. Home is actually Palmerston North, the rest of the family are in Rotorua, and now I am off to Opotiki with mum to catch up with the rest of the family who left for the beach a few days ago. I haven't swum in the ocean for years!! So mum and I are are caching our way to the beach.
Sometimes a simple hide is quite effective!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!
